Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Monica Crowley !!

Let us hope we'll have opportunity to say the same things within the same venue a year from now.

Christian Drappi

Happy thanksgiving to you and your family Monica. Also, happy thanksgiving to all of you followers as well.

Monica---

Here's wishing you a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving! May God continue to bless and safeguard our freedoms.

Stop Obama's amnesty and citizenship plans for the tens of millions of illegal aliens swarming across this country!
Stop Obama's adding these millions upon millions of illegal aliens to his planned national healthcare system that will drive our country even DEEPER INTO DEBT!

Donate as much money as you can to the candidicy of:

Walter Moore for Mayor of Los Angeles.

Walter Moore has already raised enough money to qualilfy for matching funds, so every dollar you donate will automatically be doubled.

http://web.mac.com/waltermoore/WalterMooreForMayor/Home.html

Antonio Villaraigosa, the current Mayor of Los Angeles, was among those standing behind Obama during his very first press conference after the election.

Villaraigosa is also one of the most pro-illegal invasionist in the entire country. His sanctuary city policies have resulted in Los Angeles becoming a cesspool of gangs, graffitti and violence.

There are as many as thirty to fourty illegals at a time crammed in garages where the doors and windows are locked shut from the outside to prevent their escaping from the "human trafficers" (aka smugglers or coyotes).

The freeways and streets are clogged with unregistered and uninsured vehicles driven by illegal aliens going to jobs where they're paid with under the table, untaxed cash.

You should never have to press one for English when you call the Mayor's office within the United States of America.

As Mayor of the second largest city in the United States, Villaraigosa's a very high visibility politician.

A defeat of Villaraigosa in the March 2009 mayoral election will send an unmistakable message to Representatives in the House, Senators and the newly sworn in Barack Obama that AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS IS OPPOSED BY AMERICAN CITIZENS and will only come at the ultimate political price...their being kicked out of office!

Donate as much money as you can to the candidicy of Walter Moore for Mayor of Los Angeles.

As the Indians continue to battle the terrorists who staged a ruthless attack yesterday in India I am thankful that America hasn't been attacked since 091101. Most of the thanks for that goes to George W. Bush (as Monica so rightly pointed out). Bush has put Al Qaeda on the run and although the leftie media has completely ignored that fact the truth cannot be hidden. As we witness the current attack in India, we should be thankful we have a President (at least until January 20) who has the guts to take the fight to the enemy.

FK

They haven't had to attack us here. We sent them plenty of bodies to attack over there.

I'd be more grateful to Bush if he hadn't handled the fight against terrorism incompetently.

I'm thankful we're about to get a president who can put two words together.

--------------------------------------

Fred, those "plenty of bodies" were American soldiers fighting the enemy over there instead of them conducting attacks on US soil like the attacks going on right now in India. It's unfortunate that many on the left like you consider our troops just "plenty of bodies".

And while you are here Fred, you have been moaning for a long time now about the amount of money we are spending in Iraq, but you seem to have nothing to say about the hundreds of billions we are spending on these bailout packages. Your Democratic Party is now willing to spend an additional $700 billions dollars on another package bringing the budget deficit up to around $2 trillion dollars for the year. And you guys were supposed to be the fiscal conservatives, at least that is what you run on in 2006 and 2008. Was all that just bs to get elected?

President George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation, October 3, 1789 (h/t Americasright)

On a day where the news is filled with terror and sorrow from halfway across the world, I hope you can find happiness and solitude in family and friends.

Please think of those serving us overseas today, and their wonderful and loving families back here at home.

A very Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from the Schreiber family.

WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANKSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

NOW THEREFORE, I do recommend and assign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed;-- for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish Constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted;-- for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge;-- and, in general, for all the great and various favours which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also, that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions;-- to enable us all, whether in publick or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us); and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New-York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.

