In the very early days of the Obama administration, Vice President Joe Biden once infamously referred to the main mission of the new White House: "it's a three letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S. Jobs."

Leaving aside his inability to count, Biden was supposedly announcing the urgent task directly ahead for Team Obama: job creation. In fact, Obama and just about everyone else in his administration talked about focusing "like a laser beam" on creating jobs.

They set about doing it through a massive expansion of government and an orgy of government spending. A trillion over here for "stimulus," a trillion over there for bailouts, a trillion more for the first stages of ObamaCare, a trillion on top of that to cover the expanding, bloated government payrolls. The combination of record-breaking debt, suffocating new regulations, and the resulting overwhelming uncertainty has created a toxic environment that's making job creation incredibly difficult.

And yet, the supposed geniuses on the Left cannot see that their policies have been an abject failure. Or they see it, they just won't acknowledge it, because to acknowledge it means to acknowledge the utter failure of their entire ideology. So they stick to the policies and ideology that are destroying job creation and the free market. Then again, for them, that is the point.

They also know, however, that they must face voters who are unemployed, facing unemployment, losing their homes or facing foreclosure, whose 401ks are depleted, whose small businesses are going under, who have little to no disposable income and must ration whatever money they've got coming in every week. This is not a formula for electoral success for the party that has controlled everything until January. Now they control everything except the House of Representatives.

They know they've had two and a half years to fix the economy and get job creation going. They know that they've gone through every play they've got in their Left-wing, Keynesian playbook. They know they've failed, so they're desperately grasping at straws.

"Democrats Eye New Jobs Agenda," is the headline in Politico.com today. "Fearing the economy may be getting worse, Democrats plan to soon unveil what they'll call a "Jobs First" agenda - and the stakes are high. A bleak economic outlook, like the May jobs report, could cost Democrats their thin Senate majority and even the White House if they can't make a strong case to an anxious electorate that their policies will create jobs."

Excuse me? They've been in power in the Congress since January 2007 and controlled the White House since January 2009, and NOW they're trying to come up with a jobs agenda? Perhaps they could have had one if they didn't spend the first year and a half doing socialized medicine which nobody wants and which we can't afford. But of course, the point of ObamaCare was not health care "reform." The point of ObamaCare was to get government literally into every nook and cranny of your life. Government controls your health care, government controls you.

Now, all of a sudden, the Democrats are noticing that 9.1% unemployment rate, the total 17% unemployment rate, and the anemic number of jobs being created as well as the pathetic GDP growth rate, and they're freaking out. Not because they regret their policies, but because they might actually get punished by the voters for them.

They had their chance. They failed. Now comes their absolute, blind panic.

My parents were never really political, but my father was a Republican. He would always tease me about how I never failed to pick the loser.

I was bummed out that I was born too late to be part of the 60s. My father used to listen to talk radio before it was cool and he would tell me that the hippies and the unrest on the college campuses were part of a communist plot to take down the country. At the time, I though he was nuts. Now, I see how wise he was.

My mother and grandmother used to send care packages to the old country, so I was aware from an early age that I had much less than they did. These thoughts were reinforced when I met people who grew up there or heard stories of my relatives who travelled there.

At the same time, everyone overseas WANTED to be an American and they wanted our jeans. My father told me that my grandmother didn't believe him when he told her that a man landed on the moon. Unlike people in underdeveloped countries, I had hope and opportunities and was grateful to be lucky enough to be born in America.

The objections to a voter ID, makes one wonder how much voter fraud has already taken place, especially in places like Nevada, NYC, DC and Chicago. The issue ought to be the integrity of the vote. I worry that foreigners will have a photo id, as a forgery.

Instead I see people trying to make this a racial issue, apparently so illegals can vote if they want. This tells the illegal that there are people, possibly at the polls, that think it is alright if they vote.

It has been explained like this by elements of the left - We do not want them to feel like they are different. (!!!) They want to turn this into a race card for the Democrats, and to spur illegal voting.

This tells me that in the upcoming elections, expect large numbers of illegals voting, possibly with fake photo ID in those states where it is required.

All I can say is, a proper president does not tell his people that anyone can vote. If to him it is just a another government document with a signature on it that can be ignored, then he should be impeached. He has already laughed off the ACORN violations, and given an indication that it is just a little mischief- no big deal. The pres should tell his people outright, that to maintain our Republic we cannot let the vote be contaminated.

Cuomo and the Democrats are trying to pass it in New York. 41 years ago New York was the first state to legalize abortion and how you still can't stop it. People think it may pass, but Republicans and church leaders are trying to protect your religious rights so when gay leaders come to your church and start suing you for discrimination when you won't marry them, you are protected...

It's time to consider that in spite of Rush Limbaugh's denial Ross Perot was absolutely correct that the giant sucking sound would be American jobs going south, and later east. Perot understood free market capitalism works only so long as it is regulated to keep corporate bureaucrats from destroying it.

Trump can really be erratic. He accurately admits corporations are destroying the economy, but the idea of a one shot tax to fix things is nuts. He needs to hire someone to teach him we were doing fine for thirty-five years after WW II paying down a national debt that had been 120% GDP at the end of the war. In that same period we built a middle class and raised it to unprecedented prosperity. A smart people would learn from history. Otherwise we may have to turn to Sharron Angle and the Tea Party people with the shirts saying they didn't bring their guns that time.
