The liberal media has no idea what to do with John McCain's running mate, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. If they attack her for being "inexperienced," they remind everyone that the dude at the top of the Democratic ticket was rubberstamping the corrupt Daley machine in Chicago 3 years ago. If they attack her for being "too conservative," they risk pointing out that the dude at the top of her ticket isn't the love of most conservatives' lives and is quite palatable to independent voters. If they attack her for being "weak on foreign policy," they again raise the specter of a Democratic presidential candidate completely unversed in foreign affairs; so much so that he admitted as much when he selected Joe Biden as his running mate. If they attack her persona, her clothes, her hair, her eyeglasses, they run the risk of piling on a woman and having Hillary (of all people!) rush to her defense.
The Democratic ticket and their wingmen in the media are at a loss for what to do with her.
Palin's first mission accomplished: she has utterly vexed the opposition.
That's no small thing.
Palin has another secret weapon that the other three people running for president and vice president do not have:
She is the only one who has actually run something.
John McCain led bravely and selflessly during his time in the Navy, which is not to be discounted. But since that time, he has spent his adult life in the U.S. Senate. Ditto Joe Biden. Barack Obama has been a state legislator and briefly, a U.S. Senator. Hillary Clinton--for all of her ballyhooed "experience"--is also a Senator. The only thing she ever ran was health care reform, which ended in disaster.
There is a reason we don't elect Senators to the presidency: they legislate. They hem and haw, cut deals, and make pompous speeches from the floors of their chambers.
They do not have to LEAD. If one of their bills fails, they can hide behind the 99 other Senators: "It was Hatch's fault I couldn't get this through." Or "Biden held it up in committee." They never have to take responsibility for anything. They never have to put their necks out. They can always blame others (which they often do). And they never have to risk anything. The only "risk" they ever take is having to cast a tough vote, and even then, they find cagey ways out of it. Obama voting "present," anyone?
Obviously, this year we will elect a Senator president. But there is only one ticket that has someone on it who has run something. A few things, actually.
The media make fun of the fact that Palin was the mayor of what they call "tiny" Wasilla, Alaska. They don't make fun of Obama's "community organizing," in which he dealt with a few hundred people. When he became a state senator, he moved on to represent a few thousand. Palin LED several thousand. Obama was making speeches for them.
The media also make fun that she's the Governor of a "sparsely populated" state. A state, by the way, that is larger than all but 18 countries, and is at the heart of our nation's energy security. She LEADS the state; she doesn't just toss some pork at it. She heads up the National Guard; she doesn't just make abstract speeches about our military and their missions.
As Governor, she has to set her state's agenda, and then fight to get it through, and then fight to implement it. Based on all of these battles, you could say she's got more wartime experience than Obama and Biden combined.
Most of our presidents come from the executive branch, either as governors or sitting vice presidents. They know what it is to be accountable, to govern, to lead.
And out of the top four running for our nation's highest offices, the woman they are belittling is perhaps better equipped to lead than at least two of the others.
NEW CAMPAIGN AD FROM GRINGOVISION:
KOSKOOKS With "documentation" and fotos etc they "prove" that Sarah Palin's teen-daughter, Bristol, is not pregnant as these Republicans want you to believe. They "prove" that Bristol, instead, is the mother of the Down syndrome baby that is currently under wraps. Sarah in fact is the grandmother. The Republicans want you to believe that Sarah is still pregnant with the Down syndrome baby. See how Republicans lie? More McSame Bush. They'll stop at nothing. See?
NON-KOOK DOCTOR It is very unusual for a teenager to give birth to a Down syndrome baby. It happens mainly with older mothers.
ALASKA: The whole state is laughing at KOSKOOKS and the elite provincials who believe them. Everybody in Alaska has known for months that Palin's daughter Bristol was, and still is, pregnant. She is NOT the mother of the Down syndrome baby, KOSKOOKS notwithstanding.
KOSKOOKS As facts mount and get in the way, KOSKOOKS frantically remove all traces of their "gotcha" fotos and other "documentation" from their site. They immediately begin a new "expose": Rumor has it that Palin may have been a member of a party that wants Alaska to secede from the U.S.
HUFFINGTON POST "EXPOSE" : Sarah Palin once told a "boob" joke. Worse yet, it was funny.
APOSTLE AXELROD'S OBAMESSIAH: If my daughter made a mistake, she shouldn't be punished with a baby.
SARAH PALIN: A child is not a punishment.
ANNOUNCER's VOICE-OVER. Sarah Palin. She delivers.

