Monica --

You can't compare the age issue re: the president with a judge or a senator. The president is THE man in charge. Reagan was weak toward the end of his terms, and McCain would be older. I'm sure you realized that the president is a different matter when you wrote this pathetic entry.

Monica,

My uncle used to joke this is the only country where age is ever an issue; e.g.,

"Michael Jordan comma thirty-two comma shot 26 points in Saturday's game against the Knicks." So, I'm confused ... is his performance good or bad for his age?

If McCain serves two terms he will be only 80 when he leaves office. Still young enough to start his own blog, or to join yours.

Cheers,

UG - (continued from a previous blog)

It was not in Saudi Arabia, but in Kuwait that I witnessed this. I've never had customs take anything from me in Saudi Arabia. It used to be that they searched magazines and books for suggestive pictures, but travelers have to be smart as guests tin any country. In Egypt Copts (Christians) practice openly; in Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar -- you see an openness that you don't see in Saudi Arabia. You can even get booze in those countries, unlike some places in Utah (just kidding!) Here is what the State Department says about Kuwait:

"The Constitution provides for freedom of religion; however, the Government placed some limits on this right. The Constitution also provides that the State shall protect the freedom to practice religion in accordance with established customs, provided that it does not conflict with public policy or morals. The Constitution declares that Islam is the state religion and that Shari'a (Islamic law) is a main source of legislation."

My point is simply this: I am not claiming that these countries have the freedom or rights we enjoy. Our Bill of Rights is unique. An absence of those rights doesn’t make the people bad, it makes them unfortunate--by our standards. We only assume they must live as we do. The essence of our diplomacy should be to respect these cultures individually, not by treating them like an evil monoblock, while we maintain a redoubtable vigilance and defense against the extreme elements.

J. Pierpont Finch

SO THE DEMOCRQTS ARE HYPOCRITES. WOW - THIS IS SHOCKING. I HAD NO IDEA.

I'LL HAVE TO TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION WHENEVER I HEAR ABOUT SOMETHING THEY SAID.

THANKS!

FK

Hypocrites about what, Finch? Can you (or Monica) intelligently lay out what the supposed hypocrisy is? Or are you or some other genius (like Allah/Ummah or Gringoman) going to just call me a Marxist again?

Whatever. Whenever you get frustrated with the idiocy of the rightwing you feel better when you call me a Marxist or Socialist. Go ahead. Feel good about yourself. It doesn't make the rightwing any better than what it is. How pathetic and sad you all are.

FK

Except Michael and M/M. The rest of you need to evolve.

gringoman

FK:

If you can produce any evidence that I find you thoughtful or intellectual enough to call you a 'Marxist,' let's have it. In fact, I don't recall ever elevating you to the level of an ordinary 'socialist.' Let's have that too, as you whine again.

Now, as for seeing you as someone who often criticizes our Monica in the manner of an ill-bred lout, no need to hunt for evidence. Here it is, bubby.

So now I'm not a Marxist, but Marxists are thoughtful and intellectual. I'll keep that in mind, Gringohole.

I criticize idiocy wherever I see it. Most of the bloggers here live in an extreme rightwing bubble that excludes evidence of how the world really works.

Yeah! Let's build a wall and keep out all the illegal immigrants! How logical!

J. Pierpont Finch

HEY FREDK.

You're so clueless that I'd bet that the MARXIST BROTHERS would not even accept you into their club!

J. Pierpont Finch

HEY FREDK,

Which word in Monica's post did you not comprehend?

gringoman

FK,

You keep pretending there's something between your ears, besides schoolyard graffiti. Pointing you out as not thoughtful or intellectual enough to make the Marxie junior varsity is---can't you see?--- hardly flattering to Marxism.

Think about it.

If that's an option, in your case.

Ummahgummah

Fred converted to islam long ago.. he's got brain damage from frequently beating his forehead on the ground while straining his leags to get his *ss in the air..

So, like his brethren, he has very little grey matter left.

Fred can dish it out and disrespect the hostess but he sure can't take it.

Liberal... are you sure your name isn't Spitzer? [the hypocrite]

Ummahgummah

Teh age thing is just one of many.. it was LIBERALS who endorsed McCain - see NYT.. it was LIBERALS who votewd for him in the New Hampshire Primaries.. LIBERALS all over considered him their favorite candidate..

IT WAS LIBERALS WHO SHOVED MCCAIN DOWN OUR THROATS, FRED!!!

And I hope you liberals will come to regret your choice for our candidate..

"Careful what you wish for."

Ummahgummah

Hey, I can yell like Michael Savage!!

