Illinois is being run the way Obama is running the nation. His home state is a microcosm of the country under Obama. With its tax hikes, stifling regulations and astronomical government-union obligations, Illinois just received a credit downgrade. Meanwhile, next door in Wisconsin, Republican Scott Walker led his state through reforms that spurred Moody's to praise the state's budget and give the state a positive outlook. This great news for Wisconsin's taxpayers is being met with a Democrat and union-led effort to recall Walker. His heroic actions to save his state are under assault, as is he. We've got to support Walker---and Kasich and Christie and other Governors who have the cojones to take on the government unions on behalf of their taxpayers, which would be us.
Here is a fantastic editorial on the contrast between Wisconsin and Illinois, published this week by the Wall Street Journal. It's worth reading---and reading again.
The Greece Next Door
Illinois gets a credit downgrade, in contrast to Wisconsin
Wall Street Journal
January 20, 2012
Run up spending and debt, raise taxes in the naming of balancing the budget, but then watch as deficits rise and your credit-rating falls anyway. That's been the sad pattern in Europe, and now it's hitting that mecca of tax-and-spend government known as Illinois.
Though too few noticed, this month Moody's downgraded Illinois state debt to A2 from A1, the lowest among the 50 states. That's worse even than California. The state's cost of borrowing for $800 million of new 10-year general obligation bonds rose to 3.1%-which is 110 basis points higher than the 2% on top-rated 10-year bonds of more financially secure states.
This wasn't supposed to happen. Only a year ago, Governor Pat Quinn and his fellow Democrats raised individual income taxes by 67% and the corporate tax rate by 46%. They did it to raise $7 billion in revenue, as the Governor put it, to "get Illinois back on fiscal sound footing" and improve the state's credit rating.
So much for that. In its downgrade statement, Moody's panned Illinois lawmakers for "a legislative session in which the state took no steps to implement lasting solutions to its severe pension underfunding or to its chronic bill payment delays." An analysis by Bloomberg finds that the assets in the pension fund will only cover "45% of projected liabilities, the least of any state." And-no surprise-in part because the tax increases have caused companies to leave Illinois, the state budget office confesses that as of this month the state still has $6.8 billion in unpaid bills and unaddressed obligations.
It's worth contrasting this grim picture with that of Wisconsin north of the border. Last winter Madison was occupied by thousands of union protesters trying to bully legislators to defeat Republican Governor Scott Walker's plan to require government workers to pay a larger share of their health-plan costs, and to shore up the pension system by trimming future retirement liabilities. The reforms passed anyway.
In contrast to the Illinois downgrade, Moody's has praised Mr. Walker's budget as "credit positive for Wisconsin," adding that the money-saving reforms bring "the state's finances closer to a structural budgetary balance." As a result, Wisconsin jumped in Chief Executive magazine's 2011 ranking of each state's business climate-moving to 17th from 41st. Illinois dropped to 48th from 45th as ranked by the nation's top CEOs.
Yet Mr. Walker, who balanced the budget without new taxes, is the governor facing a union-financed attempt to recall him from office this year. If Wisconsin voters want to see where a state ends up without the kind of reforms that Mr. Walker made, they need only look to the Greece next door.

You’ve had your chance. Your policies have failed. Why don’t you see if Bill Ayers is available to write your memoirs?

MJ, unfortunately I don't think that the man who wrote - or had written for him - not just one, but two, auto-biographies before age 50 is planning to retire even if the American voter finally wakes up and tell him to shove it.
I foresee Bill Ayers writing Barack Obma's acceptance speech for General Secretary of the U.nited. N.azis.
This thoroughly evil man's life's work is not nearly finished. Namely, the destruction of the United States of America.

This is what making cuts means to a GOP-controlled state:
"Arizona reduced its TANF time limit to 24 months, one of the shortest in the country. This change ended benefits for 3,500 low-income families when it was implemented in July 2011; additional families will lose benefits each subsequent month as they reach the 24-month limit. Last year Arizona shortened its time limit from 60 months to 36 months and eliminated the time limit exemption for child-only cases, retroactively subjecting them to the 36-month limit. Arizona's TANF caseload dropped by half over the last year."
Source: Center on budget and policy priorities.
Gov Brewer et al do not give a squirt of piss about those children when their benefits expire.

