Statism was a response to a failed free capital economy - caused by banking failures and overt bank manipulation. The banks operated as a controlling agency in the economy, caused by the repeal of Glass-Stegall that previously prohibited this.

Controlling spending on health care alone, will not repair the economy, nor will maintaining the tax cuts. The Fed, pumping up stocks, might add a few employees, but since it is not market driven, the main benefit will be to stock brokers and their ilk, who will rake it in, and then they will spend the money - sort of a securities stimulus - another flim-flam measure that doesn't fix anything - but converts the generosity of state, to personal gain for a select sector of the economy. This should be stopped.

To save money in government they need reform. When the FDA gave exclusive approval to URL Pharma for Colchicine for 7 years, and the price jumped from $0.09 to $4.85 per pill, for a drug freely available before without any post approval alterations. Ca-Ching. Money from Medicare/Medicaid to URL Pharma. SO REFORM THE FDA. STOP THE INSIDER DEALS.

Maggie dittohead, became unpopular when she instituted the poll tax - in order to be financially responsible, and in the belief that riff-raff should not vote. What is wrong with Riff-Raff? Well, they elected Harry Reid, for one.

"In 1977, she said, "I face the future with optimism. Our ills are creating their own antibodies. Just as success generates problems, so failure breeds the will to fight back and the body politic strives to restore itself."

-------------------

The problem is the Iron Lady didn't face the real problem straight on. That being the immigration problem. Now look at England. It's being swamped with wave after wave of third-worlders, mainly mooslim.

London, Liverpool, etc. will become majority non-native English in just a few short years. Trust me, that ain't good.

But can they turn it around? If the failed British National Party is any indication, then I'm afraid the future looks very bleak for the once great Nation and her people.

The situation here in the USA isn't any better, many experts argue it's worse; they contend we are futher down the road of multicult destruction than England.

Proof is the election results in Nevada and California. They indicate those states are already lost. It's just a matter of time before we lose the entire Southwest. Amnesty - be it by any other name - coupled with a continuation of current immigration policies ensure it.

Ummahgummah

.

I agree with DJ. Add NY and even CT to that list of lost states. Even though you can't blame the results there on immigration.

Unless white people who moved there from other states count.

Native NYers are far less LIEberal than all those kids from the Midwest trying to prove their libcred in the absurdest of ways.

Oh, and when you live off your parents while studying on that giant campus fka Manhattan then who needs to worry about tax-and-spend richboys lieke the Status CUOmo.

As you are settling down from yesterday’s victories, you will want to also pay attention to this list. While many will be focusing on a potential Presidential pick for the GOP, we should not all get distracted by that.

We have a significant opportunity to improve the Senate GOP through some primaries. Here is a list of potential targets for primaries — these are all of the Senate Republicans up for re-election in 2012:

John Barasso (WY)
Scott Brown (MA)
Bob Corker (TN)
John Ensign (NV)
Orrin Hatch (UT)
Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX)
Jon Kyl (AZ)
Richard Lugar (IN)
Olympia Snowe (ME)
Roger Wicker (MS)

Note that this is just the list of Senate Republicans running. Not all will be targets, but it will be from these men and women that the tea party movement starts looking for targets.

Now, before you all get giddy about Olympia Snowe, I would respectfully suggest that Corker, Hatch, Hutchison, Lugar, and Wicker make better targets as we have a much greater certainty of both beating them in primaries and also winning the general election.

Wicker and Corker in particular make exciting prospects for the tea party movement.

The real danger from socialism today comes from corporate entities not political. Large corporations today fit exactly the socialist society described by Ludwig von Mises in his book Socialism. They are run by "officials" who did not build the company, who have no real risk involved and who run things to benefit only themselves. Those corporations are now powerful enough not only to challenge the power of our political government but to dominate it. Look behind every law passed now, including Obamacare, and you find something to enrich corporate executives.

It's interesting even Rush as well as other Republicans have mentioned the one simple clue to the real facts of the Reagan era, include two Bushes and so far BO. That clue is the national debt to GDP ratio. Thirty-five years of post WW II prosperity was turned around by runaway spending which increased the debt relative to GDP. As von Mises argued capital increase means prosperity for all and capital depletion means hard times.

Oh yeah, Great Britain is FAR better off today than it was when that witch took the reigns.

How much did SHE decimate the middle class and increase the purses of the rich? How many of the middle class did SHE drive into the ranks of the poor?

You elite fascists will never get it. The people you've raped outnumber you 10000 to 1. Your propaganda is only going to work for so long, and then its going to snap. Especially since it's 100% incorrect, 100% lies, and 180 degrees as*s-backwards Orwellian NEWSPEAK.

It's time to toss some cake to the teeming crowds, Marie Antoinette. On whole hell of a lot of cake.

And every day, for about a decade. Call it the "One Thousand and One Nights" insurance plan.

M/M

M/M, we see the situation exactly alike! The NY RNC could care less about the "little people". But hey, more and more conservative voter stock is being driven out in the meantime.

