This Weekend's Show

Just over two weeks of campaigning to go before the 2006 Midterms-- this weekend I'll be talking with two Republicans hoping to become members of the U.S. Senate.  Michael Steele is fighting a tough battle in Maryland, and Tom Kean Jr. is locked in a neck and neck race in New Jersey.   We'll also be talking about the dangerous world we live in, from Iraq to North Korea.  Mark Steyn, author of America Alone will join me.   I hope you'll join me on the radio this weekend!

The Stakes

The Republican Party will begin airing a hard-hitting ad this weekend that warns of more cataclysmic terror attacks against the U.S. homeland.  The ad portrays Osama bin Laden and quotes his threats against America dating to February 1998. "These are the stakes," the ad concludes. "Vote November 7."  The ad shows just how high the stakes really are this year-- WATCH THE AD

This Weekend's Show

As if we needed one more reason not to return these two to the White House-- this week the North Koreans claimed they tested a nuclear weapon.   That's right, the same North Koreans who "promised" the Clinton administration they had no plans to go nuclear, continue to thumb their noses at the world.   This weekend I'll also be talking about that, as well as recent developments in the war on terror.  And so much for the "low morale" in the military that you keep hearing about from the mainstream media.  This week brought good news for military recruitment numbers-- I'll be talking about it all with Bill Carr, Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Military Personnel.

We'll also be talking about the week in politics, with Bill Sammon, Senior White House Correspondent for the Washington Examiner.

Foreign Policy Failure

In October 2000, then Secretary of State Madeleine Albright made a groundbreaking visit to North Korea to work out a missile deal with Kim Jong Il.   The visit touted as a breakthrough toward convincing the country to freeze its nuclear program.   Of course we now know the Koreans were saying one thing, and doing another.  Today, Senator John McCain blasted the Clinton administration for failing to act in the 1990s to stop North Korea.    "I would remind Senator (Hillary) Clinton and other Democrats critical of the Bush administration's policies that the framework agreement her husband's administration negotiated was a failure," McCain said at a news conference after a campaign appearance for Republican Senate candidate Mike Bouchard.   READ MORE

This Weekend's Show

Less than one month until the 2006 midterms, and this weekend we'll be talking politics.   Of course there's the Foley scandal, which has sucked the oxygen out of the room.   How will the mess impact Republican candidates in the fall?  I'll also be joined by New Jersey Senate candidate Tom Kean, Jr., who is facing a tough battle in his state.  Then we'll be talking about the new book by Bob Woodward.  My guest will be Daniel Hendrex, author of A Soldier's Promise.