MIDDLE CLASS GUY said... (from Americasright.com)

I understand why the left wing radical media refuses to cover the story. I do not understand why the traditional American media is not reporting. Silence from Limbaugh, Hannity, and the FNC. I have seen some blog entries on Hannity’s forum scrubbed. I do not buy the story that they are afraid of the Dan Rather effect. That was Dan and his cronies making up their own story because they were unable to find any legitimate verification of what they wanted people to believe. However, the people that reported on the Rather crocumentary were not open to criticism for merely reporting on a story broken by another news source. It would be perfectly legitimate to report the fact that there are cases pending in the courts questioning Obama’s eligibility without opining on the merits of the case. It seems almost irresponsible not to report on this matter. I just read on another blog that a person was complaining that her input and all other reader input regarding this matter was scrubbed from the Real Clear Politics web site. I do not know if that is true or not. It is almost scary the way this story is being kept quiet.

I do notice that not one of the people who come here and criticize those of us who believe that Obama or any candidate seeking to be the POTUS should have to provide the necessary documents to prove that they are constitutionally qualified has an explanation for why Obama refuses to put an end to all of this by simply displaying the proper documents. There is no sane reason for not complying if he is able to. The longer he refuses to pay big bucks to teams of lawyers and wasting the courts time to fight this issue on technicalities trying to avoid showing a real BC the more any sensible observer is going to lean toward the conclusion that he is unable to prove his eligibility or that he is not right in the head.

Some authors, such as Vilfredo Pareto, Gaetano Mosca, Thomas R. Dye, and Robert Michels, believe that any political system eventually evolves into an oligarchy.

This theory is called the "iron law of oligarchy".

According to this school of thought, modern democracies should be considered as elected oligarchies.

In these systems, actual differences between viable political rivals are small, the oligarchic elite impose strict limits on what constitutes an 'acceptable' and 'respectable' political position, and politicians' careers depend heavily on unelected economic and media elites. (h/t Americasright)

I think that the BC is a red herring...at the last possible moment Obama will produce it and show he was born in Hawaii and then no one will dare to raise any other questions about him. BUT the bigger issue remains...whether he became an Indonesian citizen when he lived there with his mother and step-father. Did he travel to Pakistan on an Indonesian passport? Did he attend schools in the US as a foreign national? I am far more interested in his activities from ages 18-28 and want to know why NO records exist about his time at Occidental, Columbia, etc...NO medical records...no discussion of his influence on Kenyan elections! I think that he is playing a game of chicken by distracting everyone with the birth certificate issue and making all of the other, more serious, things fade into the background!

Steveok --

I phrased my post the way I did to illustrate how al Qaeda feels about our troops. I would have preferred NOT to send them to Iraq at all. I was against the war from the beginning. We should have been hunting down al Qaeda instead of invading a country that did not attack us, which we had under control, and where al Qaeda did not have influence. It's a shame that when they were sent over there, the troops were NOT fighting our real enemies.

My problem with the Iraq War goes beyond the money that was wasted there.

Don't assume how I feel based on what I DON'T say. I'm not sure what the best way to deal with this economic crisis. But I see fault on the part of both parties with how we got here.

The Democrats certainly DO have a proved track record of reform:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

and as Monica pointed out, accomplisment:

"6. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Under her two-year-long "leadership," Democrats haven't done anything they'd pledged to do in 2006: end the war in Iraq, stop funding for the war, stop the president's terrorist surveillance program, and on and on. Thank goodness she is such a dingbat. She got a new majority this year and a Democratic president, but she's such a screw-up that she constantly sets a new standard for legislative incompetence. For being a nitwit: thank you."

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for a new President who will address the issue of global warming (climate change, if you prefer UG) unlike the past administration, which has chosen to ignore & even SUPPRESS scientific findings for political reasons, to protect the coal & oil industries, power plants & big business.

Cheney's Staff Cut Testimony On Warming

Members of Vice President Cheney's staff censored congressional testimony by a top federal official about health threats posed by global warming, a former Environmental Protection Agency official said yesterday.

