There are two special congressional elections today. One is in New York's 9th district to fill the seat vacated by the family jewel-Tweeting Anthony Weiner. The other is in Nevada's 2nd district. The races are being closely watched as they are considered both referenda on Barack Obama and possible bellwethers for 2012.
Nevada's district is considered a relatively safe GOP stronghold, although there are parts of it that lean Democrat, so nothing is a sure bet. If you live in NV-2, get out today and vote for Republican Mark Amodei.
New York's district comprises parts of Brooklyn and Queens and is heavily Democrat. Recent polls show either a tie between Republican Bob Turner and Democrat David Weprin or Turner ahead. Do not feel assured or complacent. This is, after all, a district that went wildly for both Obama and Weiner. When he resigned, Weiner said that his worst nightmare would be for that seat to go Republican. Let's make sure that happens.
In both races, if you live in those districts, please vote for the GOP candidate. If you don't live there, visualize their wins the way athletes do. We need to force the lamestream press to print this headline tomorrow: "GOP Sweeps Special Elections."
Send a message to Obama and the big government, big spending zanies running the country right now: we're done indulging you. You're over. And we are sending Republicans backup the way we sent them backup in November 2009 and 2010.
Let's rock.

Viewing the debate from an objective perspective, there were four candidates on stage last night that demonstrated they would lose to Obama. Those are: Paul, Dunceman, Santorum, and Perry.
I strongly suspect Perry's front running status is nothing more than a liberal-elite/establishment creation, i.e., a media manipulation. It has been ever since he announced he was running.
Moreover, even Sarah Palin criticized Perry after the debate last night. She not only slammed him for mandating HVP vaccines, she said words to the effect: the magnitude of the transgression is further compounded by the crony capitalism connected to it.
Then there is the issue of illegal immigration, which Perry is abysmal.

But, back then taxes were at 91% dropped to 77% in 1964. Which is still FAR higher than the 25% that Paul Ryan wants.
http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Docid=213
What Conservatives always want to say is that this President cut taxes. But, taxes were still higher than they are now.
When Bush cut taxes to 35%, THAT'S when the Huge debt started again. Should have left Clinton's 39% alone. But, to a Conservative, "If It's working, BREAK IT!"
TOO Low taxes does more harm than too high. Eisenhower was able to take those 91% rates and have a balanced budget in 1956.

Low ones only made the rich richer. At the expense of the middle class.
