Disinformation

A few days ago, the world's media reported that Iran had test-fired medium and long-range missiles, capable of reaching Israel and into the heart of Europe.  Secretary of Defense Robert Gates addressed the test, though his remarks were cautious. National security and foreign policy experts weighed in on the tests' meaning.  In this space, I wrote that that exercise, along with all of the other provocative and defiant acts by Tehran made Iran the world's most dangerous state-based threat.

Now it's being reported that the Iranians orchestrated a fraud: the missile test didn't happen the way the Iranians had portrayed it and the photos of it were doctored by Iran. Iran is being accused of staging and tweaking the evidence to suggest its missile technology is a lot more accurate and sophisticated than it actually is. The media is also being accused of fanning the flames of this Iranian propaganda.

What is the truth?  As with everything related to the Islamic regime in Tehran, it's impossible to really know. Was this "phony" missile test really phony?  Was it a decoy to deflect our attention from other, more nefarious, activities?  Was it meant to get us to focus on the missiles rather than the uranium?  Was it actually a test for something else, say, the ability to deliver a weapon for an electromagnetic pulse attack?  Was it all meant to throw us off the real scent?

The opaque nature of the Iranian regime makes it extremely difficult to read the tea leaves. One thing we do know: the Iranians are wily ones. Clever. Stealthy. Masters of deception. This missile "test" may or may not be disinformation. But there is plenty about Iran's nuclear and terrorist activity that we do know, and we mustn't let some Photoshopped pictures take our eye off the ball.

Ironically, Saddam Hussein acted similarly. He wanted other countries to think he had WMD's so that they would respect him, not thinking that such machismo would lead the U.S. to actually invade.

Let's be more cautious this time. Let's not put American lives at risk in a foreign country that may be posturing to make everyone think they are more dangerous than they are.

My suggestion: Let this situation sit until His Incompetency is out of office.

He said it is 99% certain that the West will face the reality of The Mullah Bomb. The three ways of (sic) stopping the Jimmuh Carter-enabled (if you don't like "created") Mullah Gang:

1. Regime Change.
2. Negotiation
3. War

Each one of these has built-in failure probabilities, some very obvious, some less so.(Can be delineated at a later date.)

George Bush, of course, hounded for "failure" in Iraq, has no political capital or stomach left for war with Iran, despite the Media noise and liberal "warnings."

Israel might defy Washington and hit Iran anyway, but in the near term only if Obama is elected in November. Israel, of course, would feel it had to strike before Obama started using his
"community organizer" negotiating "skills" in Tehran (with a little help from progressive David Axelrod, a Lower East Side mother's contribution to The People.)

4. There is a fourth way i.e. taking one of those three, but getting really serious. The problem with it is that Winston Churchill's great victory makes it impossible today. Churchill won that war and lost the British Empire (Pat Buchanan might underestimate Hitler, but what happened to Rule Britannia after its WW II "victory" is beyond dispute.)

Today, nobody even remembers that the West, not so long ago, never allowed the malevolent and backward and barbaric to spit in its face and endanger world security. Race cards did not work either. The clever Communists had not exported Politically Correct yet, on such a successful scale, in effect neutering a chunk of the Fourth Amendment under Machiavellian guise of "sensitivity."

The few who do recall know that today's Western man does not have the will or the stomach to unite, storm Iran (and maybe other venal regimes who also need a little storming), remove the homicidal crazies, liberate the people and administer the oil fields etc for the benefit of everyone concerned, and let the Lefties shriek themselves to death.

But Western Man is now in his Viagra period. No can do. Even the Republicans, when not caving to a jiving Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson shakedown, can tell you how a united Western invasion would "offend the muslims" who might even scream about "Crusaders" and "imperialists" and....These are the "leaders" today, including the ones who are called "conservative." I have a great idea for Obama's VP. He should seriously consider Amhaddinnerjacket as his Vice Presidential nominee. What a team they would make and prove once and for all that B. Obama is a new type of politician and is really into the "change" thing. Amhaddinnerjacket would solidify most of the blue states such as Vermont, California, Oregon, and New York. His nomination would mean a lock on those states for Obama.

As Vice President, Amhaddinnerjacket would serve as President of the Senate and cast deciding votes for the Democrats and what a speech he would give at the Democratic convention. He would ensure that the 76,000 seat stadium is full during the convention as Democrats would flock to see him nominated. I think this is an excellent choice for the Democrats.

This covers just about every base imaginable. It hints at a very large closet full of muslim connections and relations of this currently practising Christian. It can't possibly be labeled a "smear." It misstates nothing, begs no question, and declares "Open Sesame" to the question of exactly who and what BHO is
