Pinch Yourself

Sometimes a foreigner sees us more accurately than we see ourselves.

From the British author Melanie Phillips, writing in The Spectator (UK):

"You have to pinch yourself---a Marxist radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshiped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists, and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently, it's considered impolite to say so."

Indeed.

Max Headroom

Tonight on every major TV network except for ABC, the nation will be treated to an Orwellian nightmare. The Bama's big head will be filling every TV screen in America for 30 minutes, and we'll be subjected to his full-on, gasbag Obama Hypnosis. (Or what I call "Obamanosis," pronounced like "halitosis." Pun intended.)

So tonight, he's going to channel Goerge Orwell and try to knock over every person left in America who has not yet succumbed to the Obamanosis. Your TV sets will be filled with soft-focus images of Obama at work and play, with the Mrs. and the kids, listening intently to American families' concerns, and rhapsodizing about this country's greatness.

It will be so saccharine, you'll need a barf-bag by the time it's over.

But it could also be effective, which is why you need to do this:

Before the Dear Leader appears on every TV in your house tonight, buy some garlic. String it together. Make a necklace. And put it on.

You're going to need every weapon you can muster to ward off the Obama Hypnosis. He's going to try to knock you out. To sedate you. To lull you into that weird trance thing he's got going.

Don't let him! Don't let him hypnotize you! Don't let him ruin your World Series! Don't let him ruin your country!

Put on that garlic necklace and watch the Golf Channel instead.

Playin' Hooky

Barack Obama has a new web ad up asking you to "talk to your boss" and "talk to your professors" about taking the day off next Tuesday so you can do "get out the vote" activities, such as stuffing ballot boxes and making sure the deceased get to the polls.

Of course, no surprise here, since the candidate hails from Chicago: the land of wind, Oprah, and well-oiled vote fraud.

Apparently, you need the day off so you can vote early and often. How can you vote repeatedly under all of the names ACORN has bestowed on you if you're at work?

Economy in shaky condition? Your own job at risk? No problem! Just tell your boss that you need the day off because Barack says so. Your boss won't dare contradict the One. Besides, the American economy can survive a day when NOBODY goes to work. No problem! Soon we'll be there anyway, under The Bama's new socialist rules. Pick out your overalls and get ready to move into the collective. At least that's one way to solve the housing crisis.

What's one little day o' hooky when there's a socialist takeover to be done? Take the day off. You'll need the rest, because soon the State will be knocking.

The Deceiver

Barack Obama will raise your taxes. All of them. Income taxes. Capital gains taxes. Dividend taxes. Payroll taxes. Death taxes. Cap and trade taxes. Natural resource taxes. Global Poverty Taxes. And more.

Why does Obama need SO much more of your money? To pay for his $1 trillion in NEW spending, of course.

But there's something else.

He needs you to pay for reparations to the black community for slavery.

He wants the Supreme Court to "redistribute the wealth" in order to force "economic justice." His remark to Joe the Plumber that he wants to "spread the wealth around" wasn't a fluke.

He said this point-blank in a 2001 interview with a public radio station in Chicago, WBEZ. He says that one of the great "tragedies" of the civil rights movement was to fail to secure reparations at the time, and complains that the Warren Supreme Court "wasn't that radical." He suggests the Court should have been more "radical" and forced reparations. "We still suffer from it," he said. Meaning the "social injustice" of the failure to pay out reparations.

He goes on to say that "redistributive change" is his goal and should be the goal of the courts. That's the purpose of "community organizing," he says: to get the black communities "organized" to force it.

And he says that the Constitution "reflected a fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day."

Meaning: he aims to change it. Through the Supreme Court. Through legislation. Through a Democratic Congress. Through what he calls "administrative" work.

THIS is what Obama means by "change." It's not some wispy, cotton candy idea of "change" from George W. Bush or positive "change" for the country by electing a fresh face.

Obama means RADICAL CHANGE of wealth redistribution----SOCIALISM---in order to FORCE REPARATIONS.

Of course, if Obama stays true to form, he will try to explain this away by lying about it, twisting his own words, and saying "what I meant was..."

ENOUGH! WE KNOW WHAT HE MEANS. IT IS CLEAR.

The Deceiver has deceived LONG ENOUGH.

Watch What You Say

In the early months after the September 11 attacks, Democrats began to complain that the Bush administration was muzzling them. They whined about not being able to criticize the administration's policies or risk being called "unpatriotic" or "undermining the war effort." Of course, the Bush administration did no such thing. There was legitimate concern that newspapers such as The New York Times were publishing national security secrets on the front page, thereby endangering our men and women on the battlefield and our broader national security. But dissent was never discouraged or punished.

Unlike what the Obama Team is doing today.

Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden blew a gasket when faced with tough questions from a local news anchor in Florida this weekend. Barbara West, of WFTV-Channel 9 in Orlando, asked Biden to comment on Obama's very revealing statement to Joe the Plumber that he'd like to "spread the wealth around." She quoted Karl Marx and asked if Obama's remark were, in fact, Marxist.

"Are you joking?" he asked. "No," she retorted.

This reaction from a guy who just said paying more taxes is "patriotic" and that we all need to pay more to do "our part."

Later, West asked Biden if his recent comment about the "world" testing Obama within the first six months of his presidency meant that America would no longer be a superpower capable of deterring such a test.

Biden's reply? "I don't know who's writing your questions."

Biden was so rattled by her questions that the Obama campaign canceled a scheduled interview between the station and Biden's wife Jill. "This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely at best, for the duration of the remaining days until the election," the campaign fumed. Ask a question, get frozen out.