Monica,
The Democrats and the OSM (Obamastream Media) Hack Central, hysterical with panic, obviously are going all out in attempt to search and destroy Palin family image. Even the Sulzberger Times, on its circulation-in-free-fall front page, is running three--count 'em---three stories about Bristol's baby. (Subscribe, get free barf bag with logo)
Nevertheless, after these yuppie life forms emerge from the fever swamps they fail to dunk the nation in, here is a gringomanic suggestion for your next blast-off on air......BARRACUDA! (played at the volume of your convenience)

From Byron York (NRO) while the Palin family business is invaded by the elite sleazarati, from the almost bankrupt NY Times on down.
By Byron York
St. Paul — At 6:30 Monday morning, at a hotel here in St. Paul, a team of senior McCain staffers got word from even more senior staffers that there was news about vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin. Everybody had heard the rumors, spread on The Atlantic and DailyKos websites, that Palin’s fifth child, Trig, born last April, was not really hers — that Trig was really Palin’s 17 year-old daughter’s child, and Palin faked pregnancy to cover up her daughter’s condition. None of that was true, they all knew. But the top McCain staffers revealed that a story would be breaking on the wires in a few hours reporting that Palin’s daughter, Bristol, is, in fact, pregnant now. The father is Bristol’s boyfriend, the staffers were told, and she intends to marry him.
The McCain aides’ assignment was to call a list of about 40 top evangelical and other cultural conservative leaders. Each one would get a personal explanation of the story, and each was asked for his or her reaction. The McCain people reached nearly everyone before the story broke, and the verdict was unanimous — all the leaders supported Palin and her place on the McCain ticket.

Palin's strong point is definitely that she was the governor of the largest state with the most oil, especially since Alaska's constitution establishes a strong executive, as opposed to Texas which purposely gives its governor little power.
Her weak point, as I've pointed out, is that she is a supporter of creationism, making her an obvious looney toon. This is where the Democrats should attack her.

The Creationist chooses life.
The Democrats choose a needle and suction cup.
Attack her, liberals. Please.
Camille Paglia, a brilliant and scholarly lesbian, eloquent Democrat and Obama supporter, now says that Palin's speech last week was "the best she has ever heard from a female politician."
Look out, libs. You too, George Soros.

Fred:
Gringoman is having a septengenerian equivelant of a wetdream over the Monty Python pick for VP as McC's friend-in-chief.
But witness the dis-info from this Gringoman web piece:
By Dan Cameron Rodill | Friday, June 8th, 2007 at 6:56 pm
June 08. BYE, JOHNNY (MCCAIN): On the latest setback (fatal?) for the Bush-Kennedy-McCain ‘Amnesty-We-Won’t-Call-Amnesty’ Illegal Immigration Bill in the Senate: Americans, in rare fury and angst, clearly burned up phone and fax lines to Congress, and swarmed the ear drums of any who dared visit the home front. As for Globalista Georgie the Yalie, “this fine President” of the national crisis in illegal aliens, two previous posts at gringoman.com (with vivid art work), are still fresh and relevant as ever, and add to the ‘Conversation’: OUR FIRST MEXICAN PRESIDENT and IS GEORGE BUSH OVER?
As for the increasingly embarrassing Senator John McCain, whom I used to like and admire, we are witnessing the political implosion of America’s most celebrated POW. What was clear weeks ago is now flash-point obvious. He used to be an American, then became something a little different, i.e., a Washingtonian and a border sell-out. It can happen, even to a famous war hero. The great Beltway Demon can embrace your ambition, drink to your ego, gild your dreams, salivate your vanity, then chew it all up and spit you out like Chinese antifreeze toothpaste. Johnny boy, no White House for you, now or ever, with or without the bleeping temper. Hello Giuliani, or Romney, or that “looming shadow” Fred Thompson. Bye, Johnny.
Gratifying, yet sad. Or is it sad, yet gratifying?
Let's be charitable and say that Gringoman has had water in the ears since he tried (literally) to make a splash in the theatre.
Do you ever find substance in these Gringodiver posts?

