Republican Senator John Barrasso gave an interview to the Weekly Standard, in which he expressed dismay over President Obama's unwillingness to negotiate in good faith and with real entitlement and spending reform in the fiscal cliff "talks." (Read his comments here: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/senator-increasingly-clear-obamas-comfortable-going-cliff_664432.html )
Senator Barrasso is a good and decent man and a solid conservative who would like to take real action to put the country on sounder fiscal footing. Unfortunately, the Skinny Socialist in the White House has no intention of meeting him (and other Republicans) halfway...or even one-third of the way. As I posted here yesterday, Obama WANTS to go over the cliff. He almost NEEDS to go over the cliff to move along his "fundamental transformation" of the nation. He is totally ideological. There IS no negotiation to be done. It's his socialist way---or the highway.
This is who he is. I'm surprised and disappointed that so many, including Senator Barrasso, are still so blind to the truth about the man.
You can't deal with him and his ideology unless and until you can see both clearly.
Wake up, Republicans. And as I've said before, grow a pair.
