"WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law is getting a mixed verdict in the first comprehensive look by neutral experts: More Americans will be covered, but costs are also going up.

Economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department concluded in a report issued Thursday that the health care remake will achieve Obama's aim of expanding health insurance - adding 34 million to the coverage rolls.

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, since Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, the report warned.

It's a worrisome assessment for Democrats."

All this was indeed predictable. And a lot of it has been predicted, not only by the intelligent people posting on this board.

The only way to lower heath care costs is to

a. practice preventive medicine.

b. ELIMINATE FRAUD

c. Make it a two-tier system where there's a basic public coverage with basic services. Anyone who wants more, can avail themselves of privately practicing doctors and clinics.

d. leaders from President on down must communicate that health is an individual responsibility FIRST and not an entitlement that others have to pay for.

This ties into preventive activities and nutrition. A healthy populace is also a productive one.

Which in turn is good for the economy.

The problem is that the Bama is not interested in ridding the system, which is firmly in democRATic hands, of fraud, but rather he is intent on eliminating private practice.

Here in New York, the latest in a string of million-dollar medicaid frauds is emerging, having been perpetrated by one of the State democRATS who owned and operated a string of clinics that have been padding their bills for years.

The cost of fraud in NYS alone is billions EACH AND EVERY YEAR.

So if you really want to save money you hire fraud investigators rather than new IRS agents.

Then, you have MEANINGFUL punishment and LOSS OF LICENSING for anyone convicted of fraud.

This will not only improve taxpayer morale but also that of the honest operators who are competing on a very skewed playing field with the ripoff artists.

But then, the Bama comes form Illinois, which is ten times more corrupt than New York.

For the Bama corruption is second nature and there's no way you're gonna see this guy on the frontlines, fighting fraud.

I mean, just look at all the shady deals and the blackmail and the arm-twisting that went on to get BamaCare passed.

How is that supposed to lower costs?

The Louisiana Purchase, the complete cost exemption for the entire state, Nebraska, the Special Union Deals and so on.. how are those things going to convince anyone that this thing is good for the country at large?

This bill wasn't passed by persuasion arrived at by reasoned argumentation and negotiation!

No, this bill was passed the way Brutus passed his knife into Caesar's back.

Here's hoping that the Attorneys-general will litigate against this costly monstrosity!

The ultimate clue that this is NOT a good bill is the fact that there's a MANDATE in there.

If something is good you don't need to FORCE it on people.

It never ceases to amaze me why so-called conservative talk-show hosts invite Sharpton on their shows. To make matters worse, they always underestimate Fat Al and try to get all buddy-buddy with him. Sharpton invariably keeps his distance and stays focused on the theme: white-racist/black-victim ergo forcing them to bend to his will lest they be labled racist. This was a good interview. A week after my Tea Party I heard that my school taxes were going up yet again. ( And the teachers union is not getting any of the Federal stimulus money because they didn't agree to the terms of the deal. So that means my local taxes are going up and my Federal taxes are being used to educate a kid in some other state.