Gilbert Washington, the Angry Black 'Republican'
What is your point? Even offended idiots have a point, don't they?
McCain's comeback is obviously a political miracle. This has been mentioned already in recent gringomanic posts, for those "researchers" who do not need remedial English.
99% of the political "experts" last year considered McCain politically dead. Even his loyal staffers were leaving, no money coming in. Well over 50% of Republicans were disgusted with him due to border sell-out, McCain Feingold and taking faux so-called 'Republicans' like yourself seriously.
Of course, liberal sleaze may not believe in redemption. Others do.
McCain also has proved that he never gives up.
Redemption. Fantastic persistence.
No one expects a Fredka to understand these things. Welcome, Offended One, to his class.
ps. GringoVision hails McCain for proving myself and 99% of the experts wrong. Be afraid, libs (and RINOS too, even of the 'black' persuasion.) Be, as Gringobro would say, "verra, verra up-tight."

All this, and Palin has not been the VP pick for a week yet. There is more coming….keep watching. I’m still incredulous that McCain picked someone who he met for 15 minutes back in February. He does not know this woman at all, and has no idea what sort of working relationship he and her would have as President and VP. After telling us that Obama is not experienced enough to face the “dangerous world since 9/11, and Islamic terrorism”, he goes and picks someone who has ZERO ideas on foreign policy who traveled out of the country for the first time in her life in 2007? And McCain says Obama is the one with poor judgment?
Incredible.
Let's see how this continues to unfold.
Posted by: naijaman | September 02, 2008 at 02:45 PM
I have to dispute what you said, Naijaman.
The Garden of Eden would have been located somewhere in the Middle East. Obviously, Palin is knowledgeable about Eden, and therefore has some ideas about foreign policy.

Judgement? Oh, yeah, Baby. Go right ahead and make Johnny Boy's day. Let's see how this unfolds with Obama Black Theology mentors, Obama White Chicago Machine mentors, Obama terrorist mentors, Obama indicted Arab mentor Reszko, and how he went along to get along with all the slime, sleaze, corruption and hate, his 100 miliion dollar education project in Chicago a shambles with nothing to show for it, while everyone in Alaska knows that Palin fought the sleaze in her own party, and won, while Barry gave speeches and had a black woman knocked off the ballot in dirty pool so that he could get his first elected post in life.
Judgement? Yeah. Bring it on. Please. The sooner the better.

Let's take it a little slow, Offended One. You don't really want to jump to delusions, do you? It doesn't really help your dumb 1930's platitudes about the 'falangists.' OMG, your profs still dish that stuff out like they're hustling babes at a "people's rally" in Union Square back in 1965? Unbelievable. I thought the Obamabots were the "new," "da change." Heh-heh. You really should save this tripe for Fred when you discuss "the fascists" and "the racists." He'll eat it up without mustard. Just watch out for his nose.
You probably heard of a border. Do they mention that on your Campus Soviet today? The US happens to have one. Borders are intimately tied up with sovereignty and vice versa. No less than Ronald Reagan, among many others, made that clear. The majority of Republicans, and many Democrats, believe that McCain went way over the line with Bush and Kennedy in opening up the gates to a tidal wave of Illegalismo.
You probably still don't understand why betraying national sovereignty---even if for the best of so-called 'compassionate' reasons---is considered something different from 'American.' You clearly do not understand that for an American the Republic is built and rests on law and NOT on the whim of vote-sucking Democrats or cheap-labor sucking Business. That is Americanism. That is 1776. John McCain got sucked into the Dem-Pub unlawful violation of Americanism. He is now showing some signs of returning to his senses. It's a gamble, but considering the Che Guevara alternative, I'm willing to bet on McCain "coming home" and being more open to the popular will than Axelrod's Teleprompter would be. He is clearly more American than Obama probably ever will be.
Of course, you still do not understand. So vote for The One. He's got the color. That's what matters most to you and you know it. McCain is still not good enough on this issue, but could be educable. He still is not part of the Socialismus. You do not educate the Bolsheviki and unrepentant terrorists. You just keep them out of the way, unless they want to bite you.