The Secret Campaign of President Bush's Administration To Deny Global Warming

"...Cheney's statements were the latest move in the Bush administration's ongoing strategy to block federal action on global warming. It is no secret that industry-connected appointees within the White House have worked actively to distort the findings of federal climate scientists, playing down the threat of climate change. But a new investigation by Rolling Stone reveals that those distortions were sanctioned at the highest levels of our government, in a policy formulated by the vice president, implemented by the White House Council on Environmental Quality and enforced by none other than Karl Rove. An examination of thousands of pages of internal documents that the White House has been forced to relinquish under the Freedom of Information Act - as well as interviews with more than a dozen current and former administration scientists and climate-policy officials - confirms that the White House has implemented an industry-formulated disinformation campaign designed to actively mislead the American public on global warming and to forestall limits on climate polluters.

Bush administration blocks report linking hurricanes to global warming

The Bush administration blocked release of a report suggesting that global warming is contributing to the frequency and strength of hurricanes, the journal Nature reported Tuesday.

According to Nature, a panel of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists drafted a February report that linked recent hurricane activity to human-induced climate change. When the study was scheduled to be released in May, officials at the Commerce Department rejected the report on technical grounds and prohibited its publication.

Nature quoted NOAA Administrator Conrad Lautenbacher as saying the report could not be released because the agency could not take an official position on the contentious issue. However, the journal said the study did not contain any policy statements and was simply a discussion of the current state of hurricane science.

The case isn't the first time the Bush administration has riled scientists. The Union of Concerned Scientists, a body of more than 100,000 citizens and scientists, has frequently criticized the administration on what it calls the "misuse of science".

Global warming to stave off next Ice Age

According to the study, the next Ice Age is due between 10,000 and 100,000 years from now - but global warming may step in to prevent it. Scheduled shifts in Earth's orbit are due to plunge the planet into an Ice Age perhaps 10,000 years from now, but the event may be averted by man-made greenhouse gases, say scientists.

They caution, though, in a study reporting the find in the British journal Nature, that this news is not an argument in favour of global warming, which is driving imminent and potentially far-reaching damage to the climate system.

Bush Administration: global warming is real and a threat to the U.S. economy
http://news.mongabay.com/2008/0530-bush.html

The Bush Administration today released a court-ordered assessment on climate. The report — titled "Scientific Assessment of the Effects of Global Change on the United States" — says human-driven climate change will damage ecosystems and pose challenges to key sectors of the U.S. economy including agriculture and energy.

Based largely on recent reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Scientific Assessment says that climate change is "very likely" due to human activities — a conclusion seemingly at odds with the administration's long-standing position on the issue.

"[M]ost of the recent global warming is very likely due to human generated increases in greenhouse gas concentrations," the report states. "[E]missions of carbon dioxide from fossil fuel use and from the effects of land use change are the primary sources of this increase."

...The new report comes after the Bush administration was ordered last August by Federal District Court Judge Saundra Armstrong to publish an updated research plan and national assessment on climate change. By law the White House is required to publish such a report every four years, yet until now the current administration had failed to do so since it took office. The previous National Assessment was issued in late 2000 under the Clinton administration.

Bush Administration efforts to stall the report were brought to national attention in April 2005 when, at the request of Senators John Kerry and John McCain, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigated the Bush administration's failure to produce a 2004 National Assessment. The GAO concluded 1) the administration "did not submit a scientific assessment in November 2004, 4 years after the previous assessment, as required by the [Global Change Research] act," 2) the administration expressly refuses to complete a single National Assessment, and 3) the White House's piecemeal approach lacks an "explicit plan for... assessing the effects of global change on the eight areas enumerated in the act: the natural environment, agriculture, energy production and use, land and water resources, transportation, human health and welfare, human social systems, and biological diversity."

Michael's legalese-spouter also has an old shyster's habit of trying to demean the many critiques of his Obama's "natural born citizen" fraud.
He singles out some a propos but anonymous comments I post from the Internet, while ignoring all the comments I post from named and verified attorneys who are far, far more educated and cogent and principled and honest than Michael's Dimbo with the phoney GW name.

Do you think Dim's patron and admirer, Michael Avari, might finally agree to take him "home" and feed him a taco de cesos? Beef brains might help, no?

