The Republican presidential candidates displayed the patience of Job last night as they fended off ridiculous and largely stupid questions from the CNBC "moderators." Here they were, on a business network, having to school business "anchors" on how business works. Good on them. They all performed really well, stuck it to Obama, the Left and the media while advancing positive conservative agendas on tax reform and economic growth. Well done by all.
A few additional comments:
Mitt Romney: He was his usual cautious self, which is helping him maintain his lead position, but the caution is also really boring. Necessary to prevent screw-ups, but boring. Marry that to his inability to deal with questions about individual mandates in health care and the fact that he's not a small government conservative, and well, ho hum.
Rick Perry: His performance was actually quite stellar. The best debate performance we've seen from him so far---which isn't saying a lot, I know. Debating ain't his bag. But his answers were clear and concise and conservative. Until the brainfart. We've all been there. We can relate to it. It was painful to watch, and he tried gamely to regroup once he had remembered the third federal department he'd eliminate (Energy, which along with his other two, Education and Commerce DO need to go). He appeared on several morning shows to do damage control and spun it in an amusing way. His campaign asked people: "which federal agency would YOU like to forget?" Good rebound. But here's the reality: GOP voters will not send him into a debate with Obama. Sad for Perry, but true.
Which brings us to Newt Gingrich. As usual, he was dynamite: brilliant, deliberative and right about everything. Now that we all realized that we're less than a year from the presidential election, we're trying to visualize the presidential debates. Which of the GOP candidates could thrust and parry with Obama most effectively? All of them would do a great job. Only Newt would truly make mincemeat out of him. That's the main reason he's rising in the polls. He's a serious conservative intellectual who is fearless.
Herman Cain: He did a fantastic job of turning back those invasive and insulting questions about the allegations and turning to his economic solutions for the country. Cain has shown himself to be a political novice---which is why so many voters are drawn to him---but also a strong, forceful voice for conservative, free market principles. He may be dented by the allegations and how he's handled them (which hasn't been particularly good). But he lives to fight on another day.
The other candidates acquitted themselves marvelously. All were smart, thoughtful and self-possessed. Any of them would be light years better than Barack Obama and would set the country back on its rightful path.
In the end, I think it's going to largely end up being a two-man race between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.
Let the games begin.
If Obama OK's this, he's a bigger idiot than anyone ever knew. Not that it matters whether he okays it or not. Israel is our 51st rogue state, and China has already let the US know on many occasions and in many ways to keep our bombs of their oil in Iran.
Not smart, but probably inevitable. Oi vey.

I agree with you seebee. I can't believe how RACIST the LIEberal media is about this and they haven't proven anything. NBC should be really proud of all the RACIST remarks broadcast from their "news shows".

If, Cain had been a Democrat, the conservative media would be on him to a strong degree.
Look at their ignoring the Ensign scandal before.
But, Cain being one of theirs . their reaction,"So, big deal!"

I wish I had a collection of the clips Hannity has been playing. They are trying to discredit a successful, accomplished Conservative Black man. Herman Cain himself has admitted he's been called an "Uncle Tom" and "Oreo" in the past. Now, that he is doing so well in the poles, her comes the hit machine. One LIEberal woman discussed how the color of Cain's accuser plays into a stereotype while David Gregory said something about a "Grand Wizard" to rein Cain in. Besides, what would happen if Cain was white. Hint: what happened to Bill Clinton?

In her column today, Monica is infatuated with Gingrich and wants him to be president. And she was infatuated with him last week on Fox. He was the guest and she was the guest host. And judging from the way he looked at her, the affection is mutual. I wonder how Callista feels about the growing affection between her husband and Monica.
I don't want Newt to be president, but I want Callista to be first lady. Is it possible to have Callista as first lady without Newt being president?
There's been talk about Obama ditching Biden. But Biden is a fine VP. I wonder how Obama feels about Callista. I wonder how Callista feels about Obama.
Obama has the courage and confidence to do that which has never been done before. And he has the proven ability to do that which has never been done before.
Callista would be the greatest first lady in history. She would be powerful. She is a woman who would have a significant impact on any man possessing her. Her wish would be his command.
Cheney was the first and only VP to rule the country. And if Callista ever becomes first lady, she would rule. She would be a first lady who rules. She will be the Cheney of first ladies. But she has to marry a winner.

DEBATE COVERAGE: Mitt Romney Locks It Up In Detroit (So says GE's Obamasuck Media. However.....)
Within seconds of Rick Perry's onstage collapse last night, the political world had almost unanimously declared the time of death for the Texas Governor's presidential campaign.
But Perry's spectacular meltdown may end up being the best thing that ever happened to his lagging White House bid.

Rick Perry made a big-time gaffe last night on the CNBC debate. So?
Perry’s debate skills are keeping him from returning to Tier 1 candidate status. Oh?
Do you think last night’s debate will hurt him long term? No.
Do you think he should just pack it in and return to Texas? H–l, NO!
But what I do think is that we witnessed one of the worst debate moderator panels to date. Combative and downright rude. Perry actually handled the gaffe pretty well with humor and spontaneity, and it could have ended right after the EPA comment, but the whatshisname? moderator was intent on adding to the embarrassment quotient.
While I’m on file lately as leaning Newt, if it were Perry v. Obama on the 2012 debate stage, the contrast would be remarkable, and ya know, I think we’d all be in for a pleasant surprise.