Gee UG, you sound like one of those violent, extreme, racist Tea Party types. Watch what you say. With the new NDAA now law, the DHS is liable to come and get you.
---------------------------
Why obama is Toast
This just in from the Associated Press:
The Commerce Department said Thursday new-home sales fell last month to a seasonally adjusted annual pace of 307,000. The pace is less than half the 700,000 that economists say must be sold in a healthy economy.
About 302,000 homes were sold last year. That's less than the 323,000 sold in 2010, making 2011 the worst year on records dating back to 1963.
http://news.yahoo.com/home-purchases-fall-2011-worst-ever-sales-152515874.html
This doesn't bode well for the current White House occupant, who's staking his re-election on a two pronged strategy of attacking Republicans and spinning the impression that, thanks to his policies, America's economy is on the right track and on the road to recovery.
Numbers like these certainly won't help him implement the second portion of this strategy. If the trend is up, as the White House, their surrogates in the "progressive" Democratic Party and the "progressive" Party Pravda keep telling us, why were there fewer new homes sold in 2011 than in 2010?
This speaks to the bigger reason why occupy Oval Office's re-election changes are diminishing. People in America are not as stupid as the self appointed, self-imagined "intellectual elite" believe them to be.
Just because a bunch of self interested, self seeking snobs with highfalutin college degrees thumbtacked to their office walls altered the variables in the equation by which inflation rates are calculated doesn't mean that people can't and won't see the truth. Bureaucrats in government can release all the doctored numbers it's possible to cipher, desperately trying to convince people to deny their own cognitive abilities and take what they're being told at face value...that there is no inflation. I guess them there fancy pants geniuses with them there Ivy League deeeegreeeees truly believe that average people, Joe and Josie six pack if you will, don't see the cost of gasoline and food going up when they fill up their cars and go to the grocery store.
The "intellectual elite" keep trying to convince those dummies populating fly over America that thanks to massive big government spending and increased regulation through the stimulus, Dodd/Frank, and obamacare, unemployment numbers are going down and people are finding jobs. If you just happen to be one of the millions of folks who can't find a job, haven't been able to find a job after months or years of searching, live with someone who's experiencing the same dilemma or hear from someone who just lost the good paying job with benefits they'd had for years, you're absolutely, positively, definitely the exception to the rule.
The economic crash of 2008 was the direct result of the failed leadership of George W. Bush and failed Republican policies. The Tea Party is Astroturf. Tea Partiers are violent, extreme racists. The Tea Party spit on us. Occupy Wall Street is legitimate. Occupy Wall Street is a spontaneous grassroots movement. Newt Gingrich can't win a general election. Mitt Romney's a part of the isolated, evil rich 1%. Rick Santorum has no chance.
There’s no doubt about it. We have spoken, you will believe. The world's a safer place! The world's impression of the United States is better now that we're in charge! America's more respected now! Believe us...trust us...we're the smart ones (read: not you). Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. I AM THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ!
Oh brother.

While the Democrats specialize in using union funds to buy political power to bankrupt the States, the Republicans can equal them in the art of buying power via crony capitalists.
The GOP Establishment assault on Newt Gingrich, which I forecast last week, is now underway with a fierce coordinated artillery barrage, from the likes of prestigious "conservatives," suddenly discovered document dumps about Newt badmouthing Ronald Reagan etc. Even old Bob Dole, a classic GOP loser, is chiming in.
Gingrich has an interesting comeback on how the Romney Team, known for its negative venom when the going gets rough (against GOP-ers, of course, they will NEVER take it to Obama like this) funnels and in effect launders crony campitalist money in FLA....
Gingrich argued Romney tries to hide his political history in which he campaigned with a more moderate platform during his Senate and gubernatorial campaigns.
“He is counting on us not having YouTube. That’s how much he thinks we’re stupid, and we’re not stupid,” Gingrich said. “The message we should give Mitt Romney is you know, `We aren’t that stupid and you aren’t that clever’.”
The former speaker conceded the weight of the ads coming from the Romney campaign has hurt his campaign, but sought to remind voters where Romney, who holds stock in Goldman Sachs, gets his money.
“Let’s be really clear, you’re watching ads paid for with the money taken from the people of Florida by companies like Goldman Sachs, recycled back into ads to try to stop you from having a choice in this election,” Gingrich said. “That’s what this is all about.”

Ummah,
The Botox Bolshevik already has walked back her hysterical claim. Gingrich told her to put up or shut up. Her response reported at CNN: It's just an "instinct," I have, that he won't be President. (In other words, she's shutting up, after showing that she doesn't understand the difference between "instinct" and "intuition,"
As for 'Mitt Zombey,' have you considered conacting the Romney camp for what kind of deal they might offer to take that off the market? Maybe DJ can arrange a meeting? It might worry them more than my 'Mandate Mitt'.

