President Obama went to Racine, Wisconsin today ostensibly to discuss jobs (or the lack thereof) and the economy (weak, weak, weak). Instead, he launched into a lengthy diatribe about the evils of the Republican party.
He ripped into the GOP as having "pretty much the same" approach to solving problems: "cut taxes for the wealthy, cut rules for corporations, and cut working folks loose to fend for themselves." (I know: he's the King of the Cliche. Dude needs fresh material.) He attacked the Republicans as "fearmongers" on health care: "All of you were told, you know, you were going to lose your health care. Death panels are going to be set up. Remember that? And now we're about three, four months into it, and everybody's looking around." He also said that the GOP only opposed him to "get more votes" and that that makes people "pretty cynical about politics."
Somebody call Dr. Phil, because we have some kind of psychological pathology here. To paraphrase David Geffen about the Clintons, the man lies with such ease, it's disturbing.
Every accusation he leveled at the GOP is a flat-out lie, and the charge about the GOP being only interested in getting votes is pure projection. Ditto the allegation about creating cynicism.
SOS with this guy!
Here's an idea: now that 12 other countries are on the scene in the Gulf to help contain and clean up the oil gusher, I say we all board their ships and beg them to take us with them.
Barack Hussein Obama: The pathological liar in thief.

A central focus on Kagan's support for judicial activism, would do the Conservative Party a good turn.
This would make up for the 1 dimensional response of Congress members representing only the company interests of BP.

I believe the well could be plugged by placing two charges near the well, one just above the producing layer exploding first, and one above that, firing second. It would require two external wells, and gee - they actually have two.

The difference between the Clintons' mendacity and Barry's is their core motive. The Clintons lie in order to acquire power and social status. Barry lies in order to advance his nation wrecking agenda.

Just thought you guys would like to know. The noose is slowly tightening around King Richard Cheney's neck. Truth has a way of eking out.

Those tending to bail? Now would be a good time.
Until something else really important arises, au revoir.

When the Israelli Air Force heads toward Mecca, the fashionable place to be is not the Dead Sea, but rather taking in Soreq Cave. Very interesting recrudescenses of CaCO3 down there. For safety, take an extra flashlight, one with one of those mechanical cranks.

I have a better idea, Monica. (In fact two better ideas).
1. How about we get the entire Congress to board these ships and be delivered to where they can govern least, or not govern at all? (Yes, Dear, that would include your Republicans who are also implicated in the Fannie and Freddie trillion-dollar rip-off, not to mention how they and their corporate pals cleverly rolled over for Obamanationcare, slickly voting against it, and yet, supinely, not even demanding that Congress get the same plan it was foisting on everybody else! Cara Mia, who do your Republicans think they're fooling---the Gringo Advisory Board?)
2. If you're interested in a much more exciting sea voyage, let me reccommend a virtual passage to the Orient with Vasco da Gama, from the 16th century, back when real men were Portuguese, or Castilians. It's celebrated in the national epic, THE LUSIADS, by the poet-vagabond-sailor Luis Vaz de Camoes. Battles with muslims are many, as Bacchus sides with the Islamites, but Venus supports the adventurers of the West. Do you want to book passage?

Gringoman, Thanks for reminding everyone that the Republicans are indeed complicit in the hollowing-out of America.
They're just less Moonbatty about how they do it.
Their motives may be money as opposed to nation wrecking but the result is the same.

