he initial idea of higher public education, was this secularization- that attempted to achieve unification of a diverse group through the elimination of their differences, and the embrace of their similarities. This befitted the Commies, who over time, grew arrogant and controlled pools of money that had been given to them to obtain their quietitude. They took this money, thinking it best the government did not spend it any other way.

Rick Santorum is right - there ought to be an embrace of American religious diversity, rather than its elimination.

That being said, I wonder if this issue is elective. After all most issues are not - except contraception and abortion.

Monica was in top form last show on Sunday. The neut was also not bad, judging by the excerpts she played on her show and what he said in the interview.

If only we could believe that he believes what he says!

He had strong statements about the apologizer-in-chief and the need for the warlord karzai to apologize to US for his savages rioting and murdering our troops.

He said that we should leave ASAP and no money for any of these islamist regimes.

It might be nice if we could believe Rick Santorum actually supports the idea of tolerance of religious diversity rather than believing Roman Catholic doctrine should be imposed by force. He has expressed disgust at JFK's promise he would not allow American policy to be dictated by the Pope. Folks who didn't live through that time may find it difficult to grasp that there really was a lot of fear that Catholic politicians had to act as agents of the Pope. That era was only decades after the high tide of the Klan which in the midwest was as much anti-Catholic as anti-black. Santorum is unlikely to appreciate Washington's reverence for the Bible. That was one of the big issues of conflict in the Protestant Reformation, that peasants be allowed access to the Bible rather than its meaning being dictated from higher authority.

Lest we think things today are really different rather than just more visible, it would be good to look back at Dr Benjamin Rush. A devout Christian himself he prevailed on the other founders to make no mention of Christianity in the founding documents because he foresaw that to do so would result in everything being torn apart in fights over whose Christianity was the real Christianity. Notice we have many "Christians" saying Mitt Romney is not really a Christian and the Pope saying our various churches descended from the Protestant Reformation are not real churches.

First of all the level of which the stock market indexes are at don't necessarily reflect the underlying fundamentals or health of the overall economy, the GDP is a much better indicator.

Even though the GDP has been trending upwards during the last year, its still well below its quarterly average.

Now, here's a couple questions for you Rafie:

1) If the Federal Government weren't creating 1.3 trillion USDs out of thin air then pumping it into the economy, (its called deficit spending, Rafie) what do you think the GDP would be doing, growing or shrinking?

2) If the Government continues its > 1 trillion dollar deficit spending for another 5 to 10 years, as Obama proposes, what do think the USD will be worth?

More later.

They first trashed the bill, then took credit for the jobs it created in their states. Many had their photos taken with the check.

An unpartisan group stated that Obama is ONLY responsible for 800 billion of the debt, since he took office.

The Center on Budget an Policy Priorities.

"When Obama entered office, the Bush tax cuts were already in place and two wars were ongoing. Is it fair to blame Obama for war costs four months after he was inaugurated, or tax collections 10 days after he took office?"

"For comparison’s sake, using the same method, beginning in 2001 and ending in 2009, George W. Bush added more than $5 trillion to the deficit. You can see the breakdown in the chart atop the post, or in a larger, more readable, chart here. "

"What is often assumed in this conversation is that all deficit spending is equal and all of it is bad. That’s not the case. Deficit spending when the economy is growing is different from deficit spending when the economy is in crisis."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/post/column-doing-the-math-on-obamas-deficits/2011/08/25/gIQALDBchQ_blog.html

Conservative's response:" Who cares, Obama's in office. Blame him!"

But, if a Democrat had a better economy during his term of office with a GOP president before him?

Conservatves,"It's because of the FORMER GOP president, that made it possible for the Democratic pres to have a better economy. Every Conservative knows that."

jay

Also from that link:

"In two instances, this made Obama’s policies look more costly. First, both Democrats and Republicans tend to think the scheduled expiration of the Bush tax cuts is a quirky budget technicality, and their full extension should be assumed. In that case, voting for their extension looks costless, and they cannot be blamed for the resulting increase in deficits. I consider that a dodge, and so I added Obama’s decision to extend the Bush tax cuts for two years — at a total cost of $620 billion — to his total. If Obama follows through on his promise to extend all the cuts for income under $250,000 in 2013, it will add trillions more to the deficit."

jay

Have noticed that Conservatives look at an issue. Look at who's involved, what was done. And, make the result to be in their favor and blame the other side.

