This is risible. Surely you don't think for one minute that Romney is so naive that he dosen't know exactly what the Obama team has planned for him do you? Of course Romney is entirely ready for the class war. In fact the class war Obama has planned plays right into Romney's strength! Watch!

As for Newt, the Obama team couldn't design and construct a better pinata themselves. Newt as the Gooper nominee would be the best Christmass in November the DemonRATS could ever wish for. Seriously.

Posted by: DJ | January 27, 2012 at 12:06 PM

DJ,

You obviously equate Romney's ego-driven ambition with a true warrior, and Newt's ego-driven ambition with that of a clueless neophyte.

There's a little problem with this. The historical record. If you have any proof that Romney can face the Bolsheviks/Dems any better than other Gooper icons, like McCain, Dole (and to some extent Bush) let's see it.

I'm waiting to see any evidence that this classic Gooper can go at Dems with the kind of ruthlessness he would as a corporate raider or against a GOP rival like Gingrich, who would be utterly swamping him right now if not for Willard's consultants telling Willard what to do and say. Willard has out-spent baaaadass Newt anywhere from 20 to 50 to 1 in negative ads and is still only in a virtual tie with him. And this is what you see as a warrior and standard bearer, a bloodless Corporate Charley with money to spread around? This is what will excite the American people? You're serious?

OMG, where have you been, DJ? Do you even follow the everyday reality? Mitt's handlers don't even let him near the press except in set arrangements. They fear he'll go off script, and he's too stiff anyway, whereas Newt is constantly schmoozing with reporters, freely saying anything he likes, and they like him for that, despite his "war" with the media. They know what a goody goody "zombie" your Mitt is by comparison. Don't take my word for it. Do your research.

Tell me you're not kidding, DJ Tell me you really know how impressive this handsome piece of plastic is.

Newt, au contraire, for all his faults, has been there and done that, and is battle-hardened like Willard never had to be, arguably the most toughened, battered "outsider" of any "insider" in history. You can see only the negs of being an "outsider" who knows Washington inside and out. Others will see the positives, for getting things done. I thought this would be more obvious since the "outsider" Obama parachuted in from Chicago.

But you still think that a GOP Corporate Charley like Romney will take it to the Wall Street Marxists like a Newt Gingrich would?

Yes, I think you do think that.

The record of the GOP against the Class War and race-baiting Dems has taught you nothing. You will still assert that Wall Street Willard will be an exception to the Gooper rule. You don't think that in the general it's going to be cringe after cringe after cringe, do you. Oooh, Willard's consultants finally got him to be "proud" of his wealth, rather than defensive about it yadda blabba.

You find that encouraging, don't you, DJ? A few consultant-driven sound bites. Sound good, yeah! And you think that reveals a "transformation" in the underlying Gooper character of Mitt Romney.

Don't you, DJ?

ps Something that may not have fully sunk in yet, and bears repeating. Romney is tied or slightly ahead of Gingrich right now ONLY because he has out-spent Gingrich by 20 or 50 to 1 in negative ads. Everybody knows that Gingrich was soaring over Romney until they hit him with a gigantic negative ad blitz in Iowa costing millions of dollars which Newt did not have, That is fact. Now let me tell you something, DJ. In the general, there is NO WAY ON EARTH OR HEAVEN that Romney will be able to out-spend Obama 20 or 50 to 1. Got it, DJ? If you don't, do the math---before it's too late. I'm telling what Club Gooper won't tell you.

Politically, the Obama is NOT finished. He is STILL polling way ahead of Romney and much farther ahead of Gingrich nationwide.

The only way the Obama can be "finished" is by one of you nutcases doing what nutcases always end up doing.

Looked up the IQs mong presidents.

Noticed how they all had far more Democratic ones at the top. Clinton, Carter, JFK,etc The lowest were Reagan and both Bushs.

Using the Swanson/Crain System of intelligence ranking

jay

The six Republican presidents of the past 60 years had an average IQ of 115.5, with President Nixon having the highest IQ, at 155. President G. W. Bush was rated the lowest of all the Republicans with an IQ of 91.

