Mort Zukerman is a good person, and one who should be encouraged to run. Mort is not a parvenue. He's already rich!

If he wants to keep real estate prices up here is the good old US of A, he should be thinking jobs, jobs, jobs.

So what's the deal with Tom Tancredo? He seems to be busy at the tea parties..

gringoman

Here's a list of people I'd like to see discussed as for their quaifications for 2012:

Sarah Palin
John Bolton
Tom Tancredo
Rudy Giuliani.

Some might not be so plausible but I figured let's start the discussion so we can hone it down ahead of time.

.

A Tentative Scenario:

A few members of President Palin's Cabinet:

John Bolton SECRETARY OF STATE

Rudy Giuliani ATTORNEY GENERAL (or Director of Homeland Security)

Tom Tancredo SECRETARY OF IMMIGRATION (a new office. Would also expedite the exodus of progressives fleeing to Canada for socialized medicine/abortions/same-sex marriage, grants for Global Warming, Crap-in-Trade and man/boy "civil rights.")

You've still got time, DJ, for 2012. I'm still open to other possibilities, and I'd like to hear some, from Ummah too, who, like yourself, is concerned that Sarah might be soft on Illegalismo and perhaps is not sparring with la prensa latina as bitingly as he would (or maybe as I could teach her in my way). She even intends to re-pay her enormous debt to Johnny Boy, and politics be damned.

Not politics. THE COUNTRY! There is far more at stake there than "politics".

For Sarah Palin it would be more about politics. The prospect of John McCain back in the Senate, at age 74,beginning his last hurrah, no more elections left to run for, a Tea Party Nation stampeding all around him---that wouldn't strike her as much of a national security concern. She might even decide to get him out of the domestic scene entirely, as SecDefense---an "exile" he couldn't resist.

GREG HUNTER//////So, the things that got us in this financial crisis are no different than the things that caused other financial meltdowns throughout history. I think what is different this time is the size of the debt buildup. It is on a scale never before seen in human history. Debt is overwhelming individuals, corporations and countries. This global debt will likely produce the biggest financial meltdown in history, deserving of the Volker expression “mother of all financial crises.”

Obama’s National Defence Review ignores Iran and Islam in favour of… climate change!

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamescorum/100025806/obama’s-national-defence-review-ignores-iran-and-islam-in-favour-of-climate-change/

Under American law, every four years the US Defence Department must present to Congress a comprehensive review of the security threats and challenges to America. The security picture presented in the review provides the justification for planning and creating the appropriate military forces and capabilities. The Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) is supposed to be a non-partisan and objective strategic document - free of partisan politics. After all, the duty to protect the nation and its citizens is supposed to take a higher priority than subsidies to labour unions, or hand-outs to party loyalists.
Last week the Defence Department released the 2010 QDR. It is a remarkable document. As guidance for American strategy it might even take a historical place alongside some of the great assessments of the Bush administration--such as the 2003 Congressional testimony by Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz that a war in Iraq could be waged at little cost.

The 128-page Defence Review says some important things. It outlines the problems with maintaining the US military's technological lead over potential adversaries. It discusses the need to counter terrorism. The threat to Western cyber systems is noted. The proliferation of Russian high-tech anti-aircraft missiles around the world is noted as a problem.

However, it's not what is in the document that surprises the reader - it's what was left out. There presence of two elephants in their living room apparently escaped the notice of American's top civilian and military leaders. Islamic radicalism does not receive any mention whatsoever in the American Defence Review and the threat posed by a nuclear Iran is mentioned in only one general sentence at the end of a document (page 101). To put this lack of discussion in proportion, contrast this non-discussion with other security issues mentioned in the document. For example, the security effects of climate change are highlighted and discussed in depth in eight pages of the document.

I would not have thought it possible that one could publish a book-length assessment of America's security challenges and responses and NOT address the problem of Islamic radicalism or the Iranian bomb - but that's just what Defence Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mullen have done. From this one can draw one of two possible conclusions: these men are really, really stupid (not very likely), or they have deliberately minimised the current security threats to please the Obama administration and support the President's desire to cut defence spending. The smart money is on the latter explanation....

