Alexdem Says:

Yeah right. She’s a product of the most corrupt, cronyist party from the most corrupt, cronyist state.
She’s a buddy of Ted Stevens. Who is about to go to jail for corruption. She supports giving the oil industry everything they want. She supports anything ANY industry wants, period. (Especially if the alternative is something ‘unimportant’ like the environment.) She supported the ‘bridge to nowhere’ and god knows how many other of the Republicans pork-barrel projects up there. Not bought off. She was sold, bought, and paid for the moment she joined the GOP. And her nomination, entirely due to behind-the-scenes machinations rather than a political or personal commonality with McCain, proves beyond any doubt that this is the case.

If they believed Palin was anything BUT a puppet they could use, she would never have been nominated. End of story.

timothy_d11

CMINCA Says:

Does anyone remember how the media brow beat John Edwards for continuing to run for president while his wife was battling cancer? Well, how does Palin justify campaigning for VP while allowing her 17 year old daughter’s pregnancy to become national news. How does she justify campaigning over actually being there for her daughter. How does she justify going back to work 3 days after her Downs Syndrome child was born? I suppose she was sacrificing her family in order to do God’s work for his preferred political party????

Doesn’t anyone else have a problem with this Alaska first issue? Why is the media brushing over this. This is a serious issue. She said “for Alaska” in her first speech to the nation. This doesn’t strike anyone as odd or serious enough to explore?

Ummahgummah

Hey, I found a picture of Fred in case anyone wants to see what he looks like.. LOL..

He was there to see Ward Churchill speaking at the Women's Building in San Francisco on March 25, 2005

Obama = years of political service = Chicago = 3rd most populous city in the US = nearly 3 million people = U.S. Senator of Illinois = 5th most populous state (13 million)

Palin = former weather girl and beauty pageant runner up = Alaskan Major = 7 thousand people (think Northern Exposure) = Governor of Alaska for 18 mos = 47th least populous state in the union (638 thousand)

Uh, am I missing something or do we have apples and oranges here?

Timothy:

This blog is strangely silent when it comes to the AIP Alaskan Independence Party especially when most have had a fantasy-fear that La Raza was about to Reconsqista from americas first war of aggression.

For all of 'Tonto-Bobo's' ga-ga talk about Palin I say that this issue will probably see her dumped. Of course the GOP will trot in Orin Hatch to do a 'I'm enraged at the media stunt' but at the end of the day it really can't be "GOP" if it's Alaska First.

Where are this blogs loudmouths on this one?

mjfell

MJFELL, I've seen you post plenty on Monica. Glad you could enjoy Fred's usual tack of running to the first person he thinks it new on here to offer up his complaints about how badly he is treated here.

Liberalism is a mental disorder and it is an emotional disorder as well.

Posted by: Ummah Gummah | September 02, 2008 at 08:23 PM

It's been said that if Democrats had brains they'd be Republicans. While that's a funny line (especially if you're Republican#, the truth I've found is that Democrats love America just as much as Republicans do, and are equally as passionate about our country.

Where Dems and Pubs differ is in their philosophies.

Republicans point with great pride to the country we have and the accomplishments we've made. They seek the conservation of capitalism, Christian values, and the military establishment. They see these as the bedrock upon which a really great country was built. And they're right. This is a really great country. It was built on Christian values and capitalism. And we owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to America's military for defending our way of life.

Democrats point to lofty ideals as enunciated in America's founding documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. They seek to have these ideals implemented in everyday life. There's nothing inheriently wrong with wanting to see America's promise of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness distributed more equally among all Americans. Neither is wanting to have the ideal of all men being created equal fully realized.

That being said, I disagree with the Democratic Party on many, if not all of their positions on today's issues. It's not their ideals that I disagree with. It's how they plan to conduct business.

America's a capitalistic economy. I don't think Obama's socialist plans have a place in such an economy. In fact, I believe Obama's plans to re-distribute wealth through taxes and spending programs could lead the U.S. economy into a downturn that would rival the great depression of the 1930s.

America's already straining under the weight of paying the costs of illegal immigration. Obama's open door policy and plans for amnesty will only open the floodgates even wider and create a larger burden upon the already struggling American taxpayer.

