HOW PAILIN FOR 2012?

Here is a clue on how to over-run and smash the Republican National Wuss, the Purple Hand and the vicious guttersnipe Letterman-bots of Mondo Lib: White-haired white guy Newt Gingrich, not as a candidate, but as a gracious leading braintruster for the electric Sarah Palin. This will also make clear that Mitt Romney's talents can be used as Treasury Secretary etc. He can also be a welcome part of Palin's braintrust, if he's willing to humble himself. Here is an example of how Newt can serve both Palin and America. (Our Monica is urged to take note, even if she--- unlike the brilliant. confident DANIEL HANNAN, Tory MEP in the UK--- will not acknowledge reading her own weblog.)

G-man- Two questions for ya.

1. Huckabee finished as a strong contender in 2008. He seems to have have a likeable "aw shucks" Will Rogers style and he handled himself very well in the debates. Do you not see him as a strong contender?

2. Why are you so obsessed about having Ms. Crowley acknowledge you on her blog. As far as I can tell, nobody else here seems to be driven by this need for recognition by our blog host. (She most likely does read all the comments and probably appreciates Ummah's wit as much as I do).

The Dhimmicrats will pound home the "white supremacist, war veteran" angle about one killing. They'll harp on this story, digging up similar acts from years past in order to drum up outrage at the threat posed by the "white supremacist war veterans". They'll create a crisis in order to forward their radical leftist New World Order agenda. Yet the same left wing lunatics won't cover the shooting of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces by an ex-con Muslim convert for more than one day...if at all.

Can you say: Double Standard?

THAT's my concern. The total F*ing hypocrisy of the DHS, news media and liberal politicians.

That I would have to spell it out for you doesn't speak well about how closely you're paying attention.

The shooting of the military recruiter was covered by the media, but perhaps not to the extent that you would have desired. I wonder if that is a double standard or, if like many (and I include myself), you are sometimes upset when you perceive that the media does not perseverate over the stories that support your particular political agenda or world view.

Jefferson, although he couldn't witness the coming Liberal Welfare State, nevertheless deplored what he saw in Europe, it's Government a tyrant, its society a whore (as Merrill Peterson pointed out.)

Romney: Not unless he renounces Mormonism AND plastic surgery.

The Southern Indian What's-his-name?: You've GOTTA be kidding. Hrundi V. Bakshi lives...

Schwarzenegger: Most likely to succeed, now that Rush is making cracks about Obama's lack of a birth certificate.

Anyone else? Massive fail.

From his birth certificate to academic records to passports and more, Barack Obama’s past remains sealed. Do we really know who this guy is? No, we don’t, but we’re starting to get an idea.

Just days after denying the state of Georgia the right to verify who’s voting in that state, the Obama Justice Department has issued a new edict: terrorists will now have the benefit of being read Miranda rights. This is not a joke. From Bin Laden on down, terrorists now have the same protections under the law that every American enjoys. It’s not clear how they decided that terrorists were due those kinds of rights, but there are plenty of things about this administration that aren’t that clear.

(Special to Monica)/////Douglas V. Gibbs/////RUSH LIMBAUGH & BAMMY'S BC

Conservatives have been asking Barack Obama, "Where's the Birth Certificate?" Questions regarding President Obama's eligibility to be president has received nothing but scornful responses, nearly a million dollars in fees to lawyers by the Obama team, and the complete sealing of all of the liberal messiah's records.

I remember when a caller on the Michael Medved show asked the host his opinion on the issue, and he was quick to say, "It makes Conservatives look stupid."

The Conservative Media has not supported the drive for discovering Obama's secrets, and whether or not he is in fact a Natural Born Citizen of the United States - or at least, not until now.

Rush Limbaugh referred to the "Birth Certificate Question" a number of times during his radio program to the surprise of folks who've been asking the same question for over a year.

The conversation on the Rush Limbaugh Show was referring to recent comments by Newsweek editor Evan Thomas, who said on MSNBC's "Hardball" that Obama was "sort of God." Rush said in his commentary regarding this issue, when joking what Obama has in common with God (according to World Net Daily), "Neither has a birth certificate."

