Great reporting on the enemy Monica. Where is Michael Neudow and the ACLU when we need them?

DJ

M/M,

Haven't you heard? The ACLU wholeheartedly supports the Ground Zero mosk. Did you expect anything different?

Sunni group claims suicide attack on Shiite mosque in Iran as toll rises to 27

Brothers of faith could attack any US target from the mosque based on activities in the Middle East. It is even possible the Iranians could bomb the NY mosque to get at the Sunnis. What would happen if we killed/hung Bin Ladin?

Eighty percent of the Pakistanis are Sunni. It is a disaster in the making to allow them to come here and attach themselves to this mosque.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.” — Cicero, Roman statesman and lawyer

Cicero was perfectly capable of acknowledging that "electioneering and scrabbling after office can be a wretched business." But whether his breakdown had been purely physical, or perhaps something more, he retained his passionate conviction that public life was the ideal. Leaving Athens he crossed the Aegean to Asia and met Rutilius Rufus, the old enemy of the publicani, and still in exile 15 years after being convicted in the most notorious scandal in Roman legal history....Rutilius was an object lesson in how dangerous it could be to uphold ancient values against the predatory greed of corrupt officials, and yet, despite the hounding, he did not despair of the Republic." Tom Holland RUBICON

gringoNOTE: So where are the Romans when you need them? I sometimes get a funny impression about our Republic Anno Domini 2010. Things, and the imploding order, are a bit too much for the men. The only hope may be warrior women. Isn't that a strange impression?

People are celebrating the Defense Dept move announced by Sec. Gates. The Defense Dept will be better and cost less: the first major improvement made in government. The first international move to reform the chaotic mess is to show the international community we can and will deal with our border situation. The place to start is to confront Mexico to stem the tide of migrants, and develop a plan to stop the drug cartels. Then onto undo NAFTA to stabilize the US-Mexican situation. The people to deal with are US businesses, bankers, and wealthy Mexicans that have not considered what to do with the dispossessed in their reorganizational planning. Obama seems serious about making changes in Defense, and he must know that the stimulus/bailouts must be stopped and the immigration problem is part of that.

Kingofthenet

No matter what the Mosque opponents say, it all comes down to equating the religion itself and ALL followers with what happened on 9/11. Otherwise there really isn't any other issue, of course the opponents would say, think about the victim's families, which basically means some victims family blame 9/11 on the religion itself and we should respect that feeling, I say No.

Is this finally the economic collapse?
By Keith R. McCullough, contributorAugust 11, 2010: 2:07 PM ET

FORTUNE --

Despite the many differences between Japan and the US, there is one similarity that continues to matter most in the risk management model my colleagues and I use at Hedgeye, our research firm -- debt as a percentage of GDP. Now that the US can't cut interest rates any lower, the only option left on the table is what the Fed just announced it would start doing -- buying Treasury debt. And that could lead the country to the brink of collapse: According to economists Carmen Reinhart & Ken Rogoff, whose views we share, crossing the 90% debt/GDP threshold is the equivalent of crossing the proverbial Rubicon of economic growth. It's a point from which it's almost impossible to return.

Ken Buck in Colorado, is another victory for the Tea Party political revitalization, and defeat for the old guard Republican, globalist group. What is clear is the Tea Party strength derives its strength from its message of federal government reform.

Is Bill Clinton a lost scion of Peter the Great, the family branch having lost hope and having moved to Arkansas? Is there a confluence of this old Aristocracy, some with moldy money and those without, and banker Globalism, as a means back to former regal grandeur? Does this explain Clinton's support for Andrew Romanoff?

Lest our doom and gloom seem built entirely on technical measurements, what they boil down to is actually quite simple -- an idea about our country which dates back to 1835. Alexis De Tocqueville, author of Democracy in America, which was published that year, seemed to warn of this day when he wrote: "The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." *

Come the November elections I'm going to hold my nose and pull the lever for the proven to be untrustworthy Republicans. If they win a majority in either or both Houses of Congress, they'd better grow a spine and IMMEDIATLY start the process of repealing and or reversing all the damage done by the Long-legged Mack-daddy and his regime.

The GOP has one last chance. If they blow it, a third party will emerge and kick their sorry pathetic aisle crossing RINO arses out of there.

God let it be so!

August 12, 2010
How A GOP November Victory Could Bring Its Death
By Lee Cary
If the GOP gains control of one or both Houses of Congress in the November midterm elections, and then does not make good on its promises to reverse and counter the Democrats' socialist agenda, we could hear the death knell that signals the end of the Grand Old Party.

The wisdom of the conventional response to conservatives who threaten, out of frustration, to align with a third party is well-established by tradition and history. Theodore Roosevelt's Bull Moose Party brought the nation President Woodrow Wilson, and Ross Perot's entry into the 1992 race elected Bill Clinton. Both were movements based on personality-in-the-moment. TR didn't like Taft, and Perot had a grudge against Bush 41. In the 2000 election, Perot only begrudgingly endorsed George W. Bush, laying aside his animosity against the family name.