Iran's on the brink of having nuclear weapons. They've already tested missles. Their position is that the Holocaust never happened and that the state of Israel should be wiped off the face of the Earth. Yet Obama has publically stated that he will cut funding for the Strategic Defense Initiative. Not only is this system designed to stop a missle attack by a rouge nation #Iran) it was also the last straw that broke the back of the Soviet Union.

So while I may agree with the idealism of many of my Democratic friends, I can't see voting for their agenda. I don't think they have a mental disorder. I just think they're wrong.

bmw 528 Says:

The condescension and arrogance of these Republican schmucks toward women never ends. They are selfish users that would throw their mother under the bus if they personally benefitted from it. The schlep they used this time was some nut job syncophant from Alaska that values her own personal ambition more than lifting up the cause of women’s rights. How arrogant of them to think that we would not figure that out.

So go get ‘em Hillary! Make Eleanor Roosevelt, Susan B. Anthony and millions of other hard working women that bust their butt everyday for the betterment of humanity proud!

Tha Alaskan Independence Party calls for increased Alaskan control of Alaskan land, gun rights, privatization, home schooling, and reduction of governmental intrusion in the private lives of its citizens with adherence to the founding documents of the United States.

Lynette Clark, the chairman of the AIP told ABC News: "We are a state's rights party,"

That sounds like a lot like solid American values.

Unless you believe in a tax and spend Nanny State.

Mjfell--

It's nice to hear a conservative on this blog (other than Michael Avari) say that liberals don't have a mental disorder. Perhaps there's a chance you and I can engage in civil discourse. There's no hope of that with Gringo and Ummah.

Laura Bush hit it out of the park with her speech. Have to go because President Bush is speaking.

Intelligent liberals will vote for Obama because they believe the lies he's been preaching since he announced his candidacy.

They're blinded by their own passion for the belief in their ideals. They don't realize that Obama tells them what they want to hear.

IF (heaven forbid) Obama is actually elected President I fully anticipate hearing from the majority of my Democratic friend, asking me: "Why didn't we listen to you when you warned us about Barack Obama?"

naijaman

Well...Gringo has declared Obama will lose the election...hell...it's all over now! I guess Obama should throw in the towel...Gringo has spoken (rolls eyes). You folks sure do provide some priceless comic relief.

M/M

Fred Thompson was outstanding last night and he showed us EXACTLY WHAT Mrs. Thompson sees in him.

Senator Lieberman is a nice guy, but he showed us EXACTLY why I would never have voted for Senator McCain if Senator McCain had picked him for VP. As Rush said, if the libs like Senator Lieberman so much, why didn't Obama pick him as VP?

Oh, Mark Levin made a great point too. Who is John Kerry to criticize Senator McCain's VP pick? (When John Kerry was running for President, he picked John Edwards as VP.)

timothy_d11

"Another fine example of a liberal without a reasoned response getting emotonal. Thanks for helping to prove my point!"

ANOTHER response by some wingnut moron calling a liberal emotional after he makes a valid point because said wingnut has no valid rebuttal to liberals comment.

Truther

There is a serious desire on the part of some people to ask Sarah to step down.
Frightened by DC being out of control, and the economy, people in the nation are frightened. This nomination adds to their sense of helplessness. They were looking for a young John Warner, or even a Rockefeller, a shark in a tank rather than a fly in the ointment, to handle this degraded situation.

Secondly, the cut tax rates proposed by McCain, said to promote investment, does not guarantee investment that is good for the US and its security. What is needed is a fund, built from the difference between a 15% tax rate and 35%, to ensure wise investment, with long term return to the US. As they lower the tax rate, more foreign run companies will be attracted, with undesirable economic linkages.

Truther

The fund can give money to tax paying corporations that make wise investments in the US. I am addressing the problem of outsourcing and foreign/hostile encroachment in US companies.

M/M

Sarah Palin is a shining example of EXACTLY what #1 female talk show host Laura Ingraham discusses in her book "Power to the People". Not satisfied with being a JUST a hockey mom, Governor Palin started reforming in the PTA and worked her way up.

Listen to Maria Bartoroma talk about her interview with Sarah Palin on Sunday's "Meet the Press". Maria shows how Sarah Palin is an energy expert, our number #1 problem.

Those politicians have had 30 years to fix these problems, but what have they done for us. Joe Biden might be a nice guy, but he represents the "same old, same old". Washington is broken and the McCain/Palin ticket represents real change to me.

