Party of One
Barack Obama is selling himself as a Great Unifier: he's going to work his magical charm and bring together America and then bring together the world. Tall order, but the Great Unifier says he can do it.
He may want to begin by unifying his own positions. Over the past year, Obama has taken these various n' sundry positions:
1. He was for talking to terrorist states before he was against it (sort of).
2. He was for an undivided Jerusalem before he was against it.
3. He was against NAFTA before he was for it.
4. He was for public financing of the general election before he was against it.
5. He was against the handgun ban in Washington, DC before he was against it.
6. He was for a filibuster of the FISA wiretapping bill before he was against it.
And this is only the big stuff.
No wonder his far-left base is up in arms. The left-wing blogs and many of the nation's editorial pages are inflamed by Obama's tack to the "center." They feel betrayed by a guy whom they believed to be "one of them." He is, of course, one of them, but being a garden variety politician, he understands he's got to moderate his rhetoric to win the election. Then he can go to town with his far-left agenda.
But for now, the left-wing is going bananas. "Can we trust this guy?" they are asking. Funny, that's the same question John McCain is asking about his opponent.
And, by the way, it's the same question Hillary Clinton's supporters are asking about him. Her die-hard loyalists still harbor a Mt. Olympus-sized grudge against the upstart from Chicago. They think he's untrustworthy, arrogant, ungrateful, not ready for primetime, a lamb being led to the slaughter. They may or may not be right about that, but they remain loyal to Hillary. A quarter of her voters still say they'll vote for McCain instead.
So the Great Unifier has some unifying to do. He can begin with his own party, because if he doesn't repair these rifts, and soon, he could find that his big, unkempt, sprawling party is actually just a party of one.

Yo Monca you cute thang you-----
My O my, you still signifyin' on my man Barra? He got some unifyin' t'do? Okay. Why not? But what you think John McCain got to do? You ain't heard all them conservatives talk 'bout 'Juan McCain' an' 'Shamnesty John' an' 'RINO Man' an' how he ain't up to snuff on this and on that?
Obama, he runnin' for Prezdent, not just Messiah. We know he gonna say what he got to say. Ain't he a poltician of de Chikago Gang? Don't they play baaaad as any Mr and Mrs. Arkansaw Bubba?
Now look, that don't mean he a gang member. I ain't sayin' that. Doan misquote me. He black but he practically white. Dig it? I nevah made Harvit. He did. They learnt him. You know I ain't no Harvit man. So he kin talk white like I nevah could even if I would. Know what I sayin'? So let him do that white stuff. Somebuddy got to do it. You go, Barra.
Unify? Yeah. He gonna unify. Like I toad you, Chil', even Bobba Dylan now unifyin' wit Barra.

The funniest thing is Obama is now a A.Scalia fan because he supports the recent Supreme Court decision on the Second Amendment. The next thing you know Obama will be for extending the Bush tax cuts and for offshore drilling. As we know and Monica pointed out, it's all a big ruse. It's a Nigerian Scam. As soon as he is elected he will propose amnesty for all illegals, the Bush tax cuts will expire, and we will have the biggest tax increase in the history of mankind. He is a rockhard liberal of the first order. The real scary thing is that he will appoint more Ruthie B. Ginsburg types to he Supreme Court. You can kiss goodbye the Second Amendment, the war on terror, the death penalty and every other common sense right we have.

Monica --
Please don't attempt to speak for Democrats and liberals. You don't speak for us, and you don't get us, so don't bother.
BTW -- Above is the real Gringoman for those of you who bought his "gentleman" act.

(Fred)"Please don't attempt to speak for Democrats and liberals. You don't speak for us, and you don't get us, so don't bother."
-----------------------------------
Fred, Obama is running for President of the whole country, we have a right to critique his positions and his mutliple positions on the same issue. I know that the Democrats would prefer that we were back in the old days when the only media was the leftie main stream media and they let the Democrats get away with murder, but that is a thing of the past (hopefully unless the Obama and the Demos are successful in bringing back the "fairness doctrine"). The conservative media is here to stay and we are going to ensure that the American people know who Obama is, because the leftie main stream media will not report anything negative about Obama. In fact, nitwits like Chris Matthews (MSNBC) said one time that when Obama speaks he gets cold chills up and down his leg. That's almost spooky.

