This is rich.

You don't suppose that the fact of Daniel Hannan being born in Peru would have anything to do with the prospects of his continued tenure as a memner of the european parliment?
So MM is looking for real cojones, latin cajones, to festoon on the BB's which Republican's keep in their pockets, Peru is as good a spot as any.
Hannon did give Brown a drubbing in Strasbourg.
Theatre.
Today Hannon is the darling of conservatives who in the young peruvian have found cajones, but no counterproposal. I would agree that stable continued economice growth comes through industrialization and not thur speculative finance, but then again what conservative in Britain or America, for that matter, doesn't have his nose up a financier's arse?

(Monica)He is adding $9.3 TRILLION to the national debt over the next 10 years
------------------------------
The Democrats cried and moaned for years about Bush spending the so called "surplus" from the Clinton years and then running the deficit up to a whopping $400 billion dollars/year. Now they don't blink an eye at a $trillion dollar a year deficit for the next 10 years. One of their main issues in the 2006 election was the "bridge to nowhere" and earmarks, and they were able to take back control of Congress with that campaign. And what did they do about earmarks? There response is we won the election so bug off.

Why don't these morons care? Because they care more about their socialist agenda and the complete takeover of American industry, education, health care and every other aspect of American life. One of the idiots even recently proposed bailing out the Newspapers and taking them over.

And then let's talk a little about foreign policy, which Monica is an expert in. How about our new foreign policy that doesn't mention the war on terror. The war on terror has been turned over to our US Attorneys and law enforcement. Osama B. Ladin can sleep well a night these days knowing that America has cojoneless President and Congress.

And how about our borders. Nancy Peloser rants and raves about stopping all enforcement of illegals as she demands that stop immediately. As many of us said before the election, a Democratic controlled Congress and White House means open borders (aka: no borders).

Our long national nightmare has just begun. Our only hope is the 2010 election and the hope that some of the socialists will be voted out of office then.

Andy from Beaverton

From the Congressional Budget Office:
https://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/100xx/doc10014/03-20-PresidentBudget.pdf
"CBO now estimates that the deficit would total almost $1.7 trillion (11.9 percent of gross domestic product, or GDP) this year and $1.1 trillion (7.9 percent of GDP) next year—the largest deficits as a share of GDP since 1945."

It is even worse than the CBO estimates.
This data is from the Treasury:
https://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLogin?application=np

1/20/09 $10,626,877,048,913.10
3/25/09 $11,037,916,881,157.83

The first 65 days of debt since coming in office:
$411,039,832,244.70

Projecting this debt over a year:
((Mar 25 debt - Jan 20 debt)/65)x365

B. H. Obama debt from 1/20/09 to 1/20/10
$2,344,211,543,270.56

G. W. Bush debt from 1/20/08 to 1/20/09
$1,438,236,760,982.71

There's the $1 trillion in extra spending Obama promised us.

Bush's last year really isn't as bad as it looks. If you don't count the Intragovernmental Debt (govt. loaning itself money from SS, medicare and so on):
G. W. Bush public debt from 1/20/08 to 1/20/09
$1,211,103,755,318.73

Because of higher unemployment, there are no longer surpluses from intragovernmental holdings paid into budget. Now, this account is needing money from federal income taxes. It explains why intragovernmental holdings haved been getting smaller.

THE LOOTING OF OUR NATIONAL TREASURE: The Democrats are using our national economic crisis to loot our national treasury, just like old fashioned looters use a national disaster and peoples grief to loot their homes and businesses. They have said it over and over, and Obama said it himself that that need to use the current crisis to pass their leftwing agenda. They don't deny that fact. While America is suffering from a bad recession and the American people are hurting, they use this opportunity to pull one of the biggest Ponzi Schemes in American history. Looters are lowlife bottom feeders who take advantage of other peoples disaster to steal, loot, and embezzle anything they can get their hands on.

Boria

Monica:
Today you made fun of Obama and his "O-B-Giny." When I told my wife, she responded that he got it from Michelle. Apparently women say O-B-G-Y-N or Giny interchangeably.
He apparently fumbled it when he tried to combine the two.
You are right, had W said anything like that the press would have pounced on him before the press conference/web townhall was over...
I recall W saying "Too many O-B-G-Y-Ns are not able to practice their love with women all across this Country." That's funny no matter who says it. And I've said funny things too: "Shoot the fat" and "chew the sh!t" are only 2 of them...
The best policy is for men to stay away from "women's" vernacular whilst in public.
Cheers!

Why be a conservative?
By Christopher S. Brownwell

https://www.americanthinker.com/2009/03/why_be_a_conservative.html

Our Constitution is a document of enumerated powers. This document gives our federal government only such powers necessary to protect our liberty from an unruly mob. To control itself, government must be small and government authority must be separated and restrained by checks and balances. The bigger our government grows and the more centralized government authority gets the more we lose our liberty.