Ummah,

What's your argument against McCain as Palin's SecDefense?
The military, arguably, is the one and only area that McCain really understands. True, he can sound a bit "Manchurian" on the subject of "torture," but has he (1) called for reading alien holy war criminals their Miranda rights (2) called for trying them in civil court like Obama and his crazies have (3) relented on the call for victory over Islamic terror (4) refused to call it Islamic terror (5)backed down on the warrior spirit he showed in calling for a "surge" in Iraq even when most Republicans thought it was a losing stance to take politically....etc etc?

Your thoughts.

ps I'd like to think he's also against closing Gitmo, but I'm not sure about that.

THE REPUBICS?

Does ABC's conservative pit bull, Mark Levin, have grounds for unkindly calling Republicans "the Repubics"?

Well, a caller to Larry Kudlow just told this about Nassau County. In recent county elections, the Republicans won big, on a wave of disgust with the Democrats. And what was one of their first moves after big Election victory? THEY RAISED THEIR SALARIES BY 40%.

KUDLOW: "Oh, no! This is disgusting."

Maybe Monica will comment? She knows more about Republicans than I do.

There are some very ugly sentiments brewing in the countries expected to pick up the tab for this. Tea Party ugly.. :-) The Dutch Parliament voted just yesterday that no Dutch money shall go to bail out Greece.

Too bad that neither Britain nor Germany have the couillones to follow suit.

If Merkel folds and does a bailout the German Left will win elections for decades to come.

So either way you look at it Europe is done.

The Left is islam's best friend. If they let Greece crash they can just make do with a smaller, but stronger EU and the threat of Turkey will become a bit less looming.

But then for some weird reason both Repubics and Demons want to force Turkey down Europe's throat.

Which means they have to make sure Greece stays in. Come hell or high water. No matter where you look the bigger better countries are in direct IGNORANCE of the wishes of their electorates.

PS. Did you know that Greeks can retire at 95% pay with full benefits as low as age 55 for males?

People in Northern Europe are LIVID being forced to pay for that.

Think NAFTA on STEROIDS.

Ummah,

I totally agree with your three comments @ 12:44, 12:47, and 2:21, every bit of them! I'd just add, Rush Limbaugh didn't do us any favors either. I can remember Rush reassuring us in regards to G.W. by repeatedly proclaiming:

"G.W. isn't like his father, he's a reeeeeal conservative, nothing like his father, I can personally attest to that fact." and "In private, G.W. reveals himself to be the real thing." and "He gets it." and "I can assure you, folks, you can trust G.W. to do the right thing"

Another thing that infuriates me about Rush is when he repeats the following:

"We are winning, folks! We got the libs on the run! The libs are in panic mode!"

Does he think we're stupid? Nothing could be further from the truth! The libs, both then and now,are firmly in control. They continue to beat our brains in on a daily basis. Sure, we win a battle here or there but the Left is steadily and methodically winning the war.

Even when the GOP controlled both Houses of Congress and sat in the White House, we conservatives, still lost ground; arguably at a faster pace than when Clinton was President. Gringoman seems to think we can wage war within the Republican Party and reform things that way. He may be right, but if Gov. Perry, K.B.H, Carley FioRINO, and McLame etc. are representative of that type of “change” then it's time to abandon ship and form a new party.

DOHA, Feb 13 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Saturday he was naming a special envoy to a top Islamic body to further Washington's cooperation with the Muslim world.

Obama told a U.S.-Islamic World Forum in the Qatari capital Doha in a recorded video message that he was naming White House official Rashad Hussain as special envoy to the 56-member Organisation of the Islamic Conference.

Nobody's been talking conservative more than Limbaugh.

Nobody's been race-baited more than Limbaugh.

