Sometimes I forget that Barack Obama came out of Chicago gangland politics. Then he says something to remind me.
Last night, he spoke to a group of high-end campaign donors in Chicago. He thought it was a private gathering. That was his first mistake. Nothing in this day and age is ever truly private, particularly for the President of the United States running for re-election.
He blurted out how he really feels. You'll recall that he made a similar blunder during the 2008 campaign, when he thought he was speaking at a private gathering and said what he really thought of the rest of us: "...it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." Ah yes: the classic "bitter clingers" quote. He blurted that out in San Francisco.
Last night's classic was spoken in Chicago. There's something about Far-Left cities that brings out true honesty from the Bama.
In complaining about Republican attempts to attach policy riders to the budget bill that would have effectively killed off parts of his much-loathed ObamaCare, Obama said this: "I said, 'You want to repeal health care? Go at it. We'll have that debate. You're not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we're stupid?'"
You think we're stupid? You want a piece of me? You talkin' to me?! (He thinks he's DeNiro.)
Let's review: 1. Support for ObamaCare hit a record low this week---35%---while support for total repeal remains at about 60%. 2. The Constitutionality of it remains in question, and it will likely get invalidated by the Supreme Court. 3. A Democrat Attorney General---Missouri's Chris Koster---joined the states' lawsuit against it this week, bringing the total number of states challenging ObamaCare to 27. 4. Oklahoma's Governor, Mary Fallin, turned away the federal money earmarked for her state for implementation, saying she's not going forward with it.
In other words, ObamaCare is a hot mess: rejected by the American people, challenged in the courts, and blocked by most Governors.
And yet, it's Obama's "signature issue." He must be so psyched.
Actually, Mr. President, we don't think you're stupid. In fact, we think you're very clever. We also think you're incredibly wrong and inflicting enormous damage on the country, particularly through the crown jewel of your vaunted welfare state, ObamaCare.
Whenever the Bama feels put upon, attacked, unduly criticized, he lashes out like a punk. Remember that other Bama classic, uttered within the first few days of his presidency, when he was speaking to the GOP leadership: "I won."
The President has such a way with words, doesn't he? Always keepin' it classy!
You can take the punk out of Chicago, but you can't take Chicago out of the punk.
Monica appears interested in OPC (Operation Punk Control).
But how committed is she aside from the 'POTUS Punk' rhetoric?
Is she anywhere near ready to jump ship? Does her mothering of troll trash at Monicamemo give us a clue to the real Monica behind the rhetoric? Will she ever abandon the vessel of President Punk's bittches, i.e. the S.S. Gooper? Can a Bushgirl board the battleship that will actually confront President Punk, i.e. the S.S. Trump?

For those who are still confused, misinformed, Gooperized or Obamascammed re the truth about Donald Trump and the Tea Party....
/////Hannity then noted that Trump describes himself as a conservative and asked what that means to him.
“Well, I think I have great values. I love this country — I feel so strongly about this country,” Trump said, adding his values reflect those of the tea party.
“I really relate to the tea party people,” he said. “Somebody was asking me — in fact every reporter asks me — what do you think of the tea party? I said, ‘I think they are great. They are workers — they love the country.’
“And you know, their greatest service has been — and this is very simple — they've made everyone think. They were the first that brought up the deficit,” Trump continued.
“We were just riding this deficit, borrowing more and more money — they were the first ones that really made both Democrats and Republicans think.”
“So, I think the tea party has served an unbelievable and performed an unbelievable function.”

Trump and Limbaugh.
As mentioned above, Trump will be a guest on Limbaugh today (extremely soon) Here is Limbaugh's version of Monica's 'PRESIDENT PUNK'.....
////////Rush Limbaugh blasted President Barack Obama on Thursday, calling him a “vindictive little guy” and saying there was “nothing presidential” about his budget speech.
Limbaugh said he was offended that Obama had invited GOP Rep. Paul Ryan, who has offered his own budget plan, and other Republicans to sit in the front row at Wednesday’s address, “and then he proceeds to insult them.”
“It was a disgusting display. It was in no way presidential,” Limbaugh said on his talk show Thursday.
He said the incident revealed Obama’s real character.
“He’s not this cool, calm collected guy,” Limbaugh said. “Obama’s not a good guy. He’s a mean, vindictive little guy. He’s very cold.”
He also accused Obama of pandering to liberal supporters as part of his re-election strategy.
“His base is made up of people even more vile than he is,” Limbaugh said. “A lot of it is just walking human debris on the Democrat base side and they’ve got to be stoked.”

It's a pity he didn't discover this part of his psyche two YEARS ago when we really needed it.
But I'm grateful for it now. Never let it be said that, as much as I can't stand him, I never let a good deed go unrecognized.
If he stays this way, I might even vote for him over Trump.
And if he runs as Hillary's veep? Please, have the GOP wake NOW.
What's so hilarious is your wounded self-righteous faux shock, surprise, and outright anger. Every last one of the GOP in Congress needs to be bitch-slapped until you can't stand up. And again, and again, and again, until you KNOW YOUR PLACE AND DON'T GET BACK UP.