"How do they differ?" Limbaugh continued. "God does not think he's Obama. And there's another difference. Liberals love Obama."

Limbaugh repeated the punch lines several times throughout his show and noted, "another difference is that Obama gets better press. Another difference is that God only demands to be worshipped once a week."

Rush always refers to Obama's God-complex, but has mentioned the Birth Certificate issue only once before, days before the 2008 election.

The issue regarding Obama's eligibility has not been mentioned much in the media, however, despite the attention the issue gets on the blogs, Internet radio, and World Net Daily (who now has a billboard out asking "Where's the Birth Certificate?")

The Left, of course, shrugs off the issue. The Democrats, at one time, did hold Congressional hearings to determine whether Sen. John McCain was constitutionally eligible to be president as a "natural born citizen," despite the fact that he was born in the American Territory (or at least it was at the time he was born before Jimmy Carter mindlessly gave it away) of the Panama Canal, and was born to two American parents. Yet, surprisingly (word "surprisingly" used sarcastically speaking, of course), no controlling legal authority has ever sought to verify Obama's claim to a Hawaiian birth.

Under Hawaiian law, it is possible (both legally and illegally) for a person to have been born out of state, yet have a birth certificate on file in the Department of Health.

Somehow, you know it’s coming. That OMG moment is just around the corner. You can feel the inescapable reality creeping up on you. Something will leak. Someone will spill the beans. “For nothing is hid that shall not be made manifest, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to light.” Luke 8:17

It isn’t hard to imagine the gnawing anxiety that AKA OBAMA (Also Known As: an acronym used to describe suspicious persons who use more than one name) lives with, day in and day out. Much has been written about AKA OBAMA’s behavior that reminds mental health experts and others of NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder.) Obama may be using campaign funds to stomp out eligibility lawsuits brought by Americans, as his campaign has paid more than $1 million to his top lawyer since the election.

According to Federal Election Commission records, Obama For America paid $688,316.42 to international law firm Perkins Coie between January and March 2009.

The campaign also compensated Perkins Coie for legal services between Oct. 16, 2008 and Dec. 31, 2008 — to the tune of $378,375.52.

The Wages of Hate
by Judith Warner

It is all too familiar.

A lone gunman takes a life in a hate crime. Law enforcement officials describe him as acting alone.

But he’s not alone — not in spirit, at least.

Like Scott Roeder, the man charged in the shooting of the Wichita, Kan., doctor George Tiller nearly two weeks ago, James von Brunn, the white supremacist charged with killing a guard in an attempted shooting rampage at the Holocaust museum in Washington on Wednesday, doesn’t have any current, overt links to extremist groups. Yet his violent hatred — of Jews, blacks, the government — echoes throughout the universe of right-wing extremists, who just a few years ago hailed and revered him as a “White Racialist Treasure.”

And though he’s an outlier — disturbed, deranged, disavowed now by many who share his core views — his actions really can’t be viewed in isolation. As was the case with Tiller’s murder, which followed months of escalating harassment and intimidation at abortion clinics, von Brunn’s attack on the Holocaust museum has to be viewed as an extreme manifestation of a moment when racist, anti-Semitic agitation is rapidly percolating. White supremacist groups are vastly expanding. And right-wing TV rhetoric, thoughtless in its cruelty and ratings-hungry demagoguery, is helping feed the paranoia and rage that for some Americans now bubbles just beneath the surface.

Hate group membership had been expanding steadily over the course of the past decade — fueled largely by anti-immigrant sentiment. But after Barack Obama’s election, it spiked. The day after the election, the computer servers of two major white supremacist groups crashed, because their traffic went through the roof, Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project, which tracks right-wing extremists and hate groups, told me this week.

As the former Klansman and Louisiana state representative David Duke predicted last June, the face of the first black man in the White House was a “visual aid” for white supremacists, spurring a rapid rise in recruitment and radicalization.

“Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda,” the U.S. Department of Homeland Security reported this past April.