Nobody has issued more RINO Alerts against Republicans than Limbaugh.

McCain? The tension got white hot between him and Limbaugh during Election 2008 (when a Republican was in power, by the way) It was practically a blood feud.

Liberals don't target what they don't fear. Limbaugh and Palin are still targets of highest priority.

Savage hardly counts, since they can dismiss him as the "crazy Uncle" with motley following, whose name is not even mentioned by most mediacks despite his entertainment value.

Ummahgummah

.

Gringoman, Rush was a Bush-bot of the highest order. Other than that he's been good. He was better when Clinton was president than he was during the Bush years. I just don't want to see the next near-RINO in 2012 and Rush rubber stamping everything he - or she - does.

That Party is OVER.

I think Savage is right. It's no longer the automatic Republican good, Democrat bad paradigm.
We could say the democrats are bad 99% of the time and the Republicans are bad 95% of the time.

THAT just isn't good enough for me.

Sarah Palin brought the whole; America needs alot more

Conservatism issue out into the open, and has helped to bring about a much needed popular interest in Conservatism.

But she's far from proving herself to be worthy or qualified of being anything higher than a US; Senator or State Governor. Which is quite high by the way.

She's being told what to say and do 50-75% by a handful of RINO-CINO-neo-con type political advisers that she is paying $50,000 a month for and 25-50% by Todd Palin.

Then she ends up putting about 25% of her own views into her press releases and speeches which are mostly being written for her.

I like her but she has to drop the RINO-CINO-neo-con political advisors and just listen to Todd, herself, and the Tea Party and other grassroots Conservatives only,

or she's only usefull as high up as a US; Senator or State Governor, because in a position like that she would have to serve the peoples best interest more directly.

She wouldn't get elected or get away with being a RINO-CINO/neo-con.

Either she gets back to Conservative grass roots basics only or she'll just be another RINO-CINO who is a mixed bag of policies, some good and some bad.

But just one bad policy can lead to the destruction of this country, especially after the slow but steady destruction caused by the last 6 presidents:

Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama

The point is that Sarah really is just past the starting out stage. Anyone that says Sarah Palin in 2012 is a shallow, political lightweight!

She has to really prove herself before even being considered for such a high office.

Especially after the terrible and brutal lesson that we have unfortunately learned
from/about Bushes malpractical big oil and other type corporation controlled anti-American, 2 term presidency,

and Obamas short US Senate office holding resume type election.

I encourage and would support Sarah Palin as a US Senator in any state against a moderate Republican in the primary.

One more thing, third parties are not good in primary races if they will take votes away from grass roots Tea Party type Conservative Republicans in the US Senate and House primaries, thereby giving the edge to RINO-CINO/neo-con type Republicans in those races.

In races where the clear winner will be a RINO-CINO/t's best to just harass them with your real Conservative message against their fake phony fraud RINO-CINO platform, and then drop out towards the
end of the race and tell your supporters to vote for them anyway, because we need the seat not to be won by a leftist, liberal, or Democrat.

So that the Tea Party type Conservative Republicans who are in the Republican Party, are in the Party with the majorities in the US Senate and House. Thereby
giving them the chance to influence the platform and policies of the Republican Party, and at the same time be in the majority party.

So third parties who realisticly cannot win in the greater majority of states US Senate and House primary races, should always support and back up grass roots Tea
Party type Conservative Republicans, either from the beginning or towards the end of the primaries,

because the TPtCR are not RINO-CINO's or neo-cons and they want to serve the peoples best interests 1st, and the corporations best interests 2cnd, and they really do have a chance of beating the leftist, liberals, and Democrats in the primary races.

It's better to just get your message out and hope to influence the debates,
Republicans and all voters in general enough,

who will then start to call out their more mainstream Republican candidates and office holders on the issues and their way too RINO-CINO platform, who might then
have no choice but to stop their RINO-CINO ways.

And also at the same time help to get the grass roots Tea Party type Conservative Republican candidates to win more often in the primary races.

