DJ note: How PC of you Dan. You are a brainwashed dunce, Dan. How about cutting to the chase and demand the enforcement ALL the immigration laws that are already on the books, Dan? Why should we reward the illegals already in NY with a path to becoming legal? The only way to deal with this is to arrest and criminally/civilly prosecute anyone who aids and abets illigal aliens. That would include employers, government officials, and people within religious organizations. We cannot compromise on the issue of protecting our borders. But it may already be too late. Thank you Mr. Bush.

Gosh, DJ. Sorry to disappoint you, but Dan is just an ordinary guy who got up off his @$$ and organized against Spitzer. Joined with a handful of county clerks and some local politicians, the drivers license issue became a hot issue in the Presidential campaign. Spitzer's poll ratings dropped to a negative 77%.

We have several talk show hosts who are paid big bucks to talk. Why don't they demand the enforcement of our immigration laws? Savage, O'Reilly and Dobbs and other "all talk no action" radio hosts have beent talking about it for years, but can't seem to get it done.

Sep. 27--ALBANY -- Gov. Eliot Spitzer is facing a revolt among upstate county clerks who say they won't go along with his new rule that lets people get driver's licenses even if they might be illegal aliens.

"Don't send it to me. I'm not going to give a driver's license to someone who cannot prove their legal status in the United States," said Rensselaer County Clerk Frank Merola, the most vociferous opponent so far, who said he planned to turn away those who can't prove they are citizens or who have a visa to be in the U.S.

Okay, Monica, TMG probably won't mention the story about the US Navy's "female Captain Queeg" that Monicamemo Comments broke on March 01 for the blogosphere (after http://militarycorruption.com, of course, did the heavy lifting earlier), and later in the week it made the NY Post, Time Mag, and today even Rush Limbaugh mentioned it, and Major Macdonald's interview was broadcast on CBS radio. A nutty Favorite of The Sisterhood, causing a near disaster on the high seas with nuclear-armed warships is not of sufficient significance in these times of economic stress. And not even the Pentagon is free to recognize Fort Hood slaughter by a Major Hassan as an act of Islamic terror. Got it.

Okay. So how about a comparison between Communist China and the Obamunist US today? Do we not see one with economic freedom sans political liberty, while the other is in the process of losing both economic and political liberty? Is a major difference that Americans today, unlike the Chinese, feel entitled to a rice bowl, and that's what they'll get? Will Americans learn to swim in their ocean of debt? If too many are drowning, will the Chinese, with surplus trillions, sell them inflatable vests? Or will China be too busy saving itself as its great bubble pops?

DOUG CASEY//////Free-market environment—The long boom in China started in 1978 when Deng determined that the next iteration of the Chinese path to socialism would have certain market-based characteristics – Power to the People Puttin’ On the Ritz. He shrewdly rationalized throwing Mao’s foolish socioeconomic experiments on the scrap heap of history by saying “It doesn’t matter if a cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice.” He further set the tone by saying something that almost every Chinese wanted to hear but was afraid to say: “To become rich is glorious.” Since then the economy in China has gotten ever freer and has turboed through what is probably the greatest boom in history.

Remember the movie “Blazing Saddles?” There is a scene in the movie where the new sheriff in town, played by Cleavon Little, holds a gun to his own head and threatens the townspeople that the sheriff (Cleavon Little) is going to get it unless they throw down their guns. The scene is hilarious.

This is exactly what the citizens of Greece are doing right now. They are in effect saying:

Just wait until some brave political leader here in the US actually begins to call for sharp cuts in government spending to attempt to get the fiscal US house in order.

Greek police clashed with demonstrators protesting sweeping budget cuts Friday as the government sought support from Germany to help it avoid default, only to be told not to expect a single cent.

Police fired tear gas after a union leader was struck and hurt by youths, an AFP reporter on the scene said, during protests against sweeping new budget and spending cuts announced Wednesday.

But don't these worthies, even with their rabble rousing, perform a social function? Historians tell us that the Greeks, for example, acknowledged a certain value in these types.

One definition of 'parasite': (in ancient Greece) "a person who received free meals in return for amusing or impudent conversation, flattering remarks, etc."

In other words, the democratic parasite knows what to support, who to vote for and who to denounce. Some are so impudent that even Bill O'Reilly likes to have them on.

Poll: On Health Reform, Americans Trust Obama More Than Both Parties In Congress

Mar 05, 2010

A new Gallup poll asked Americans whom they trusted to reform the nation's health care system.

Politics Daily: "Americans have more confidence in President Obama to recommend the right thing for health care reform than they do in Democratic or Republican leaders on Capitol Hill, but the percentages for all of the players on the issue is lower than it was last June, according to a Gallup poll conducted March 2-3. ... 'As the debate over healthcare reform legislation enters what could be its final month, the American public's confidence in several of the political players who have been at the heart of the fray has eroded,' Gallup said" (Drake, 3/5).

The Hill: "Just under half of respondents, 49 percent, said they're confident in Obama's healthcare recommendations, compared to 37 percent for Democratic leaders in Congress and 32 percent for Republicans leaders in Congress" (Zimmermann, 3/5).