Hitler wasn't an out-of-the-closet self-accepting homosexual. That happens to be history and everyone knows it.
What he was, was a self-hating latent homosexual who saw homos as the downfall of Western Civilization and popped them into concentration camps. After he killed all of them in the SS.
Just like you are, and like you'd love to. No one ever caught him with another man or a boy like your favorite football coach, who, if he was gay, was also self-hating and could only act out with boys who wouldn't tell so the world wouldn't know he was gay and hanging around with "queers".
You and your ilk are pathetic. You wouldn't even WANT to be healed by Christ, even if you believed in Him for a second.
I cannot help you any longer; time is shorter than ever. I will, however, CONTINUE TO INDICT YOU.

Good to see Steve Croft taking on Pelosi and Boehner. Of course, like Martha Stewart, they know nothing about this. Should Steve just say, they all do it - in Washington, and NYC. There is no investigation, no enforcement, no probes ....
I get stopped, when people tell me to say nothing. What would happen if everyone thought Washington is crooked, and all involved in insider trading?
My answer is, they would sell, baby, sell - and that would start Washington thinking about reform.

Commies went into law, to get established. Get a law degree in NY in one month, including a fake score on the state bar exam. It was hard to pass the exam, straight. Just ask GEORGE.
Gays in the statehouse - are fairly common, sometimes entire departments, mostly occupied by Gays and Lesbians, with a little window dressing. The linkages between the statehouse, the justice department, and state universities, is exposed in Pennsylvania through the Gay network. Obviously, anything can go on there without outside scrutiny.
I often wondered why state governments did not take on ethics violations at their universities.

In Italy, would you rather have Angelo Alfano, a homegrown Italian son, or Mario Monti, the Bilderburger?
Do Italians get to vote? Look for smoke coming from the Vatican? No. The banks will decide, depending on public unrest. If you are good, you get the Monti.
You look, and your country is in trouble because of the banks, then you try to save your country by borrowing from the banks, and then, voilla, the banks show you a trick to save yourself by letting them take over your country. It was a subprime loan.

Black rule and bankruptcy
Paul Kersey writes:
The largest municipal bankruptcy in American history has been declared in Jefferson County, Alabama, home of Birmingham (the Detroit of the South).
This is the fate that awaits all cities where white flight has completely eroded the tax base. America is so screwed.
Here is the beginning of Mr. Kersey’s article:
What happens when a county, home to one of the former great cities in the world, turned over to the auspices the Black Undertow through white flight, can no longer raise enough tax revenue to pay infrastructure bills? Answer: the largest municipal bankruptcy in American history.…
Jefferson County offers frightening proof of the overwhelming power of Black-Run America (BRA) and what happens when the Black Undertow takes control of a city’s destiny.

The following, in large part, is what caused white flight in Memphis starting 38 years ago. Here we go again.
-------
Merger of Memphis and County School Districts Revives Race and Class Challenges
Sam Dillon, New York Times, November 5, 2011
When thousands of white students abandoned the Memphis schools 38 years ago rather than attend classes with blacks under a desegregation plan fueled by busing, Joseph A. Clayton went with them. He quit his job as a public school principal to head an all-white private school and later won election to the board of the mostly white suburban district next door.
Now, as the overwhelmingly black Memphis school district is being dissolved into the majority-white Shelby County schools, Mr. Clayton is on the new combined 23-member school board overseeing the marriage. And he warns that the pattern of white flight could repeat itself, with the suburban towns trying to secede and start their own districts.
“There’s the same element of fear,” said Mr. Clayton, 79. “In the 1970s, it was a physical, personal fear. Today the fear is about the academic decline of the Shelby schools.”
“As far as racial trust goes,” Mr. Clayton, who is white, added, “I don’t think we’ve improved much since the 1970s.”
The merger—a result of actions by the Memphis school board and City Council, a March referendum and a federal court order—is the largest school district consolidation in American history and poses huge logistical challenges. {snip}
{snip}
Federally ordered busing in 1973 provoked white flight, with about 40,000 of the system’s 71,000 white students abandoning the system in four years.
{snip}
Despite the current inequality, nobody expects the demographics of schools to change much, because most students in both districts are assigned to neighborhood schools and housing tends to be segregated.
{snip}
Mr. Clayton, who was the principal of two traditionally white Memphis high schools from 1964 to 1973, won election in 1998 to the Shelby County school board, where he and his colleagues were shocked when the Memphis board first voted for the merger.
“We all tried to figure out how to stop it,” he said.
They have not given up. The legislature passed a law in February that, as of September 2013, lifts a prohibition on the formation of autonomous school districts, and five of the six Shelby County suburbs have hired consultants to study the finances of breaking away.

Thanx but no thanx, Ummahgummah.
A month or so ago I was emailed by a friend who told me I've got to check out the "madhouse" at Monica's Memo website, so I did. What I found was a few intelligent commenters engulfed in a black-hole of insanity and stupidity. I find XBJLLB and Jay to be especially disruptive - particularly Jay. Someone here -- I forget who -- pointed out Jay has the mind of a child. That is painfully obvious. I approximate Jay's mental age to be somewhere around that of a nine year old - and an obnoxious nine year old at that. His obnoxious childlike demeanor is punctuated by his slight variation of Pee Wee Herman's "I know you are but what am I" method of argumentation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs4Gj7JsET4
The depth of his ignorance is both breathtaking and mind-numbing at the same time. But in Pee Wee Herman's defence, he is a fictional character whose script was written for him. In Jay and XBJLLB's case, it's reality writing itself.
So again, no thanx.
In closing, what really confounds me is why Monica Crowley, a very classy intelligent lady, allows her blog to be defecated on, 24/7, by the likes of Jay and XBJLLB et al.
Arrivederci!
