For two and a half years, I've been saying that as far as the presidency goes, Barack Obama could take it or leave it. Sure, he loves the perks of the job: the private plane, the red phone, the valet, the chefs willing to make him a grilled cheese on sourdough at 3am. But in terms of doing the actual job, he's just not that into it.
Obama truly considers himself a transcendent character: the first bi-racial person to be elected to the American presidency, and therefore a historic, almost celestial figure. In fact, on election night 2008, he strode on stage and delivered a victory speech that might as well have been a farewell speech. Obama looked at his winning electoral votes and thought, "My work here is done."
That's why he's avoided the heavy lifting usually required of presidential leadership. He gave the "stimulus" to Congress to write, which is why it ended up being a lard-filled political document rather than a truly stimulative economic one. He let Congress write the massive ObamaCare bill, which is why that turned out to be a 2000+ page hot mess that even the then-Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, had to admit that they needed to pass to find out what was in it. He let Congress also write the equally indecipherable Dodd-Frank financial regulatory bill, which is so job- and economy-killing that even the Dems who voted for it (again, without having read it), are fleeing the bill like Anthony Weiner from modesty. He is letting Congress (and the country) twist in the wind on all budgetary matters, from the actual annual budgets, to proposing spending cuts, to other ideas for deficit reduction, to what to do about the debt ceiling. He's AWOL all over the place.
Obama doesn't dig the job. Never has. He enjoys the big house and the pick-up basketball games with LeBron, and he's savored the fact that he's been able to findamentally change America toward a European socialist model. But as far as doing any real work, the dude would rather not.
This morning, he told NBC's Today show: "Michelle and the kids are wonderful in that if I said, 'You know, guys, I want to do something different,' they'd be fine. They're not invested in daddy being president or my husband being president."
Now that it's clear that his policies have wrecked the economy, with its most important indicators---unemployment, housing prices, consumer confidence, gas prices---all sliding in the wrong direction, he might want to take a powder. Go and do something "less stressful," as he said this morning. Write his memoir. Give speeches. Create a foundation to rival Bubba's. You know, cash in and check out.
Perhaps he raised the curtain on that possibility this morning.
And perhaps I've been right all along about something else: that Hillary Clinton is starting her engines.
I definitely do not agree with Monica's assessment of Obama. He is transforming America; jist like he said he would. He is re-distributing wealth; just like he said he would. He is forcing a green economy on us; just like he said he would. He is succeeding at his REAL agenda; not the one he sold to fool his "useful idiot" voters.

Monica's 100% correct in her accessment of the current White House occupant. He's voted "present" since his inaugurated. The legislation that he's signed into law was prepared and preloaded before he announced his candidacy. He's a puppet who was groomed to be the Manchurian candidate since the day he emerged from whatever excretory system expelled him.

Term Limits must be implemented at all levels. The last thing we need are "professional politicians" who like Weiner, couldn't get a job flipping burgers if they needed one.
They also don't need those fat pensions either.
Someone who truly desires to serve the country and represent their fellow citizens in Congress doesn't need excessively obscene amounts of loot in compensation for their activities.

UG,
Given that particular choice, I think Rush would fade into a neutral corner. Either that or his head would explode.
Change the characters to Trump/______ vs Romney/Huntsman with Palin out of the race... then Rush, I beleive, would be foursquare in support of the Goopers.

2.) I believe it was Newt would pointed out last night, that this election cycle is NOT just about the ofc of Pres & that seats need to be won as well.....
Bachmann, imo would better serve from her seat....& personally if I heard one more time last night her 23 foster kids I think I would have puked..........I'm sure it will be a recurring theme.....I think the strategist has yet to declare, so I will not get all in a lather about the "strong field of candidates"......nor will I fall prey to anybody is better than the one.........not good enough imo

Another con-job from the Marxist-in-Chief;
"President Barack Obama will visit the North Carolina-based Cree LED Light Company Monday to tour the plant and meet with his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness to discuss job creation and policies to spur economic growth.
But Cree, "a major recipient of Recovery Act funds, may be sending all that money straight to China". At the very least, its CEO, Chuck Swoboda, has a very China-centered strategy that involves building a new plant overseas, two facts that the Republican National Committee plans to highlight Monday morning prior to the president's visit.
Cree received a $39 million as an Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit from the Recovery Act.
The company began developing clean energy technology, hired a few more hundred workers, and the administration touted it as a "true American success story" on the White House Web site.
Then in late 2010, the company opened its first plant in Huizhou City,China. That made Cree the first global LED company to locate a manufacturing plant in China..."

