In the middle of the Traveling Circus moving through the Middle East stands the Ringleader and Master of Ceremonies, Barack Obama.
Step right up, he says. I will show you wonders and miracles. I will dazzle you with my charm and talents. But first, fifty cents, please. (Or $25,000....)
While in Jordan, he schmoozed with King Abdullah----the meetings all private and off-the-record of course, except Abdullah and his fellow Arabs came away encouraged that Obama would be more "even-handed" in dealing with the Middle East (meaning more pro-Arab and less pro-Israel). Charles Hurt in The New York Post writes that Ringleader Obama opted for no photo ops with any regular Arabs. Can't run the risk of reminding American voters that his father's side of the family is Muslim. (Maybe Jordanian Arabs should start a "Dissed by Obama" support group. The two Muslim women bumped from a photo op here at home several weeks ago could be charter members.)
From Jordan, the Ringleader moved on to Israel, where he railed against the possibility of a nuclear Iran, calling it a "grave threat." Just weeks ago, however, he dismissed Iran as a small, relatively insignificant country that certainly didn't pose a threat of such gravity. What has changed? Oh, right. He's standing in Israel, and with a general election coming up fast.
On talking to apocalyptic Islamic fundamentalists like Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, this week's version is that he's "always said" that he'd be open to talking to rogue leaders if he thought those talks could produce results. One problem: that ISN'T what he's "always" said. He's "always" said that he'd be willing to talk to Ahmadinejad and other maniacs "without preconditions." And he never mentioned the objective of such talks being "results," or anything other than an ego-stroke for a sensitive listener like a President Obama.
What has changed? Oh, right. He uttered this latest variation while standing in Israel, and with a general election coming up fast.
He also said, "I think there are opportunities for us to mobilize a much more serious regime of sanctions on Iran, but also to offer them the possibility of improved relations to the international community if they stand down on these nuclear weapons."
Welcome to the Bush policy, George W. Obama.
Of course, the Bush policy of ever bigger carrots has resulted in the Iranians laughing in our faces and proceeding with nuclear development. Would President Obama continue that policy until Iran goes nuclear? Or would he see the policy of sanctions and diplomacy as a failure, and if so, would he be willing to take more aggressive action?
None of the Three Horsemen of the Apocalypse traveling with him (Katie, Brian, and Charlie) ever ask the Ringleader the brutal follow-up. (What? And ruin the circus?)
In the Obama Three-Ring Spectacle, everything is an illusion. Every statement morphs into something else. Every policy changes into another. The smoke billows and the mirrors move. The floors shift beneath you, and the Funhouse beckons.
Step right up.
What did I read?!
Monica, unabashed Bush supporter, saying "Of course, the Bush policy of ever bigger carrots has resulted in the Iranians laughing in our faces and proceeding with nuclear development."
This is the Monica I love. It doesn't matter whether there is an (R) or a (D) next to your name on the ballot; what matters is the interest of the United States ... analyzed with cold logic. Bush did some things right and some things wrong. Our country is better served if we recognize and discuss both.
As Gringobro or bra (I forgot which) might say, "You go girl!"

Also Bush had nothing to do with the oil price drop. It was the recognition of decreased projected demand from Asia.

