Romney is it, he's the best chance against Obama, but even that's slim and none.

The others? Compete impossible non-starters.

Me? I'll throw my vote to write-in Roehmer in protest if Obama most unwisely runs with Biden. Given the GOP disenfranchisement at the polls Holder won't be able to stop in time, Obama's going to need Hillary to even squeek through. And if they think otherwise, that will be their tactical mistake. And the sooner they do it the stronger they look. The only thing that will look weak is doing it last minute.

But I'm not going to ever vote for Romney, that's for sure. Not after the rightwing insane monster the GOP has made of him.

And the other maniacs? Yeah, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright.

Chief Joe

Romney is loosing traction. First, he seems too much like the heir apparent- almost a royal personage, rather than running on the issues. SEcond, Newt is scoring big pts by mentioning Bain, and how Romney ran small businesses out of business.

That is really a serious concern. He tells us that small business is the big new employer, but these financial groups pump and dump these businesses. The large lateral development of monopolistic companies, is killing small business, and innovation.

Chief Joe

A rep for the AMA, was on the telly, and said that doctors are nearly destitute with taking in insurance-less patients and all that. He suggested you ask your doctor how he's doing, just to make sure he is okay, and making it - paying the bills.

Well, I am actually afraid to ask because of the possible reaction that he thinks I do not respect him, and tells me to see another doctor. Rather than that, I might ask him if he is a member of a union of association, or an investor in an insurance company. If teachers ought not have a union because they are paid with public funds and this is reprehensible because public servants are deciding if other public servants should obtain a raise, then …. Aren't doctors in this same boat, getting approval from Congress, for increased payouts for medical care, and using public pressure of their associations to bear? If Congress approves, do Congressmen get stock benefits? PAC support? Oh, YEAH! Medical care is one of their favorites. Something like this can be taken too far.

We should ask our legislators how their doing. Enough aid and care from medical? Just wondering… hoping they are doing alright. They should not receive medicare benefits, nor should the well-heeled. It is a matter of principle.

Monica mentions Perry but not Roemer?

Perry doesn't have a chance.

xbjllb

Romney will win the nomination, because a moderate is the only GOP who could even come close to winning against Obama, but will lose the election as the quintessential corporate marauder.

Which, unfortunately for him, he is.

Blame the tea party fringe whackjobs who pulled the party so far to the right each bastard had to fight for the maniac bottom to try and hold them.

It's the classic case of absolute evil backfiring absolutely. The Koch Brothers tried to take over the party with their astroturfing TP escapades, and all it did was destroy the party and rip it to backbiting shreds.

A perfect and MOST fitting end for right wing big buisness obeisance fascism in the USA.

America. Love it or leave it.

xbjllb

Perry is still a wet dream for antiChrist lusting southern christianists.

Impossible, yes. But wet? Certainly.

xbjllb

And remember. Perry is the Satanic offense contractors' dream date who deep throats and swallows.

Troops right back in Iraq? He's your man.

Insane? Absolutely and equivocably.

xbjllb

The BEST thing about 2012. Even with Obama not doing ANYTHING, not a SINGLE THING, even with all the impossilbe desperate lies about the man and his positions and policies, the STARK CONTRAST between the insane warmongering big biz fellating right wing in this country and the left, out for the 99%, couldn't be more apparent. By the Kochheads pulling the GOP to the absolutely Nazi far right, there's really NO contest at all. Only the 1% could desperately vote GOP, and if this circus keeps up, it's all they will get too.

xbjllb

The Tea Party RUINED Romney and any chance he had of getting the independent moderate vote.

The Tea Party was a handful of fringe racist dinosaurs and thousands of bussed-in Koch Industries employees in hideous hats and "Let's Make A Deal" costumes. Who just happened to vote in 2010 when no one else thought it mattered.

Well, that "no one else" knows it matters now, and 2012 will be a debacle for the right.

And justifiably so. Troops back in Iraq? Really?

How about concentration death camps for lefties? And why stop there?

BIRTH CONTROL ILLEGAL FOR ALL? REPEAL ROE VS. WADE? Yeah, THAT stopped teen sex the first sixty years it was tried.

Insane. Absolutely insane. And ultimately, the ULTIMATE EVIL.

xbjllb

Isn't it strange, that, except for the idiot GOP candidates trying to pander to something that NO LONGER EXISTS, the official Tea Party per se disappeared the very second black Michael Steele was no longer the head of the GOP and white Reice Priebus was?

Duh.

Lesson: "You can put all the foreign nigrahs you want in the White House, but don't you dare make one the head of our party, or one an actual CANDIDATE unless he's thoroughly white supremacist like us and plantation housetrained."

Yep, Tea Party. Got it. MESSAGE RECEIVED.

xbjllb

And why is the GOP so desperate to increase the birthrate in the US?

Two words. Cannon fodder. They know, with they way they, the 1%, intend on fully turning the United States of America into a third-world country with Chinese wages and slave labor, that "them Goddamn Mixicans'll quit coming."

And when that happens, there will be no one to fight the moneymaking wars for the right fat old white men of the GOP and their johns.

