As the Libyan "kinetic military action" grinds on, it becomes increasingly likely that we will get one of two outcomes. It's possible that we might get a great outcome: that Qaddafi steps aside without too much more bloodshed, that true democratic reformers take control, and that al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood are effectively sidelined. While that result is possible, it's not likely. So let's examine the two most likely scenarios.
1. Qaddafi holds on to power and entrenches himself. This leads to a civil war in Libya and a protracted stalemate for the United States and NATO. The no-fly zone, which has already become an aerial-to-ground assault, then morphs into full-on ground combat. If this occurs, American power is grossly diminished and what's left of our credibility gets wiped out. We're hip-deep in yet another endless war without success or victory.
Or:
2. Qaddafi falls, and chaos ensues. Tribal battles rage, and into the vacuum steps either the Muslim Brotherhood or al Qaeda. Possibly both: the MB might run the governing show while al Q operates in parts of the country. If that happens, al Q will have a base of operations much closer and more convenient to its main targets---the U.S. and Western Europe---than Afghanistan was. The closer to kill us.
Which scenario is the worst case? They're both pretty bad for U.S. national security, and yet President Obama doesn't seem too concerned with war-gaming this out. The question is: why? Is he hopelessly naive? Is he a dreamer, thinking that he can will the situation to a rosy outcome? Or is the reason much darker? Does he INTEND one of these scenarios to play out?
His decision to go into Libya was surreal. His decision to authorize the CIA to deal with the rebels and possibly arm them is surreal. Everything with this presidency is surreal. So could be his reasoning for the entire mission----and what he'd like to see emerge from it.
Don’t forget your hijab, soldier! American servicewomen encouraged to wear headscarves in Afghanistan"
Female service members are not the only ones concerned. Retired Navy SEAL Scott Taylor told TheDC that he has been troubled by reports of women wearing the headscarves with their uniforms.
“I am completely oppose appeasement to a culture rather than respecting it,” Taylor wrote in an email. “My personal Middle Eastern experience in a very conservative country has taught me that Muslims can feel respected without submitting to an impersonation of their culture. There is little or nothing gained by an American woman in a Hijab, in what is deemed by some as cultural sensitivity. Women in Female Engagement Teams can successfully complete their stated mission without utilization of the Hijab. Encouraging (which coming from leaders is basically an order within the military) this approach is against what the American soldier in uniform stands for. Soldiers operating covertly are a different story.”

Egypt—The Hangover:
Cairo's liberals tell a different story than Team Obama.
Talk to top U.S. officials here about how things are going in Egypt, and the gist of the answer reminds me of what Apollo XI astronaut Michael Collins told Mission Control while sailing over the Sea of Tranquility: "Listen, babe, everything is going just swimmingly."
Talk to secular Egyptians about what they make of that sanguine point of view, and they'll tell you the Americans are on the far side of the moon.

Islamist Group Is Rising Force in a New Egypt:
“We are all worried,” said Amr Koura, 55, a television producer, reflecting the opinions of the secular minority. “The young people have no control of the revolution anymore. It was evident in the last few weeks when you saw a lot of bearded people taking charge. The youth are gone.”