The way things stand, candidates for office are eligible because their parties say so. This means all sorts of possible conditions might exist, including other people born outside the US running for the office of president. Let's stop this with Obama. All people who file for candidacy ought to be cleared by a judge (or supreme court possibly, and perhaps also by the public) who will check to see if the candidate meets the legal requirements.
I like the requirement that one's parents are legal US citizens, and the candidate born in the US, except for military people who had their child on a foreign base, or a child born in a US embassy. Reasonable requirements have changed - today almost everyone being born in a hospital, and established with birth records.
----
As an aside, Obama possibly should not be issued a US passport since he has no legitimate birth affidavit. He would be the first president to not be eligible for a passport. Perhaps we should keep him from leaving the country in the future!

Except for Chrissie Matthews, who can go hump his tingly leg on someone else.
Male. After Hillary's eight years of peacetime prosperity and Matthew's (by then eternal) misogynist scowl. Who knows, it might be finally just enough to make the old boy come out of the closet as a Republican and cross the river Styx over to FOX as a "liberal" commentator.

CNN John to the assembled G.O.P. "serious" candidates, "lightening" it up for the audience assumed to be Americano boobtube bubbleheads:
"Do you prefer spicy wings or bacon, Elvis or Johnny Cash, Beatles or Stones, cheese curls or potato chips yadablaba yadablaba...."
If any one of them came back at the Jerkmaster with their best smile and just said something like, "No comment, John. Can we move on?"....that candidate would have walked away with the "debate," towering over the others who were too intimidated to be themselves.
But not a single one did, proving once again that the G.O.P.is, in fact, the Lamestream's bittches.
ps. The only one I'm fairly sure would have stood up to this Hackstream humiliation is Donald Trump. And Sarah Palin? Maybe, but only maybe. ""Sarah, got to lower your negatives in the Lamestream polls." - Gringoman
What Sarah has to do is find the best private tutor of CHILDREN in the world, take a year off and get her G.E.D. For real. Passing basic history, geography, civics, and English tests. With A's, not D's. And discover a real passion for reading.
After that, she needs to get in at least two years of community college level tutoring on law and college level history and political science. And not from some phony "Bible" college either where they churn out brainless militant Christianist zombies like Bachmann and Christine O'Donnell with pseudo-science. Or any so-called "university" or "college" where the Kochheads have hand picked their whore "professors".
Then, and only then, will she be ready for prime time. And God help her opposition then.
Of course, the end result of all that education will have been for her to drop all of her opposition to choice. And support of Israel.
As any simple understanding of history of the 20th century pre Roe Vs. Wade always does.
Do I think she can do it? Yes. WIll she? Highly unlikely. Once someone reaches a certain level of monetary success they rarely grow as human beings.

What the CIA wants you to know:
The Voice of the White House
Washington, D.C., June 14, 2011: “Obama was elected by a popular mandate and mainly because the mass of the public was fed up with rampant official corruption, law-breaking, endless political wars, a ruined economy and many other present and growing disasters to the national fabric. It is now becoming painfully obvious that Obama is a total sell-out to both the intelligence community and the powerful monies power elite that has been running this country for decades. He promised to end the war in Afghanistan. He didn’t and expanded it. He promised to close Guantanamo torture center. He did not. He promised more governmental openness and instead, has tried his best (and failed) to punish whistle-blowers who expose the rampant and criminal corruption in all branches of government. He is, in short, a total failure. But do we want to replace him with a Repubican lunatic like the Jesus Freak Bachmann or Saotorum? Or the idiot Palin? The hilarious fraud known as the Great bin Laden Removal is typical. No sane person believes the constantly changing stories and while Obama’s popularity ratings soared, they launched that cartoon show far to early for a positive reaction in the next Presidential election. Timing is everything, something the Obama people do not understand. And now we are informed that Obama and the crazy Cass Sunstein want to shut down the Internet because it is making fools out of him and his crime partners. Look for a bogus “cyber-attack” followed by “emergency decrees” designed to shut down anyone daring to expose the fraudsters and criminals. Julian Assange did a wonderful job, especially in toppling the petty tyrants we support throughout the oil-producing Arab world but notice how a sudden silence has fallen on the subject? Not a word about Julian or his work anywhere in the mainline American media. Why is this? Orders from the Oval Office to the corporations who own the major (and rapidly vanishing) print media and television comedy hours. Obama and his bedraggled crew has as much chance of shutting down the Internet and controlling any revival of it than they do of getting the Nobel Prize.”