Oh, by the way, Al Gore, Governor Palin gave up her plane when she became Governor.

McCain/Palin
"Yes, they can"

FK

Palin also represents some archaic thinking as well, such as creationism taught on par with evolution. I'm sure we'll hear that she's in favor of organized prayer in school, as well.

I just hope this election doesn't become about flag burning and the pledge of allegiance.

Yep, as in Bee Ess.

I have found PBS's coverage of the conventions calmer and more educational than that on any other channel.

And when I turn on NPR, I hear classical music, some news, "Wait, wait, Don't Tell Me" (which makes fun of everyone), and (mostly) "Car Talk". So I don't know exactly what at NPR makes you so angry.

Phil

So Palin doesn't have foreign policy experience? So what?

McCain didn't select her because he needs foreig policy experience, he already has plenty. He selected her because she is an expert on the most important issue facing our country, energy. It's a bonus that she has a record of rooting out corruption even in her own party.

LOL! Keith Olberman will be there with him leading the charge...LOL!

If an intelligent human being falls victim to a professional, demonstrated "silver tongued devil" does that make them less intelligent?

The real problem isn't that some people have been fooled by the lies "Slick Barry" has preached. The real problem is that he might get elected!!!

The Democrats have launched their attacks on Govenor Sarah Palin, wailing about her lack of experience and calling Senator John McCain's mental capabilities into question for naming her...hmmmmmm. Let's ponder some important matters here.

First off, Barack Obama's camp lamenting Sarah Palin's lack of experience is like a pot calling the kettle black (no pun intended)!

We could always choose to submit to the emotional blackmail Jimmy Carter's employed by playing the race card again (another Democrat playing the race card...and they're the ones with the black guy..go figure) when he said America will be showing itself to be a racist country if we don't elect Barack Obama.

Wait a minute. Let's see here... If memory serves me correctly, Barack Obama acquired 175, or 10% of his earned delegates through caucuses (including 16 from Iowa-his 'breakout' state). Now, we all know that caucuses aren't the vote of a state's populace. They're a collection of party insiders deciding who should be awarded delegates. So party insiders bestowed upon Obama 10% of his earned delegates. But that still wasn't enough to defeat Hillary Clinton. Obama had to rely upon 'Super Delegates' to make up for his shortfall during the Democratic primary season. Therefore, more Democratic Party insiders had to step in and hand the nomination to Obama over Hillary Clinton.

These party bosses even brokered a deal (Nancy Pelosi went so far as to council delegates that is was counterproductive 'to keep wallowing'' over the Primary results) that included Clinton's 'suddenly' walking out on the convention floor to call for an end to the delegate count and nominate Obama by acclaimation. (Made for dramatic television coverage and perpetuated the myth that they're united.)

Can you say disrespected? I wonder if Hillary Clinton will find it was worth it to sell her soul...

So the Democrats have a nominee who's been hand picked by party bosses, while a disrespected candidate who accumulated 18 million votes and received over 99% of her earned delegates in the primaries isn't even on the ballot.

This is the party of the little people?

It sounds like affirmative action to me.

So now we have a choice between an experienced, qualified white man or an inexperienced, unqualified black man. Of course we all know that affirmative action would pick Obama in the interest of 'racial equality'.

But WE don't have to.

This is an election by the people, to choose a leader of the people. A leader for the people, not the Democratic party bosses and Democratic special interests (yes, Democrats have special interests too).

We can choose to submit to Jimmy Carter's blackmail and cave in to affirmative action, or we can follow the lead of Dr. Martin Luther King, who's historic 'I Have a Dream' speech called for a time when his children 'will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character'.

Content of character...hmmmm...

Barack Obama launched into the primary season calling for sweeping change and an end to 'politics as usual'. Well, when it's been helpful to his campaign he's changed his positions on public financing, the Cuba embargo, illegal immigration, meeting with foreign leaders, the Patriot act and offshore drilling. Obama's choice for his Vice Presidential running mate was a Senator who's never had a job in the private sector because he's been in Washinton DC since Richard M. Nixon was President.

Is this man an agent of sweeping change you can believe in?