Dgscol

Monica is going wild! McCain is stiff. Haven't you noticed?
I recommend, with no funny business mind you, that he could use a loosening up massage in the morning to get him into the swing of things. If not his wife then perhaps someone else, possibly a husky Swedish woman with big hands. Then there is a need for a nap in the afternoon - hopefully, no red phone emergencies at 3 PM.

Ummahgummah

Maybe Grendor's mom will pay him a visit if he's too feeble to enter her cave...

FK

It must be so nice to live in a rightwing world. It's like never having to grow up.

Ummahgummah

K-Fred, it's the other way around. So don't get it twisted.

Lieberals are blind to reality. Young people are concerned with "doing good" and often fall prey to liberal ideas put in their heads by leftist "educators".

Mosty people, as they get older, relize that the world doesn't always work the way they want it too..

Kinda like.. that nice old man who looks just like Santa isn't there to bring gifts but to chop their heads off.. an ayatollah.. Satans's charge on earth.

I think it was Churchill who wrote that it's normal for a young man to be a liberal but if he's still a liberal when he gets older he's an idiot.

FK

Show me the direct quote by Churchill. If you don't have the quote, don't "think" Churchill said it and attribute it to him.

Growing up doesn't mean that your government has to adopt evil ideas. Our government should be concerned with what you cynically refer to as "doing good". Let the conservatives who are obsessed with making money and keeping it go into business, not government.

I certainly wouldn't want an evil person like you in my government.

Ummahgummah

K Fred.. who says I would want to be in your evil government? I know where Carterism leads.. why would I want to be complicit in that?

FK

BTW, Ummah Gumhead -- Are you one of these people who has grown older and more mature? Because I certainly don't ever want to become like you. You are exactly what I never want to be, nor would I want any of my children to grow up to be someone like you, so full of hate.

Have you ever met a Muslim that you didn't think should be killed or deported? Oh wait, even better, have you ever actually met a Muslim?

And BTW -- I continue to ask the question: Do you have any interests in life other than Muslim-bashing? You call me a Marxist for asking the question, but that just convinces me that you really don't have any other interests.

My life is not easy, but I would never trade places with you.

FK

Carter was a bad president. Still, his mistakes were made for different reasons than Bush's.

Carter never got the opportunity to do so much longterm damage as Bush. Bush is the worst president perhaps since Andrew Johnson, based on the scope of the damage he has done.

Ummahgummah

He borrowed it from Socrates, "A young man who is not liberal has no heart, an old man who is not conservative has no brain."

FK

I knew a lot of young conservatives growing up, but I still meet old liberals. That sounds like something written by someone who became conservative as he grew older and is, of course, saying that the way he did it was the right way.

Becoming conservative doesn't mean you have to become hateful, of course. That appears to be your brand of conservatism, Mr. Ummah Gumball.

FK

I found this at http://www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/33/messages/799.html

"The quotation usually attributed to Churchill is, "If you're not Liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're 35, you have no brain." However, the attribution is false. There is no record of Churchill ever speaking these words, and it is highly unlikely that he would have because Churchill himself did precisely the opposite. He entered politics as a Conservative and was a Conservative at age 25. He switched to the Liberal Party at age 29 and was a Liberal at age 35. (He returned to the Conservatives at age 49.) Also, his beloved wife, Clementine, was a life-long Liberal, and Churchill would hardly have delivered such an indirect insult to her."

DO YOU HAVE ANY EVIDENCE THAT CHURCHILL ACTUALLY SAID THAT OR ARE YOU JUST TALKING OUT OF YOUR A5S!!!!

FK

I found this at http://www.winstonchurchill.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=112

""Conservative by the time you're 35"
"If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain." There is no record of anyone hearing Churchill say this. Paul Addison of Edinburgh University makes this comment: "Surely Churchill can't have used the words attributed to him. He'd been a Conservative at 15 and a Liberal at 35! And would he have talked so disrespectfully of Clemmie, who is generally thought to have been a lifelong Liberal?""

FK

I HAVE JUST FREAKING SMOKED YOU, UMMAH/ALLAH S.!!!!!

I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!!! SSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I DRINK IT UP!!!!!

Ummahgummah

Keep drinking Fred.. Koolaid is your favorite I say it again.

PS. libbie-boys like K are not the kind of boys Kelis wants to bring to the yard..

FK

So now you take out the liberal stereotype handbook . . . Kool-Aid . . . what hippies used to put acid in back in the '60s when I was a toddler. Yeah, I guess that somehow applies to me.

How about just admitting you made an error, Ummah/Allah/Churchill-Expert.

Ummahgummah

I did not make an error at all K Fred. After all, Churchill did return to the Conservatives later in life.

When he regained his senses.

And you saw his opinions of Mohamedanism.. they kind of seem to match my own.. Not that anyone in power is listening..