Rafe's post earler is a perfect example:

"This is the bubble they live in. It's hard to get actual facts into this impermeable membrane. They are running against a fictional president. You do bring up some good points though. But I ask you this, why do you think those investments are being done? We do need to reduce spending, granted, but we also need to make investments to secure a better tomorrow for the economy. Thank Bush for the tax cuts and the two wars he got us into...

Our “Scary” President

Less than four months into the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama, Lou Pritchett, a former vice president of Procter and Gamble, posted an open letter to Obama on his blog which began, “Dear President Obama: You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.”

The original missive had been sent by the legendary corporate legend, noted public speaker, author, and teacher to the New York Times which chose not to print it although less distinguished publications did. It was subsequently accorded the seal of accuracy by leftist-leaning Snopes.com and only now has gone viral.

In retrospect, it’s understandable why the Times, a principal MSM Obama lackey, wanted no part of Pritchett’s letter but Obamians predictably came out in force to condemn Pritchett for his stupidity, ignorance, inaccuracies, and venom for daring to express his viewpoints on their Anointed One.

The letter reflects the author’s early and insightful realization that America was in serious trouble with our new leader and commander-in-chief.

Just months into Obama’s tenure, Pritchett noted Obama was unfit for office by virtue of his murky background, lack of experience and qualifications, radical past associations, arrogant sense of omnipotence and omniscience, his demonization of all opponents, and his extreme spending and health care plans which have since come to fruition.

In what is easily the scariest feature of Pritchett’s alarm was citing Obama’s mainstream media for its failure to vet candidate Obama as it had always done with previous presidential hopefuls and, since his election, has given him a free ride, never questioning his motives, never investigating his claims, never doubting his sincerity.

The remainder of Lou Pritchett’s letter follows: (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=15150.)

Ummah,

The deeper point about this hideous psychoparrot: Politics is just a cover for it. I kniow, I know, it seems like such a true believer prog. On a superficial level it probably is. But that's still just the convenient cover for this very sick entity. (Imagine a human being grafted onto its computer, in anonymity, finding a site with no adult supervision. It's (sic)life consists of spamming the site day and night.

The politics is camouflage for what ate this creature up a long timeago, as any shrink can see right away.

His use of Joseph Goebbels in reverse racism is no joke. It's the same thing, but psychodummy realizes the times have changed. Now the Goebbels has to be played in reverse. Not even a sickie like this can inflict itself on others without doing the Goebbels in reverse.

But the main thing for it, above everything else, is to inflict itself, to get attention it can't get in the real world. The politics is just the pogo stick, trying to make its sickness a little less obvious.

Ummah,

This is another example of how the little terrorists work. First they conveniently ignore the fact that Osama was taken down, and could only be taken down, by years of planning and training that happened long before the Obamasuck Media carried their guy into the White House. As for direct terror, Troll X terrorizes by warning conservatives of the unspeakable tortures awaiting them in hell. He has done this relentlessly and constantly, with nary a peep about it from liars such as Jay, who pretend to be against terror.

The psychopath miscreant Jay doesn't just aid and abet terror here. He terrorizes directly by vicious use of the "race" card, perhaps the deadliest weapon in PC America today. His spamming of this site 24/7, day and night, can be analyzed by psychiatry as a psychopath's form of water-boarding.

True, some say that water-boarding is not really torture. But progressives are practically unanimous: It IS torture.

As everybody here knows, this parasite Jay clearly leans progressive. We assume this troll considers conventional waterboarding to be torture. As for his own variation of water-boarding, which he conducts here 24/7. day and night, shall we guess?