I wrote last week about the rising threats to and vandalism at abortion clinics that followed the election of our first pro-choice president in eight years. A similar increase in intimidating activism has been observed over the past seven months among hate groups — and simply hateful individuals. In November, a predominantly black church under construction in Springfield, Mass. was burned to the ground by three men who bragged of doing so in protest of the election. A cross was burned outside the home of a family of Obama supporters in Hardwick, N.J.

As was the case with increasing clinic vandalism and verbally violent protest, it was only a matter of time before this racially motivated destruction and intimidation turned to physical violence. And there’s one additional, highly disturbing parallel between von Brunn’s intended white supremacist shooting rampage and Scott Roeder’s “pro-life” killing of George Tiller: In both cases, at least some of the core beliefs of extremists were echoed, albeit in more socially acceptable language, by right wing news commentators.

Bill O’Reilly had routinely talked in recent years about “Tiller the baby killer.” Other right-wing talk show hosts like Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh have similarly tapped into — in somewhat coded form — some of the key concerns of extremist hate groups: that the economy has been destroyed by government-proffered “bad” loans to illegal immigrants, for example, or that FEMA may or may not — Beck equivocated for an awfully long time — be running “concentration camps” for U.S. citizens, or that the Obama administration is declaring war on decent Americans by labeling them as “extremists.”

(“So you have a report from Janet Napolitano and Barack Obama, Department of Homeland Security, portraying standard, ordinary, everyday conservatives as posing a bigger threat to this country than Al-Qaeda terrorists or genuine enemies of this country like Kim Jong Il,” is what Limbaugh had to say about Homeland Security’s April report.)

The result of this wink-wink anti-immigrant and anti-government rhetoric has been “a kind of mainstreaming of hate propaganda,” Potok said. “The white supremacist propaganda agenda is being expressed by pundits, politicians, and preachers. Criminal violence by members of this movement is a tiny danger to most Americans. The larger danger is the mainstreaming of these very vile and provably false ideas that do lead to violence.”

You can’t accuse Beck or Limbaugh of inciting violence. But they almost certainly do stoke the flames. They may give people who are just about to go over the edge — the sort of “guy that could not take it anymore” as one poster on the white supremacist forum Stormfront.org, described von Brunn — some sort of validation for their rage.

“The pot in America is boiling,” Beck said this week, in the wake of the Holocaust museum killing. “And this is just yet another warning to all Americans of things to come.”

That creepy schadenfreude just about says it all.

Lebanon’s Triumph, Iran’s Travesty
By ELLIOTT ABRAMS

Washington

WITH elections in Lebanon and Iran occurring in the same week, it’s inevitable that they are viewed as twin tests of efforts to spread democracy to the Muslim world. Should we celebrate the outcome in Lebanon and push for elections throughout the Middle East, or sourly note that Hezbollah has exactly as many guns now as it had when it was defeated at the polls on Sunday? Is the Iranian presidential election today a festival of freedom or a cover for theocracy?

What the United States should be promoting is not elections, but free elections, and the voting in Lebanon passed any realistic test. Anyone who wanted to run could run. The participation rate was 53 percent, close to our turnout in last year’s presidential race. By all accounts the votes were counted fairly. There are rumors about large amounts of Saudi money floating in to support the victorious March 14 coalition, but so what? Hezbollah gets at least $200 million a year from Iran. It is striking that the losers are not crying foul; they too agree the election was fundamentally fair.

However, was it fair but meaningless, given Hezbollah’s military might? That is not the judgment of the winners — the pro-Western March 14 group — who believe they have crippled any claim by Hezbollah and its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, to speak for the Lebanese people.

Hezbollah’s inability to win support outside its Shiite base, along with the poor showing of its Christian ally, Gen. Michel Aoun, leaves Sheik Nasrallah diminished and less able to drag Lebanon into another war with Israel. He will play hardball, no doubt, in the negotiations over the next Lebanese government, and he retains the ability to take over downtown Beirut as he did in May 2008. But such displays of power were apparently the exact kind of thing that turned off swing voters — mostly Christians — and Hezbollah now uses them at its political peril.

