As I sat in a darkened theater at the premiere for HBO's new movie, "Game Change," I had the same thought I did when I watched Oliver Stone's films "Nixon" and "W." I thought: "This is what liberals think is a sympathetic portrait."
Make no mistake: this movie is disgusting and insulting to conservatives. Sure, the filmmakers toss in a few scenes in which the central character, Sarah Palin, is depicted in tender ways: as a truly devoted mother, and as a fantastic retail politician who not only connects with real people but really cares about them.
But the vast majority of the movie is an elitist slam of her and everything for which she---and we---stand.
It's clear that HBO commissioned the film and put it into production when they thought she was running for president. They made it to bury her. They also made it to reverse her self-driven image rehabilitation by making her into a Big Dummy and reminding people that she's oh-so-clearly not qualified to be president. (This, by the way, is an art form for the Left: they get threatened by a charismatic convervative or Republican and try to destroy them by painting them as Big Dummies: Ronald Reagan, Dan Quayle, George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain...)
The film centers on Palin's selection as John McCain's VP and what a "huge mistake" it was, because, you know, she was such a Big Dummy. There's a brief mention of how McCain actually went into the lead over Obama by about 5 points after her selection and dynamite convention speech. But other that that, she's cast as the sole reason McCain lost. (Never mind that McCain was a terrible candidate, wouldn't go full-frontal against Obama, and that the entire global economy was collapsing. No, it was Palin who single-handedly lost the election for the ticket.)
Her conservative values are mocked, from her belief in limited government to her faith in God. Each time she prayed in the film, the leftwing elites around me in the theater laughed at her. But really, they were laughing at US. This is what they really think of us. This is what Obama thinks of us: "bitter clingers," and all that.
The rest of the movie focuses on all of the hand-wringing by McCain's incredibly disloyal and self-serving staff about the lack of "vetting" for Palin. There is no mention that the guy at the top of the OTHER PARTY'S ticket got ZERO vetting. And he gets very little vetting to this very day, the late Andrew Breitbart's efforts notwithstanding (#VetThePres, #VetTheMedia). The most radical candidate to ever run skated into the presidency without a single tough question asked of him, but Palin lacked "vetting?" I mean, really.
Obama, of course, is shown only in amber-lit flashbacks to his 2008 campaign, surrounded by 200,000 people at his speech in Berlin, giving his convention acceptance speech surrounded by the faux Greek columns. At one point in a scene widely reported at the time, Team McCain gave up on Michigan and pulled all of its resources out of there. It was Palin who stood up to fight. She was the one who requested to go in there and campaign. She was the one who refused to give up.
The two major sources for the film and the book on which it was based, McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt and communications director Nicole Wallace, attempt to make themselves look good---as the "responsible ones" behind an effort that may have been a winning one if only everyone had just listened to them. Please. In order to save their own skins, they threw Palin under the bus in the most rude and low-rent ways. That actually makes them MORE disgraceful than the leftwingers who made this Obama propaganda piece.
This is what we are up against: a hydra-headed Obama machine, with Hollywood, the unions, academia, and the lamestream media creating false narratives and then using their immense power to spin those lies until many Americans believe them. If we're going to have any hope of saving this country, we're going to have to fight back every second of every day.
Palin has handled the viciousness, brutality and lies slung at her with grace and courage. We must do the same.
In order to truly change the game, we're going to have to be game-changers of our own.
Last night Nicole Wallace was on MSNBC and speaking about the film - apparently - Lawrence O'Donnell said with glee - she (Wallace) didn't / "couldn't" vote for McCain / Palin ?!?!?!

The left does indeed do that but in the case of Dan Quayle they actually go tit right, if only because they paint all of US with the same brush and thus happened to get the paint on target purely by random accident.
That said, Quayle's heart is still in the right place and he's be a 100 times better than what we have in the White House right now.

Yes. You're going to have to grow up, quit playing the victim (already? It's not even April yet!), and most importantly, figure out how to really embrace change and the future instead of trying to turn the clock back alternately to 2001 (NEVER happening), 1960, 1930, and 1600 (Never EVER happening unless you and yours manage to BOMB us there).
It's not happening. Oh, we WILL get TAX RATES on the 1% back to 1960 levels.
But that's it.
Palin is an idiot. Cain, not an idiot but a functional drunk. Bush, a drug and alcohol damaged idiot, not born that way.
Bachmann? Santorum? Reincarnated Salem witch trial accusers and judges. The Inquisition Revisited.
Romney, for all his failings (dumber than a rock) looks like Gandhi compared to the rest in your crew. FIX IT. Jettison your nutcases and your religionists and MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, your RACISTS and STOP PANDERING TO THEM.
It only worked for awhile. America has wised up and MOVED ON. You've completely lost ALL of the women (including your own) and MOST of the independents.
And THAT'S the REAL way the Founding Fathers wanted it. NO room whatsoever for any religious bigotry in politics.
Adapt or extinct yourselves.

