About That Arizona Immigration Law

I'm going to deal with the new Arizona immigration law in full this weekend on the radio show, but here I want to point out two important but largely missed points.

1. The Arizona law simply strengthens existing law, which the federal and previous state governments have failed to enforce. Police can already stop illegal aliens, which the Arizona courts have upheld. Police can already ask them about their legal status, which has been supported by the U.S. Supreme Court. And police can already detain illegals. The Arizona law doesn't invent the wheel here. It merely puts some steel into it.

2. As with most things that involve liberal opposition, there is a huge irony in play. Liberals are all for a "living" Constitution when it involves loosening up government power to do all kinds of things the Founders never intended. But when circumstances change and government is required to exercise tighter power to deal with an emergency, liberals reflexively oppose it. They're all for expanded government power when it suits their interests (the government takeovers of health care, the banks, the cars, and the energy sector), but scream bloody murder when expanded government power doesn't suit their agenda (national security, immigration.) With regard the Arizona bill, liberals are wedded to old notions of what constitutes racial profiling and discrimination. This law aims at illegal activity and NOT race, irrespective of the fact that most illegals are Hispanic. In fact, in Arizona, 80% of all illegals are Hispanic. That fact is the illegals' responsibility, not ours. No other nation permits this kind of illegal invasion. In this case, the left-wing, politically motivated and faux argument for "liberty" and "civil rights" should not be an excuse for a dearth of common sense and pure stupidity. A great nation cannot remain great if it cannot control its own borders.

Hey, I had to show utility bills AND ID after 9/11 and then again during the Republican Convention in 2004 - DUE TO THE VIOLENT LIEBERALS WHO CAME TO THE CITY TO MAKE TROUBLE - just to gain entry onto the block where I lived.

The expectation is Goldman Sachs will be exonerated by the Levin committee. It is a show, starting from the premise they are examining GS short positions against their mortgage backed securities sales. I will venture a guess that if the likes of Monicow Cowface and the rest of her master race on this blog site were to walk around on the streets of Arizona, not one of them would be stopped...NOT ONE.

I have no problem with dealing with undocumented immigrants, even if the final outcome is deportation. But the truth is, everyone knows what this "law" will allow: it will give the cops a "legal" right, in fact require them, to stop every single dark skinned person walking around Arizona and ask for papers...."Zeigen Sie mir Ihre Unterlagen". And they will get around racism by throwing this farce of a law in everyone's grill.

Immigration is not a security issue, or healthcare issue, or anything like that. It is a 100% political issue. The GOP needs to use fear in order to win votes because they have fu@ked things up for so long, they have nothing left.

Where were these pols years ago when the economy was thriving, and in no small way to the fact that businesses were hiring these same immigrants for pennies?

Now that their base is a little pissed that their money and jobs are gone, they need to blame someone other than themselves...so why not attack the very people who were allowing some businesses to thrive due to crappy salaries.

The Democratic Party want people who are dependant on the Federal government so that they can use them to justify their tax and spend socialist state.