WHY DO PROGRESSIVES DEFEND COMMUNISTS AND TERRORISTS?
As incredible as it may seem, the giant labor federation, the AFL-CIO, used to be run by a staunch anti-communist. George Meany had his disagreements with conservatives on domestic issues but he mostly agreed with them on foreign policy. Indeed, Meany was so anti-communist that he was dubbed a “right-winger” by liberals in the media. He criticized détente with the Soviet Union. He didn’t like communists and refused to allow them into his coalitions.
All of this changed over time. When the AFL-CIO staged a “Solidarity Day” rally in 1981, in order to protest President Ronald Reagan’s domestic policies, then-AFL-CIO President Lane Kirkland refused to tell communists they were not welcome.
When John Sweeney, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, became president of the AFL-CIO, the communists and their fellow travelers were officially welcomed in. He hired veterans of the Venceremos Brigades such as Karen Nussbaum and Karen Ackerman. These were the groups of radical young people who had gone to Communist Cuba for indoctrination sessions back in the 1970s. Some went for training in guerrilla warfare. The trips were arranged by Bernardine Dohrn of the terrorist Weather Underground.
As we noted in a recent column, Nussbaum, executive director of Working America, a community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, is in charge of getting the unemployed to the ballot box on November 2 in order to prevent a conservative takeover of the U.S. Congress. Nussbaum, who served under Sweeney at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), has refused to talk about her time in Cuba and the media won’t ask her any questions about it.
Ackerman, AFL-CIO political director since 2003, is also close-mouthed about her Cuba trip.
In this day and age, with the liberal media so willing to act as megaphones for the Obama Administration and left-wing labor leaders, it is not “news” that Ackerman, in charge of overall strategy and the spending of millions of dollars on behalf of liberal candidates, once went to Cuba for indoctrination. Nor is it “news” that the AFL-CIO, now under President Richard Trumpka, has joined a “One Nation Working Together” coalition staging a Saturday rally with the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) and other openly communist and socialist groups.
Consider Thursday’s Washington Post story about the “liberal” and “left-leaning” groups planning the October 2 march in Washington, D.C. Reporter Krissah Thompson says the coalition includes “environmentalists, antiwar activists, church and civil rights groups, union organizers and gay rights coalitions…” Nothing is said about the fact that the “One Nation Working Together” official list of “endorsing organizations” includes the CPUSA, best known for receiving Soviet funding and direction during the Cold War. But the CPUSA is not the only far-left group on the list. All that a reporter has to do is read it. But to report the facts would mean that organizers of the rally, led by a veteran Democratic Party operative, might have to be asked embarrassing questions. So the facts are ignored.
The liberal media bias and dishonesty aside, the change reflects how the progressive movement has capitulated to the forces of the anti-American left, in order to swell their ranks. It is a terrible development that is ominous for the future of the United States because of the hold that the progressives now have on the White House and Congress. It makes sensational reports of a few extremists in the conservative-oriented Tea Party movement look silly by comparison.
We noted in our recent column that the “peace director” of the “One Nation Working Together” rally ran an organization that defends accused Army traitor Bradley Manning. He talks openly about inviting communists to the rally. It doesn’t bother him in the least.
Unfortunately, this is the continuation of a trend we have seen since Barack Obama became President and hired communist Van Jones. After Trevor Loudon broke the story about Jones’ communist background and Glenn Beck of Fox News raised a ruckus, Jones left the administration, only to return to the group in Washington, D.C. where he had previously worked—the George Soros-funded Center for American Progress. This revolving door proves that the modern-day progressive movement is willing to work with communists and tolerate their destructive ideology. It is a tragic turnaround from the days when liberal Democrats shared the anti-communism that characterized U.S. foreign policy.
These communists are people who have always put the interests of foreign countries, most of them totalitarian in nature, ahead of the United States. They may not have the Soviet Union to depend on anymore, but they continue to get inspiration and guidance from Cuba. They represent an alien philosophy that has cost the lives of 100 million people through failed socialist schemes, violence, terrorism, and murder. As former FBI informant Larry Grathwohl has testified, the Weather Underground itself had plans to “re-educate” 100 million Americans and eliminate the 25 million who couldn’t be converted to communism.

Teachers with tenure, plus union action, guarantees stasis in education, except for the growth in salaries and benefits. Many more specialists were necessary to handle all the challenged children covered by "No Child Left Behind" - with all sort of problems - overweight from cafeteria pizza, inattentiveness from too much sugar, impediments, psychological problems - all very expensive. Our children are stupid because of the unions, and the dumb and dumber and more troubled our children are, the more expensive education becomes. Who is at the top? The old Commie network, at the Dept of Ed, who accredits our schools and school systems.
Just went to the Doc, to have a lesion removed. It took one minute. Cost: $880, for one sweep of the scalpel. Thats 53K/hr. Boy, am I glad those Mexicans are broadening the economic base for insurance purposes. If that fails we can always rely on Bretton Woods and printing more money, to support the medical system. Like with public unions, there is no top end to payouts to medicine - and there is no feedback to limit costs.