On those two occasions, when a third party played the spoiler, personality-in-the-moment was the primary driver. National circumstances and the mood of the voters are much different today.

Still feeling betrayed by the GOP's failure to live up to its promises going back to soon after the Contract with America, conservative voters are preparing to march to the polls in decisive numbers, but not with wild-eyed enthusiasm for the GOP. As they vote to oust the current Democrat Congress, under their breath, they'll be muttering the warning, "This is your last chance, Republicans."

If they invest the GOP with power again only to be betrayed again, conservative voters will not passively accept the fate of having no political party in which to believe. And because their angst over the future of the country that their children and grandchildren will inherit runs deep, they won't shrug off another betrayal as merely representing politics as usual. Not this time, for these are unusual and troubling times, and settling for politics as usual will bring intolerable consequences.

Thanks, DJ. I missed the ACLU weighing in, but it doesn't surprise me that they back the Ground Zero mosque. I'm sure they support the government flying the Iman on the taxpayer dime to the Middle East to raise funds for it.

Thanks for the cartoon UG and other posts. Isn't it time to for the middle finger to make an appearance to show people what these LIEberals are doing to the families of the 9/11 victims.

M/M

Longrifle - save your breath. I can't believe people aren't even talking about what they did to that Afghan girl on the cover of time magazine. If the stoned some muslim women in the middle of Times Square and dropped a "dirty bomb" in lower Manhattan, the LIEberals would still make excuses for them.

Indeed LIEberals will always make excuses for the inferior. Even as they commit mass murder. It'll be our fault for "making them feel bad" about themselves.

What a great idea. We could simply pour pig blood on each and every parcel of land around the 9/11 area and advertise it. Maybe distribute some more pig blood to all the building material sellers to taint those products as well. LOL

A new PEW report has been issued :

What Pew Reports The study indicates, "An estimated 340,000 of the 4.3 million babies born in the United States in 2008 were the offspring of unauthorized immigrants. ... Unauthorized immigrants comprise slightly more than 4% of the adult population of the U.S., but because they are relatively young and have high birthrates, their children make up a much larger share of both the newborn population (8%) and the child population (7% of those younger than age 18) in this country. ... Nearly four-in-five (79%) of the 5.1 million children (younger than age 18) of unauthorized immigrants were born in this country and therefore are U.S. citizens. In total, 4 million U.S.-born children of unauthorized immigrant parents resided in this country in 2009, alongside 1.1 million foreign-born children of unauthorized immigrant parents."
---------------

The conclusion they reach is that there are too many children and infants, to deny them citizenship. This sounds like a variation on "the banks are too large to fail".

The figures are estimates Do you believe 80% of their children under the age of 18 are born here?

New York Times, February 18, 2007 :

The Mexican government failed to make promised investments of billions of dollars in roads, schooling, sanitation, housing, and other infrastructure to accommodate the new maquiladoras (border factories) envisioned under NAFTA. As a result few were built, and China surpassed Mexico in goods produced for the United States market. Instead of the anticipated increase, the number of manufacturing jobs in Mexico dropped from 4.1 million in 2000 to 3.5 million in 2004.
------

Sounds like Mexican noncompliance in NAFTA has been going on too long to ignore. Like regarding many issues, what is keeping state diplomats from negotiating here, or the country modifying its actions? We should selectively block imports until adjustments are made, or heavily tax those companies involved to pay for the cost of illegal immigrants.

KingoftheNet, i thought of other ways to say this so as not to appear insulting but there's only one way to describe your approach re: The Mosque, and that is the ramblings of a blind fool. Why do you think Muslims built a mosque on the Temple Mount? Why do you think the organization pushing the Mosque is named the Cordoba Institute (think Cordoba, Spain, think Moslem invasion of S. Europe). It is what THEY DO, my good man! Their religion is their politics and their politics is their religion. This Mosque is not intended to be like a church down the street in your neighborhood; it is intended to be a beacon to the followers of Islam that a blow has been struck against what they regard as the Muslim world's foremost obstacle to world domination. And while YOU prattle on about freedom of religion, and, oh, how often THAT banner is being waved by those you least expect it from, Islamists here and abroad will be giving themselves a nod and a wink over what they consider to be another victory in their war against the West.

I know what the common views are about mooslims and pig's blood, but there's nothing like getting an official response from mooslim authority.

ps. Why is there not more appreciation for Imam Zero? Is he not awakening an Infidel Giant?

No establishment of religion always meant no tax money to religious agencies. While Ronald Reagan recognized the need to pander to the religious right for votes, he never sold out the country by giving them money. George W Bush managed to overwhelm us who stood up for separation by calling us anti-religious and uncompassionate. So he was able to start handing out money. Now we are paying for this imam and Glenn Beck has established a madrasa pushing first to end separation of church and state. The latized version of Al Qeada motto jihad and Islam probably gives a clue to the kind of religious law he would like to impose.