Can't have that. Need more babies. More poor. More misery. More poor so they'll JOIN the military out of DESPERATION in the first place.

See how these people think? See their thought processes? See the absolute evil and greed THAT DRIVES EVERY SINGLE LAST GODDAMNED THING THEY DO?

The GOP wants to save babies. TO GROW UP POOR AND DESPERATE ENOUGH TO THROW THEIR MISERABLE LIVES AWAY TO MAKE THEM EVEN RICHER.

Prey. Nothing more. Because you can't ever have a draft, because then the people will rise up like they did in the 60's and end the wars before you can TURN THE PROFIT.

xbjllb

"Like Libya. Goddamned war stopped LONG BEFORE offense contractors could get in there, really get IN there and make a Goddamned dime!

You don't run a war that way! Ask John McCain! No American casualties? What is this, Clinton pussyfooting with NATO around the Balkans?

Where is the BLOOD sacrifice to Satan? Where are the US DEAD BODIES?

And where are the political tribute contributions from the offense contractors?

Why, HELL. No one MADE A DIME OFF LIBYA.

Goddamn Democrats. No idea WHATSOEVER how to run this country."

///The Hot and Cold Guy. Newt Gingrich's campaign has been exactly like the candidate himself: blowing hot and cold. What attracted voters to him in November and December was his big brain, seriousness of purpose---and positive energy. He'd throw his fellow GOP candidates lifelines in debates, he kept the focus on Obama, and he pounded the leftist media. GOP voters ate it up. We were parched for someone who looked like he was actually having fun out there. Then Newt's poll numbers began to spike and he went negative, attacking his rivals, getting bitter about press coverage and looking pained to be out there rather than looking like he was having the time of his life. An erratic campaign points to an erratic candidate, and that's not good. I respect Newt's intellect so much. We'll see what he does today.////

In puffing Romney, Princess neglects to mention a "little detail" in Gingrich's transition from "Good Newt" to "Baaaaaaaaaaad Newt."

The "Presidential" Romney managed to deflate Newt's soaring poll numbers, yes---but only by unleashing the greatest negative ad bombardement in GOP primary history.

To quote baaaaaaaaaaaaad Newt Gingrich, "Let's drop the pious baloney."

Does Monica have a clue as to what the Class War Obamanation is going to drop on Club Gooper's, Libworld's and Obamasuck Media's selection of the Mormon Corporate Raider, Mandate Mitt, after they anoint him?

well , if i've posted it once in here i've posted it half a dozen times in that you could stand a 7 foot desert cactus out of arizona across the podium from obama and succeed , thats not the question whether or not republicans regain the white house . The question is " then what " ? We americans are fixing to face more fabricated class warfare and racism on a scale unlike any as far back as the civil war . I believe it's crucial that unity of our country is first , everything else follows that and i'm not talking 100 % unification but someone that will be able to display a lil balance after defeating Obama , it's my opinion that Gingrich is the ticket , electing another rich white boy like Romney to topple Obama i believe will prove to be a disaster for our country after this election .

CARL PALADINO BACKS NEWT

Benjy Sarlin January 8, 2012, 4:41 PM 7103177
MANCHESTER, NH — Ron Paul’s about to “get on the mother-ship and go back to the mother planet,” Rick Perry’s going nowhere unless it’s to “hang around the shooting range,” and Jon Huntsman clearly loves the Chinese so much he “should move to China.”

So says former New York gubernatorial candidate and current Newt Gingrich supporter Carl Paladino.

I met the former tea party favorite lurking behind the bar at Don Quixote’s Mexican restaurant here in Manchester, as Gingrich delivered a lengthy, impassioned pitch to Latino voters about comprehensive immigration reform.

Still, passionate though Gingrich was, Paladino got somewhat distracted at times.

“What is that you’re wolfing down?” he said after a plate of lukewarm quesadillas arrived in front of me. “It’s disgusting, what is this sheeyat?”

This is how Paladino, the proudly crude upstate New Yorker who improbably won the GOP nomination in 2010 en route to being blown out by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, makes friends on the road. He’s in town to lend his support to Gingrich, whom he says he has long supported but only backed publicly about a month ago when he discovered to his horror that the New York Republican establishment was lining up behind Mitt Romney.

“I thought it was absolutely stupid,” he said. “It’s not the will of the rank and file Republicans, the rank and file want change, they don’t want any more plastic Republican leadership that keeps eating at the trough like all the rest of these bureaucrats we’ve put there in the past.”

He has no love for the rest of the GOP field, who he says will soon melt away in favor of Newt.

“As we narrow the candidates there’s Newt because all the rest of them are toast,” he said. “Ron Paul’s going to get on the mother-ship and go back to the mother planet. You got Huntsman, he’s going to go live in China. Perry wants a job, he’s going to go the shooting range and hang around there awhile. I mean this is nonsense — it’s all bullscheis.”

Huntsman in particular rubbed him the wrong way by speaking Chinese on stage in the previous debate.

“‘Oh, the Chinese are so strong,’ what the fooka is wrong with these people?” he said. “He should move to China.”

