From today's New York Times:
"Russia's energy minister announced a broad program of cooperation with Iran in the oil, natural gas, and petrochemical industries on Wednesday that appeared to invite Russian companies to contravene sanctions the Obama administration adopted just two weeks ago."
If the Russians are already blowing off the sanctions they just voted for, so will everyone else---because they know Obama will not do anything about it. And Iran gets ever closer to a nuclear weapon.
Yet another example of how the world's terrorists, tyrants, and thugs dismiss Obama as a 98 pound weakling. Pray we survive him. Quite literally.
Well i guess our illustrious Vice President "Hair Plugs" was right , they're testing this guy's mettle. We have a socialist punk in the White House with a mental patient for a Vice. Hold on it's going to be a bumpy ride.

That proves the most basic economic rule, people will always follow the money. That tendency can be repressed for a while as under Stalin and Mao, but it will always rise again.
Great link yesterday about Nixon. Poor Richard had his demons with which he struggled, but he was one of the most brilliant political strategists of his time. Monica had a fabulous opportunity in working with him and really let us down by not stepping up as McCain's running mate. That might have turned the tide.

Is Monica not giving 98 lb weaklings their due, especially in the case of Barry The Thin Socialist?
Under AKA Soetoro the national debt has surpassed astronomically what it was even under fiscal socialist (and Monica fave) George Bush. Even Barry's own Debt Commission is warning of coming fiscal calamity.
Who could have done better if wanting to achieve the momentous socialist goal of drowning American Free Enterprise in oceans of debt and bureaucracy?
Weakling?
And how describe those, from the boardrooms to the ghettos to the Republican castratos who made such a "weakling" possible ?

"And Iran gets ever closer to a nuclear weapon."
----------------
Had Bush NOT gotten us into a needless 'war' with Iraq, and had we exited Afghanistan early-on, right after Al Qaeda was degraded and the Taliban routed, we'd be in a MUCH better position, both politically and militarily, to take-out Iran's nuclear capabilities.

Obama’s debt commission warns of fiscal ‘cancer’
By Dan Balz
Monday, July 12, 2010; A02
BOSTON — The co-chairmen of President Obama’s debt and deficit commission offered an ominous assessment of the nation’s fiscal future here Sunday, calling current budgetary trends a cancer "that will destroy the country from within" unless checked by tough action in Washington.
Bowles said that unlike the current economic crisis, which was largely unforeseen before it hit in fall 2008, the coming fiscal calamity is staring the country in the face. "This one is as clear as a bell," he said. "This debt is like a cancer."
The commission leaders said that, at present, federal revenue is fully consumed by three programs: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. "The rest of the federal government, including fighting two wars, homeland security, education, art, culture, you name it, veterans — the whole rest of the discretionary budget is being financed by China and other countries," Simpson said.

Largely unseen? By who pray tell? People have been predicting what happened in 2008 for at least 15 years prior. In fact many economic experts were screaming warnings from the roof tops during the entire stretch Dubya was president! From the year Jan 2001 to Jan 2009 the national debt grew from 5.8 trillion to 11.8 trillion i.e. it more than DOUBLED. Obama is just picking up where Bush left off.
Here is a national debt by year chart. See for yourselves:

Monica on WABC Radio today is playing the hideous Gibson tapes. I like hearing her out on it. These are the tapes made by the target of his wrath, Oksana, his Russian sex object (a spectacular cutie, by the way.). These tapes make clear this is now Mel from Hell, the "tough" Aussie who was once widely admired as a rare cutting-edge kind of movie star.
If one needs any vindication of the Greeks, "Who the gods would destroy, they first turn into a mid-life crisis maniac," here it is. Gibson sounds like he lost everything he ever had. The degeneration is awesome, vile and extremely ugly.
Monica, while holding him to account, also indicts the Russianette with the old meme of "gold-digger."
Summing up my reaction yesterday to a co-respondent:
Pity for him? Compassion? Yes, maybe, in due course. But right now? Restraining order to keep him away from her? Forget it. I would have thrown his crazed butt into the slammer yesterday. You don't "reason" with or make excuses for someone in a state of violent swinehood. "Treat" him later, after he's cooled off.
Monica did not mention some of the celebrity jerk's handiwork as he used his Hollywood power status over his Russian sex object. According to reports, he even knocked out one of her teeth as she was holding in her arms his baby daughter.
Monica, I don't know if she's the "gold-digger" you think she is,or another immigrant looking for a better life, but what does it matter? How many Hollywood schmucks do you know who don't deserve to have the gold dug out of them?
Full disclosure: I know something about domestic violence. I grew up with it.

