I read this article today and was floored. It was posted by the Associated Press and was ostensibly supposed to be a "straight news" story about the House voting down President Obama's latest budget proposal. Of course, there's no such thing as "straight news" anymore, if it ever existed.
The bias is so flagrant and obscene that I reprint it here, along with my commentary:
"WASHINGTON (AP) - The Republican-run House has overwhelmingly rejected President Barack Obama's $3.6 trillion budget for next year after a vote forced by GOP lawmakers to embarrass Democrats."
ME: So the vote on the president's budget was meant to "embarrass Democrats"?? It was the leader of THEIR PARTY who advanced this gazillion dollar monstrosity. If they agreed with Obama's spending proposals, they should not have been embarrassed at all to vote on it.
"Republicans have opposed Obama's budget all year, criticizing its tax increases on the wealthy and saying it lacks sufficient spending cuts."
ME: Yes, Republicans HAVE opposed Obama's budgets because they spend us more into oblivion, contain class warfare-based and job-killing tax hikes, and don't cut spending at all.
"Democrats have defended Obama's budget priorities but they largely voted "no" Wednesday night."
ME: Democrats "largely" voted "no" on the budget?? WHAT? The vote against it was UNANIMOUS. Not a single Democrat voted for it.
"Republicans said Democrats were afraid to vote for Obama's proposed tax increases and extra spending for energy and welfare. Democrats said Republicans had forced a vote on a version of Obama's budget that contained only its numbers, not the policies he would use to achieve them."
ME: This is the AP's view of being "fair and balanced:" bash the GOP and make the Democrats look like they just want the best for "the people."
The vote was 414-0.
ME: Finally, the AP gets around to giving you the unanimous vote against Obama's ridiculous budget.
"The vote came as the House debated a GOP budget that contains far more deficit reduction than Obama has proposed."
ME: And finally the AP admits that the GOP budget reduces the deficit while Obama's proposed deficit reduction is mostly smoke and mirrors.
Always, always read and watch CLOSELY what the left-wing media spews. Sometimes they cloak their bias well. Sometimes they let it rip, as they did here. So stay alert. And know what you're being fed.
