Brilliant analysis Dr. Crowley! We can only hope the Republicans will take your advice. But I'm sure they'll manage to find a way to make themselves look like obstructionists and by contrast make The Bama look like an earnest young president just trying to get things done. They always do, it seems.

Ummahgummah

.

Yup. He's only "transparent" when it suits his needs. Like adding 300 plus pages to the already 2000-page Health Care Bill in a cloak-and-dagger move, like not allowing time to read the bill..

Of course they are trying to snare the Republicans in.

DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT!!!!!

Repubs need to STEP BACK and give the Bama and his crew all the rope they need to hang themselves with.

America doesn't want this turkey of a bill. Republicans need to do what is right by the American People and not what is right by the Bama and crew.

Let's throw out Chicago-style politics!

Global Warming Causes Snowfall?

I say with trepidation, there is necessarily warm, humid air aloft that creates the condition for copious snowfall. But, if it were a climatic change it would happen with some frequency and constancy over time. Additional heating is not necessary, but only a shift in airflow can also being warm air into areas that hitherto had not experienced this.

It is a climate change? Are storms indicative of climatic changes? Nope. If anything, they are a weak indicator of increased variation in energy flow. This can be caused by many things - but IMHO the sun in the major fluctuator, followed by things like volcanic activity, not volvonic activity. Also to a certain extent - things like ocean surfaces changes - plankton and algae.

Happy Birthday Sarah Palin, And Many, Many, More! "Northern Lights" By Monte Dolack.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, honorary member and official "Brigade Mom" of the Arctic Wolves,
Fort Wainwright, just outside Fairbanks, home of the 25th Infantry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team (Stryker) - better known as the "Arctic Wolves". The Wolves, over 4,000 strong, consist of three infantry battalions and a cavalry squadron, as well as several attached specialist units such as artillery, signal, and engineers. Conservatives 4 Palin.

gringoNOTE: Ree, thanks for that post! I suspected I have various connections (even if indirect)with Sarah Palin, Honorary Brigade Mom of the "Arctic Wolves." a 25th Division combat Stryker Team. So this is another one. The 25th Division. The 25th was my introduction to Grunt World. Shortly after arriving in the 'Nam as a freelance from nowhere I lived for two weeks out in the Bo Loi Woods with 2/14th Bravo Company (its 25th Division "Electric Strawberry" Headquarters in Tay Ninh.) We got along very well, even on sweeps and night ambush patrol with our Chieu Hoi scout. Then, finally, some ignorant by-the-book Major found out about "the reporter" with Captain Martinez's Bravo Company. Instead of trying to size me up he just ordered me out. Which leads me right now to,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SARAH!

Ummah,

In a free society, especially a non-Islamic one, you can't hold a man responsible for what his adult daughter says, no matter how stupid the offspring. There's no way that Sarah Palin can take it out on the father. Now if you know of a way to get McCain himself to badmouth Sarah like his dumb daughter does, that would be a totally different ball game. That would allow Sarah to reconsider her debt to McCain.

Gringoman,Ummah Gummah,

I am also a co blogger for Sarah Palin 2012!

Ummah, I don't know if Sarah can save McCain AGAIN:)If anyone can she can. I don't think the Republicans should give up any Senate Seats in 2010 if they can help it, we need to get rid of Harry Reid.

I have no intention of voting for Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R) Senator from Texas. I am guessing that Perry will probably win the Republican primary, but I am a Debra Medina (R) Supporter. So a Palin's endorsements only reachs so far. Sarah Palin is a loyal Republican, and she is doing yeoman's work for her party. I voted for her before, and I would vote for her again.

Gringoman, My husband is retired Army after 27 years of service. His brother is still in the Army active service. His father, and his uncles all military people, my father in law served in Vietnam. My husband has 4 brothers, only one didn't serve in the US Military.

The Liberal Media is really easy to manipulate, and so are many left leaning blogs. Their responses are predictable. It hasn't gone unnoticed. That they can be duped easily into producing petty tirades.

