Team Obama has always acted like the Chicago mafia operation that it is: they intimidate, arm-twist, threaten, and punish just like an organized crime syndicate. When it comes to rolling like gangsters, the Clintons were pikers compared to Team Obama.
A few months ago, they bullied the Catholic Church and other religious organizations by mandating that they provide insurance coverage for birth control, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs---in violation of their most deeply held beliefs and of religious freedom guaranteed by the Constitution.
Team Obama told them to take a flying leap. Which is what most people, groups, and institutions do when faced with the wrath of Gangland Obama.
This time, however, they may have met their match. Like the 28 states that sued the administration over the constitutionality of ObamaCare, various Catholic organizations are now doing the same thing over the mandate.
According to CNSNews.com, "The Archdiocese of New York, headed by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., headed by Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the University of Notre Dame, and 40 other Catholic dioceses and organizations around the country announced on Monday that they are suing the Obama administration for violating their freedom of religion, which is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution.
"The dioceses and organizations, in different combinations, are filing 12 different lawsuits filed in federal courts around the country.
"The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. has established a special website--preservereligiousfreedom.org--to explain its lawsuit and present news and developments concerning it.
""This lawsuit is about an unprecedented attack by the federal government on one of America's most cherished freedoms: the freedom to practice one's religion without government interference," the archdiocese says on the website. "It is not about whether people have access to certain services; it is about whether the government may force religious institutions and individuals to facilitate and fund services which violate their religious beliefs.""
I suspect Team Obama didn't anticipate this. I think they expected the Church to just roll over and take government coercion, the way they expected everyone in America to lie back and take ObamaCare.
To this tyrannical steamroll, some of the most powerful leaders of the Catholic Church are saying, "You know what, Mr. President? No, we can't, and no, we won't." This time, the Chicago mafia may have picked on the wrong opponent. The Church is strong, powerful, wealthy, and influential with a lot of voters. And now, it's defending not just itself but the Constitution. Catholic or not, we should all be cheering on the Church. And you know what, Mr. President? Yes, we can.
Laura Ingraham @IngrahamAngle So fact that Romney knows how to maximize investor profit is grounds for voters to distrust his ability to grow the economy? Huh?? POSTED BY: GRINGOMAN | MAY 21, 2012 AT 11:44 PM

Another reason Romney will win in November. (In 2008, Obama took in $771 million to McCain's $239: this, no such gap.)

According to a recent poll by the Associated Press and CNBC, 46 percent of respondents think Facebook will “fade away as new things come along.” That’s an ominous data point for a company whose IPO dominated the news cycle last week, and claims some 900 million worldwide users.
So where do you turn when the world’s been stricken with Facebook fever? We rounded up seven apps that could satisfy your social networking needs should Facebook go down the tubes — or you just can’t take it anymore.
Facebook has two main problems: (1) People don’t trust them on privacy; and (2) Each successive “improvement” in the platform seems to make it worse.

A real pity. When people came here before, they saw posts numbering in the hundreds, and most often, all of them fully thought out opinions.
Not any longer. Now each topic is spammed with Twittershit, and people who avoid Twitter like the plague are now harassed by it here.
It also lowers the entire discourse, because people look at MonicaMemo now and say "Not worth checking out; it's just a Twitter rehash for the most part."
For the first time in years, Feedblitz numbers are not climbing, and I haven't been keeping close watch, but if this twitterspam is allowed to continue, will probably decline.
NO ONE wants twitter rehash spam in their inbox.
For us regulars here, it just makes it easier to spam SatanZimmieGringowhore's posts.
For an increase of new readers, it is the kiss of death.
But that's the plan. What conservatives cannot control, they destroy.
Including their biggest target, THE UNITED STATES.

Conservatives are nothing more than tantrum-throwing three year old brats, holding their breath until their faces turn blue and they pass out.
Then, most unfortunately, they wake up and begin the process all over again, instantly.
If only they would pass out one day and never wake up in this world again.
Posted by: xbjllb | May 22, 2012 at 12:27 AM
Actually, the President needs to put poor people first, because the rich run everything around him, hamstringing him.
And if the rich don't get their way, well then, as far as they're concerned, "motherfuckers, the whole shithouse is goin' down in flames."
Posted by: xbjllb | May 22, 2012 at 12:29 AM
Of course, they say it another way:
"Compromise is not an option."