What “Comprehensive Immigrations Reform” REALLY Means
After listening to his speech on “comprehensive immigration reform”, I’m convinced to the core of my being that the current White House occupant has a great future in the fertilizer business.
he wants to stop “punishing young people for the actions of their parents”? Great. Instead, let’s teach the children of illegal aliens that their parents breaking the law is fine and dandy with the U.S. government…great plan. That will go a long way towards teaching them respect for the law.
he makes an emotional appeal against the prohibitive cost of “rounding up” millions of “undocumented workers”? We don’t need to “round up” those millions of illegals alien invaders. STOP WASTING OUR TAXES GIVING THEM FREE STUFF!! SECURE OUR BORDER, ENFORCE OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS (INCLUDING LABOR LAWS) AND WATCH THEM GO HOME.
If our border is SO SECURE, why are AMERICANS being killed, kidnapped and intimidated by ILLEGALS? Then with your next breath you say our border is too vast to cover? The executive branch is charged with the enforcement of laws. So, what are you saying? That you can’t do your job? yOU’RE RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING THE BORDER. DO yOUR JOB! If you can’t do your job, RESIGN!
occupant “waxes eloquently” (in the minds of his brainwashed followers) about the morality of not breaking up families…and the morality of “living up to our highest ideals as a nation”. he’s a manipulative, intellectually dishonest, two faced pathological liar who’s true goal is to create tens of millions of new Democrats who’ll vote to keep their “free” stuff coming.
That would be the “free” stuff that you pay for with your taxes. You remember taxes don’t you? That would be the money you earned that government criminals extort from you under threat of fine and/or imprisonment…thanks Woodrow Wilson. Keep a close eye on your taxes…they’re about to go up. Way up. Not on “the rich”…on you.
I’m an AMERICAN “mutt” who’s a descendant of LEGAL immigrants. America is more than a patch of dirt that happens to be populated by humans. America is an idea. The idea of America is that we’re a nation of LAWS, not ruled by men. If you can’t obey our laws to come here, get out! NOW!!

Ummah,
One wonders if Monica will ever come to such a conclusion. Not encouraging is her crush on the Bush boys, or anything with an 'R' nicely tatooed to its forehead. Too bad she never met Vasco da Gama.

What is becoming increasing clear is the Bush administration's involvement in attempting to exempt the oil and gas industry from responsibility for environmental damage. Even people in O&G admit it seems like 2 steps forward and 1 back again - and the BP disaster in the Gulf is the result. They are developing as cheaply as possible, their workers not even understanding what they are doing, getting the product out of the ground the cheapest manner possible, often employing the cheapest chemical for a task regardless of its impact. The government has exempted them from safe air and water rules.
The environment is absent in their plans, including gas development; their consideration consists of minimizing lawsuits raised against them.
Do we need these wildcat operations? Ought we not be more circumspect? We do not even know where they're selling their product - possibly to China. We all know how it is easier to despoil Africa than it is the US east coast. Perhaps BP was not hesitant to "oil" a few tarboys if it came to that.

This environmental message is FOR REPUBLICANS, even though they say stupid things like OSHA regulations impeded the cleanup in the Gulf, JUST AFTER THEY GUSHERED MILLIONS OF GALLONS INTO THE GULF WATERS.
REPUBLICANS understand profitability, right? And who of them would let their daughters go out with drunken sailors that have aids? That is the sort of thing oil companies are doing in their operations. We should expect more prudence and planning in these things.

Truther--Your remarks clearly demonstrate that the information sources upon which you rely do not bother with facts.
Posted by: mjfell | July 01, 2010 at 04:40 PM
.
Whose daughters do you mean specifically, truther? There's Meghan who's a complete goof and a dangerous one at that. Then there are the Bush daughters who don't need sailors since they do the drinking themselves.
i won't deny that BP skimped on safety and following regulations, but that doesn't mean that the solution is to stop allowing the other companies conducting the operations.
Who knows if BP has something to gain from all of this? Sounds cynical? Well, we live in a cynical age, the age of obama.
Who knows if BP have some sort of "green" investment going which benefits from loss of oil production long-term.
In any case, BAN BP by all means form the gulf, but allow the rest to carry on.

Advisory to Truther re BP///////
According to reliable sources:
1. George Bush has not been in office since January, 2009. By my calculation that's 18 months. (17 3/4 for the fussy.)
2. The current President is Barack Soetoro Hussein Obama. He's held that position, Constitutionally or not, since January 2010.
3. The single largest receiver of BP money in the 2008 Election Campaign: The very same BSH Obama.