USA Today published the list, in order of preference. Doctors ranked highest at 77 percent, followed by hospitals (64 percent), university professors or researchers who study health care policy (61 percent), the president, Democrats and Republicans, then pharmaceutical companies (30 percent). Health insurance companies were last with 26 percent (Kiely, 3/5).

The poll had a margin of error of +/- 4 percentage points.

I listened to that speech again and I don't think that is what he meant. Currently, there are certain situations where illegal aliens can be given a path to citizenship, but they have to earn the right. This differs from giving 11 million + people blanket amnesty.

The reason that Dan and the other politicians did not address immigration is because they were protesting a specific bill, Spitzer's plan to give illegals driver's licenses. They were trying to stop one law and leaving the immigration issue to the politicians who have done nothing to stop it.

Frank Merola and the other County Clerks who opposed Spitzer were impressive because they could have lost their jobs from taking a stand.

UPDATE....UPDATE on the story broke by http://www.militarycorruption.com/ re the US Navy's nutball "female Captain Bligh" (a story appearing on Monicamemo Comments March 01 and subsequently in the NY Post and TIME mag, (including Major Macdonald interview on CBS radio)

SAT MARCH 06 The MCC story ran in the Washington Post. (Although someone mangled the URL for MCC, meaning that WAPO's 600 news affiliates would get a URL directing them to one of the go-along-don't-make=waves military sites.)

SUNDAY MARCH 07 The London Times runs the MCC story. (Nada from the Sulzberger Times of New York, which is still in blackout mode.)

MCC's hits have been going through the Command Post roof. According to my source, hits this week, since the story appeared last week, will reach 2 million.)

Apparently the story has not yet hit the radar screen of Bill O'Reilly or our Warrior Princess (although Rush Limbaugh mentioned it last week, without knowing that MCC is the source, since he probably saw it in TIME.com which weaseled out of naming the source, MCC). However, MCC is receiving email from readers all over the world (even Japan) expressing concern that today's US Navy could have such an obviously unstable and troubled woman as Captain Holly Graf commanding a nuclear-armed warship.

Unlike the politically correct sheep, including Republicans, responsible women are also expressing outrage that this can happen in today's US military. Women of character and talent (not likely to be found in the not well-known 'Sisterhood') aren't fond of how the Double Standard PC Police manage gender and US society today.

BIG HOURNALISM RE THE MEDIACKS////It's staggering to me how a media, supposedly "liberal", can constantly attack a movement made up of everyday people voicing concerns for their country and exercising their freedom of speech, association and right to protest. Isn't that what a great country should be all about? It has been a non-violent and positive protest. If the MSM could they'd probably spray The Tea Party protesters with fire hoses and throw them in concentration camps.

Smaller, more responsible government, lower taxes, adherence to the Constitution... how can anyone be against this? It's absolutely stunning to me the hate coming from our media. Must Young Be Dumb?

NEO NEOCON/////# ConceptJunkie Says:
March 6th, 2010 at 8:18 pm

I do blame young people. Idealism doesn’t mean stupidity, and anyone with a modicum of critical thinking skills saw Obama for exactly what he is from Day One. I don’t think I’m smarter than all those commentators, but I didn’t buy his empty promises and hollow rhetoric for one moment.
Of course, it didn’t help that the Democrats candidates consisted of two radicals with no executive experience and minimal experience in elected office and quite possibly the sleaziest person ever to run for President. Of course, it helped even less that the Republican side was just as weak (I sat out the Republican primary because I couldn’t bring myself to vote for any of them). 2008 brought us probably the worst slate of candidates for President in the history of the Republic, and the worst one won.

The young people of this country were naive and foolish, far more than should be expected of _adults_ supposedly educated in the greatest country in the world. Their willingness to ignore the obvious and cling to pipe dreams with no basis in reality has cost this country dearly. They have no one to blame but themselves, because if it was obvious to me that Obama was a pathetic and petty incompetent, it should have been obvious to enough people to send him back to his Marxist clique in Chi-town.

Next time, they should consider whether the candidate selling “hope and change” has ever accomplished anything constructive in his entire life, which Obama most certainly has not. Being President, as they used to say when Jesse Jackson was running, is not an entry-level job. Well, we’ve got an entry-level president who’s never held an honest job nor created anything of value in his entire coddled, radicalism-saturated life, and the young people who bought his rhetorical garbage are definitely to blame, as is the hopelessl

The Poet-President — Or Not
Posted by Christopher Manion on March 8, 2010 07:44 AM

Did you ever wonder what those English majors were doing in “Literary Analysis” class? My friend Jim, a prolific author who excels in that art, sends along this fascinating piece that will raise your estimation of those who pursue that esoteric line of work. Jack Cashill follows an elusive but captivating path on the trail of that most famous of famous undergraduate poets, Barry O’Bama. It begins thus:

“A little more than a month ago, I began my first descent into the rabbit hole of Barack Obama’s origins, a place known to swallow reputations whole. What prompted my inquiry was an e-mail from a correspondent asking my opinion of “Pop,” a poem published under the 19-year-old Obama’s name in the spring 1981 edition of Occidental College’s literary magazine, Feast. Having no prior bias going in, here is what I have concluded coming out.”

After you finish this spellbinder, be sure to read Cashill’s other analytic feats. They are living proof that the j-schools that produced today’s “Mass Media” practitioners have failed miserably, Q.E.D.