from GRINGOBABA:
Greetings Dear Moniqa:
As a member of the GAB (Gringo Advisory Board) moderate mooslim who posts under suitable pseudonym (thank you, Mr. Gringoman), I agree with you on Mr. Obama seeming to hide from his wonderful mooslim heritage. Monica, it is painful to say this. We mooslims feel things. What patience the Prophet (pbuh) demands of us at times. We want Obama to be a man.
Yes, the Obama threw two hijab women under the caravan. We mooslims do not like.
Yes, he avoid foto-op with fine mullah, good Imam and cheering crowds of the faithful. We mooslims not like.
Yes, he seem to run from his great name, Hussein. We mooslims not like.
Yes, he now want to get dog for family. We mooslims know that dog is dirty.
Moniqa, we know he commit apostasy, convert to Christianity. We mooslims not like, but, well, you know the politics, yes?
So here, my Dear, is the point: What we mooslims gonna do? Where can one billion go? We gonna go John McCain?
You kidding me?
You know what McCain old friend from the Hanoi prison, Bud Day, Medal of Honor, say? He say we want you to submit. Mooslim want that?
Moniqa, I ever ask you to submit? I do not live in cave. I am moderate. I do not blow up. Here is what McCain old friend say.
"The Muslims have said either we kneel or they're going to kill us. ... I don't intend to kneel and I don't advocate to anybody that we kneel, and John doesn't advocate to anybody that we kneel."
.......Moniqa, if you belong to Ummah (instead of be kaffir lady) what you gonna do? GoBama, or John McCain?
You see?
Even if Obama not ready to be a man, he still be orator. He got the Ummah, he got the black, he got the Euro socialisti, the Africa, the Asia, the white US liberal. He got the United Nation.
What John McCain got?

I think the fact that Monica only has about 4 blog groupies speaks volumes about how irrelevant she is to most people - Monica who? - and of those 4 mindless blog groupies themselves!
MINDLESS LOSERS.

Truther,
Your observation about demand is certainly correct. Demand overseas may have been throttled by the reduction of subsidies and price controls, in China for example. Perhaps economic activity in China is curtailed, ironically, by a slower economy in the US which also dampened demand at home.
In fairness, we should credit Bush for reversing the Executive Order banning off-shore drilling. Now he must complete the deal by getting Congress to act. This is mostly a supply issue. One way to do this is to accede to Pelosi’s idea to open the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in exchange for off-shore drilling, until more permanent solutions can be found. Another way is to reclaim the leases where it is proven there is no reserve, as the Democrats suggest. Another way is to incorporate aspects of Gore’s idea to upgrade the electric grid and make it “smart”. These are not bad ideas, but will not by themselves solve the underlying problem. A solution would encompass all good ideas regardless of their origin, and ultimate include nuclear. Again, France generates nearly 90% of its power from nuclear!
The WSJ on-line today had an article about new finds in the Arctic:
“A report by the U.S. Geological Survey found that the area north of the Arctic Circle has an estimated 1,670 trillion cubic feet of natural gas – nearly two thirds the proved gas reserves of the entire Middle East – and 90 billion barrels of oil.”
With the right leadership, we can become energy independent. So far neither Presidential candidate has shown to be that leader.
Cheers,

tiny(d*ckhead)tim.. since all there are is 4 "blog groupies" here it would seem a terrific waste of time for one as enlightened and intelligent asyou to waste on four "losers" like us.
So you and Fred who considers us "lunatic fringe" should use your considerable intellectual resources and contribute where your talemts are more appreciated and exposed to a much wider audience.
I'd liewk to suggest you move on to Huffpo and KOTZ/Dailypukes where your I/O-put will be much more appreciated and will actually impact the mushy-brained libs who frequent those sites.
Spare yourself, tiny!
Your energies are completely WASTED on us ignoramuses. You are like mohamed here preaching to the Jews!
The only way you will "convert" us would be to kill us.
We are the steadfast, the principled, the logical..

Michael, France sells nuclear-produced electircity to Germany. The Germans are beginning to stir on nuclear but they are still being held back by self-hating Greens.
It's as if there were a bunch of tinitims in the German Bundestag.. with the power to drag down anything that would actually benefit the country at whim.
Thre is a "lunatic fringe" in Germany who vote for these freaks.
It seems that here in the US they have infiltrated the Dhimmicrat Party.

He also said, "I think there are opportunities for us to mobilize a much more serious regime of sanctions on Iran, but also to offer them the possibility of improved relations to the international community if they stand down on these nuclear weapons."
----------------------------------------
That is pure blather. Ahmaddinnerjacket will play Obama like a fine Stradivarius. The election of Obama will result in one of two things: (1) Iran will join the nuclear club, or (2)we will have the mother of all Middle East Wars between Isreal and Iran.