That’s not to say he doesn’t like the cut of Newt’s jib. According to Paladino, Gingrich is “intelligent, he’s got institutional history, he understands what happens in the past, he puts things into perspective, he’s candid, he’s transparent, he has nothing to hide, he’ll tell you if he doesn’t like something.”

“And he can cry, too, and I think that’s a sign of strength,” he added. “You know, he got emotional thinking about his mom, just like Boehner, he gets emotional thinking abut the hardship his parents went through in raising him. I think that’s awesome.”

Conservatives have criticized Gingrich for backing Dede Scozzafava in a 2009 special election in Paladino’s state of New York over an insurgent Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman. The race became a disaster for the GOP as Scozzafava dropped out, endorsed the Democrat, who ended up winning the conservative-leaning seat. But Paladino says it’s old news.

“Listen, do you have any flaws? Did you ever fooka up?” he said. “Let’s stop the nonsense.”

Posters in this thread re Rove & Morris: Please read this.
pttx333 Wednesday, January 4th at 11:33PM EST (link)
There will be no Rove in Perry’s corner. Let me tell you about Rove – he is soooo in the tank for Romney, along with the Bushies, the GOP establishment, et al. A paid “consultant” is what it is called. Well, in our last Texas Governor’s race, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison decided she wanted to come back to Texas and be the Governor so she wouldn’t have to live in D.C. any more, and, besides, she “deserved” to do so. The Bushies, masterminded by Rove (paid “consultant” of course), began the most dirty, filthy, negative campaign against Perry I’ve ever seen – some of it so dirty that it is unspeakable here on RS. Then there was Bill White (D), former mayor of Houston, who decided he would get in the race, along with a couple of others – they all began their dirty stuff. Add in the trial lawyers (didn’t like that Perry had brought about tort reform in Texas – cut into their huge profits, doncha know). But guess who won in spite of it all? Guess who won handily? Bingo, it was Perry!!!

Then there is Dick Morris. What a silly, foolish, petty little pimp he is! He is a paid mouth, and that is about it.

Now, what has been the common thread with any of these folks spreading their garbage? Probably the number one thing is that “Perry is DUMB.” Would any of you care to tell me how any sitting Governor who has been elected three times as my Governor (a record), who holds records all across this nation for economy, jobs, industry, etc., is DUMB?

For everyone’s information here – which I’m certain is obvious – I am a staunch Perry supporter and will remain that way. No wavering, no faltering, no second-guessing, no looking at the latest flash in the pan – none of that. My feet are completely stuck in concrete, and I will stand by his side all the way – period. The reasons for that are many – I am a 71 year-old female who has lived long enough to have voted the first time I could for Barry Goldwater, and, other than Reagan, Rick Perry is the one who is the best candidate with the most solid record, the best character, plans for this nation, and so on, that I’ve ever seen. I’ve lived it, seen it, and have been a political junkie for most of my life. So, as Rush would say “Don’t doubt me.”

Hope this rant of mine gives a little insight into the real goings-on here – and one in which Faux News (a former all-time favorite of mine) is trying to manipulate our election for Romney. Take that to the bank.

Take this to the bank: FOX is in the tank for Romney because they know he's the only one with a chance in hell of winning. They know, more than ANYBODY else, the EXACT numbers of right wing idiots out there they've been trying to pump up a bubble around so they don't know they're the VAST MINORITY.

Gingrinch, Santorum, Perry, even Huntsman... not a chance in hell. Perry, especially. The Mideast wars are OVER as far as the VAST majority of the American People are concerned; there is more than enough economic woe at home to deal with for the foreseeable future.

And when Ron Paul runs independent, kiss it all good-bye. Even Romney won't win then.

The right wing has NOBODY.

ERIC ERICCSON////I think Rick Perry can reboot. I think he can start raising money again. I think he has the money to compete in South Carolina.

But he has to sharpen his conservative-populist economic message, sell his biography as a farmer/veteran/job creator, and he has to fight like hell.

The odds are long, but it is possible. Gingrich will destroy Romney, potentially hurting himself, and I do not believe Santorum will survive the vetting process. That leaves an opening for a genuinely repentant and rebooted Rick Perry to get one last look in South Carolina.

gringoNOTE: Of course the odds are increasingly overwhelming that the GOP will nominate the guy that Club Gooper wants but only one out of every four GOP voters really wants. And you know who that is.

WHY WALL STREET IS INVESTED IN ROMNEY AS MUCH AS IN OBAMA

greg gunter usawatchdog,com///I think the Democrats and President Obama would like nothing more than to run against the man who thinks “corporations are people too.” Mitt Romney would be predictable and would not go after the real issues that are holding America back. The main issue is the fraud and rip-offs in the financial system. There will be no recovery and little job creation unless and until the banks and Wall Street are no longer able to rig the system so they always win. There should also be some prosecutions, but I digress. Romney, who couldn’t get much more than 25% of the Iowa Republican vote, will be very beatable for Mr. Obama. Both are the picks of Super PAC corporations. Santorum would just be the Republican replacement for Romney if he can hold up after Iowa.