The Hill reported what Fred Thompson told Fox:
Thompson told Fox News that the Times has focused on Palin’s children, saying, “I don’t think they get it.”
But Thompson also said the Times is not the only one who has had unfair coverage of Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) running mate, claiming liberal bloggers “are in a state of panic” about Palin.
Thompson touted Palin as a outsider, suggesting that some Washington Republicans are “sore” that McCain didn’t pick an inside-the-Beltway politician.
He said Palin “excites people like I’ve never seen before.”
I agree. Panic set in.
When Bill Clinton was breaking federal law on sexual harassment and committing perjury, the press lectured us at length on how sex is private.

MJFell,
Logic is not Fred's forte. He's a liberal. I mention this on the remote possibility that you haven't already realized his limited power to reason. The poor guy doesn't even realize that he's as "faithful" as any Christian.
If the existence of God cannot be "proved", by the same logic, it cannot be disproved. Fred is conceivably intelligent enough to understand this.(Let's give him the benefit of a doubt.) Instead,he prefers to grasp at "evidence" that "proves" to his limited mind that a God, or even gods, do not exist.
The funny thing is that this stiff-necked atheist doesn't even realize that he is a person of "faith." He has "faith" that God does not exist, as he can never "prove" the contrary. All he can do is console his liberal grey matter with "evidence" of what he thinks is "likely."
You want to convert him to reason and logic? Good luck.

More, relating to the gringomanic claim that the Dems and OSM hacks have good reason to be splashing around in their fever swamps over Sarah Palin, even the near bankrupt Sulzberger Slimes attempting to slime her with 3--count -em--3 front page stories on Bristol's belly.
This from Dick Morris, who knows Washington like a fungus toe nail and even touted Condaleeza Rice for McCain's VP......
Palin is a godsend to McCain. She injects charisma and novelty into what would otherwise have been a deadly dull ticket. She has a compelling record of battling corruption in Alaska — uncovering misconduct by fellow Republicans and beating a GOP pork-king governor in a primary.
And his choice of her suggests that the old John McCain — the bold, fighting Senate maverick — is back. (News that Palin’s daughter is pregnant should make no difference. The governor had disclosed the fact to McCain, and he, like the tolerant and wise person he is, accepted it.)
The Palin pick also aims straight at Obama’s biggest problem: his difficulty in attracting the votes of women over 40. To win in November, a Democrat needs to win this group by a wide margin, yet Obama now trails by four points.
Palin also makes it far harder to paint a McCain administration as a third term for Bush, yet the "Bush-McCain" charge lies at the core of Obama’s campaign.
What will be the next surprise of this remarkable political year?

GringoJumper --
The press lectured us about how sex was private??? Are you kidding??? They had a field day with Clinton, reporting everything, all Monica Lewinsky, all the time. Sometimes I think the press are like sharks, neither liberal nor conservative, simply swimming and splashing wherever there's blood.
You are wrong about the panic about Palin. Most of the liberals I know feel great about this choice, seeing it as the element that will unite us to vote against McCain. Before the addition of Palin, McCain seemed like a reasonable choice, and more experienced. But the non-Adam-and-Eve crowd is not too happy with his VP choice.
I have a problem with logic? So because the existence or non-existence of a "God" can't be proved or disproved, I am also a man of faith? NOTHING can be proved or disproved in the sense you are talking about. The fact that George Washington was president of the U.S. can't be proved or disproved in your sense. But I can look at scholarly works and documents and exhibits in museums that persuade me that he was. All you've got is the assertion that we exist, and the follow-up question of how could we exist without a "God", and you have some fun fairy tales. Otherwise, you have nothing.
Even if there is a "God", it doesn't mean that evolution is not a scientific subject that should not be taught in school WITHOUT your religious stories. As I've said already, you have your church for that. As you and Ummah say to me: KUMBAYA!!!!
There is no basis for teaching religion (creationism) in public school. And I question the judgment of a politician who suggests it should be. Further, I question the intelligence of a politician (or anyone) who actually believes that the Genesis story is for real.