Conservatives really will be happiest in hell, surrounded by no one but themselves, finally, in charge, able to torture at will.
And likewise.

Oh, by the way?
On twitter, just like everywhere else on the web?
Conservative comments are being vastly overwhelmed and outnumbered by progressive and independent anti-conservative comments.
About 4 to 1.
And that's all the rich could achieve with their boiler rooms.
A scant 25% penetration.
Actually? Even less if you allow that about 8-12% are actually REAL conservatives and not paid whores.

"ALL Conservatives think about is homosexuality." - Jay
Just like the Catholic Church has an incidence of heterosexual pedophilia and homosexual pedophilia and homosexuality MUCH higher than the self-accepting 10% of the general population because of their ridiculous celibacy requirement for the clergy, thereby attracting MORE men than the norm with no interest in adult women or marriage whatsoever,
the GOP has the exact same problem, and for a similar reason:
As supposedly the "most" "christian" party, as supposedly the party with a lock on morality, as supposedly the "good" men and women, they similarly attract the self-hating dregs of human sexuality.
Of both sexes.
And, just like in the Church, it leads to all sorts of under the table sex trafficking of children scandals THAT ARE NEVER FULLY INVESTIGATED.
One ALMOST put Poppy Bush away before he got within a million miles of planning 9-11.
But those scandals are meat for two highly corrupt organizations, corrupted by Satan himself, able to keep the blackmail screws on their colleagues and control, control, control at all costs.
Almost ALL Congress are for sale; you can just get the right wing shitheads at bargain basement prices because of their, uh, "peccadillos".
Something "the Church" has known about, from partnership with the Mafia, for almost centuries.
And speaking of the Mafia of the Vatican, look at the "Supreme" Court.

I think it would be FANTASTIC if the Catholic Church's lawsuit fails.
They could then quit pretending to feed the poor and clothe the naked for altruistic reasons, instead of really to round up their boy and girl harems, and then the US could start TAXING THEM.
Churches have been involved in politics for far too long.
IT'S TIME TO TAX ALL CHURCHES. ALL.
And then watch how fast "christian" charities DIE.
As Christ Himself said, "RENDER TO CAESAR THAT WHICH IS CAESAR'S"
Can't argue with that.
Oh, but they'll try. In their pious robes, heads pointed toward heaven, in front of the altar, the issue of boy victims in their corpulent bellies.

Marriage Equality, like the death of the white supremacist GOP, has already happened.
Only the opponent corpses don't realize they're dead yet.
They'll get it, when it finally sinks in, that, no matter how much money they piss away, AMERICA CAN NO LONGER HEAR THEM.

Jerry Brown want the state to suggest to him, what they might want to cut in the state budget to reduce the deficit. Currently CA is in the red 265B. Whatever is suggested, has to pass a public referendum before being adopted. IT IS LIKE EVERYONE IS A 49er, and the government has all the nuggets.
What is the chance they can realistically d3al with their debt, any better than Greece? It is not time for the super-committee?

I have a suggestion- how about making a statewide movie- half the state in it west of the San Andreas Fault. It is a movie about CA sliding into the ocean caused by bankers that place several 100 megaton fusion bomb into the fault, like in the Superman movie. Then they actually do it for real.

Well put, Monica.
My take is: this is a show of power by the Cultural Marxists' in America. They are moving in for the kill. They are going straight at the heart of their most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. And how cleverly devious these commies are! They've recruited a person who claims to be Catholic, Kathleen Sebelius, to spearhead the attack. Make no mistake. This is not your typical contest between Democrats and Republicans. If the Cultural Marxists prevail in this lawsuit, it should leave not doubt -- even with the most sentient amongst us -- that America has crossed the threshold into a mutated form, but very virulent form, of communism.

Backed by the 99% of Catholic women in the US WHO USE BIRTH CONTROL, no doubt.
What idiots these misogynist sexist blasphemous heretical Roman Catholic prigs be.
This will be one instance where "the" "Church" will be moved by the simple political reality, or lose its entire poisonous grip on humanity.
And you want to talk Commies? How about the Catholic Church in South America all UP in COMMIE LIBERATION THEOLOGY?
You lose, Mel. You and the BEAVER.