They're fiddling like a bunch of goofs..

Ummahgummah

Carter was a bad president. Still, his mistakes were made for different reasons than Bush's.

Carter never got the opportunity to do so much longterm damage as Bush. Bush is the worst president perhaps since Andrew Johnson, based on the scope of the damage he has done.

Posted by: FredK2929

Fred keeps fumbling so I keep picking up all the Little Green Footbals and running them in for a score!

-the dreaded "comment spam" filter forcing me to break up my reply to the Koolaid-boy..

Ummahgummah

So Carter was a bad president but for "different reasons". HEAR HEAR!! Carter the do-gooder Israel-hater allowed the Ayyahola Kakamamie to start an 'islamic republic' in Iran, which precipitated much of the mahomedan violence and unrest we see today.

Ummahgummah

That regime should never have been allowed to fester.. at the latest when they took out hostages. Hey, no big deal for Fred to see these Americans taken hostage on US soil, which any of our embassies are.. international Law only has to be adhered to by our side, eh Fred??!!

That was an act of War and Dhimmi Carter did NOTHING!!!

And he reined in Israel. What's worse, he is now meeting with Hamas terrorists.

Good intentions pave to road to hell, Freddie-boy!

GROW the hell UP, child!

Ummahgummah

This is not a Koolaid Kumbaya World we live in, Fred! They see u hippies as exploitable losers and they LAUGH at how naively we approach them. They can hardly believe their LUCK and they are acting fats for fear the winds could shift before they can take over irreversably.. which explains why islam is in such a frightful hurry these days in their attempt to 'create facts'.

We are currently dealing with an islamic Blitzkrieg via immigration and our MSM which is owned in large part by SOWdi and other Middle Easty intertests.

Ummahgummah

So if you want to compare the dameg that the dhimmi has done vs. the traitor.. well.. Bush had the situation handed to him. 9/11 and the larger jihad it was only a small part of was underway long before he took office. 9/11 is the result of Carter/Clinton administrations always finding excuses NOT to go after terrorists.. so as not to lose that international Socialist Cred!

Karter handed them Iran. Klinton/Bush have handed them Kosovo. Fred wouldn't mind handing them Michigan and Ottawa.

Hugo Chavez is hosting Hezbollah in Venezuela.. FYI..

The damage the Dhimmi has done cannot be undone by the next administration. Given the three present choices we have left the best we can hope for is a stop-gap stalemate which will hoipefully be resolved by a stronger president in 2012.

So Freddie-boy, the damage Carter has done out of his do-ggoderism and liberal white guilt is WAY worse than anything Bush has done out of his greed.

Ummahgummah

And by the way.. as we go so do Hope and Freedom for the rest of the World.. like the still Christian majority in Nigeria for example.. India.. who has the scourge of islam holding their country back from achieving much better than they currently are.

There are many countries.. kenya too.. where moslems [see Obam's cousin Odinga] are fostering violence because they wish to see their evil sharia become Law of the land.

Facts are stupid things, aren't they Fred?

Keep shooting the messenger.. one day they'll be knocking on your door and you won't be able to say noone warned ya!

The indifference of our paid politicians is enabling these things I see unfolding.. patriotism has been systematically drummed out of us all and we are going to pay the price..

We all will pay the price for the cowardliness of the Quislings and the reckless naivete of the koolaid-drinkers... when I look at current political trends I am not filled with much optimism..

I see a trend toward greater collectivism, socialism and ulitmately.. islam.

Islam is the GRANDDADDY of all collectivist systems. One from which there is NO RETURN.

Ever.

FK

Wow, Ummah, and you say I write a lot? I just don't have time to read all your drivel so let's summaryize:

FredK . . . Bad . . . Kool-Aid . . . Marxist . . . Islam-lover . . . lieberal lieberal lieberal . . .

Does that sum it up?

OK, now just admit your mistake about Churchill like a grown-up so we can move on, or I will keep pounding you on how I basically tossed your conservative salad on your nice little Monica blog.

Ummahgummah

Keep tossing, Fred.. and keep avoiding the issues.. the fact is that you and your children will be negatively impacted by unbridled mohamedanism just like everyone else and their children.

Your nemesis Bush hasn't done a thing to stem the tide either. In fact he's just signed some edict allowing in another 30,000 SOWdi "students".

FK

Tell me more about Churchill, Ummah. Try to get something right for once in your life.

Ummahgummah

Keep avoiding the issues, Koolaid-Fred..

FK

Again with the Kool-Aid.

I'm not avoiding any issues. The issue is that you rely on sources that make no sense and that I have demonstrated are untrue. That is the issue, and until you face up to it, everthing you say on this blog is subject to dispute.
