This is it! The campaigning is over. The voting has begun. The pundits had the Republicans' obituary written just last week, but a last minute surge in the polls is giving many of them second thoughts. Dick Morris continues to talk about the latest bump, especially in the important race for Senate in Virginia. The latest Gallup Poll there has George Allen with 49 percent and Jim Webb with 46 percent. Morris says that if Allen wins, it is unlikely that the Democrats will take control of the Senate. Polls in several other key states are also tightening for Republicans, proving this election is far from over.
So get out and vote and check back for updates throughout the day!
This election was about millions upon millions of Americans standing up and telling President Bush that he is on the wrong course and changes have to be made.

The Democrats won, not because the Republicans weren't conservative enough, but because the Democrats fight dirty. They smear, call names, throw out wild accusations, accuse, and harass their opponents. Is it time for the Republicans to play their game?

A distorted rose is a distorted rose is a distorted rose is a distorted rose. . .
The Democrats won, not because the Republicans weren't conservative enough, but because the republicans fight dirty. They smear, call names, throw out wild accusations, accuse, and harass their opponents.
Americans are sick of it and them.

I agree 100% with you Rose.
I actually thought the Republicans got a voice during the recounts of 2000.
They soon forgot how to fight.
Like the President or not, the personal atacks that came out of LEADERSHIP within the Democratic party were disgusting.
Howard Dean, "Hates Republicans", and we're expected to believe this party is willing to work with Republicans?
The comments on the Senate floor uttered by Dick Durbin against our troops were out of line, lies, and disgusting. If a Republican had made those same statements they'd be out of a job.
I loved the term "culture of corruption" coming from a party that re-elects Sen. Akaka, who was accused of sexual harrassment and I believe settled the case, Joe Biden guilty of plagurism, Ted Kennedy, enough said, his son who is unfit due to addiction, the congressman from Louisiana with the $$$ in the freezer, Alan Hevasi, guilty not once but twice of stealing from both the state and then the city to the tune of $175,000, Alcee Hastings who was thrown off the court , and of course supporting a President, who forget the fact that he is unfaithful, was found to have committed perjury

tch, tch, tch, gossip, gossip, gossip.
Sounds so whiny.

Exactly right, Liz.
It couldn't have been said better.

Easy does it girls. Give the worthy Dems a little R&R.
The modicum of protest they put up on the nuclear option issue was only the "dress rehersal rag".
The best is yet to come.

Wow...I find it remarkably ironic that Republicans, after stealing the election in 2000, and slinging thick mud in 2004, have the audacity to whine about Dems. playing dirty in 2006. Especially ironic is the post from JOL, regarding Joe Biden's "plagurism" [sic]. Ironic that (1) you raise this particular issue on Monica Crowley's website and (2) that you obviously plagiarized the spelling of plagiarism from the George Bush manual on colloquial spelling.
peace,

oops; apologies JOL, I meant to attribute the plagiarism quote in my prior post to Liz.

You sure had me itsy-twisty in the wind on that one— racking my head, thinking, when in hell did I write that? I'm 67 and haven't noticed any letters missing from the alphabet yet.
Apology accepted.

The Republicans lost because they suck.