Spy Swap puts end to Fund-raising or Fact Gathering?
Bill Gertz has an article in the Wash Times :
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jul/13/spy-swap-puts-halt-to-fact-finding/
Did Hillary and Paneta help to reset relations a decade ago by inviting Russians to join the Democratic Party? It seems when it comes to fund-raising these days, anything goes except embezzlement of funds, a certain no-no if you get caught. Let's see - what would Russians do in the Party? Maybe arrange deals with Russia, with states like Georgia, and say a pipeline deal. In trade - a pipeline to Germany. Maybe including GAZPROM pipeline to Iran, as an incentive to drop their need for nuclear energy, at least as a posturing position. Mission accomplished.
In return, the Russians perhaps found a few way to endow the Democratic Party and its membership. How many Georgian Laris in a dollar?
Too bad - you know a pipeline through Afghanistan is possible and Russians could be fighting beside Americans there. Leon?
These syndicated deals - financiers, political parties and associates, speech-givers collecting foreign aid as a fee, and big deal makers involving public money and government layouts, are they good for the country? How can we know when it is all behind the curtain, outside the government and the apparatus for public scrutiny?
You know - economically anti-aligned nations like China use these economic arrangements to aggrandize themselves and their political philosophies. If their economic systems fail because of endemic political weakness, then this bolsters them up, not to mention it pads the pockets of main party members - who continue to remain outside of free markets. They have their cake and eat it too - largely at our expense.

Not having talked to Bowles, I'll have to guess what he means.
He doesn't mean pre-Bail Out 2008. He means post Bail-out 2008. Obviously most everybody was warning about imminent fiscal calamity back then, That was the whole rationale for dragooning everybody from Bush to John McCain to sign on to the Giant Bailout. The political class that signed on to the Bailout thought it was preventing, or at least staving off for a while, the Bad. (Some of them still think that way.)

The GAZPROM pipeline deal comes on the heels of the BP debacle in the Gulf - did the Dems abandon BP and its drilling everywhere plan, and go with the Russians?
To the victors go the spoils. A little gas here, and a little oil there.

Gringoman,
I think he meant pre bailout. The key word in his statement is "before." Largely unforeseen BEFORE it hit in the fall of 2008.
Why would a man so sophisticated as him make such a misleading statement? As a misleading maneuver for the purpose of covering up for the Federal Government's 30+ years of profligacy? To trick the inattentive masses into believing no one seen the 2008 economic crisis beforehand? Is he trying to preserve what little confidence the citizens have left for our leaders? He knows the proverbial excrement is going to hit the fan full force soon.
My guess is Bowles doesn't want the public to be aware of the fact the government is KNOWINGLY making the same gigantic mistake twice in such a short time period.

STOP THE PRESSES! Now reading about how Europe is 'disappointed' with Barack Ayers-Obama! And i just luv it. Never will i forget how those fairies fawned all over the First Muslim seeing him as an opposite to Mr. Bush and, gee-gosh, a sorta 'one of them'. Him, with his disgusting request to speak in front of the Brandenburg Gate so he could more cinematically drag his own flag through the mud in front of the adoring non-American public. Did i say "his flag". Whoops, i know that ain't right---HIS flag has a crescent moon on it. Speaking of flags, his politically calculated stunts of NOT wearing a flag lapel pin then changing to WEARING a flag lapel pin and so on and so forth....ah gee, i see that chin of his stuck up in the air in his 'heyyy, look at me pose' and my thoughts turn to just once, just once would i like to readjust his position as my old DIs would say.....rick

Asia doesn't worry about race or the politically correct. It considers whites more civilized and productive than blacks, and Asians more civilized and industrious than all of them.
It knows that blacks, and now even whites, have nothing to teach it about family, the tree of life. It will stay Asian, no matter what the others do with themselves in their transient gyrations or pleasures. They can stay ignorant about Asia. Asians don't mind. They even like it that way.