The six Democrat presidents had IQs with an average of 156, with President Clinton having the highest IQ, at 182. President Lyndon B. Johnson was rated the lowest of all the Democrats with an IQ of 126.

http://www.infowars.com/articles/bush/presidential_iq_report.htm

So, the LOWEST democrat president, LBJ with an IQ of 126, did BETTER than the average for the REpbulicans 115.5

that's not very surprising!

WIKIPEDIA////The verb troll originates from Old French troller, a hunting term. The noun troll comes from the Old Norse word for a mythological monster.[7]

In modern English usage, the verb troll is a fishing technique of slowly dragging a lure or baited hook from a moving boat.[8] The word evokes the trolls of Scandinavian folklore and children's tales, where they are often creatures bent on mischief and wickedness.

The contemporary use of the term is alleged to have appeared on the Internet in the late 1980s,[9] but the earliest known example is from 1992

Suggestion. Rational dialogue demands specifics. Otherwise it's like saying "Hey, you willingly choose to ignore BAGOOZLE! I don't see how you can do that!"

DJ, you're not trying to make a case for BAGOOZLE, are you?

Re ST Augustine, you say it doesn't equate with "leftist mind set." I don't think it does necessarily, either. So let's drop the "leftist" aspect of St Augustine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as a Catholic you recognize that Augustine--born in North Africa a few hundred years A.D.--was a great sinner who eventually reformed, repented and was embraced by the Church with forgiveness. Yet when it comes to Newt Gingrich, now a grandfather, no longer gallivanting as he once was, even converting to Catholicism, you seem to consider him a continuing reprobate, unworthy of forgiveness and redemption. What's going on here, DJ? BTW, I'm not comparing Gingrich with Augustine. For one thing, it's doubtful that Gingrich was as great a sinner as Augustine in his youth. But I wonder how a Catholic rationalizes a refusal to be a Catholic to Newt Gingrich.

You say that I conveniently changed the subject. I thought the subject was 'Do Candidates Lie'. Now I see you wanted to limit it to 'Did Newt Lie'? Oh, now I get it, DJ. Adding the clearly related matter, 'Does Mitt Lie' would be off-topic for you. Oh, Ok. You should have made that clearer, DJ. That way I could have realized how unfair it was to cite a vivid example of how your "Character Boy" Mitt, was caught in a bald-faced lie in the middle of a nationally televised debate, when CNN fact-checked his lie that he didn't know anything about the pac that smeared Newt with allegedly calling Spanish "the language of the ghetto." CNN produced the video with smear of Newt, with the voice-over, "I'm Mitt Romney, and I approve this message."

My bad, DJ. I should have realized that proving Mitt to be a bald-faced liar on national TV was "off-topic" for you, and for CHARACTER MATTERS.

Hey DJ,

Do you think Sarah Palin and the Reverend Wildmon need some tutoring on how CHARACTER MATTERS? Might Club Gooper try to help them?

Breaking News from Newsmax.com

Rev. Wildmon: Palin Is Right, Newt Being 'Crucified'

One of the nation's most influential Christian and family leaders, the Rev. Donald E. Wildmon, says Sarah Palin is right, Newt Gingrich is being "crucified" by the Republican establishment and forces allied with Mitt Romney.

Wildmon, founder of the American Family Association, has strongly endorsed Gingrich for president, and this week has been urging fellow believers to vote in Florida's primary for the former House Speaker.

Wildmon has spent decades on the front-lines of the battle to protect American families and says Gingrich is the best choice for Christian conservatives who want a president to stand against a rising tide of secularism and anti-Christian sentiment.

On Thursday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin stated on the Fox Business channel: "Look at Newt Gingrich, what's going on with him via the establishment's attacks. They're trying to crucify this man and rewrite history and rewrite what it is that he has stood for all these years.”

In an interview with Newsmax Friday, Wildmon told Newsmax “That’s very tough language. But I think it’s probably pretty accurate.”

Wildmon said Gingrich is up against entrenched political forces who are “absolutely” trying to dictate who wins the GOP nomination.

“The mainstream media and the established Republicans would rather have anybody than Newt,” Wildmon said. “This is what really worries them. [Thursday] they went on a rampage, got five or six well known people, former colleagues of his, criticizing him. They’re going after him. That’s going to be his biggest obstacle to overcome.”

