Last week, one of Mitt Romney's top aides created a tempest in a tea pot when he said that after the primary, the campaign would re-set for the general election, comparing the re-set to an Etch-A-Sketch. Despite the fact that everybody knew what he meant, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and the press jumped all over the comment, bellowing, "See? Even Mitt's own campaign thinks he's got no solid principles!" Of course, the aide's comment suggested nothing of the sort, but the unfortunate toy metaphor played into an existing narrative about Romney and it hurt him, at least temporarily (although not enough to deny him the nomination, which will be his in relatively short order.)
The problem is that while everyone pounced unfairly on Romney for his aide's remark, nobody is focused on the REAL Etch-A-Sketch guy in this race: President Obama.
From the start of his political career, Obama has said one thing and done another. Or he's cleverly dressed up his actual positions while selling more moderate ones. Or he's flat-out lied about what he was doing. There is no greater Etch-A-Sketch guy than the one currently in the White House.
The latest example: this week, Obama was seated with Russian president Dmitri Medvedev. He leaned in and spoke softly to Medvedev, not realizing his words were being picked up by a hot mic. Speaking about missile defense and other contentious matters, Obama told Medvedev to tell incoming president Vladimir Putin to give him some "space" (what is this...."Sex and the City?"). And then: "This is my last election," he whispered to Dmitri. "After my election, I have more flexibility."
Medvedev replied, "I understand," and "I will transmit this information to Vladimir" and "I stand with you."
Worst Commander-in-Chief EVER!
Two points here: 1. You never tell the enemy what you will do, or what you won't. And yes, Russia is still the enemy.
2. What does he need the "flexibility" for?! For more give-away-the-store deals like the New START treaty? For continuing to ignore Russia's increasing oppression at home and provocative rogue behavior abroad?
Obama was suggesting to Medvedev that once he's re-elected, he'll have a free hand to do whatever he wants: give the Russians everything they want and weaken America even more than he already has. And he'll be doing it without the State Department, the intelligence agencies, the Pentagon or anybody else. He'll be acting unilaterally: a big-time foreign policy freelancer.
So we are to disregard everything he says between now and the election, because it's all just posturing to get re-elected. Once back in office, he'll be more....like Putin and Medvedev. He'll act completely differently.
Just like an Etch-A-Sketch.
Sounds like the nazis concerning the jews.

Yes you guys indeed sound like that, wanting to drive them off their land and secretly celebrating when more Jews are killed by some moslem lunatic.
WE never hear from your kind when Jews are murdered by jihadists.
WHY is that?
Care to explain?

That idea: Why shouldn't the West trade water like the Arabs trade oil? If oil is a weapon, why not water too?
Interesting, Ummah. Veddy intewesting.

Remember, we also have to food weapon.
Those lazy f*cks produce nothing.

Remember this forever....
unemployment was 4% in 2007
Then the Dems won the House.
They were seated in early 2008
and immediately doubled the budget.
Unemployment went to 6% immediately.
Then 8% by the time Summer was over.
Less educated marginal workers lose their jobs more easily
Many of these new unemployed had home loans
These loans went in default.
Obama begged Bush in late September to pump the Economy
The overspending and printing of fake money got worse.
Do you want to end this ?
The Republicans have the House
NOW TAKE THE SENATE
The Presidency is yours easily.
Elmer Fudd could win against the Obama.
The Media is artfully not talking about the Senate Race.
THAT IS THE PRIZE !!!.

OBAMA SEEKS PARENTING ADVICE FROM ISLAMIST ERDOGAN
News
The Daily Caller by: Neil Munro Monday, March 26, 2012
President Barack Obama and Turkey’s controversial Islamist prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan have become such bosom buddies that Erdogan is giving Obama advice on raising his American daughters. ...
“The bottom line is that we find ourselves in frequent agreement upon a wide range of issues… [and] because he has two daughters that are a little older than mine — they’ve turned out very well, so I’m always interested in his perspective on raising girls,” Obama said. ...
“[I]t is shocking that [Obama suggests] he takes child-raising advice from a radical Islamist,” whose wife dresses in black cloaks or tight headscarves when traveling in the West, said [Barry Rubin, an observer of Turkish affairs].