New York to small/mid-sized business: DROP DEAD.
______________________________

UG, we ARE NOT alone. Everyone is talking about moving to South Carolina. Count me in. Where in South Carolina are we moving to?

The GOP is trying to use Paladino as their scapegoat, saying that he robbed good candidates, like Harry Wilson and Dan Donovan from victory, because he turned off voters. That is BS. Here is why:

I didn't see a lot of voter turnout among Republicans when McCain was the top guy on the party line. Bill Clinton came up to stump for a Pelosi Obamacare Democrat in the 20th District and was greeted on a cold morning, by over 100 volunteers who held a counter-rally for the Republican. The Republican won.

This just goes to show that if the LOSER RNC and Conservative hacks produced candidates who people actually liked, people would turn out to vote. Schumer and Gillibrand were running for re-election, along with many Congressmen. If the RNC produced some good candidates and backed them, they could have WON MORE votes in New York.

RIP NEW YORK RNC AND CONSERVATIVE PARTIES -

They were bragging about the polite people, the low taxes and the wonderful weather.

Looks better than anywhere in the disgusting mess that calls itself "the greatest city in the world".

Which also explains why all those libshlubs like Letterman for example, making their money in the city tend to live in Westchester and Fairfield Counties.

That and the commuter tax, which was abolished to grease the skids for Hitlery. And we now pay for this gap in funds with higher real estate taxes inside the city limits.

My loathing for HITLERy knows no bounds.

NYC is losing billions each year due to that abolishment. And we who still remain have been forced to pick up the slack.

I cannot fathom how even a single taxpayer in NYC could ever vote for HITLERy because her carpet-baggery here has cost each and every one of us thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional taxes paid.

If the XKREMENT serves any useful purpose for us at all, then it is a didactic one.

I know it hasn't escaped notice how much loathing and contempt the libs, like Tim Wise, just quoted by DJ, for example, are heaping on regular productive [mostly white, as constantly blathered about by these very adversaries, rather than ourselves] people who just want to move ahead in life and follow their dreams while avoiding outside interference as much as possible.

Libs, on the other hand, keep FOLLOWING and HARRASSING us, regardless of how unwanted and unwelcome their efforts are.

Perfect example: The XKREMENT's constant libspamming all over the Memo, even though what it spams won't change anyone's mind who is already here.

So the libs keep forcing illegal "immigrants" on us, scolding us for not wanting to "share", while conveniently ignoring the question why oh why these "immigrants" all come from failed cesspools of countries, which are often richer in natural resources than our own.

So these huddled brown masses, as libs see them, come to this "evil white" country in spite of all the "racism" and "discrimination" that awaits them here?

I'd love to see a Tim Wise explain to me what will happen once his wet dream of "no more white people in America" comes true.

What will prosperity be like here?

Or will the United States resemble the very countries these "immigrants" came from?

I venture to say the latter is true.

Food for thought. But then, libs don't do much thinking, especially outside the box.

People in more Conservative areas of the country have noticed that libs take over, then lay waste to fabulously beautiful places, like California once was, only to ruin them with their relentless liberal savagery, only to move on like locusts in a process known as "Californication" in the Western half of the country.

People from as diverse of places as inland Washington State to Wyoming have expressed dismay over liberal Californians moving into their communities and then voting for all the things that have ruined the very places they are running way from.

I think libs should be forced to live where they have imposed their vicious socialist rule and deal with the consequences.

Likewise, "immigrants" need to change conditions in their own lands, rather than take the easy road offered to them by our libs: Namely a pound of Conservative flesh in exchange for their liberal vote.

That bargain is a Faustian one and will end with the host exhausted and consumed and in the long run, the parasites also dead.

It's fascinating:

- the Bama, Reid & Pelosi shut out Republicans and blamed them as obstructionists, even though they enjoyed a supermajority for a while. (Mathematically impossible, but that was the liberal spin.)

- He called fellow Americans "enemies".

- He said Republicans could come along for the Mac Daddy joyride, but would have to "ride in the back".

Now that they have received a "SHELLACKING", he thinks it's now time to start focusing on jobs, and time for both sides to compromise. (Huh?)

He is completely out of touch. Jimmy Carter can breathe easy. BO plenty has replaced him as the WORST PRESIDENT EVER (WPE for those of you who love acronyms).

He's 2 years LATE on the job front. After his election in 2008, he was surprisingly clear in his belief that the winners dictate terms. "um, I won".
It was the citizens who spoke on Tuesday, and things have changed dramatically. "He LOST".