What Obama doesn't tell you in any of his speeches is that he's voted with the liberal Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid 95% of the time. That would be the same Harry Reid, who along with uberliberal House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, head up a Democratic-led Congress with a sensational 9% job approval rating. Obama is part of the liberal Congressional leadership of which 91% of the American people disapprove. And Obama votes with them 95% of the time.

This guy is supposed to bring us a new kind of post-partisanship?

George W. Bush proposed a final attempt to salvage the situation in Iraq with a surge of troops under the leadership of General Petraeus. Obama opposed that effort and was willing to pull our troops out and accept defeat. The surge worked and brought victory to Iraq, yet Obama refuses to acknowledge that. And why won't he? Because the left wing of the Democratic party won't let him acknowledge the obvious and give credit to Bush. Obama refuses to take the advice of the Commander of that successful effort--General Petraeus, and is still willing to pull our troops out without regard to the consequences.

This is the man who's going to be Commander in Chief?

Obama sat in the church of an angry Pastor for 20 years. His Pastor spewed hate and anti-American bigotry for decades while Barack Obama set in the pew agreeing with the hatred. At first Obama defended Rev. Wright like a member of his own family. But when his association to Wright began to threaten his Presidential aspirations he kicked Wright to the curb.

This is who's going to usher in a new era of racial harmony?

During the Vietnam war John McCain volunteered for combat duty. He could have left the 'Hanoi Hilton' POW camp early. McCain refused release until the POWs who'd been there longer than him were released first. As a result, he remained in prison camp for another five and one half years (including three in solitary confinement). McCain's earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross.

Here's someone distinguished in service and loyal to his comrads in arms.

Although he'd worked to elect Ronald Reagan, he wasn't afraid to question the ruling Republican orthodoxy. In 1983 he called for the withdrawal of U.S. Marines from Lebanon, and publicly criticized the Reagan administration´s handling of the Iran-Contra affair. He's differed with George W. Bush on many issues including torture, pork barrel spending, illegal immigration, a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage and global warming. During the 2004 Presidential campaign he even defended the Vietnam War record of Bush´s Democratic opponent, Senator John Kerry, which came under attack during the campaign.

Here's a man with the conviction to stand up for what he believes in, even if it puts him at odds with his own political party.

McCain's pick for Vice President is a bright, energetic reformer from outside Washington DC. In one fell swoop he not only continued to show original and unconventional thinking by picking a woman to be his running mate, McCain's guaranteed that no matter the outcome, history will be made by this election.

Having reviewed the content of Senator Obama's character, and compared it to the content of Senator McCain's character this is an easy choice. Actually, it's no contest.

America doesn't need an affirmitive action President with a radical, left wing hidden agenda.

Vote John McCain for President!

AS THE DEM DOOM CLOCK KEEPS TICKING....

MOLOCH, BABY KILL AND DEMOCRATS.....

Moloch, Baby Sacrifices, & The Democrats

Over at Power and Control is a surprising posting about the Democrats. It starts out with a long quote from Asia Times columnist "Spengler" (who is always a delight to read, even when I don't agree with him) about how McCain's choice of Palin is going to seal the fate of the Democrats in November. I suspect that Spengler is right about this, although I don't have quite that much confidence. But Power and Control points out a couple of aspects of where the Democratic Party is headed that I find fascinating, especially what Power and Control (who is a libertarian) calls the "fetishizing" of abortion:

It is interesting that the Democrats keep nominating successively weaker candidates. First Gore. Then Kerry. And now Obama. I think it is becoming obvious for all to see that the Democrat Party has no soul. As such it has no direction except the will to power. In fact the behavior of his base since Palin was nominated is an expression of that weakness. It would appear from their behavior that strong women frighten them. And they should be frightened.

...

I think it is telling in many ways that the left's caricature of evangelical relations with women is really a projection of their own weakness. In fact Moloch is the god of the weak. You have to be strong to raise children. Not just for a day or a week but for 18 or 20 years. In fact for a whole lifetime. Which is exactly why what the left is going through now with the abortion issue and Sarah Palin and her daughter is so telling. They are attacking the mother and daughter because they are strong. And such strength only illuminates that which they would prefer to remain in darkness. Their weakness.