Thank you, Steve, for saying it better than I could have. I was about to give the FreAK an earful but I am glad that you gave him a *brainful* instead.
Not that he'll get it but hey!
Libs still continue to feel entitled, don' they?
Well that monopoly is UP.
Yes, we have every right to discuss who is gearing up to take not only taxes from the libs but ours as well.
The libs have certainly discussed W and the Reps to death and now we are supposed to remain silent?!
Stalinism rears its ugly head once again..

Jack Walsh on "Morning Joe", said that people should vote for Obama. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing - as an example he suggested Starbucks.
He continued to support the contention that Dick Grasso's pension was condign - 190 million.

I meant Jack Welsh

I'd comment on this piece, but I'm not even sure Monica actually wrote it herself. Can I get some confirmation here?

Somehow that doesn't prove much of anything.
Kind of like me saying that Obama heard me say "Keep hope alive" somewhere and now keeps bleating "audacity of hope, audacity of hope".

"Yes, we have every right to discuss who is gearing up to take not only taxes from the libs but ours as well."
Since only those making over $250K a year will see their taxes go up under Obama's plan, it would be all too easy to assume that you're one of them (What did Dubya call you guys? His "base?")...
Rather, I'm going to hazard the guess instead that you're probably just another of those lazy, propaganda-spoon-fed sheep who rely solely upon Fox, Rush and Coulter for their filtered and narrow-minded view of the world, without any idea based in reality of what Obama's tax plan actually calls for...
Wake up, saps! The GOP doesn't represent the working man. They work for, and on behalf of, the super-rich...

"Somehow that doesn't prove much of anything."
Doesn't prove much of anything?? Let's see here...she played the ACTUAL parody ad on her show (a parody created by somebody else--a liberal, in fact), and then claimed it as her own...
Think about it for a moment. Now what part don't you get?
Posted by: | July 02, 2008 at 08:22 PM
$250K isn't super-rich, especially here in NYC.
My tax dig was simply a dig. There's much worse things I am worried about if Obama gets into the White House..
His radical entourage including the terrorist William Ayers and his Rev. Wrong.
Not to mention the wife.
How do you explain the presence of these people around Obama?
How come he refuesed to wear a flag lapel and now he's never seen without it?
Talk about a flip-flopper.. I think he's trying to pull a fast one.
Finally I am concerned that he's going to be another Jimmy Carter with-a-tan. Or worse, a mandchurian moslem!
Posted by: Ummah Gummah | July 02, 2008 at 08:24 PM
I think i heard her play that ad on her show butg I do NOT rmember Monica saying that she PRODUCED it!
On the other hand I am not glued to the radio like those Moveon.org drones.
I have the radio on while I am working on things..

Oh, come on. A smart boy like you can do better than that, can't you? With saps, yet?
You can do better than plagiarize the Communist Manifesto, changing "capitalist" to "GOP" or "super-rich" and "proletariat" to "working man." Can't you?
Is this any way to make Marx and Engels proud? Did you know that most Marxies disgusted old Karl himself, with their cheap half-wit slogans re-treaded for the boobniks?
What do you have that wasn't posted all over Russia in 1917 by the Bolshiviki? Anything?
Come on, dude. It's not that hopeless, is it? You don't really feel lost and tongue-tied without George Carlin's seven dirty words, do you?
Even saps expect more. Give it a try.

"$250K isn't super-rich, especially here in NYC"
It's pretty darn comfortable, even in NYC.
And being from New York I'm still amazed that dopes like you exist and haven't been driven out of here by the thinking masses.

Nice site you've got here. My last comment has been censored...

Nothing seems to have been censored since I recently started poking around in here! I'll give them that. Occasionally a key word will cause some spam filter to prevent you from posting but I usually find the word and change it and then it goes through. And sometimes you gotta log out and log back in to post - it seems screwy that way, but I don't think it's censorship.

DEMONSENTCROOKS
I find it interesting how you live in NYC make $250 and complain. Don't you cheat on your taxes like most people making over $200 dollars do. Maybe you should get a good financial planner and an accountant to help you out there. If I made $250 in NYC i would be living it up. But of course your probably the smart one paying a $3,000 rent for a one bedroom. lol!

Hey Monica-I was wondering what you thought about the Laurie Kilmartin post over on Huffington. You didn't plagarize that did you? What gives?? Why haven't you answered her emails? It looks bad on your part...what's the story here?

So, Monica are you one of those Faux journalists like Jeff Gannon? Another plant by the right?
Or do you just steal other people's words and thoughts and brand them as your own?
Yuck.
