What is he doing?

Yesterday, following the massacre of 13 U.S. servicemen and civilians at Fort Hood, the Commander in Chief took to the podium. The nation waited for him to speak somberly and solemnly about the murders of soldiers under his command---murders carried out by a suspected Islamic terrorits. We waited. And waited. And waited. Instead of offering the nation and the military immediate words of comfort, the President gave us three minutes of "shout-outs" to his buddies. When he finally got around to commenting on the slaughter, he was strangely disconnected and unemotional. Perhaps Hussein felt a pang or two of sympathy not for the dead and injured soldiers, but for Hasan, the killer? Just asking.

Today, we get a stunning new unemployment rate: 10.2%. This is the highest rate in over 26 years, and was supposed to be avoided by all of the visionary economic leadership of the White House and Congressional Democrats, who passed in February a "stimulus" aimed at keeping the rate to 8%.

The president is AWOL on the biggest issues: the economy and the Islamic terror threat.

What is he doing?

On the presidential schedule this week (like every weekend): two hours of hoops, and five hours of golf. Glad he's enjoying himself.

Daniel Pearl was decapitated, already dead, by US special ops and/or Mossad.

This is rather unbelievable. Did the brother never watch any of his predecessors make these kinds of statements. Given the mismatch between the two events, didn’t anyone think that Obama should have made two separate statements so as not to mix the moods?

For all the talk about how bright Obama is and how bright his staff is, these people continually make one dumb mistake after another. Geez, how hard is it to figure out that tragedies and shout out don’t mix!

The hero cop who ended the bloody rampage at Fort Hood had been directing traffic moments before she confronted the gunman and pumped four bullets into him despite being shot herself.

Civilian police Sgt. Kimberly Munley and her partner responded within three minutes of reported gunfire Thursday afternoon, Lt. Gen. Bob Cone said Friday.

Munley, who had been trained in active-response tactics, rushed into the building and confronted the shooter as he was turning a corner, Cone said.

"It was an amazing and an aggressive performance by this police officer," Cone said.