Is it really possible? Could the man I describe as "Spengler, the Phlegmatic End Timer" in my blog roll, be a Democrat? And is he pronouncing the DOOM of the Democratic party?
DENVER - Senator Barack Obama's acceptance speech last week seemed vastly different from the stands of this city's Invesco Stadium than it did to the 40 million who saw it on television. Melancholy hung like think smog over the reserved seats where I sat with Democratic Party staffers. The crowd, of course, cheered mechanically at the tag lines, flourished placards, and even rose for the obligatory wave around the stadium. But its mood was sour. The air carried the acrid smell of defeat, and the crowd took shallow breaths. Even the appearance of R&B great Stevie Wonder failed to get the blood pumping.
Hmm. Who is this guy? A spy? Is he even a guy? And what if his name really is Spengler? That would fool everyone. He goes on:
On television, Obama's spectacle might have looked like The Ten Commandments, but inside the stadium it felt like Night of the Living Dead. The longer the candidate spoke, and the more money he promised to spend on alternative energy, preschool education, universal health care, and other components of the Democratic pinata, the lower the party professionals slouched into their seats.
Well, now. Deep, deep, well now. Maybe Spengler is Warren Christopher. Just a guess.
It is a worthy read.

Gringoman, I make no attempt to convert liberals. I only present evidence so that reasonable people know they have a choice and that they can decide for themselves.
I do agree that liberals tend to react emotionally whenever they're faced with contrary evidence. They seem to have a fear of anything which contradicts their own views.
Which explains why MSNBC spent so much time yesterday replaying footage of the Hurricane Katrina disaster and criticizing the Bush administration.
Forget the NEWS.
Forget how well prepared the local, state and federal governments were for Hurricane Gustov and how well they executed their plan and avoided another human crisis.
Keep your liberal viewers focused on how poorly these same government institutions performed three year ago so they'll continue to HATE.

I know very well the difference between figurative and literal, as in, the Book of Genesis is a figurative explanation of the creation of earth and the origins of man, in that it is purely symbolic and designed to teach us moral lessons.
The theory of evolution provides a literal explanation for the development of species and the origins of man.
Is that it?

I was referring to Gringo's quotation re: Spengler, not hurricane clips. I know it's hard to follow a thread, but make the effort before attacking.

Fred-
I termed that POSITION unworthy of merit. You've chosen to classify it as an attack. This is what I mean by stating that left leaning people react emotionally.
Had you made clear which thread you were responding to there would have been no misunderstanding.

Coventional wisdom: All those angry Hillary-enraged cougars will go "home" to Obama on Election Day.
Hmmmmm. Who knows? Doesn't sound like it from the growling at this "progressive" women's site. Plenty of examples. Here's just one from TAKE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OFF LIFE SUPPORT: IT IS BRAIN DEAD.
Goodbye Howard Dean. Goodbye Barack Obama. Goodbye Nancy Pelosi. Goodbye Donna Brazile. You have not only lost the White House for the Democratic Party. Today you have brought the Democratic Party to the brink of irrelevancy altogether. John McCain has played you all like a piano.
As a result of the corruption, new groups are popping up: (be sure to read Dr. Lynette Long’s on Caucus Fraud), and PUMAs remain committed to voting against Obama. (If you haven’t posted on Greta Wire, you still can.) The rule manipulation during the RBC, voter intimidation, shameless race-baiting, and dozens of other forms of coercion and thuggery have destroyed the trust, compassion and equality that formed the hallmarks of our party. That, along with the most outrageous sexism and misogyny, which Obama and his cult have capitalized on, instigated and exploited, have contributed to the jack-booted fascism that has appropriated the name “Democrat.”
Today we say GOODBYE to the OLD Democratic Party. The OLD Democratic Party has led us to DISASTER. John McCain and Sarah Palin will win in November by a landslide.
I plan to help them.

