It was evident to me last night that Gingrich is the only candidate who will be able to fend off Obama in the final presidential debates.

By the time our nominee is selected, the debates will be largely in the hands of legacy media who are not exactly fans of conservatives. If a candidate falters or wobbles in the debates against Obama, it will be a disaster.

Newt has taken some positions in the past, when in the private sector, that I disagree with. At least he had the sense to correct those positions and admit they were in error. Our frontrunner has yet to do that.

The final debates will be an influential factor with indie voters whether we like it or not.

No Cash From Conservatives

http://spectator.org/archives/2012/01/17/no-cash-from-conservatives

With the predictable outcome. It's not like the Republicans wouldn't like to get the Senate back this year. What kind of "popular" republican candidate coat tails can they expect?

How is that going to happen with a weak front runner like Mitt Romney? A moderate squish from Massachusetts?

I get that Mitt Romney is trying to survive the primary to be last man standing by splitting the conservative vote. The man who lost to McCain who lost to Obama in 2008. The GOP always fighting the last war. There are no do overs republicans lost in 2008 you can't change history by running the looser in 2012.

Scott Brown isn't alone losing support from conservatives and TEA Party. Gov Haley South Carolina favorable rating is at 34%. Mitt Romney basically got a nothing burger from Gov Haley's endorsement. Governor Sarah Palin was polling in the 80% range when John McCain tapped her for the VP slot.

I don't care who the GOP puts in there. You could run a corpse or a headless horse and win.

Which is why they're sticking us with a real dud this time around, no matter who it is.

The Obama fad is OVER, people.

Which is why they are using every excuse in the book to give citizenship to illegals, such as a 2001 earthquake in Guatemala not to send back their illegals in 2012.

According to the Obama administration returning these illegals would be too much of a strain on that country.

He obviously doesn't care about the strain the illegals are putting on OUR country.

Too many people are on to him and even the most disillusioned R voters will run to the polls to finally get rid of the won.

yeahhhh buddy , how bout that Newt Gingrich Y'all ? You nailed it Monica in your survey of the five remaining Republican candidates . Not a flaw of distortion can i find within the narrative of each proposal thus , it shouldn't be astonishing to anyone in my offering up the suggestion that you could stand a seven foot desert cactus out of Arizona across the podium from Obama and win but then what ? How are we going to deal with this mess the anti colonialist / capitalist both abroad and state side leave behind with regard to Class Warfare and manufactured racism headed our way in the coming months ? If i've said it once i've said it a thousand times here and elsewhere that unification of our country will be the most troubling task from the moment Newt Gingrich gives his inaugural speech and Obama suddenly finds himself unemployed back Chicago ushering in the transition from a divided country into one united . Our primacy around the world , our economy , our very way of life depends on and demands our unity as a country again .
I saw you on O'Reilly last night Monica and why they do not give you your own show is beyond me . I'd like to watch you hammer Alan Colmes for at least a good half hour or so . lol

Not gonna happen. There way too many anti-White racists and bigots in America. Witness X-lax and his pet parrot right here on the Memo.

Here is another glaring example:

--------

Romney’s Threatening Whiteness

Lawrence Auster writes: "Here, as part of VFR’s observance of Martin Luther King’s birthday, is an article from the January 14 New York Times which demonstrates what modern liberalism in general and the King holiday in particular are really all about: the venomous delegitimization of white gentiles, and of anything and everything about America that was created by or is associated with white gentiles—which means, really, America itself.

The irony, as I’ve pointed out many times, is that white mainstream conservatives have long since given up any racial consciousness, given up any thought of trying to preserve white America from demographic transformation or even of defending white people from verbal and physical attacks, because, in their mind, to express any consciousness of race is immoral and racist, if you’re white. Yet the fact that white conservatives have so fully signed on to the right-liberal agenda of race-blindness and white suicide gains them no credit with the racially conscious, openly anti-white left-liberals. The fact that the conservatives are still white and not formally a part of the liberal faction makes them weird, disgusting, “privileged,” always vaguely or blatantly menacing, and barely human.

I should also add that it is not irrelevant that the author of this anti-white article is Jewish. Notwithstanding that America has been the most philo-Semitic country in history, many left-liberal Jews have a deep-seated animus against white gentiles and will be content with nothing less than their total dispossession."

I’ve bolded the most pungent passages from Lee Siegel’s article.