Poor poor Newtie, he can seem to break out of that 12 to 15% range. Look s like he's becoming more irrelevant by the minute.

Maybe it's because he's a big time liberal and most of the Gooper electorate caught on to his con games? At any rate, beware of the carny barkers trying to sell you the snake-oil Newt!
----
Is Newt Gingrich liberal? You better believe it. In fact, he has a long record of standing for just about everything that the Tea Party is supposed to be against. Newt Gingrich has long supported an individual mandate for health care, he supported the Wall Street bailouts, he supported the funding of Planned Parenthood, he did a global warming commercial with Nancy Pelosi and he has made tens of millions of dollars lobbying for liberal causes. In addition, he has a personal life which will make him unelectable when put up against Barack Obama in a general election. So what in the world are Republicans thinking? This is not the guy to hitch our wagon to. Are Republicans really going to nominate a guy who co-sponsored 418 bills with Nancy Pelosi? Newt Gingrich is so liberal that someone needs to tell him that he is in the wrong political party. Newt Gingrich is not just a RINO ("Republican In Name Only"). He is a progressive socialist and a consummate Washington insider. He represents everything that the Tea Party is supposed to be fighting to get out of Washington.

Re Boner knocking Romney for knocking Obama's act with the Russians: How could Boner be that dumb? Seems like it has to be a Gooper ploy to make their Fatal Attraction, Romney, look "tough" and right-wing to GOP voters (until they get him nominated, of course.)
OTOH, Boner could be that dumb.

Wouldn't Creepy raise the national IQ --Flippity FLOP!
National IQ? Not a conservative.Recent Democratic presidents have a higher IQ than Conservative ones. And, Liberal states have a higher IQ than Conservative ones.
the IQ among presidents study goes as far back as FDR-Truman years.

Okay, DJ, we got the latest Romneycare mopping-up Oppo on why the unscripted Newt is allegedly phonier than their scripted phony.)BTW, an equally damning litany
on Santorum could easily, very easily, be cooked up by any OPPO worth its price tag. Now why would they still be concentrating on Newt, when his numbers are way down where Willard's massive negative ad blitzkrieg put them? )
Now here's what we really want to know: According to recent NEWSMAX report, the favorite of Washington lobbyists is Romney!
DJ, what's wrong with those Beltway rubes and dummies? Aren't they privy to all your data which indicates (I imagine) that Newt is the big sell-out, NOT Willard, Newt is the one they can buy, NOT Willard?

It will be. He's dead on the money. See my analysis on the next thread.
There's NO WAY the Supreme Court can "win" this one... WHATEVER they do will piss off the overwhelming majority of the American People.

G-man,
I'm repeating myself but it needs to be said again: I think Santorum, Leroy, AND Willard are establishment, insiders, bought and paid for...whatever. All of their sorry azz's suck canal water. The only real distinction I make between the three is Willard has a better chance to beat Obama in the general. That about sums up the pathetic condition the country has devolved down to. But wait! It's gonna get allot worse! Just think what things will be like when the next POTUS grants amnesty to an estimated 20 million illegals - which will undoubtedly turn red Texas and Florida blue. It will be mathematically impossible for the G.O.P. to ever win the White House again...which is probably a good thing given the G.O.P.'s track record of selling out to highest bidders. F'ing traitors, all of them. I spite on the Goopers. We need a third party. The G.O.P. CANNOT be reformed from within. The TEA Party wasted precious time on the fools errand. The G.O.P. has to be abandoned. But then again, I beleive it may be too late since liberalism reached critical mass during the first half of Dubya's second term. Obama's election and forthcoming reelection is incontrovertible evidence that the triumph of modern-liberalism over conservatism has become reality. The left is firming at the helm of Titanic America. To believe otherwise is nothing more than wishful thinking.