He plays Trump from 2008. He's troubled. "Trump called Bush evil? Evil? Just because he says he went into Iraq with no reason? Evil?"
It gets even worse (according to Malzburg.) "Trump in 2008 said that Obama might make a great President, and if he wasn't great. this country is in real trouble."
How could Trump say that? How could he dare say that Obama might be a great President? Where's he get off saying something like that? And Bush "evil"?

I have mentioned previously, at the heart of the housing crisis was a desire to give free housing, housing up front to illegal Mexicans. This was assisted by people such as Franklin Raines. they had no proper income, and no proper papers, and so thy had to intentionally corrupt housing loans, and eventually, they believed the gov'ment would pay.
The gov'ment still wants to help them out. Everywhere illegal Mexicans reside, housing is distressed : AZ, NV, CA, and FL, and the market about to collapse, possibly along with their banks. What do you suppose the Fed is considering at this juncture?

He was obviously disappointed in that hope which is why he is running now. i really don't think he would run if he didn't really think it was necessary to save the country.

Only one problem with Rubio, and it is a major one. Your Tea Party hating hispanics in the southwest and elsewhere are never going to vote for a Hispanic, ever.
Not happening. There is vast difference to racists between being married to one, and actually BEING one.
Otherwise, you might have a chance. Not to mention that Rubio right now is seen as a key to the future of the GOP, not its present. And to fully attain that he must go far more mainstream.
And hispanics are very cagey; it's going to take more than Rubio to win them back after the past few Tea Party years of being vilified. Most Hispanics recognize Nazis when they live under them. They're not so keen on becoming them, the way they were under Dubyah.
But hey, you guys are hell bent on losing, so go ahead, lose.

I tend to agree on all points. In fact, I found Malzburg's argumentum not very impressive. I voted for Bush in 2004, keeping my fingers crossed, and got burned, initially supporting the attack in Iraq, and then increasingly stunned by the sheer incompetence of the supposedly "adult" Team Bush. Bush "evil"? That's arguable. If Trump did rhetorical overkill, well, that's his style. Suck it up, Goopers! What do we have now with the essentially misbegotten Iraq adventure: the empowerment of the very dangerous mad mullahs of Tehran, which the monster Sadaam had neutralized. So how is the result of the Iraq adventure not "evil", even if Bush is better described as criminally stupid rather than criminally evil? Levin argues that this view is a disservice to the soldiers in Iraq, especially the dead and wounded. But I don't think the soldiers have to be politicized like that. If they served honorably, and most did, not even a botched war can dishonor them. Soldiers understand that, even if socialists and media hacks do not.
That said, I take more seriously Mark Levin's reservations on Trump. Malzburg is often on target elsewhere re Libworld, but Levin clearly has the more meticulous intellect. Levin's critique boils down to three words. He sees Trump as a "wheeler-dealer opportunist," flip=flopping on almost everything over the years. This view would be natural for Levin, who is a hard core conservative ideologue not apt to forgive anyone who, like Trump, has to do business in a Democratic "closed shop" like New York and has to adapt accordingly. As a lawyer, choosing his cases, Levin can be a purist in a way a businessman in the real world cannot be, and in fact no politician ever is.
I ask Levin: If Trump is "not the real deal" and is a "flip-flopper", then who is the "real deal"? Are leading G.O.P. candidates like the famous flip-flopper Mitt Romneycare "the real deal"? Is Huckleberry, with his surprisingly liberal record in Arkansas, the "real deal"?
What Levin can't deny: Trump's experience both in the business world (locally, nationally and internationally) and with politicians of every stripe (locally, nationally and internationally) makes even Romney's "business background" pale in comparison, and that of all other G.O.P. contenders not even a blip on the radar screen.
Well, Levin might try to deny it, but I doubt that he'd even try. He's smart enough to know when he doesn't have a case.

Gringoman, the fact that Trump doesn't want to go on Levin is kind of puzzling, and so is the ongoing feud between Savage and Levin.

I haven't heard of this TRUMP/RUBIO idea from anyone except myself. However, your reaction, and from down Texas way, confirms for me that it strikes a nerve---including the nerves of Libworld, who pretend not to realize, for example that Mexicans and other hispanics know real fascism, like back in the patria where el pueblo or los estudiantes can get themselves shot down in the streets for demonstrating too energetically. The white libs in fat USA are so used to manipulating and stereotyping and viciously race-baiting according to color or ethnicity, they can barely comprehend that the legal are not always devoted to sharing resources with the illegal.

I disagree with Matt Latimer’s assessment of Trump will not run.
He’s ruined 'Trump the entertainer' brand and has crossed the Rubicon.
Clearly he’s going all in and is giving voice to segment of the Conservative movement that hasn’t had one since Reagan.
Palin came close but she was smeared by the Left and was brought out too early. Trump knows the media very well and is not afraid of them.
Ironically he’s being attacked by Republcians and not the Left. I hope he turns his guns on the Rockefeller republicans and smashes them once and for all.

