In October 2000, then Secretary of State
Madeleine Albright made a groundbreaking visit to North Korea to work out
a missile deal with Kim Jong Il. The visit touted as a breakthrough toward convincing the country to freeze its nuclear program. Of course we now know the Koreans were saying one thing, and doing another. Today, Senator John McCain blasted the Clinton administration for failing to act in the 1990s to stop North Korea.
"I would remind Senator (Hillary) Clinton and other Democrats critical
of the Bush administration's policies that the framework agreement her
husband's administration negotiated was a failure," McCain said at a
news conference after a campaign appearance for Republican Senate