While folks may disagree with some of Senator Obama’s positions, and no candidate is without flaw, we should seek to know the truth (not what WE want to believe as the truth) before making a judgment on Senator Obama, or John McCain for that matter.
Scripture tells us, even when we disagree, to “clothe yourselves with humility toward one another” (1 Pet. 5:5) and to “put away falsehood and speak the truth to one another...” (Eph. 4:25).
Today McCain accused Obama of being opposed to stopping genocide. I mean...c'mon. For crying out loud, is John McCain serious? He is getting some seriously poor advice from his handlers.
Posted by: naijaman | July 23, 2008 at 10:13 PM
Naijaman,
I like your quote from Scripture. In the interest of truth, when and in what context did McCain say such a thing?
Yesterday I asked you to cite the reference to McCain v. Obama re. bombing Pakistan; but still have not heard from you.
I suggest we cite the exact quote and the context in which it was given, then discuss the policy implications.
Your thoughts?

So we are "typical white folks", Naija.. go figure.. of course noone notices any black critics of the Quisatz Hadebarak".
How convenient.

from REVEREND GRINGO(courtesy, Gringo Advisory Board)
Naijaman,
Sir, you tell us that John McCain said that Obama is opposed to stopping genocide.
This is a serious charge. It therefore deserves more attention to accuracy than you have given it. Recall, if you will, from Proverbs
12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Naijaman, this is meant in no way to accuse you of anything other than failing to document your accusation. If John McCain believes that Barack Hussein Obama would leave the Middle East as his Democratic predecessors left Vietnam and Cambodia---to the mass murderers, we can understand that. Nevertheless, it is incumbent upon you to verify.
If you can document it, fine. In these caves of darkness, the Lord welcomes the light of truth.
Reverend Gringo, revved up and testifying.

OBAMA IN BERLIN
Obama, today summoned Europeans and Americans together to "defeat terror and dry up the well of extremism that supports it" as surely as they conquered communism a generation ago."
SOMEBODY PLEASE
Tell this ignoramous that the Europeans defeated GERMAN & ITALIAN FASCISM (Hitler and Mouselini), not communism. THE RUSSIANS WERE ON OUR SIDE DURING WORLD WAR II.
How did this ignoramous graduate high school? College? We can only guess!
How is it people don't see through this phoney empty suit?
Good grief - this country is in deep trouble if it elects this emptyheaded egomaniac. But then, German elected Hitler.

Watching Obama's travels is like watching an old Bob Hope movie only it's not funny!

Good thing the Germans aren't voting in the election!
On the other hand, those who aren't quite as taken were obviously nowhere to be seen at this campaign rally.
Just like here in the States. All that were seen were the fans of course.
On the other hand.. the Europeans love this guy for America.. I am not entirely convinced they'd elect him in their own countries.
Some countries like Germany yes, which is why he went there.. Italy probably not.. though he does have his fans there as well.

Actually Germans didn't elect Hitler. He was made Chancellor by an insider deal in the Reichstag.
There was a huge flaw in the Weimar Republic System which allowed the Head of state to appoint the Chancellor in time of deadlock.

I'm not surprised that Ummah knows so much about Hitler.

I only know a two things about Ummah. He's a bigot and a member of a lunatic fringe whose opinions mean nothing outside of the comfort of this blog.
I'm sure your knowledge of Hitler is much more extensive than that, Ummah.

Umm.. never mind all that. We all know u libs are hypocrites.
But I digress.. my knowldge of Hitler includes one very important little inconvenient fact, namely that he was a great admirer of islam and expressed his desire that the German people were adherents of the "noble religion of islam". Hitler considered that religion more "suited to the German mentality" and designed to inculcate and aggressive and warlike spirit.
This admiration was far from being one-sided.

Yes, my knowledge of Hitler - and Stalin - is quite extensive, Fred. Just as is my knowledge of islam.
And thanks to you and tim my knowledge of the American Left is getting deeper by the day.
Thank you for making it happen, both of you.