We should not idealize Lebanon’s election, nor its politics. Most voters support only candidates from their own religious group, and the political talk is not of liberals and conservatives but of Armenians, Maronites, Druze, Shiites and Sunnis. Some districts seem as permanently owned by one family as any “rotten borough” in 19th-century England. Still, the election produced a consequential result: the majority of Lebanese have rejected Hezbollah’s claim that it is not a terrorist group but a “national resistance.”

Unfortunately, Iran’s election today presents the voters with no similar opportunity. There is no chance for voters to register their opposition to the theocratic system or tell the ayatollahs to go back to the mosques. The candidates have been carefully screened to exclude anyone opposed to the ruling clerical establishment; each is part of the Islamic Revolution’s old guard.

Nor is it likely that the votes will be fairly counted; indeed most analysts concluded that the 2005 election was manipulated to produce Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s presidential victory. Vote destruction and ballot stuffing are easy in a hidden process controlled by the Interior Ministry. And if all else fails, the 12-man Guardian Council has the power to throw out the results in districts where there were “problems” — problems like a reformist victory.

Voting in Iran is a contrivance for settling certain policy disputes and personal rivalries within the ruling elite. Elections are not without meaning; if Mr. Ahmadinejad loses, it may result in more sensible economic policies and fewer loud calls for the destruction of Israel. But Iran doesn’t hold elections for supreme leader — Ayatollah Ali Khameini will hold that post for the indefinite future — and the failed presidency of Mohammad Khatami from 1997 to 2005 reminds us that the power of a putative reformist is illusory. The Khatami years saw increased repression inside Iran, growing support for Hezbollah and Palestinian terrorist groups, and the covert construction of the uranium enrichment facility at Natanz.

Mr. Ahmadinejad’s defeat would probably be welcomed abroad as a sign that Iran is moving away from his policies, but Iran’s policies aren’t his — they are dictated by Ayatollah Khamenei and his supporters in the Revolutionary Guard and Basij paramilitary. In fact, a victory by Mr. Ahmadinejad’s main challenger, Mir Hussein Moussavi, is more likely to change Western policy toward Iran than to change Iran’s own conduct. If the delusion that a new president would surely mean new opportunities to negotiate away Iran’s nuclear program strikes Western leaders, solidarity might give way to pre-emptive concessions.

Elections matter, but how much they matter depends entirely on how free, open and fair they are. The Lebanese had a chance to vote against Hezbollah, and took the opportunity. Iranians, unfortunately, are being given no similar chance to decide who they really want to govern them.

Thorn please. I know it's convenient to brand Bama detractors as "racists" and the gleichgeschAltet MM are doing a great job by repeating that ad nauseam!

However, there are many who did not agree with Jimmy Carter's anti-Semitic course and that was hard enough for the media to take.

But when a black guy is anti-Jew are we who protest that really the racists?

IMHO Jesse Jerckson is an evil RACIST.

As Rush went on commercial I am listening in on "n"pr they are discussing a "white racist shooting a black guard" at the Holocaust Museum.

Oh, they are working it! They are even dragging out Anne Frank for this.

Of course no mention of the over 13000 deaths by jihadists since 9/11!!!!

Dirtbags..

Ummah, I agree that Wright and Jackson are both anti-semitic (not to mention egomaniacs) and I don't feel it is all racist to brand them both as such.

However, as long as Obama's chief of staff is Rahm Emmanuel, I find it difficult to judge Obama as either anti-semitic or anti-Israel.

Btw, what did you think of the Elliot Abrams piece posted above, regarding his assessment of Lebanese vs. Iranian elections?

I think Elliot Abrams seems to be realistic in his assessments.

By the way.. Lebanon is a perfect example of what happens when ever more moslems come into a previously majority Christian country!

That's what's gonna first happen to Europe then here if we don't STOP it!

There are so many reasons why "911 was an inside job" is a complete nuttery that I can't waste my time on it.

Just the idea that both planes can hit exactly where explosives have been pre-positioned.. planes going at 500 mph and whoever has the trigger can set off the explosives exactly on impact.

LOL

And what reason would the pilots have to die unless they are jihadist lunatics?!

The conspiracy nuts' therories have WAY more holes in them than the official version.

I think "n"pr and "p"bs are racists too.. and we PAY for them and their "services".