The GOP has lost fully over three quarters of its women voters over the attempt to turn the contraception clock back to 1960 and 1600.
If the White House manages to get back the five million disenfranchised black, elder, and student voters without ID's, (and it is looking like it will) Obama will sweep back in in a landslide AND gain veto-proof majorities in BOTH houses of Congress.

The Karl Rove/Limbaugh Hitler/Goebbels shtick and tactics worked for awhile.
But America was stronger, and fascism simply cannot retain power for more than a decade under the best (worst) of wartime circumstances.
Buh-bye. Good riddance.

H/T to The Mad Jewess
--------------------------------------
A Few Fun Facts About Professor Derrick Bell Jr.
This obituary, written upon his death, had some interesting points to make:
Bell was credited with developing “critical race theory,” which suggested that the U.S. legal system was inherently biased against African-Americans and other minorities because it was built on an ingrained white point of view. He argued in his many books and lectures that the life experiences of black people and other minorities should be considered in hiring decisions and in applying the law.
Bell maintained that the standards for promotion and tenure at law schools – and Harvard, in particular – were inherently discriminatory and excluded a broad group of minorities. By hiring only graduates of top-tier law schools who had clerked at the Supreme Court, he argued, academia was populated by a uniform group of standard-issue professors, most of them white men.
And why are we not surprised that he was a Farrakhan supporter?
Some scholars, both black and white, challenged Bell’s ideas, as well as his strong support of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Nonetheless, Bell remained one of the country’s most outspoken public intellectuals until his death.
Author James Traub voiced this opinion in his 1993 piece on the professor:
That’s Derek Bell’s bottom line: if it comforts whites, it’s bad; if it comforts blacks–i.e., Farrakhan–it’s good. Bell, along with Farrakhan and so many others, offers victimization as a consolation.

Prof. Charles Ogletree, Barack Obama's mentor said "We hid this throughout the 2008 campaign." Activists told the Cairo-based al-Akhbar daily that at least 90 Iraqi teenagers with “emo” appearances have been stoned to death by the Moral Police in the country in the past month. The violent crackdown against “emo” Iraqi teenagers came after the Iraqi interior ministry declared them as “devil worshippers.”
“The ‘Emo phenomenon’ or devil worshiping is being probed by the Moral Police who have the approval to eliminate it as soon as possible since it’s detrimentally affecting the society and becoming a danger,” a statement by the Interior Ministry said.
“They wear strange, tight clothes that have pictures on them such as skulls and use stationery that are shaped as skulls. They also wear rings on their noses and tongues, and do other strange activities,” the statement added.
The statement said that Iraq’s Moral Police was granted approval by the Ministry of Education to enter Baghdad schools and pinpoint students with Western appearances.

The GOP wins elections by playing to the wealthy who will benefit from tax cuts and special privileges. They heap taxes on the average citizen and take away programs that would lift up the poor. I can see not one reason to vote for a Republican unless you are a rich person. I have my doubts that one could win without supporters who willingly pump out millions of dollars, knowing it will bring them even more wealth and privileges. But now, even with their record, Republicans seem to have slipped a few more notches into fantasy and delusions.
It makes you wonder how U.S. conservatives ended up so detached and at odds with facts and rationality. They seem to rely on lies or the stretching of truth so thin you can see through it. The GOP has always won elections by appearing to have solutions for poor economics, and after winning, they turn tail and deregulate and cut taxes for the wealthy. A process that reached higher than even the GOPs expectations when George W. Bush was elected..

Rick Santorum is running well ahead of Romney and he is best known for his speeches about homosexuality and bestiality plus going on about the American left who hates Christianity. He also says the climate change is a hoax, part of a scheme by the left as an excuse for the government to control our lives. Ron Paul, another candidate for president published newsletters in the 90s that were raciest with declarations that the Civil Rights Act was wrong.
And again, there’s Romney. The truth is he wasn’t a severely conservative governor. His primary achievement was a health reform identical to the national reform signed into law by President Barack Obama. In a rational perspective this would be the achievement Romney would be campaigning on. But he must play this down in order to win over the primary conservative vote. One of his falsehoods was the accusation that President Obama began his presidency by apologizing for America. The Washington Post shot this one to the ground..