No compromises: Spending must be curtailed, tax cuts must be extended, and Obamacare must go. It is the Socialist leader who must now move to the right to catch up with the country. Any Republican who suggests or supports compromise now must be repealed at the earliest opportunity, because that is NOT what the electorate said on Tuesday.

jay

I know that no one will look at the link. Since I don't think that the tea party or any other party is the holy grail. And, I noticed that when the Supreme Court. said that it was okay for big corporations and people from overseas to give political donations in this country . The Dems thouht it would give the rich an advantage over the poor. But, Mitch McConnel said that it was a good decision. Then, it was showed that Mitchie was getting huge donations from overseas. And, from someone being investigated on Bribery charges. And, I saw on the news months ago that someone said that a Republican Congressman told him that the Republican party,(Didn't say American people) could not afford for the Dems to win at anything.
But, here's an article an the National Debt anyway:
http://zfacts.com/p/318.html

Rob

And just in case there is any doubt that BO Plenty is out of touch, consider these 2 thoughts:

- The country is borrowing and deficit-spending itself well into crisis, the economy is in the dumper, and unemployment holds steady at 10%. At this moment, he chooses to go on a $1B boondoggle to India, spending $200M a DAY. At least Carter had enough sense to put on a sweater and lower the thermostat in the White House. The current porcine elitist in the White House just doesn't get it. If there is a legitimate need for a trip, fine - but it doesn't need to be this extravagant. Instead of taxing us, and using our money for a boondoggle, $2B (again, OUR money) could be used to employ a lot of people.

- Is anyone else troubled by the timing of the Ben Break-the-banke announcement of the next $600B stimulus? The stock markets were poised to surge on the lift of the Republican tsunami on Wednesday, but the lift was tempered by inflation fears associated with BO's announced plan to print a lot more money. I believe it was deliberately timed to be announced on WEDNESDAY, to suppress the reaction to the Republican shellacking he received. What an idiot! This is no time to play games with the economy.

UG: Excellent metaphor - liberals as locusts. It captures the point perfectly.

On a broader scale, I would say that the same could be said about Socialism wherever it has been attempted throughout history. It has always failed, and has always left devesatation in it's wake.

Tying it back to Monica's post for today, we can paraphrase the Iron Lady, "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money to spend." Liberals love to spend other people's money like it was their own. They are spending money we don't have, for things we don't want.

DJ

Actually Socialism worked quite well in the Scandinavian countries; that is until the ethno-masochists in the ruling class there decided "diversity" and "multiculturalism" would be good for their long term well being. Well, needless to say it's ruining their countries. They're now forced to rethink the wisdom of their welfare state simply because they can't afford to support the unassiminable hordes of third-world refuse they've invited in. Socialism is not a problem in an advanced well educated homogeneous nation, radical liberalism is. When you inject a virulent strain of liberalism into the decision making process, dystopia is always the result.

Rob

DJ, it not just multiculturalism. You can't say Socialism in Scandinavia works "quite well" when every individual carries an average 43%-50% total tax burden. The incestuous relationship with unions is also crushing. The government takes half of everything, and the unions prosper with inescapable dues. VAT taxes make everything terrifically expensive, including gasoline consistently over $5/gallon.

The individual has to make do with whatever is left after losing more than half to taxes and unions. In Scandinavian countries, you work 6 months for the government, and the rest is all yours.

Socialism sucks the life out of people everywhere it has been attempted, without exception.

Ummahgummah

.

DJ, it is correct to say that some level of Socialism will work in a prosperous country like Sweden, as long as that country is homogenous and everyone shares a common work ethic and a generous social conscience for those who truly need help for no reasons like slovenness or an attitude that demands others work for them.

The turd world hordes that have been allowed into Sweden consume so much in resources, including a lost sense of public safety and conviviality.

The costs for housing, clothing and feeding these ingrates is compounded by the cost of surveillance, policing, imprisoning and all the other damage they do to Swedish society.

So yes, a limited form of Socialism will work within a homogenous culture.

Anyone should understand why productive people should hate to lift a finger for those who hate and despise them.

Ditto the posters of the DailyKOTZ.

I do NOT wish for any of my labor going to feed a single one of these dirtbags.

.

DJ

Rob, I said Socialism workED (past tense) quit well in the Scandinavian countries. If you gauge the standard and quality of living in those countries, they consistently rank higher than post 1960's USA by nearly all measures - high tax rates notwithstanding. Alas, third-world immigration is changing all that.

rickswrite

Don't look now but Barack Hussein Obama is taking a force to India with him larger than we had at the invasion of Guadalcanal in '42. Why? To stick a thumb in the eye of a major Hindu nation. Bet he does not bow to the Premier of India but instead makes it look like he's 'lording' it over him. Let's watch. I haven't been to Europe in a good while, but used to spend time there. Ummah's observations strike me as observant, even if not expressed for polite society. Yes, socialism in Scandinavia would not be what it's become with Third World degradations. But it likely would still see high suicide rates in "the best of all possible worlds." Instead of thugs, rape, street crime and "working the syetem," its problems would be more psychic and philosophical---which they always are in "peaceful" Scandinavia.

UG, another crucial factor is the native Swedes whom receive welfare have a sense of obligation to get off assistance as soon as possible; at the very least, they appreciate the assistance and acknowledge the sacrifice their fellow countrymen are making. On the other hand, the turd-world hordes have a sense of entitlement, just like the people of darker hue have here in the USA. That's the big difference.