Maybe there's a business opportunity in what Truther recounts. DIY Lesion and wart removal. The most problematic thing in this business scheme would be to cut out any potential lesion litigants (no pun intended).
They are making tons of money off the medical practitioners and I am sure they'd hate to see that clientele go DIY bye-bye.
It would be relatively simple to produce and distribute the lesion and wart removal kit I described but how to you remove the lawyers?

Re. Monica's article on Libya and the Bama: She's actually putting in writing what some of US have been saying.
Maybe we are witnessing progress in progress..
Like I said just yesterday, where Dhimya of Arabia was probably naively assuming that all he needed to do was "remove brutal dictators" and "respect moslems" and Democracy would flower from these islamic wastelands, it stands to reason that the Bama would know better, having been raised in an islamic environment on the one hand, and having been witness to the islamo-fascism spreading in Democracy's stead, on the other hand.
Therefore, more sinister motives must be assumed for his actions.

Facebook was invented by a Jew. Just the sort of person the so-called "Facebook Revolutionaries" seek to annihilate.
If they ever achieve their Endlösung for each and all of us who are un-islamic "infidels" and prefer to remain that way and free, they still won't possess the intellect to appreciate the irony of noone being around to invent and keep things operating smoothly.
If I could be a fly on the wall if that should ever happen!
They'll be at each others' throats, starving to death.
Why are all the countries where islam rules supreme such wastelands and deserts?
Iraq is the place where the Garden of Eden was once located.
Then came islam and now look at the place.

How many pregnant Chinese women have come to the Pacific NW? Millions? Does someone know. An indication is the irradiated milk that appeared. Apparently they have a preference for Asian milk. Is is for their little Maoist children?

They got pregnant women coming from Turkey as well. I read some well-meaning bleeding-heart LIEberal biatch's article on the subject in Newsweek while at the dentist and almost fell off the chair.
The turqsch woman stealing a Citizenship from this country on behalf of her moslem newborn was portrayed as a caring mother providing a better future to her unborn child, rather than as the thief she is, stealing future resources from this country because of a legal loophole in our immigration laws, one which is overdue to be fixed.

The different groups in the US, are settling here in an uncontrolled fashion, without naturalization. The result is regional concentrations of foreign populations. If this is not stopped, the country eventually will rend.

I am looking for HOPE
I am looking for CHANGE
WHERE'S BONER?
smathering of reports if things don't change, Rino's will be looking at retirement, & the possibility of landing a cush cush position to supplement that "meager" retirement or a library, street named after them is getting slimmer.

While that result is possible, it's not likely. So let's examine the two most likely scenarios.
---
Vy is it "not likely" Fraw Crowley? Because it looks bad for Obama?
You above all people here, know that such a result would only be "not likely" if the US vas not in charge. Surely the US has more than enough CLANDESTINE RESOURCES to INSURE the most favorable outcome to US INTERESTS.
And it is alvays the Democrats who use those resources, because they fight vars to vin.
Not endlessly profit of off.
So no worries. Libya, Eqypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and yes, eventually tiny little defenseless Isvrael...
ALL GOING TO PLAN.
The inept led and fought "endless" vars of yesterday fought to enrich defense contractors, and bankrupt everyvone else, are, vell, so YESTERDAY.
Von must adapt if von is to remain on the top of the evil paradigm. US Conservative Fascism will only survive if it adapts to ever-changing situations on the ground, yes?

It seems the first is most likely, though now there are reports that we and a few other countries are giving training to the rebels. My fear is that we will provide weapons to the rebels, many of which have fought against us in Iraq and Afghanistan and though they act like they like us now, will eventually take those weapons against us.