Asked why he didn’t endorse former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, as have several other Christian leaders, Wildmon replied: “You’re basically going to vote for the man you think can do the best job. I believe that Newt, of all the candidates, can do a better job of getting the country back to where it’s supposed to be.”

Wildmon has also stated that Gingrich passes two key criteria: he's the only candidate who can defeat both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

Rev. Wildmon is aware that some have criticized Gingrich for his personal life and "baggage."

But Wildmon says he has met privately with Gingrich and believes he is a changed man and has accepted Christ as his savior.

“I think it’s genuine and sincere,” Wildmon told Newsmax, “Only Newt and God know his heart. But by every visible aspect, I think it’s genuine.”

Wildmon also expressed grave doubts about the strength of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s commitment to social issues that Christians care about.

Wildmon asserted that Romney "will not be reliable. Romney is Obama-lite.”

The conservative family advocate said the stakes in the 2012 election are huge. “If we lose this race,” he said, “if Mr. Obama gets a second term, or if Mr. Romney gets in, it’s the end of Western civilization as we know it.”

Wildmon added that he gives the former House Speaker a 50-50 chance of winning the nomination, due to the powerful establishment interests arrayed against him.

Rush: Romney Camp Behind Anti-Gingrich Stories

Friday, 27 Jan 2012 02:07 PM

By Amy Woods

On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh highlighted an article in The American Spectator by Jeffrey Lord that picked apart and called misleading Elliot Abrams’ article in National Review about Newt Gingrich.

The article prompted Limbaugh to conclude Abrams must have been “spoon-fed” the material about Gingrich’s after-hours speeches on the House floor in the 1980s by rival Mitt Romney’s campaign.

“Jeffery Lord, like me, didn’t understand all this stuff with Newt yesterday,” the conservative pundit said, referring to a series of stories that ran earlier in the week casting Gingrich in a negative light for his anti-Ronald Reagan remarks while a young representative.

Abrams’ article is “devastating” to the Republican presidential candidate, Limbaugh said Thursday.

“It seems like Elliott Abrams has been had,” he said. “I’m just going to have to assume here that Elliott Abrams was spoon-fed this stuff by the Romney people. This is a stunning piece, but the genie’s out of the bottle. You can’t put all this back in the bottle now.”

////Mark Levin: Gingrich Is Strong Conservative

Friday, 27 Jan 2012 11:25 AM

By Dan Weil
Conservative talk radio star Mark Levin offered a passionate defense of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich on his show Thursday.

Levin was upset at recent attacks against the former House speaker by GOP pundits on the Internet and by Republican politicians in various public forums.

“If this is what the conservative movement has come to, then count me out,” Levin said. “I am not a special pleader for Gingrich. Newt Gingrich and I aren’t friends. We aren’t even acquaintances.”

But Levin took issue with those who cite a TV interview from 1988 as evidence that Gingrich broke from former President Ronald Reagan. “Newt Gingrich didn’t trash Ronald Reagan,” Levin said. “He said going forward we need tactical changes from the Reagan era, not changes in principle, not that we shouldn’t promote Reagan.”

Levin then played an audio clip from the interview to prove his point. “Reaganism is a value system which carried 49 states last time [in the 1984 election],” Gingrich said. “It’s fairly inclusive, more than just a personality issue.”

MARK LEVIN GIVES IT TO THE GOOPERS

Republicans must remember that Gingrich was the first GOP speaker of the House in almost 50 years, Levin said. “He was fighting Democrats to win the House of Representatives before most of the people trashing him on the Internet were old enough to wipe themselves ... before most of the commentators on TV were switching from Democrats to Republicans.”

It’s OK to criticize Gingrich, Levin said. “But don’t count me among those who are going to destroy the man,” he continued. “You can disagree with the man on substance, but don’t turn him into some Marxist, Reagan-hating mental case, because he’s not.”

Levin is particularly angry with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, an aggressive Romney supporter. “I was appalled when the two-year governor of New Jersey, who has done absolutely zero for the conservative movement, gets on TV and regurgitates all the ethical bull crap thrown at Newt Gingrich when he was speaker of the House.”