WIKIPEDIA////The verb troll originates from Old French troller, a hunting term. The noun troll comes from the Old Norse word for a mythological monster.[7]
In modern English usage, the verb troll is a fishing technique of slowly dragging a lure or baited hook from a moving boat.[8] The word evokes the trolls of Scandinavian folklore and children's tales, where they are often creatures bent on mischief and wickedness.
The contemporary use of the term is alleged to have appeared on the Internet in the late 1980s,[9] but the earliest known example is from 1992]

Does he not represent primarily the interests of finance, as it stand, unapologetically? I might be confused, but do not most people think this group, with bonuses, international corruption and hegemony, offshoring, and outsourcing, and unimaginavble quantities of derivatives bets, leveraged buyouts, junk bonds, and poorly leveraged loaning aside, and account fudging. and loan confuscating, and unbridled insider trading, speculation and machine market-manipulation manipulation, and predatory loaning, and too many hedge funds, and uncontrolled international loaning, and believers in the Laffer curve,
is the problem? Why would the bankers dirty themselves with occupation of the minor throne in Washington? Only because ... they are afraid of a political uprising.. moving to reform banking and restore fairness, move to eliminate unfair mercantilist trade, crammed through our throats without choice? Can money alone sooth Washington's troubled conscience?

Drudge Joins GOP Central's STOP NEWT?
But as conservative supporters of Mr. Gingrich quickly pointed out, the complete video makes it clear that Mr. Gingrich was not criticizing Mr. Reagan’s record, but was rather suggesting that Mr. Bush — like any politician — should look to the future, not the past.
“Cherry-picked quotes, biased headlines and hyperlinks to Newt-hating op-eds in order to patch together an ugly and distorted mosaic of the former House speaker is not journalism,” Matt Barber, a blogger, wrote in a post titled “The Drudge Distort.” He continued, “It’s mercenary-style political prostitution.”
Another blog post declared Thursday to be “Bloody Thursday the Day the Drudge Report Sold Out.”
The writer said, “I have read the Drudge Report daily ever since he broke the Lewinsky story. I have NEVER seen him attack anyone with the volume of coverage and with the venom that he has attacked this Gingrich fellow.”
The blog post concluded, “On this Thursday, this quite bloody Thursday, I can only say, et tu Matt.”
By Thursday evening, Mr. Drudge’s home page again featured a picture of a glum-looking President Obama atop headlines about a worsening situation in Syria and Egypt. But the main headline was still anti-Newt: “NOW DOLE DROPS STINK ON NEWT.”
And many of the headlines on the page continued to question Mr. Gingrich’s credentials as a conservative. “DeLay: Newt ‘not really a conservative’…” said one. “NEWT FLASHBACK 1983: REAGAN RESPONSIBLE FOR NATIONAL ‘DECAY’…” read another.
Rush Limbaugh, on his radio show on Thursday, also took note of the headlines, calling it a “coordinated” effort to smear Mr. Gingrich.
“Now, when I saw all it is stuff — and obviously it’s a coordinated document dump here, opposition research dump. It’s obviously coordinated,” said Mr. Limbaugh, who has not been a fan of Mr. Romney’s in the past.
Whether the conservative backlash against Mr. Drudge has any long-term effect on the Web site is unclear. But at least in the short term, Mr. Drudge’s harsh critique of Mr. Gingrich has stirred up conservatives.

Ultimately it won't matter whether Mandate Mitt's history as a successful corporate raider did more harm than good or more good than harm.
The GOP Establishment is determined to foist him on the electorate and destroy any challenger, especially Gingrich, the savviest of them.
When the Obamunists unleash their total Marxinoid Class War, Mandate Mitt will hardly know what hit him. He will find it's nothing like defending capitalism against Republican rivals, including Newt etc.
Karl Rove and Ann Coulter and loser Bob Dole et al will get their Candidate Willard, and the Obamasuck will get its Perfect Pinyata. Watch how shell-shocked he'll look after just a few weeks of it, as Chicago-trained Barry dances around him like a Marxist Macdaddy can, the mediacks, the corporate croneys, the Union Bosses and the Food Stampers enjoying the spectacle.

The liberals fear Newt, but not Mittens”
When did liberals become politically astute?
Don’t forget – the liberals and the government-controlled media rejoiced, danced in front of the Ark and praised the Lord for the nomination of Reagan.
BTW – never use the word “astute” around Megan McCain. She will think you accused her of farting.