Let's get this straight: Biden couldn't face down some tough questions from a local news reporter, but we're supposed to believe he'd be comfortable facing down Iran, Russia, and North Korea? And Biden is supposed to be the one on his ticket who's tough on foreign policy.

More importantly: this episode points to a very troubling pattern. Whenever confronted by difficult questions posed by people who haven't succumbed to the creepy Obama Hypnosis, the Obama Team reaction is to silence them. They did it to a Chicago radio station that dared to interview someone critical of Obama's past. They did it to Joe the Plumber, seeking to destroy him for daring to ask Obama a question about taxes. They are threatening to do it nationwide with the Fairness Doctrine.

You aren't allowed to raise Obama's middle name, Hussein. You aren't allowed to say that half of his family is Muslim. You aren't allowed to say that he was born to a Muslim father, which, under Islam, automatically made him a Muslim. You aren't allowed to discuss Reverend Wright. Or Bill Ayers. Or Bernardine Dohrn. Or Louis Farrakhan. Or Father Phleger. Or Tony Rezko. You aren't allowed to point out that so far, the Iranians, the Russians, the Syrians, Hamas, parts of al Qaeda, Hugo Chavez, the Castro brothers, and Kim Jong Il have endorsed him. You aren't allowed to ask him about the vote fraud or illegal campaign contributions being done in his name. You aren't allowed to say he's lying about his tax plan. Or about his past associations. Or his past, period.

If you raise any of these issues, you risk being punished, smeared, and silenced.

If this is the chill that has set in ALREADY, just imagine what it will be like once they take the White House.

Watch what you say. Or else.

Fat Lady, Not Singing Yet

The Obama campaign and its wingmen in the left-wing press want you to believe this election is over. Obama is up by 14 points! He's planning a big election-night victory bash! He's already got his Cabinet picked out, and is setting an ambitious First 100 days!

One problem: nobody except for the ACORN-registered Mickey Mouse, Spongebob Squarepants, and Homer Simpson has voted yet.

Brand-new polls released today tell a different story: the Associated Press poll shows Obama with a 1 point lead; the George Washington University Battleground Poll, shows the race tied; and the Investor's Business Daily poll shows Obama with a 3.7 point lead. Other polls show Obama with bigger leads, from 9 to 14 points. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground.

This tells me that this race is volatile, with a larger than usual percentage of undecided voters this late in the game.

It also tells me that this race is a lot closer than the media would have you believe. ACORN is doing one form of voter fraud. Another form of voter fraud is coming from the left-wing press trying to suppress your vote by making you think your McCain vote wouldn't matter. "Obama is so far ahead! Why don't you stay at home on Election Day, pull on those bunny slippers, and watch Oprah. (You'd better get used to it!") This tactic is more subtle---but no less insidious---than ACORN registering Mr. Jive Turkey to vote 17 times.

The internals of the AP poll also show some interesting trends. Since the last presidential debate and the advent of Joe the Plumber, McCain has made big gains among likely voters earning less than $50,000 a year, among rural voters, among whites who haven't finished college, among whites of both genders, and those who are married. He's also narrowed the gap among unmarried whites. Even more importantly, he's whittled Obama's lead on the economy down to 6 points.

Don't let the left-wing press hyenas tell you this is over. Don't let them tell you Obama is coasting to a coronation. Don't let them suppress your vote.

Show them that in America, WE have the final say.

A Big Question

Barack Obama has made a not unreasonable strategic decision to sit on his lead and hightail it to Hawaii to visit his ill grandma (this would be the same white grandma he implied was a racist in his Philadelphia speech on Reverend Jeremiah Wright.)

One thing he's conveniently doing: avoiding one very critical Big Question. It's an obvious question, yet I haven't heard anyone else raise it. It's a question made evident by the brutally honest comments of his running mate, Joe Biden.

At a campaign rally on Sunday in Seattle, Biden said this:

"Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year old senator President of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here, if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

(Then he descended in some weirdness, which included the phrase, "Gird your loins." Not exactly Jeffersonian prose. But I digress.)

Here is the Big Question Obama is avoiding:

He says he'll "change the world."

He says he'll "fix" our reputation in the "world."

He says he'll get the "world" to respect and love us again.

So if he's elected and can deliver all of this "change" and "respect" and "love": why would the "world" want to test him?

America the Invisible

Feeling ignored lately?

It's not a figment of your imagination. If you're not voting for Barack Obama, you don't exist.

Today brings news that Obama is meeting with his transition team, booking his Cabinet, and planning his first 100 days in office. He is aided and abetted by his wingmen in the left-wing press, who are writing columns exalting the new president and appearing on TV talk shows to discuss how President Obama is doing already. The third leg of this liberal trifecta is the Democratic leadership in Congress, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, who are salivating at having huge majorities so they can ram through whatever left-wing insanity strikes them. President B.H. Obama will sign said left-wing insanity, of course. After all, he's already won.

There's a fine line between the confidence that comes from healthy ego and hubris. Obama and his cheerleaders have assumed that his lead in the polls means a guaranteed election night victory (to be celebrated at an outdoor venue in Chicago---no word yet on if the Greek columns have arrived.)

But the Obama Orgy of Presumption is forgetting one thing: us.

With the exception of ACORN-registered Mickey Mouse, Spongebob Squarepants, and Jive Turkey, no one's voted yet.

The Obama-ites are a loud and rambunctious group. They dominate the airwaves and proclaim their candidate loudly.

But there is another group of Americans out there who are quieter, more reserved, but no less proud of THEIR candidate. They are the great SILENT majority. They are Joe the Plumber. They are us.

We carried Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush to election and re-election. We can turn the Obama tide. We may be quiet, but we are fierce.

And we vote too.