Just keep planning and working on the best strategies to get Tea Party type Conservative Republican candidates to win, in as many of the US Senate and House Republican primaries as we all can.

gringoman

Ummah.

Maybe we've been hearing different Limbaughs. Maybe he used to be a Bush bot. I wouldn't know, as I wasn't listening to him back in 2004 when I voted a Republican President for the first time ever. Like I need Michael Savage to tell me it's not about "Republicans good, Dems bad" blah-blah? Heh. Does anybody around here need Savage for that, with the possible exception of Monica at her giddiest?

ps Obviously right-wing talkers can do a lot more flaming when the opposition is in office, just like the lib stone throwers had more fun with "BushHitler" available for them.

And why are conservatives so down in the mouth on McCain for his horrendous campaign in 2008? Could a President McCain have awakened the sleeping Tea Party Giant as effectively as Comrade Obama has? Really? Could he have brought The Silent Majority to the brink of revolt, like the Harvard idiotlogue has?

Why aren't they giving old Johnny Boy his due, even if he's still not sure for what?

If you think Sarah Palin is not going to listen to everybody, including the RINO-est of the RINOS, you may think she needs to be something unique in the human species. She will listen to everything that's out there. That's her job as a sentient human being, especially on the national scene. She really can't act like a child and plug her ears when certain of the sinful speak.

Now what she does about what she hears and what they tell her is something else. That's where judgement and character come in.

In the last resort, Americans will have to decide whether their Sarah has been a "good girl" and kept away from temptation. If they decide no, she hasn't, then maybe they'll abandon their "Annie Get Your Gun" and go the Ross Perot route of 1992, teaching the Dems and the Pubs a lesson. And we know how that worked out, don't we?

Gringoman,

I'm afraid the U.S.A. is nearly dead. It caught a fatal disease sometime during the Johnson Administration -- probably before that.

We must keep in mind, our country is not the same country as it was even as recent as when Reagan took office (1981). Back then the population was around 226 million people with a 12% non-white minority. The national debt was just below 1 trillion. Fast forward to today: population of 310 million, 37% of which are non-white minorities and we boast a 12.3 trillion dollar in debt! China is fully awakened. The Bear, Russia, is rising back up.

That said, what we DON'T need is a Republican takeover that resembles the one when G.W. was President. What we need is a nothing less than a radical shift to the right -- and fast! Otherwise we can kiss both our high standard of living and personal liberties goodbye.

Hello third-world U.S.A!!!

BTW, while Rush Limbaugh was cheer-leading for Dubya, Dubya was KNOWINGLY allowing an estimated 12 million illegal aliens invade OUR country! All while the aisle crawling McCain, along with his pal Ted Kennedy, tried their best to make the invaders U.S citizens ... all with Dubyah's approval, of course!

Ummahgummah

Well Palin listened a tad too much with Univison when she should have rebuked the interviewer.

These divisive racelibs have a way of acting entitled that I find absolutely rankling.

Assuming Plain known decent Spanish she might have replied en Español: "Claro que hablo el Easpañol pero no penso qu eso es necasario para obtenir la Presedentura en los Eastados Unidos Americanos. No hace falta de otros paises donde se habla Español."

Or something like that.

They have these racialist types on constantly on "n"pr which is where they seem to breed like salmonella in raw chicken flesh.

A True Conservative President should also take a look at "n"pr and its funding sources and how it is run. A Conservative Congress should definitely have hearings on "n"pr instead trifling around with MLB just because they love the headlines.

Doing nothing about the border AFTER 9/11 while continuing and even expanding visa and student programs with islamic countries is treasonous.

Here the Bama can rightfully say that his predecessors left him with a completely undefended border.

Of course he won't say that because then he invites the question: well what are you going to do about it, Mr. President?

DJ, I know you are concerned about Russia, but I have had many personal experiences with Russians and they are capable of logical unemotional reasoning and thus could be worthy future allies in a world which is increasingly polarizing along a North-South line.