Kenya: 'I don't know' if Obama born in U.S.
Ambassador suggests question be put to American government

Ambassador Peter Ogego

Kenyan Ambassador Peter N.R.O. Ogego is saying he's "infuriated" by a radio program's efforts to "misquote" him on the subject of President-elect Barack Obama's birthplace – but he refused to confirm whether Obama was born in the United States.

In an exclusive interview with WND today, Ogego was specifically asked whether Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen.

"I don't know," he said with a tone of irritation. "You should ask your government. I know his father is Kenyan."

He continued with a rhetorical question: "Obama is an American, isn't he?"

Sign the petition to insist on release of birth certificate.

On Nov. 6, only two days after the election, Detroit radio talk-show hosts Mike Clark, Trudi Daniels and Marc Fellhauer on WRIF's "Mike In The Morning" called the Embassy of Kenya in Washington, D.C., to speak with Ambassador Ogego.

Hear the Kenyan ambassador's interview with WRIF radio

The interview with the Kenyan ambassador was widely publicized after he called President-elect Barack Obama's Kenyan birthplace a "well-known" attraction:

Clark: "We want to congratulate you on Barack Obama, our new president, and you must be very proud."

Ogego: "We are. We are. We are also proud of the U.S. for having made history as well."

Fellhauer: "One more quick question, President-elect Obama's birthplace over in Kenya, is that going to be a national spot to go visit, where he was born?"

Ogego: "It's already an attraction. His paternal grandmother is still alive."

Fellhauer: "His birthplace, they'll put up a marker there?"

Ogego: "It would depend on the government. It's already well known."

Now Ogego is saying the hosts misquoted and edited the audio recording of his comments.

"I'm already infuriated by the whole thing," he said. "The radio itself had a cynicism to it. I didn't mind that, but to misquote me is unacceptable. They are circulating misinformation regarding Mr. Obama's birthplace."

However, WRIF's Mike Clark told WND the show never manipulated the audio recording in any way.

"I can assure you that nothing was edited or stated out of context," he said.

Nonetheless, Ogego insisted he was speaking about Barack Obama Sr., and not President-elect Obama.

"They asked me about Obama's father, not Obama," Ogego said. "This is common-sense knowledge. Nobody is fooling anybody."

(Story continues below)

But Clark said Ogego's claim that he was speaking about Barack Obama Sr. doesn't add up.

"If you listen to the call in its entirety, you will find it was very obvious we were all talking about President-elect Barack Obama and not his father," Clark said. "So, the idea that he thought we were talking about his father seems a little farfetched to me."

Clark said Ogego's statement that Obama's Kenyan birthplace was already an attraction caught them off guard.

"The point is, we expected him to say, 'No. Obama was not born in Kenya, but there is an attraction to honor his father.' I would have thought that would have been the answer if anything," he said.

The issue of Obama's place of birth has been heating up since WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth.

When asked if birth records for President-elect Obama exist in Kenya, Ogego replied, "I don't know about all that."

WND asked Ogego why Obama's birth records have been sealed.

"Let's not get into that," he replied. "We will not be dragged into unnecessary information. Somebody has a right to those details – the American government or the Kenyan government – if it is that important."

Ogego refused to discuss the matter further and ended the call.

Other than McCain, I'm not familiar with many "reformers" in the Republican Party. McCain was flying solo. And if not for Bush, he might have been president.

Your sarcasm smells like a concession.

I told you people, who work in the locus of Penn station : to be proactive, root out the terrorist where he/she lives, in the penthouses.

This Thanksgiving, I am thinking of buying as much Chinese electronics as possible, to boost the income of the bankers and other millionaires, so they can get rid of the majority of Americans that are not needed or wanted.

As for Global Warming, Angela knows what some of what is written about political events, but she does not know that Hansen has seriously misrepresented the validity of his climate models to people, to create the perception of CO2's influence on the climate - which even most climatologists now say was way off. They have improved, but have no real predictive power - maybe in 20 years. Although seemingly sincere, Hansen's work was BS, and the administration knew it. Just ask John Sununu or me.

Does anyone know the difference between a Jew and a moslem?

This is not a joke. You know in NYC, they tend to lie.
