I viewed a very informative HISTORY CHANNEL documentary a few days ago that I highly recommend. It's called "IRAN, THE NEXT IRAQ?"

This special traces Iran's history back 2,500 years to explore the Persian Empire -- a proud civilization and one of the world's first superpowers, the decline of that Empire in the 19th century, the discovery of oil and the rise of Western influence in Iran in the 20th century, and today's current evidence showing Iran to be a potentially serious foe of the United States.

My only criticism of the program was how they convenienty forget to blame the Jimmy Carter Administration for pulling U.S. support of The Shah of Iran because the Shah's regime failed to meet Carter's lofty "Human Rights" expectations. It was this event which caused the Shah to loose control of his regime and ultimately flee to the U.S. The distorted way the program presdented it, the loss of control was implied to have occurred due to the Shah's failing health.

Given that History Channel is part of A&E, and, A&E is a joint venture of The Hearst Corporation, ABC, Inc. and NBC Universal; I guess one should expect a liberal bias.