What’s Race Got to Do With It?
By LEE SIEGEL

Mitt Romney may not have officially clinched the Republican nomination, but his victory has never really been in doubt. Nor has his viability in November: the most fanatical Tea Partiers are not about to withhold their votes and risk allowing President Obama to be re-elected.

Pundits have already begun the endless debate over whether Mr. Romney’s wealth and religion are hindrances or assets. But there has yet to be any discussion over the one quality that has subtly fueled his candidacy thus far and could well put him over the top in the fall: his race. The simple, impolitely stated fact is that Mitt Romney is the whitest white man to run for president in recent memory.

Exactly. Romney would beat the Bama handily if he is indeed chosen for the job. The proverbial 7-foot cactus someone has mentioned before would beat the Bama in a landslide more resembling of a tsunami than anything in American election history.

While the pundits talk about the "independents" I AM TALKING ABOUT THE RESIGNED NON-VOTING MAJORITY who will come out in unprecedented numbers to vote for the white cactus just so they can rid the Nation of this abomination of an administration.

Why do you think the media keep talking up the "independents" while they ignore the NON-VOTERS, who are the LARGEST VOTING BLOC OF ALL?

I think the answer is OBVIOUS.

There's another way Perry may have done better. Even conservatives are pounding Perry for using "vulture capitalist" against Romney and Bain Capital. Perry may have done better by reminding everybody that the term "vulture capitalism" came from Team Romney itself a few years ago.

POLITICO////By MAGGIE HABERMAN |

Rick Perry has no regrets, at least when it comes to "vulture" capitalism.

The Texas governor and presidential hopeful used the comment to describe Mitt Romney's tenure at Bain Capital last week, and when asked whether he has "any regrets for using that phrase" by George Stephanopoulos on ABC News's "This Week," he replied:

"It's not a new phrase. It was used by Stuart Stevens, who was one of Mitt Romney's consultants, against Meg Whitman. I think the issue for everyone is, look, this is something that we knew wasn't going to come up. And it's better to be talking about it here in January in South Carolina than it is in September and October with a nominee. So if it's a fatal flaw, then we need to talk about it now."

Stevens, now Romney's ad-maker, was the consultant for Whitman rival Steve Poizner in the GOP primary for California governor last year, when the phrase was used in an ad featuring vultures. Whitman, the former eBay CEO, is a Romney backer.

gringoNOTE: Okay. Apologies to Perry for alleging that he never told anybody where "vulture capitalist" came from. OTOH, why haven't we heard more of this, while the GOP has pounded Perry relentlessly for using a term that originated with their Chosen One, Willard?

In your dreams, Princess. A handful of desperate Zionists and the MSM they unfortunately have an undue influence over, yes; the American People at large, oh, hell no.

And the isolationists were right in 1940 too. Pearl Harbor was purposely caused by sanctions against Japan.

And the Russians would have kicked Hitler's as*s without us.

And even if the USSR had taken all of Europe (doubtful), it would have collapsed anyway under the weight of its own fascism (disguised as socialism) perhaps even sooner than the 80's.

Instead of America becoming a fascist state with a revolving corporate plutocracy in charge of a nation on a permanent wartime footage to defeat Hitlerian fascism, we should have kept out of it and let the Russians become that fascist state. Fascism always ends badly and imperialism, no matter the high-sounding motives, always collapses under its own weight.

And precious Israel would have still be created without us. Only it wouldn't have been our problem, it would have been the Soviet Union's.

Buck,

It's true that DJ used to slam Governor Perry and question the analytical ability of those who did not slam him. But DJ, as he will admit, is still more taken by a female Congresswoman who can talk well in a red meat vein, than by a man who has actually governed a huge enterprise like Texas for 11 years, and understands his 1200-mile border like the red-meaters who talk the talk from far-away regions cannot even if they wanted to.

But this should be said for DJ. He is educable, as we now see in his softening on Governor Perry. True, his jumping on Club Gooper's bandwagon for Wall Street Willard, leads one to wonder if he is "educable" enough. But who knows? DJ once practically threw Sarah Palin to the wolves for supporting in AZ Senate race the man who put her in orbit--John McCain. It seemed like he would never forgive her for that.

Can DJ escape his current euphoria for Mandate Mitt?

Probably not. But who knows? He might notice that even the troll trash leans Willard, let alone Bush, McCain and Rovie. He might begin to wonder why.
