Obama's Executive Order will use the 14th Amendment and "Get 'er done"...like it or not." - longrifle

Oh, goody!! Then another ridiculous impeachment the country doesn't want from the TERMINAL PARTY.

NOTHING will turn Obama into Bill Clinton faster than you can say "longest run of peacetime prosperity".

DJ

The problem, Gringoman, is his understanding is simplistic. Too simplistic. He ignores a wide range of variables in order to arrive at his flawed conclusion.

xbjllb

"That is: are you saying Clinton's tax increases spurred on the economic boon?" - DJ

Perhaps; perhaps not.

But they sure did CREATE A SURPLUS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DECADES AND ENDED THE DEFICIT!!

Raise taxes on the rich back to 1955 levels!!

Is that anything like you guys ignoring the entire range of TRUTH to arrive at YOUR flawed conclusions (which, JUST coincidentally, happen to be the conclusions that MOST benefit Big Business, gut the middle class, and screw the poor).

Anything like that?

DJ

There are the Donalds (as in Trump)...then there are the Freds. (Personally I kinda like the way Fred thinks.)

""Wait, Sir, it's not about doers and parasites." - Gringoman

No, it's about "doers" who don't help others unless there's a tax gun at their head, ending up in Hell as they justly deserve.

And it's about "parasites" NOT.

But of course, as one who fights for those who will be crushed to death going through the eye of a needle, "Who gives a flying 'ef what Christ said?", sez Gringoman.

China operates more efficiently than the USA. That's why they're eating our lunch and will continue to do so from now on in. That is unless we can throw off the yoke of political correctness. S-hit can PC and the game changes to our favor.

Posted by: DJ | July 30, 2011 at 02:43 PM

1. Much of that Chinese "efficiency" is installed by Western know-how. The Chinese are smart enough to beg, borrow or contractualize what they don't steal from the West's intellectual property.

2. It's true that US corporations are attracted by low Chinese wages.

3. It's also true that US corporations are attracted by far lower taxes in China, the absence of unions and union bosses, and far less of a regulatory burden imposed by state bureaucracy.

4. For some reason, US mass media for popular consumption seem to mention
Fact #2 more than Fact #3. It's their way of being "factual" and not lying.

xbjllb

I'm thinking Obama ISN'T going to do the 14th amendment "hail Mary". Why?

Let's see:

1. He does the 14th amendment, catastrophe is averted, American People and MSM will forget in three seconds, and GOP will promptly impeach him over it, while all the time continuing to lie with trillions of dollars that it was all his fault. And of course, like Clinton, his popularity will rise but HE WILL BE ABLE TO GET NOTHING DONE. NADA. ZIP.

On the contrary, if:

2. He DOESN'T do the 14th amendment, he lets the GOP crash the debt ceiling, catastrophe ensues and economic misery encompasses the world for at least the next 40 years in the GreatEST Depression, AND THE GOP IS NOT ONLY BLAMED FOREVER, THEY ARE FORCIBLY REMOVED FROM OFFICE EVERY TWO YEARS IN NOVEMBER UNTIL NOT A SINGLE ONE IS LEFT STANDING.

They will TRY to blame Obama for not using the 14th amendment, BUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WILL SPIT IN THEIR FACE. WHILE GETTING BASEBALL BATS FOR NOVEMBER. RECALLS AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE.

Looks like a no-brainer to me.

Try the Gospels, o ye of little faith and of less salvation.

Can you explain how the business cycle effected the boon during the Clinton years? That is: are you saying Clinton's tax increases spurred on the economic boon? Or is it not a fact Clinton benefited greatly by an unprecedented sweet spot in the boon/bust business cycle, therefore deficit spending was briefly brought under control during his time in office?

Posted by: DJ | July 30, 2011 at 02:57 PM

Clinton had a Pay as You Go philosophy.
he didn't have the Republican's idea to cut taxes to look good to the people. Then, borrow behind their backs.

Bingo!!! GOP always condemned Dems. for their "tax-and-spend policies." GOP prefers less trasnparent "borrow-and- spend" tactics so they can still look like anti-tax advocates. If Americans were forced to pay a supplementary federal income-tax to pay for the Iraq/Afghanistan wars (as they did during the last years of the Vietnam War), we would have withdrawn our troops years ago. Instead, we funded these trillion dollar fiascoes by borrowing and selling debt to China.

Trump is the Man, furthermore he is a man among men and I cannot say that about most in Washington (how Washington, himself would have scorned this debacle), except for a handful of people like Bolton, Rumsfeld and Cheney, who should have been President, there is nobody on the scene deserving the title, Mr. President. The Messiah (leader in waiting) is the Shakina (Goddess aka Venus) and she is playing a classic role awaiting to be drafted. Like Jesus
awaited the Romans at the Garden of Gethsemane. And, she will be drafted.

Jay

Absolutely True, and the causes are:

1. Abortion. 40 million Potential taxpayers murdered since Roe.
2. LABOR COSTS. US workers get $200 per day; Chinese workers get $200 per month.
Very simple Math.

And Reagan cutting taxes from 70% in the 1970s down to 28%. and, bush cutting clinton's taxes from 39% to 35%.

Jay

This is from an article from September of 2008.
So, Obam isn't included.

Another there he goes telling about the bad record of Conservatives, again!

conservatives always speak how they know what's best about creating jobs.

Do they really?

"Since 1928 there have been 13 president, 7 Republicans (Hoover, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush Sr, and Bush Jr) and 6 Democrats (FDR, Truman, JFK, Johnson, Carter and Clinton).

Six of the seven Republican Presidents had unemployment increase while in office. Ronald Reagan is the only Republican President since 1928 to leave office with a lower unemployment rate.

All six Democratic Presidents had unemployment decrease or stay the same while in office. The worst Democratic performance was Jimmy Carter, who had the same unemployment rate when he left office as when he entered.

Viewing the President's 4 year term gives an even more pronounced effect.

Of the Repubilican President's 9 terms, unemployment has increased in 7 of the 9 terms.

Of the Democratic President's 10 terms, the unemployment rate never increased"

So, only Obama in this recession has been the only Democratic president who RAISED unemployment.

Darn those facts!
Does it not only say about the Republicans ability to cut unemployment. It also says that their cutting taxes to create jobs is a BIG FACT LIE!