If outlets like MSNBC were actually getting ratings for their coverage, it might make some sense their constantly attacking Sarah Palin, and the Tea Party Movement. But their ratings are in the basement. Which leads me to the conclusion that Rahm Emanuel was right...he said Liberals are f'ing R tards. Rahm is the one in the closest proximity to them...seems to me we need to take his word for it LOL! These folks can't learn, they can't change their tactics, they can't adapt, this is a "Darwin Scenario" the Progressives are experiencing GRIN.

REE,

Glenn Beck took down Debra Medina and he spelled out exactly why: She is waffling as a 9.11 Truther. i.e. she's not saying the Government did or did not take down the Twin Towers, but SHE BELIEVES IT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. In other words, she's telling us that at this late date she has not bothered to resolve for herself, despite all the data and claims out there, whether or not Dick Cheney and George Bush are evil fiends and part of a conspiracy that murdered 3000 people in lower Manhattan.

I found that Glenn Beck made his case pretty cogently. He couldn't even think of supporting a candidate who's not sure if her own Government committed 9.11. He gave the woman calling in to support Medina short shrift. Hard to blame him. The woman sounded clueless on the 9.11 Truther points he made, and how Medina has stepped right into it.

Well, the daughter is definitely saying what she's heard around the house.. And by the way, didn't the McCain staff keep dissing her in public after they lost the election?

I really think that if we can get rid of McCain it will serve as a clarion call to True Conservatism and not the watered-down aisle-crawling Ovarism that's presently being practiced by the GOP establishment.

The GOP establishment will have to be faced with what - if any -role they wish to pay in the future. They can either be on the bus, but please stay in the back, or they can end up under it entirely.

The time has come to sweep out the MCains, the Bakers, the Norquists and their ilk.

REE, Glenn Beck had a lengthy interview with Medina this morning. I agree. The way she danced instead of saying she is a truther, makes it even worse.

I read Medina's defense of her interview with Beck. My conclusion after Beck and after Medina.....

Medina is probably a good person and entrepreneur with some good ideas on property rights etc, but she did something so stupid by waffling on 9.11 Truth, trying to equate it with the reasonable notion of questioning your Government, that her current effort now to backtrack is too late. She failed to do her homework on 9.11 "conspiracy", but opened her mouth on it anyway. She fell right into the bucket. Now there's no way she can escape being seen as dumb and/or a closet Truther.

Her candidacy is effectively over, whether or not she continues to go through the motions.

DJ

What’s wrong with someone questioning the official version of what happened on 9-11? It seems all Debra Medina is saying is the matter needs further investigation, that’s all. But as usual, the insiders are doing their best to paint her as part of a fringe group. Why not have further investigation? What’s the government afraid of? I suspect they don’t want to be embarrassed by the fact that all the departments, agencies, and bureaus whose job it is to protect us would be exposed as the bunch of incompetent boobs they are! That said, as far as I can see, Debra Medina is much preferable to Perry. At the very least she is FOR enforcing existing immigration laws; hence, she is against “amnesty” or “a path to citizenship” (same difference). Whereas Governor Perry is more in accord with McCain on that crucial issue. Sarah Palin herself has indicated she is decidedly for a “path to citizenship” for > 12 million illegal aliens. Sorry, but I’m not seeing the “change” Sarah Palin is leading us towards. If the Tea Party protesters begin to perceive her as an insider, or part of the GOP establishment, then it’s over for her. It’s her choice. If she continues to support RINOs over conservative candidates, then she will define herself as just another bought and paid for politician willing to govern against the will of the people.

Dj, there is a huge difference between being a truther and in talking about the abject failure the politically correct Bill Clinton years have been when it comes to National Security and how this is the direct cause for 9/11.

Only wish that Bush had mentioned these things in a clear and concise manner at least a few times!

The incompetence you mention is planned and intended by our enemies within! And THAT is not a conspiracy theory. It is self-evident for anyone who looks at the situation with an open eye. Why else would this Fort Hood jihadist be free to shoot over 20 people on a military base even though tons of people have come forward, saying that this guy looked like a potential hazard.