Does this mean I want abortion made illegal? Don't be silly. Such a law would serve no useful purpose. Botched abortions kill. They can also prevent future births when the woman and man involved find their strength. But that does not mean that we should avoid looking at it square on and seeing it for what it is. The fact that the Democrats and especially Obama have to a great degree fetishized abortion is very telling. Very telling indeed.

Exactly what was your valid point? That there's a plank in the AIP that calls for Alaskan independence as a seperate country? The United States already settled that issue while Abraham Lincoln was President. It was in all the American history books.

Increased Alaskan control of Alaskan land, gun rights, privatization, home schooling, and reduction of governmental intrusion in the private lives of its citizens with adherence to the founding documents of the United States doen't sound like off-the-charts wingnut kooks. It sounds like old fashioned American values.

What're your objection to adherence to the founding document of the United States? Don't those documents contain precisely the high ideals that left leaning people dream of implementing?

Or is your valid point that you think I hate America.

Or is your valid point that you think I'm so much of an a$$hole?

Or is it that you think I'm a wingnut moron?

Nah, your not emotional at all.

Thanks again for helping to prove my point!

What I personally have a problem with is they are a STATE with the most wilderness and they seem to be the most pro-oil, anti-environment people in all of the United States.

I don't like rednecks.

I don't like morons that gun down wolves, especially by air.

I don't like people who dismiss man-made causes of climate change, not necessarily because they don't believe it is man-made but because they know doing something about it would hurt business.

I don't like ignorance.

I don't like people that want to teach creationism in school.

And when I came on this blog, Freak was here making sexual innuendo at Monica.

He wants to keep rehashing this over and over again instead of talking about substantial things because he has nothing of substance to say.

What bothers the libs is Sarah Palin. especially after her superb performance last night.

Whenever things are going badly for th elibs, Fred comes out whith his emotional attacks.

It's getting to be a tired technique which really deserves to be retired.

Ummahgummah

liberals are antagonized by the truth.

I just hope this election doesn't become about flag burning and the pledge of allegiance.

Why?

Is there anything wrong with the Pledge of Allegiance?

Is the right to burn the flag that important to u libs?

Why can't u libs just be compAAAAssionate with us backward Conservatives for a CHNAGE and respect our fEEEElings when it comes to flag burning an the like?

u libs are always so concerned about the fEEElings of mOOOOselEEEEms and EEEEmEEEEgrAAAAnts.. How come u can't be concerned about OURS?

FOR A CHANGE!

FK

Ummah --

You are too predictable.

BTW -- as I recall, I was being hard on Monica because she kept using the acronym C L I T for Hillary's supporters, so she deserved whatever I gave her. Obviously, she's rather crass herself.

You definitely attacked Timothy first. Stop playing so innocent. No one but your fans, like Skunky and the newest one, MJfell, would fall for that.

Ummahgummah

Don't put words in other people's mouths ONCE AGAIN, FreaK!

Just because people here agree on certain issues it is insulting to call them *fans*.

It's part of your lib nature to use degrading language when u describe realistic-thinking people who happen to agree with one another on most reasonable points.

And I certainly did NOT attack the tiny dhimmi first.

he cam on the board spewing his insulting filth from day one.

Sorry FreaK. u can keep repeating ur lies but that won't change the FACTS!

Ummahgummah

This blog is strangely silent when it comes to the AIP Alaskan Independence Party especially when most have had a fantasy-fear that La Raza was about to Reconsqista from americas first war of aggression.
For all of 'Tonto-Bobo's' ga-ga talk about Palin I say that this issue will probably see her dumped. Of course the GOP will trot in Orin Hatch to do a 'I'm enraged at the media stunt' but at the end of the day it really can't be "GOP" if it's Alaska First.
Where are this blogs loudmouths on this one?

GW, after reading this I have my doubts as to whether you are in fact voting McCain. Nor do I buy that you're a Conservative as you claim to be.

I think you're here as some sort of "agent provocateur".

Prove me wrong or fess up!

Ummahgummah

Here's the official website of "Aztlan/LaRaza.

besides 'reconquista" they support the various terrorist causes around the world.

Things get more radical and "whitey" hating as you scroll down the [very badly designed LOL!] site.

Thank you, Gilbert Washington for exposing yourself to everyone.

After Gov. Palin sold the plane on ebay, what did she use for transportation? Did she put a saddle on a dinosaur?

Why? Are you volunteering for a saddle-fitting?
