The carnage of the Obama economy continues.
A partial list of the most recent economic catastrophes:
A volatile stock market, including a major slide this week; a stinkbomb of a debt deal that will only exacerbate the debt crisis; an atrocious jobs situation, with unemployment going to 9.1%, but only because 200,000 people stopped looking for work entirely; non-existent GDP growth; manufacturing slowing to a crawl; a housing sector still in collapse; and consumer confidence at a two year low.
All of this is a direct result of the Obama policies of the past 3 years: the massive expansion of government, unprecedented spending, record-breaking deficits and debt, and socialized medicine. Those wicked wealth redistribution policies have undermined and weakened the free market, replacing it with ever-encroaching central economic planning and government control. The government sector is running over the private sector, leaving it bleeding in the middle of the road.
It's not a big mystery why the economy is a staggering, gasping mess. And to think: it's all by design.

Then, I guess the socialists are the capitalists.
Since, as Rafe linked days ago. According to the capitalist J.P. Morgan. It's the rich waging warfare on the middle class.
So, Gringoman.
Who is REALLY raging warfare on the middle class?
The socialists or the wealthy?
can't have it both ways.
Could say the socialists to try to make a point.
But, several of the wealthy are saying, otherwise.

Small-minded fringette can't seem to get anything "straight".
Why did S&P downgrade US credit rating?
Per Reuters:
"The agency said that policymaking and political institutions had weakened in the past few months 'to a degree more than we envisioned.' This has major implications for the nation's budget and debt problems.
For example, S&P NOW ASSUMES THAT THE TAX CUTS BROUGHT IN UNDER PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH IN 2001 AND 2003 WOULD NOT, AS PLANNED, EXPIRE BY 2012 BECAUSE OF STAUNCH REPUBLICAN OPPOSITION TO ANY MEASURE THAT WOULD RAISE REVENUES"
http://news.yahoo.com/p-reconsidering-u-downgrade-cnbc-001207261.html
No Ms. Crowley, the downgrade is not due to Obama's "wicked" socialist policies; just GOP fringe-driven stupidity.

Ross Perot's message/warning to America was absolutely correct back in 92. In reality what needs to be done to save us from economic disaster is address the Medicare,Medicaid, Social Security problem whilst allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire. Our elected leaders need to demonstrate the discipline to shrink the size of government whilst utilizing the increased tax revenues to pay down the debt. If that doesn't happen, the dollar will continue to be devalued thus real widespread poverty will visit America.

And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold

The arbitrary blood libel of "racist" Tea Partiers has been discredited time and time again. Which doesn't stop racist MarXXXobot drones from repeating the race libel ad nauseam.
I guess they think it helps to disrupt the productive flow of conversation among the regulars here.
Even the casual reader understands that the KKK was founded by RATS and that Jim Crow was a RAT as was Robert KKK Byrd.
RAT FACTOID as per Wikipedia:
Robert Byrd
Senator Robert Byrd was a Kleagle, a Klan recruiter, in his 20s and 30s.
West Virginia's Democratic United States Senator Robert C. Byrd was a recruiter for the Klan while in his 20s and 30s, rising to the title of Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of his local chapter. After leaving the group, Byrd spoke in favor of the Klan during his early political career. Though he claimed to have left the organization in 1943, Byrd wrote a letter in 1946 to the group's Imperial Wizard stating "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia." Byrd defended the Klan in his 1958 U.S. Senate campaign when he was 41 years old.[10]
Despite being the only Senator to vote against both African American U.S. Supreme Court nominees (liberal Thurgood Marshall and conservative Clarence Thomas) and filibustering the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Byrd has since said joining the Klan was his "greatest mistake." The NAACP gave him a 100% rating on their issues during the 108th Congress.[11] However, in a 2001 incident Byrd repeatedly used the phrase "white niggers" on a national television broadcast.[12]