It seems that since the South carolina results that made Gingrich the frontrunner, the establishment media, Fox, drudge, hot air, etc. have coordinated an all out assualt on him to help romneycare. You only need to look at the respective postings.
Now you have to ask why would they want to help romneycare. I do believe they think they know better than us peasants so they are trying to influence the electorite for their choice romneycare.
What drudge, fox, hot air forget is, we will remember, if romneycare gets the nomination and loses to obamasatan because conservative like me stay home, they own this!!!
God, how the GOP establishment sold their principles for a fraud like romneycare.
We need a conservative party and new media w/principle!

"It can hallucinate and shriek with impunity, safe from the real world, with its ultimate mommy." - Gringoman
And you are just skin crawling with envy and buried alive in your jealousy of us and our "Mommy".
The only ones here hallucinating are conservaBorg, and you MOST of all.

Congratulations, Jay!!! You pulled MJFellspam out from under his spamrock and back to the memo! I'd run him off years ago when he ran out of cogent arguments, but it's nice to see him back again with more conservaBorg endless BS talking points.

"Bats is the belfry?
Did you know bats are dying because of wind turbines? Yes, they are, and this is in addition to suffering from "white nose"." - Truther
When it comes down to bats or birds and MANKIND and the PLANET, who do you think is going to win?
AS IF it's impossible to put safety fin diverters that would divert birds and bats harmlessly around the wind turbines and practically keep them from gumming up the works. A problem Detroit solved with its car design decades ago.
Think, man. THINK.

Dear terminal, condemned blasphemer
Go right on spinning that my ignoring your rubbish is you "running me off"...spitballs at a battleship. Never mind the reality that I post on here on an ongoing basis with zero regard for you or your silly, remarks.
Want to see "epic fail"? Look at yourself in the mirror.
I will now leave you and your bosom buddy jay to your collective, terminal "progressive" misery.
Have a nice day.

Gee UG, you sound like one of those violent, extreme, racist Tea Party types. Watch what you say. With the new NDAA now law, the DHS is liable to come and get you.

Why obama is Toast

Looks like one of the simpletons who troll the Memo MISQUOTED your comment above. Libs just can't help themselves. I see nothing but little Goebbelses spewing their propaganda, propaganda they don't even fully understand.
It is true, WE have to watch what we say. Libs will SKEW what we say to fit their propaganda and other needs.
As I've been saying too. The Bama is TOAST. expect their attacks and propaganda to intensify and get even more virulent, coupled with outright public violence in the coming months.
LIEberalism isn't merely a MENTAL DISORDER.
LIEberalism is MASS PSYCHOSIS that seeks to impose itself which explains the affinity with that other totalitarian and ultra-violent ideology aka islam.

As usual, the simpleton IQ BOY posts a comment full of syntax and punctuation errors. In fact it makes more mistakes in five short sentences than I ever though possible.
If Gringoman posted the word TEST and others read it then I don't see how this is proof that his post was canceled.
NAME the post that was canceled, IQ BOY or STFU.

Gringoman, say what you will about Drudge and the Goopers, but the neut is NOT a true Conservative.
But then, neither is Mittens.
Now they are trying to make it look like a "fight" though either of these consummate insiders will be quite acceptable to the Goopers.
What you see there are "Schaukämpfe" ie. panem et circenses for the rubes to make it look as if they're REALLY DUKING IT OUT for the nomination.
Truly worthy of an Oscar or three.

After watching the debate last night, I came away with the distinct impression that Romney is the only candidate left standing that can possibly beat Obama in the general. Any OBJECTIVE observer can clearly see Newt Leroy Gingrich is a trainwreck in the making.
My advice to Newt is drop out of the race, retire from politics, then open up a Duncan Donut shop. America will be much better for it.

Newt Gingrich Is an (Inverted) Boggart!
By Peter Brimelow on January 26, 2012 at 11:38pmy
"Watching the Jan. 26 GOP contenders' debate, it suddenly occurred to me what Newt Gingrich's uncanny ability to resonate with the right, and immigration patriots, in spite of his appalling record, must mean: he's a boggart! Boggarts are shape-shifters, able to assume whatever form they want. But Harry Potter scholars in my family tell me that they typically assume the form of your worst fear—so that, because Gingrich is cleverly saying what the Republican base desperately wants to hear, he must technically be an inverted boggart."