MJFELL,
Good to see you on Monica again. Never mind the libs. What do you think of the Sarah Palin pick?
Do you think that McCain is taking a dip on her account or because the media are rehashing Katharina?

Gringoman:
Your are a propagandists dream! All this sugar from the confederate general about american-as-apple-pie VP choice tenderloin Palin.
Red, White, and Blue.
So is Gringoman doing the love thing on Palin because some civil war wet dream of succession from the Union?
(Those states rights people were just gringojerks. Name one that broke from the union that was not a slave state (those two words cause goose bumps, Gringo?)?)
Supposedly this is all on film.
So much for all of that right-wing La Raza garbage about los immigrantes reconquistas.
Is Palin trying to peel Sewards Folly off and create a new soveriegn country?
Is she Free Alaska?
Let my nominee go? "Bold stroke from the old bloke"?

Wow, Gringo...that's so low about the SSN.
Funny how the Press kept John Edwards' little love-child under wraps for so long and couldn't wait to spill the beans on Gov. Palin's daughter and her baby bump. The double standard is sickening.

Mjfell --
I haven't seen your name before today, so I'm assuming that you are new to this blog. Hence, you are not aware of the abuse that I have taken from Gringo and Ummah. Therefore, you have no right to advise me to be less "emotional" here. Put in your time before offering advice, thank you.

Fred-
Your not having seen my name before today doen't mean that my positions lack merit. Nor does it mean that I have no right to state them.
Perhaps if you'd spent less time fighting with Gringo and Ummah and read through some of the other topics on this blog you'd have seen me before today.
Regardless, I offer your condescending remarks as further demonstration that left leaning people react emotionally. (Note: I'm referring to left leaning people, not you.)

Gringo...I hope like hell McCain/Palin win in November...I'll be voting against ZerObama!
Don't forget to listen to "Quinn & Rose"...it's a hidden treasure in talk radio. They are one XM, out of Philly and are on in the AM (6-9am).

Hey MJ! "Left Said Fred" is ALWAYS emotional here. It's like "Groundhog" day when newbies come on here and tell him to cool his jets. Oh, he's also a spelling Nazi. Especially with me. I notice he never corrects "Roosevelt Franklin" on his many spelling errors. Being a Liberal means NEVER having to say you're sorry!

There are a few reasons for McCain's dip in the polls.
First off, the Democrats are seeing the traditional bump in polls after their recently completed Convention.
Secondly, coverage of Hurricane Gustov has cut into coverage of everything else (except on MSNBC, where they gave equal time to Hurricane Katrina) and the Republican Convention/John McCain coverage suffered.
Lastly, the mainstream media has focused on any and every negative they can find about Govenor Palin. Since the mainstream media is invested in getting Obama elected President what else would you expect?
It looks like McCain's choice of Govenor Palin has generated great excitement amongst Republicans. The right wing of the GOP is now energized about the McCain ticket as never before. This renewed excitement can only help McCain's chances in the election.

MJFELL, I've seen you post plenty on Monica. Glad you could enjoy Fred's usual tack of running to the first person he thinks it new on here to offer up his complaints about how badly he is treated here.
Liberalism is a mental disorder and it is an emotional disorder as well.
Posted by: Ummahgummah | September 02, 2008 at 08:23 PM
Gringoman,
HUFFINGTON POST "EXPOSE" : Sarah Palin once told a "boob" joke. Worse yet, it was funny
_______________________________________________________
The blogs were trying to discredit her by posting stories like this. Of course, what the uptight liberals don't get is that we LOVE of her sense of humor.
Everytime they post one of these stories, they must be getting her more votes.

PS. Fred considers it abuse when he can't come back with a valid argument which is why he feels so abused all of the time.
Instead of jumping lib-ship he continues to cling [no pun intended] to his tightly held beliefs in liberalism.
Today he accuses me of believing in Adam and Eve.
I call this projection of the reTard Kind.