For all the truthers out there: why would anyone have the need to make all these elaborate plans to destroy the WTC when a little political correctness will get you the same result?

Ever thought about that, you truthers?!

As far as Medina goes, she sounded creepy but I did hear her talk about property rights and illegal immigration and she is on point there.

Each and every illegal creeping across the border disenfranchises each and every one of us a little bit.

I didn't hear Palin say that she is for a "path to citizenship" before but I will take your word for it until I hear otherwise. And if that is indeed her stance it would explain her associations with McCain. Which also means we would have to move on and find someone more suitable to represent us.

Deporting illegals FIRST is a non-negotiable part of any platform for 2012. All we want is for existing Law to be enforced!!!!!! If even Palin has gotten Political Amnesia then it's time to ask what is in the water they all seem to drink?!

This just happened in Europe too where both Sarkozy and Merkel got elected on a platform of opposition to allowing Turkey into the EU and both of them have turned on their supporters and are now going soft. Sarko is no longer proposing tough law enforcement and Merkel wants full EU membership for Turkey, and all this AFTER the impending bailout for Greece by German taxpayers.

The French may get off on having to pay for Greece but they are paying dearly for the illegals already in their country.

All this does is illustrate that they turn on their promises in all Western countries. Noone has a spine and they all lie!

I am really beginning to think that they are all receiving offers they can't refuse once they are close to attaining office.

I sure hope that Palin is not a smokescreen thrown our way, galvanizing our support behind her because of how LIEberals react to her. Did someone choose her for precisely these qualities, knowing that LIEberal hatred would drive us into her warms?

I am beginning to wonder if we might need a Third Party.

ETCETERA

Defiance at O'Reilly

by
Daniel Cameron

Part I

Fire Support Base O'Reilly, Central Highlands, South Vietnam

[He was the youngest Colonel in Vietnam, in or out of combat.]

....The panorama is vast. Even on a fairly cloudy day you can see the DMZ (De-militarized Zone), the Gulf of Tonkin and that sandy stretch of what the French knew as the notorious Street Without Joy, running along the South China Sea. That dim hill in the sea is Con Co, an island belonging to North Vietnam.....

The Americans abandoned nearby Fire Support Base Ripcord under heavy fire rather than accept continued high casualties, Lt. Colonel Le-Huan, 26, says O'Reilly will not be abandoned.

"I want to tell the enemy. We are ready. Bring two or three battalions right now. If you only bring two or three companies, that mean we only get about 60 body count."

One reason that enemy body count is not easy to get, according to the Australian advisor, Warrant Officer Ray Oliver: "When artillery or air strikes hit them, there's usually nothing left except pieces in the trees."

Young Colonel Le-Huan's background helps expain why, despite a milieu of politics and corruption, he is one of those ARVN senior officers who will fight.

"During '68 Tet the Communists kill my 70-year old father. My father never harm them. They push bayonet through his head. He die after 1 1/2 months. They kill him because me, his son, was ARVN Battalion Commander."

Most military men who live, fight and sometimes die in these hauntingly beautiful, dangerous, ugly outposts, have commented on the conventional press. Lt. Colonel Huan is no exception.

"Newspaper reporter write true about us, but not complete. They say 200 mortars fired at O'Reilly. Sure, true. But not complete. They no tell how our men fight in the field."

I was not going to explain, I would not quote for him the veteran American correspondent who told me about the climate back home:

"All they want to hear about now is, how do we get out of here?"

I'm well aware of that, Ummah. It was basing my opinion of Debra Medina on the link Ree provided. There is nothing in Debra Medina's statement that would indicate she's a conspiracy kook, i.e., a "truther". But then again that's the extent of what I know regarding her beliefs on the 9-11 terrorist attacks. I didn't hear Glenn Beck's evaluation of her.