Perhaps my interpretation was incorrect, but you said "It will stay Asian..."

Of course I don't always dot all my 'i's' and cross all my 't's', but yes, your interpretation was incorrect. You're confusing Asia, the matrix, with (1) individual cases and (2) the worldwide Asian diaspora. Asia will stay Asian, I'd say, for at least the next 500 years, and probably much longer. Of course Asian individuals will continue to, uh, inter-act, with Caucasians (and to a much lesser extent with non-Caucasians). Some of these inter-actions will even lead to marriage and children. This will have but a negligible effect on the Asian mother lands. Have you noticed the population numbers just for Chindia (China and India)? Even 100,000 inter=racial marriages is only a drop in their genetic bucket.) And let me assure you that the majority of Asians are fine with that. Unlike in Libworld's USA,its media and Hollywood etc, you will find no well-orchestrated campaigns for racial integration or mixing. The majority of Asians are content to remain Asian. They tend to look at the behavior and manners of blacks (and others), not the color. They are not inclined to tolerate scam artists. They would deeply resent being brow-breaten and assigned quotas for the sake of an "inter-racial" agenda.
Is my point any clearer?

Actually, everybody, i wish i'd never sent that post. Chalk it up to what the Left is trying to pull, from the White House on down that's driving me to militancy myself. THE FRIENDS OF ALL MANKIND
(from an Internet gentleman, 'Osama's Pajamas')
///////The Democrats have this "enemies list" --- denominated in epithets aimed at the people whose wallets they wish to hijack and take up residence inside. You can be a ‘Racist!’ and you can be a ‘Homophobe!’ and you can be a ‘Teabagger!’ --- a homosexual man taking his partner's testicles into his mouth. You can be ‘Selfish!’ and you can be a ‘Hick!’ and you can be a ‘Rube!’ You can be a ‘Right-wing-nut!’ and you can be "Unenlightened!" and you can be a ‘Fascist!’ --- although no one more closely approaches the precise description of ‘Fascist!’ than the usual Demo propagandist --- either official, or self-appointed.
So all you have to do to occupy multiple epithets on the Demos' enemies list is to insist that they take their hands off yourself, off your wallet, off your property, off your kids, off your diet, off your healthcare, off your household appliances, off your car, off your weapons of self-defense, off your liberty, and off your freedom of speech. Insist on all these good things - and that qualifies you to be spat upon by nasty, mean-spirited scum --- by The Friends of All Mankind --- by a gang of lying, thieving, sticky-fingered, bloodsxcking, predatory humanitarian thugs --- by the Democrat party, in other words. No political party in the history of America more profoundly deserves absolute and outright destruction.

PENTAGON POLITICIAN?
(Monica's designated "98 lb. weakling" has made his choice for the General to replace David Petraeus at CENTCOM. The fiery MCC (MilitaryCorruption.com) has something to say about it in this extract....)
////////It is a matter of record that the Marine Corps Court of Military Appeals backed up a ruling of a lower court that Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani of the so-called "Haditha Marines," had been "unfairly charged" in the alleged massacre of 2005 and was the victim of, and we quote, "unlawful command influence."
DID MATTIS DO IT TO GET THAT FOURTH STAR?
ONLY HE AND GOD KNOW FOR SURE
James Mattis - once well thought of and respected throughout the entire Marine Corps - seemed to morph into a man without honor as he got ready to pin on his fourth star, taking the witness stand trying to make sure Chessani would be the scapegoat for the "politically-incorrect" killings in Iraq five years ago.
We seem to recall a very "un-PC" statement in 2005 by Mattis that won cheers from many Marines, but disdain and disgust from liberals in Washington, when he said: " . . . it's quite a lot of fun to fight. You know, it's a hell of a hoot. I like brawling. It's fun to shoot some people." Maybe those words came back to haunt Mattis recently, when he was passed over for Commandant of the Corps, the top job going to Gen. James Amos.
Why then, would Obama pick a man like Mattis? Was it because he was the very best choice for the job and no politics was involved? Or is it true and a fact of life, all promotions above major involve "politics," especially the flag ranks, when you want more than anything to add that fourth star on your shoulders?
Gen. Mattis deserves the benefit of the doubt and our very best wishes. But we're going to be watching him - closely. And so will a good many Marines. Especially those he shamefully threw "under the bus" during the Haditha trials at Camp Pendleton.