Australia, Korea and Japan being counted among the North here.

Russia has huge worries re. future Chinese hegemony toward Siberia and its vast resources.

Plus: you give the Russians a terrorist to extract information from you are guaranteed to have it in less than an hour.

They're tough as nails and they don't f*ck around.

Kind of how we used to be.

THIS is what the Bama is bringing to OUR Capitol!

"
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH....

The objective of this gathering is to invite the Muslim Communities and friends of Islam to express and illustrate the wonderful diversity of Islam. We intend to manifest Islam's majestic spiritual principals as revealed by Allah to our beloved prophet

Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) of Arabia. Likewise; we intend to inspire a new generation of Muslim to work for the greater good of all people. We shall serve all

people, regardless of race, religion or national origin.

"

http://www.islamoncapitolhill.com/

- Task One

The Athan will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill.

- Task Two

Thousands of Muslims from all races, creeds, colors and ethnicities will gather for the sole purpose of prayer.

- Task Three

Bonds of friendship will be formed between those in attendance, both Muslims and Non-Muslims.

- Task Four

Muslim youth will experience tours of the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court.

- Task Five

The peace, beauty and solidarity of Islam will shine through America's capitol.

ARE WE COMPLETELY INSANE TO ALLOW THIS??!!!

It's funny that you say that, because I get the feeling that Sarah Palin is just going forward while engaging alot of different politically positioned factions along the way.

Giving alot of exposure to all of them.

So even if her political platform ends up as RINO/neo-con with some Tea Party stuff mixed in,

She will have been the one who promoted the real Tea Partiers as being good for the Republican party, just enough to then bring in the real Conservatives who feel that the Tea Partiers are not real enough for them,

who then as a bigger group of Tea Partiers/real Conservatives start to get the support of the Republican masses, and the rest as they say is history.

It's not her accuracy on the issues that's helping us, it's her justified criticism of and drive to go forward fighting the Democrats.

Thereby giving the real Conservative cause a Republican masses vacuum of hope that needs to be filled, because the Republican leadership has in the past been mostly fake, phony, fraud RINO-CINO/neo-con political types.

That vacuum can and should be filled by the Tea Party/real Conservative type Republican candidates and their political platform.

Anyone else happy to see that Rand Paul is running for US Senate in Kentucky? We could have used Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, and Tom Tancredo starting back in 1993-2010, anyone agree?

Yes, MONICA, we americanos are just dying for another Bloomberg RINO, a Zuck who will kiss and make up with his beloved Bambam!

I know Zuckerman is a Democrat but, from watching him, on "The McLaughlin Group", he seems reasonable. Unlike the liberal Democrats, I seem to remember him criticizing the original TARP and he seems to have some problems with the stimulus packages.

It is nice that you guys are spending your weekend fantasizing over the ideal Republican candidate to nominate in 2012, but, as far as I'm concerned, the Republicans have deserted New York.

I REMEMBER Pete King wishing that Paterson nominated Gillibrand for Hillary's seat so that he could beat her in the election, but I'm still waiting for him to announce his candidacy. Meanwhile, Harold Ford, Jr. moves to NY from TN to challenge Gillibrand and the Republicans are satisified to sit on the sidelines.

M/M, we're not "fantasizing". We're discussing. What's wrong with dissecting the potential candidates known at this time?

Call it hot stove. Pitchers and catchers I guess in 2011 as the candidates actually start gearing up and the field begins to crystalize.

Whoever runs on the R ticket will have a more than excellent chance to go all the way which is why I expect to see a large field of suitors.

Which is also why it is important that we know whom we can support and whom we ant the most and whom we have to discourage form damaging a true winner's chances. Like Hucksterbee, who ambushed Romney, flawed as he might be, who might have at had a fighting chance to beat the Bama. But at least he was in private business for part of his life and that's better than most of these idiots.

Like I said: we're engaged in Hot Stove Politics.