Obama ‘Agnostic’ on Deficit Cuts, Won’t Prejudge Tax Increases

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-02-11/obama-agnostic-on-deficit-cuts-won-t-prejudge-tax-increases.html

Feb. 11 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama said he is “agnostic” about raising taxes on households making less than $250,000 as part of a broad effort to rein in the budget deficit.

Obama, in a Feb. 9 Oval Office interview, said that a presidential commission on the budget needs to consider all options for reducing the deficit, including tax increases and cuts in spending on entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare.

“The whole point of it is to make sure that all ideas are on the table,” the president said in the interview with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, which will appear on newsstands Friday. “So what I want to do is to be completely agnostic, in terms of solutions.”

How many times did this liar pledge: "If you make less than $250,000 a year your taxes will not go up. Not one dime!"

Gringoman, this is an excerpt of the interview Sarah Palin gave Univison:

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

And the last question would be about politics. You only have two more weeks left...
Yes

What is your strategy? How are you planning to win the latino vote?
I will tell you, I wish that there were more hours in the day so that we can get out there and to more of the communities with such the strong Latino vote that is out there and really tell them that we desire to work for them. We are asking them to hire us and let us work for them.

Thank you so much. It would be impossible to ask you to say a few words in Spanish, right?
Oh my good-well, I don't want to embarrass myself, but … but gracias and I do thank you so much for this opportunity. I appreciate it.

Thank you, muchas gracias, thank you.

--

She didn't seem to want to say yes or no to the question of citizenship but gave no alternative since deportation no la gustava tampoco. She should have asked the reporter why they were advocating the rewarding of illegal behavior and say something like : "I am sure you consider yourselves American journalists". And thus forcing them to say no they don't, which is the technique they were using on her.

And if they are indeed saying they are Americans then why should they be in favor of rewarding the violation of our laws?

As for the question whether she speaks Spanish she could have answered that she wasn't aware that speaking Spanish was a requirement for running for the American Presidency.

Time to Pitbull up, Sarah! We've heard the bark. Time to see the bite.

Sarah Palin - + charismatic, libs hate her, reasonably Conservative // - pals around with RINOs, iffy stance on immigration

John Bolton - + fantastic knowledge of the enemy via the UN, steadfast, tough-minded, rock-ribbed Conservative, articulates his positions with an eloquence that comes only with conviction.

Tom Tancredo - + real knowledge of islam and willing to act on it.

Rudy Giuliani - + real knowledge of islam and willing to act on it. Fair and tough DA then mayor of NYC // - has family issues

Jim DeMint - + fiscally conservative // - possible lack of charisma

We also need VP candidates. Beyond the above listed:

TRENTON — Calling New Jersey on "the edge of bankruptcy," Gov. Chris Christie today declared a fiscal emergency, seizing broad powers to freeze aid to more than 500 school districts and cut from higher education, hospitals and the Public Advocate.

"New Jersey has been steaming toward financial disaster for years," the Republican governor said in a speech to both houses of the Legislature. "The people elected us to end the talk and to act decisively. Today is the day for the complaining to end and for statesmanship to begin."

Lefties Struggle To Crack Racist Right Wing Code (I Am Here To Help)

The All American Blogger catches a couple of earnest, race-soaked professors explaining that when Sarah Palin or (any other righty) calls Obama a "professor" it is a racially-charged attack:

Ogletree, founding and executive director of the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice, says he sees the “professor” label as a thinly veiled attack on Obama’s race. Calling Obama “the professor” walks dangerously close to labeling him “uppity,” a term with racial overtones that has surfaced in the political arena before, Ogletree said.

Bet I'm not the only one who wants to know. (As far as I can tell, our Monica is not tossing her high heel into the ring.)

Hey, Gringoman, i heard some of Gov. Christie's speech.. whattaya know.. the professor (just to get my daily fix of racism since I just can't live without it) spent barely a year in the Senate so a Governor of a major state might just be what the doctor ordered to send that ol' professor back to school.

Maybe he can share a class with this Ogletree character.

They seem to be professors.. er birds.. of a feather..