And is Mark Levin slipping? From where I'm standing, blogger Lame Cherry handed the guy his hat with
"Stop Trashing Trump":
It is always interesting when you see someone like Mark Levin just go off on Donald Trump.
Psychologically, it means Mark Levin views Donald Trump as a threat.........one weighs whether a person is a friend or a threat.......if a threat, apprehension builds, then emotional outburst ensues which leads to attacks to neutralize the threat.
What is fascinating in how an accomplished Gentleman like Mark Levin would view Donald Trump a threat, unless he notes in Mr. Trump an upset in the apple cart which Levin and his limbs of Limbaugh and Hannity have decided who will be the Republican nominee.
I will be frank. Donald Trump is an accomplished builder of things big and extravagant. He does this immensely well in dealing with industry, union thugs, government trolls and the economy. He has had problems in marriage, has had problems in business, but that is what an American industrialist is.......you have ups and downs in taking chances in life.
I view Donald Trump not in the least as a threat. I am wary of him as he did support Obama like many did, but he is saying all the right things now.
I don't care as Mr. Levin nit picks about what the Donald only speaks of on a few issues, as Ronald Reagan had his triad and that is where he focused too.
Could Donald Trump be using this as a publicity stunt? Sure he can be up to something, but in that I see the way of utilizing Donald Trump which Mark Levin should

However that changed with her, in Obama's first year. She now sees what the left is really all about, and she rejects it and can't wait until 2012 to get him out.

It exists, it is a fact, and whomever runs with Rubio or runs Rubio before a decade will run into it like a brick wall.
Rubio is very young, and his time will come; it is not now.
Someone who wants to win would be wise to pay attention to as many polls as possible.
Even ones that make the Tea Party look racist. Perhaps, even especially to polls that reveal the inherent racism in the BASE of the Tea Party. Not throughout all, but in the fringe base.

Trump, if he is going to win, is going to need to unite all factions of opposition to Obama. He is going to need, right now, more than anything else, the establishment of the GOP to take him seriously and to raise money to counteract the freakshow going on in the MSM.
The selection of Rubio is obvious pandering to Hispanics, and it isn't going to get a bit of the Hispanic vote (outside of cubans in Florida) any more than pandering with Sarah Palin got a shred of left wing women voters. DID NOT HAPPEN; on the contrary.
Trump needs an establishment candidate who as yet, HASN'T BEEN considered a candidate. Yet one with vast connections in the GOP establishment, most of which, like it or not, still think Dubyah is god.
Luckily, Jeb is not Dubyah, he's never been Dubyah or ever anything remotely like him, so he is untainted, fresher than the rest, and doesn't have the social issues stigma that would destroy his appeal with independents and Hillary democrats.
If Hillary is out of the Administration next year, Trump would be wise to court as many of Hillary democrats as he can get. That is EXACTLY why the birther issue is resonating so much right now with the American Public at large and not just the Tea Party GOP base. The Hillary people discovered the Birther Issue and have been on it FROM DAY ONE.
The only possible running mate for Trump better than Jeb Bush would be Hillary, and she would never agree.
Whomever wins the next election will be the candidate that can UNITE the MAJORITY of the American People together, not just fringe Fox News viewers.
But first, if he's a Tea Party favorite like Trump, he absolutely must get the GOP establishment onboard.
And there's only one guy that can nail that for him, like him or not.
Furthermore, with an eye to the future many decades ahead, that guy has children who can run in politics and be the future of the GOP with hispanic appeal beyond Florida.

Trump is so popular right now because he is the only candidate who represents a conservatism of old, fiscal conservatism shorn of social issue distractions. The social issues, while excellent fundraising tools and demonizing scapegoating tactics that have worked in the past, are death at the polls in the time of a Depression.
Independents simply could care less about social issues.
Candidates who pander to factions that care about social issues cannot win a major election in this country.
It's the economy, stupid, and ONLY the economy.
And that's why Trump is so popular, and needs an establishment running mate that reflects those priorities.
The people who need to be trimmed from the GOP establishment and especially in the Tea Party are the ones who were put their by "Christian" groups and conspiracies. They could care less about the economy, and what they do care about most (establishing a totalitarian religious government that while omnipotent socially, is completely impotent economically) is what the overwhelming majority of American People (outside of megachurch goers) want the least.
Eliminate the partnership and alliances with these, and all of a sudden the right wing will discover an alliance ten times the size with independents and the American People.
The social issues conservatives have not been a help to the right wing; on the contrary, they've become a metastasizing cancer.
Social issues play in times of plenty; not when people are out of work. The unemployed aren't going to megachurches.

If someone was really open minded and forward thinking, the following scenario is not out of the question:
Trump-Bush 2012-2020
Bush-Rubio 2020-2028
Rubio-Bush 2028-2036
That's only if social issues are forever left behind and outsourcing is ended, however it is done. And tax rates on the top 10% restored to 1950 levels.
And no more long wars fought to lose and keep the contractor gravy train running indefinitely.
Play any other game, and this ain't happening in this universe.
Nor any other GOP victories.