Ummah,
I don't think liberalism and low IQ are correlated. There are plenty of high IQ whitelibs around, e.g. college professors, particularly in the humanities departmants. A more pertinent question is: Is liberalism an acquired mental disorder or is it a heritable genetic defect? Maybe both?
Posted by: DJ | August 07, 2011 at 01:35 PM
Gringoman,
The answer can be found in the skewed version of egalitarianism they are wedded to. The left-liberal intelligentsia believe in distributive justice over procedural justice; they value equality of outcomes over equality of opportunity or equality of process.
If you present them with the uncomfortable truth, it short circuits their brain thus they get hysterical. Under ordinary circumstances it would be comical. But, alas, these mentally deformed creatures weaseled their way into power and ruthlessly wield it over us.
Posted by: DJ | August 06, 2011 at 09:21 AM
DJ,
'Distributive justice.' 'Procedural justice'? Who are these "rich" or "left-lib intelligentsia"? I don't know of any of Obama's crony capitalists and Wall Streeters or his over=paid army of triple figure tax-sucking bureaucrats who want to "redistribute" their income to make it "equal" to the poor. I can't find it in Obama's tax-dodging GE Chairman Imelt, or his tax-dodging SecTreasury Timothy Geithner or John Kerry trying to beat taxes on his rich wife's yacht, or the great libnik Kennedy clan of trust fund babies.
Where are these true believers?
Maybe you can find them in TAX DA RICH troll trash statmongers, but what income do such half-wits have already to redistribute? The idiots will never get their greasy hands on any of the Kennedy clan's sheltered wealth, so who's jiving who?

Speaking of liberation, have we been "liberated" from needing a quote from "S & P"? You know, a quote that will let the rational see what S & P really said. That way the rational can observe whether we're seeing a spin job on S & P===spinning a desired conclusion, enabling the spinner to escape from fact.
Or should we consider ourselves "liberated" from all that?
ps Will we even be "liberated" from other spin tricks? e.g. that old "liberating" standby--- giving a link, with the instruction to go find what I can't give you? Are we "liberated" from instructing the Liberator to give us the quote he implies damns the G.O.P. and spares the Dems? Or is it better to be "liberated" with just the link?

Why is most of this country's taxes taken from the top 1-5%. Are they taxed more?
No, they are taxed less. But, now more tax money is from them now. Than ever before.
Because the gap between the top wage earners and the rest of the people is expanding.
And, about going back to Clinton's 39%? Since that worked far better than Bush's 35%?
The reason we have a progressive tax, and why we need to hike taxes on the wealthy, which Clinton knew (but definitely did not go far enough on) is that the wealthy are also beneficiaries of loopholes, breaks and shelters that regular people (the non investor class) cannot afford. If we just look at income, it might actually seem that the wealthy pay a higher percentage of the taxes than they bring home in income. But when you can call something “capital gains” and roll it FORWARD INDEFINITELY and never call it “income”, that’s the rub. So, basically people who have more SHOULD be expected to pay more, because even though income taxes may seem out of proportion, all other taxes are out of proportion the opposite way, and income taxation should be the great equalizer.
Try to tell the IRS you want to roll your Income taxes.
You can Roll options forward. But, not income taxes.

DJ,
That's more like it. There's not a rich or triple-figure ObaMarxist alive who is not itching to redistribute other people's money, which in reality means the remaining assets of the beleaguered middle class not yet made serfs of Big Nanny. That goes for the highest on their food chain (or Government cheese chain) like the convicted felon George Soros and the nouveau billionaire schnookers who made a real killing on the Fanny & Freddy grand theft, all the way down to the lowliest statmonger and troll trash droning away like good little Marxoboobies with TAX DA RICH, TAX DA RICH, TAX DA RICH waaaaaaaghghghghg!

I read an interesting piece by Michael Lind in Salon today. There is a perception across America that the Tea Party is a broad-based national movement. We endlessly hear sound bites from Michelle Bachmann, who hails from Minnesota and is a darling of the Tea Party. Yet, when one studies the reality, the numbers, it turns out that the Tea Party is primarily a bunch of Southern right-wingers.
Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee contribute almost half of the Tea Party Caucus in the House of Representatives. Of the 62 total Congressmen and Congresswomen in the House 39 are from the South, about 63%. When one thinks about what the Tea Party stands for, I suppose this is not too surprising. Some of these people hark back to the Civil War Era when the South stood whole-heartedly against a strong national government. They’re still pissed off about that Confederate States of America thing not working out.

So, there's the link and part of the article.

Re the Dronebot:
Of course, he is often described as POS. I understand that. We know what it means, and how the drone has inspired it, and he's even proud of it, just as you will see insects and flies proudly flitting in fseces. There's no shame. It's their nature and what they were meant for.
I haven't sized him up as POS. Until now. Now I've decided to use it---but in a far more damning way (in my opinion) than the original.
The dronebot is indeed a POS---a piece of socialist.

The beliefs of the right?
Taxes are for little people.
Leona Helmsey is their poster child.
And, once again, class. It's the rich trying to wipe out the middle class.

Some will say this is a distinction without a difference. Will I argue the point?
No.