2005 US CBO estimates on tax cuts
In 2005, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a paper called "Analyzing the Economic and Budgetary Effects of a 10 Percent Cut in Income Tax Rates". This paper considered the impact of a stylized reduction of 10% in the then existing marginal rate of federal income tax in the US (for example, if those facing a 25% marginal federal income tax rate had it lowered to 22.5%). Unlike earlier research, the CBO paper estimates the budgetary impact of possible macroeconomic effects of tax policies, that is, it attempts to account for how reductions in individual income tax rates might affect the overall future growth of the economy, and therefore influence future government tax revenues; and ultimately, impact deficits or surpluses.
The paper's author forecasts the effects using various assumptions (e.g., people's foresight, the mobility of capital, and the ways in which the federal government might make up for a lower percentage revenue). In the paper's most generous estimated growth scenario, only 28% of the projected lost revenue from the lower tax rate would be recouped over a 10-year period after a 10% across-the-board reduction in all individual income tax rates. The paper points out that these projected shortfalls in revenue would have to be made up by federal borrowing: the paper estimates that the federal government would pay an extra $200 billion in interest over the decade covered by the paper's analysis
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laffer_curve#Criticisms
Sounds like conservatives: "Cut Taxes and BORROW MORE"
Posted by: jay | March 09, 2012 at 09:14 PM
Also, from that link:
Some have criticized elements of Reaganomics on the basis of equity. For example, economist John Kenneth Galbraith believed that the Reagan administration actively used the Laffer curve "to lower taxes on the affluent."[24] Some critics point out that tax revenues almost always rise every year and during Reagan's two terms increases in tax revenue were more shallow than increases in tax revenue during presidencies where taxes top marginal tax rates were higher.[25] Critics also point out that since the Reagan tax cuts, income has not significantly increased for the rest of the population. This assertion is supported by studies that show the income of the top 1% nearly doubling during the Reagan years, while income for other income levels increased only marginally; income actually decreased for the bottom quintile"
Under Romney the more you make, the less of a percentage you pay. While the lowest income people pay MORE in taxes.
No wonder the wealthy voted for him!

Youth in news clip are being filmed in London, not Iraq and are speaking about emo culture and not emo repression.

The FBI said he can also assassinate US citizens IN the US.

Conservative Racism: Racism that's ignored by it's followers.
remember the icecream man? Those who spoke of it, ignored their racists views.
Claim that they posted it because of a white man was killed. But, ignored that they posted it because he was killed by a blck man.
Otherwise they would have looked at it as they do a bake sell.

What do you have with 'Steve Morgan' AKA El Nutty Professor and his adopted 'hero' psychopath Jay Dumbo AKA J24/7, who says he has fotos of his Vietnam warrior days but just can't, uh, show them to anybody?
THE NUTTY AND DUMMY TROLL SHOW

What do you have if you have a person who claimed he wasn't interested in fotos. Wanted me to show them to Steve. But, begs for the fotos to be shown? Someone who knows he was caught in his attempt to change someone's past, and is trying his best to evade that fact.
THIS person is OL FLIP, himself!

///Never mind that McCain was a terrible candidate, wouldn't go full-frontal against Obama, and that the entire global economy was collapsing.//////
Thank you, Monica. It's good to see that a GOP personage can tell the truth, in public, about Mitt Romney.
Oh, wait. You meant McCain and only McCain?
Well, Princess, it's still not too late for a modified revision, is it? Or is GOP Central determined to serve turkey well before Thanksgiving this year?

By Jove!
You are spot on.
Now dare you challenge another dubious contention in the agitprop piece above?
"Each time she prayed in the film, the leftwing elites around me in the theater laughed at her. "
Were these s'amusee-bouches wearing lapel pins that read 'leftwing elite'? Maybe they glow in the dark?
Or perhaps just another projection in the theatre: the one in MM's mind.
If it happened at all then one would conclude that our host looks to be offended... and all offense has a singular source.
What say the vietnam reporter writ large?

The Karl Rove/Limbaugh Hitler/Goebbels shtick and tactics worked for awhile.
But America was stronger, and fascism simply cannot retain power for more than a decade under the best (worst) of wartime circumstances.
Buh-bye. Good riddance.
Kiss it good-bye or perish with it.

Funny, how these reverse fascist Marxoid punks still don't know how transparent they are. Half a brain can see that their reverse racism is the Nazism of the Left.
Telling such degenerates that what they're doing is simply reverse engineering Joseph Goebbels is a waste of time. The psychopath has no way of understanding 'reverse engineering.'
Look at the pseudo-intellectual troll Professor Nutty's "hero" troll J24/7. Their offal is awful.