Fox News commentator and best-selling author Dick Morris says former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is the clear front-runner for the Republican nomination for president.
//////At the Gringo Advisory Board, the controversial Sarah Palin remains the favorite for Republican Presidential nomination 2012. In fact, the only dissident is GringoBaba, who feels that she, unlike Monica's George Bush and Big Republicans, does not sufficiently appreciate Islam as "the Religion of Peace."
However, we know there are many nay-sayers, even among self-styled "conservatives." They tell us that Palin has too many negatives, she can't win, she sold out to John McCain in AZ, she shoots wolves from a helicopter, the Establishment will never accept her, the Constitution Party will never endorse her, she's not Ivy League like Jeb Bush,Barack Obama and Monica, yada yada.
Well, look, we can listen. We're willing to consider bright ideas, other possibilities. So speak up. If not Sarah, who?
Tell us about it.

How about Robert Gates? He has a long record of service, and has served with distinction. He has worked on both sides of the isle. He understands Russia and China. He knows how to put the Latinos
into order. I would think he might have wide appeal. How about it, Secretary Gates?

If we are going to move forward in this country, our foremost task is to completely extinguish the old oppressive paternalistic value system; that which is still held by a few hangers-on in our modern "enlightened" era. Sarah Palin is an exemplar and hero of those hangers-on. Sarah Palin wants us to return to when women were slaves to a puritanical white-male dominated society. Do we really want to return to those hideous times? I think not! :)

Sarah going rogue on McLame - trump move for Sarah.
Another thing in favor of Robert Gates besides experience and all that,
His birth father's name is nothing like Fernando Ricardo y de Acha III.
His weakness might be economics, but hey many Presidents were strong in one area, and relied on others for assistance. He reminds me a bit of Cheney, just without the shotgun image; a bit of George I; and a hint of Truman.

Mark Levin, Constitutional scholar and best-selling author, spoke of Sarah Palin tonight to his WABC Radio audience of 7 million. Levin sounded almost like the majority on the Gringo Advisory Board. He said he doesn't agree with Palin on everything, but he agrees with her on a whole lot. He admires her very much.
"She's solid as a rock."
He was oozing with contempt for the Romney operative who, behind a cloak of anonymity, said that Sarah Palin is not a serious person.
GAB, by the way, still welcomes anyone at Monicamemo to tell us who if not Sarah Palin. You may enter more than one name, if you have more than one.

The economic crisis isn't just about the absolute debt level. More important is the debt to GDP ratio. If you can find a graph of that it shows some interesting things. We finished WW II with debt a bit over 120% GDP, about double what some international treaty, Maastricht I think, says it should be. Also about where Greece is now. We dropped the ratio steadily till the 1980s with barely a tick up for Vietnam. We could do that because we had enormous productive capacity and almost no competition, and people could buy our products because of good paying jobs.
After Clinton got it headed down, GWB pushed it back over 70% and going straight up as it continues with Obama. If it doesn't turn around that is called bankruptcy. As Pat Buchanan points out there will be a Day of Reckoning. We basically have two choices. We can cut spending by having a smaller government and fewer services and becoming a nation like Haiti. Or we can do as we did after the War and grow GDP. Some say that is impossible. True enough if we continue to allow corporate thugs to ship American jobs abroad so they get bigger bonuses, bring in the threat of illegal aliens, sell misrepresented products and so on. Before he fell in love with Nazism Henry Ford had it right, produce a lot of a good product and pay the producers very well.

"Before he fell in love with Nazism Henry Ford had it right, produce a lot of a good product and pay the producers very well."
--------------------
Borderbriar,
You bring up some very good points but I take issue with your last sentence. It is this: back when Henry Ford was paying his employee an unprecedented high hourly wages, the world was vastly different than today. Today, with international trade agreements and all, the high paid American worker is pitted against workers in east-Asia and elsewhere that pay their employees a tiny fraction of what our workers enjoy thus putting American manufacturing companies at a great disadvantage. With globalization in full swing, the only way for the USA to compete in the manufacturing sector is to either innovate and employ technology such as robotics and computerized machinery to reduce per unit cost or drastically decrease the wages of workers. Thomas Friedman is correct, when it comes to international economic competition the world is now flat.