16 Signs That You Live In A Tyranny

https://listverse.com/politics/16-signs-that-you-live-in-a-tyranny/

Tyranny is an important phenomenon that operates by principles by which it can be recognized in its early emerging stages, and, if the people are vigilant, prepared, and committed to liberty, countered before it becomes entrenched. The methods used to overthrow a constitutional order and establish a tyranny are well-known. However, despite this awareness, it is surprising how those who have no intention of perpetrating a tyranny can slip into these methods and bring about a tyranny despite their best intentions. Tyranny does not have to be deliberate. Tyrants can fool themselves as thoroughly as they fool everyone else. Here are the top 16 signs that you are living in a tyranny or heading that way.

EDITORIAL: The U.N. tackles religion

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/mar/27/the-un-tackles-religion/

Will the United Nations soon be issuing fatwas? Today the U.N. Human Rights Council is expected to vote on a resolution introduced by Pakistan on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to combat defamation of religion, in particular Islam. This resolution is part of an effort begun in 1999 to establish an international framework that would in practice legitimize religious oppression. It is an assault on the rights of the individual and freedom of conscience.

The language of the resolution seems benign enough, condemning stereotyping, inflammatory statements and so forth. But very troubling is the elasticity of the term "defamation." It is used to silence social critics and other liberal voices in countries where the law is captive of the official religion. "Anti-blasphemy" statutes in Shariah-based legal systems squelch debate over the rights of women, the right to free speech and expression, privacy, criminal justice and a variety of other off-limits issues. This U.N. resolution would give further international sanction to every authoritarian regime that hides its oppression behind the veil of faith.

The OIC also plans to introduce binding resolutions that will require states to punish religious defamers. In practice this could target almost anyone with an opinion. Recent experience has shown that, particularly in the Muslim world, almost any comment can be tarred as defamatory and incite fatal violence. Publication of caricatures of Mohammed in the Danish Jyllands-Poste in 2005 sparked riots. Salman Rushdie was threatened with death for discussing irregularities in the history of the Koran in his novel . There were even protests in 1963 when U.S. Ambassador to India John Kenneth Galbraith named his family cat "Ahmed," one of the forms of the name "Mohammed."

It is fully appropriate for the public, the media, and even in some cases public officials to speak out if they feel speech or actions defame faith. But the OIC wants to establish an international framework for punitive government action against even legitimate criticism of religion. This is a dangerous evolution of international law wholly at odds with the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which enshrined the individual's "right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion" including "freedom to change his religion or belief" and to publicly "manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance." However according to the OIC's 1990 Cairo Declaration, any such rights are ultimately "subject to the Islamic Shariah."

Islam is the only religion mentioned in the OIC resolution, and can profitably be examined under the proposal's criteria. The resolution decries "negative stereotyping and defamation of religions." But the Koran and other Muslim holy works are rife with defamatory comments about Jews, Christians, pagans and other "apes and swine." The resolution deplores "all acts of psychological and physical violence and assaults."

But missionaries and converts are subjected to death sentences in many Shariah-based legal systems. The resolution condemns the type of "defamation of religion and incitement to religious hatred." But this would be familiar to anyone in the region when the talk turns to Israel, India or the West. By all means, let us apply these standards to some of the member states of the OIC and make an honest accounting of the true sources of intolerance.

MJFELL, Thanks for making my day with your list of 16 Signs we are Living in a TYRANNY.

Since it appears that we are almost if not totally there, the question becomes how do we wriggle out of this dismal situation. Is a Supreme Court decision declaring O'Bama's authentic "birth certificate" is from Kenya, Indonesia, or Dublin our only hope?

Is our Tyranny doomed to the same fate as bombed out Europe after the end of WW2? Gathering militaristic forces around the world who hate us may imply this to some.

Checkers

Yesterday's rant by Daniel Hannan, a British member of the European Parliament, definately said it all as it applies here in the USA!

If O'Bama were sincere, he would be directing the spending on issues that produce a future return to all taxpayers like expanding domestic nuclear energy production capacity and converting the government's transportation fleet to plentiful natural gas which could make a significant difference in our energy mix, rather than "investments" (ie. spending) in Solar and Wind power generation which at best if capacity were doubled would only contribute 2% of our energy needs. So right away we know O'Bama's plan is a payoff to THE GREEN LOBBY not in the interests of all of us - his plan keeps us dependant on foreign oil imports.

Are Republicans truly in opposition to the Obamanation? You don't get a sense that it's all really blather, packaged of course with "conservative" talking points? Do these seem like men to you, or modified castrati, barking like nice doggies at the slithering reptiles?

If the Republicans, while claiming to "oppose" the former Barry Soetoro, will not even take seriously the US Constitution and the question of a POTUS born with dual citizenship---and at a time when the socialist overthrow of American freedom is in the air---why should anyone take the Republicans seriously? Our Monica has no choice, but she's just one girl with a dream.

modified castrati, barking like nice doggies at the slithering reptiles!
