What Positive Campaign?

For all of Barack Obama's talk about running a positive campaign based on "hope" and "change" and "bringing people together," he's as much a political assassin as his opponents.

Yesterday he suggested that John McCain was "losing his bearings" because McCain had the gall to point out that Obama is the choice of the terrorist group Hamas. McCain's statement was fully factual (a Hamas spokesman said several weeks ago that they would like to see Obama become president--for obvious reasons.) And yet the liberal word police--including Jon Stewart-- jumped all over McCain for talking about it. You aren't supposed to point out that America's enemies prefer the deer-in-the-headlights defeatist to the bona-fide war-hero.

Obama's full quote: "For him to toss out comments like that, I think, is an example of him losing his bearings as he pursues this nomination."

A). McCain aleady has the Republican nomination.

And B). "losing his bearings" suggests advancing age, a personal slam of the kind Obama said he was going to avoid in this campaign.

Sure he is.

He's no dummy. And he didn't get to this point by playing nice. He knows strictly positive campaigns lose elections. And he has no intention of losing.

Steel up, McCain. The Hope Guy has his weapon at the ready. And its got a silencer.

Al Sharpton - jailed! And his minders? Seeking guidance.

In that same bit, Charisma Barry also accused McCain of "name-calling," without telling us what name he had been called. I couldn't find it. Can anyone?

Is a statement of (Hamas) fact now "name-calling"? Or was Barry's take just a Harvard exercise in liberal mental disorder?

Monica, GAB(the Gringo Advisory Board) is waiting to hear of any further developments in a possible Crowley run with John McCain (especially if Mitt Romney is vetoed for veep.) Why could this not be the ticket?

GAB also continues to wholeheartedly support the idea of Imus supporting a Crowley candidacy.

Be sure to keep us informed.

And I tell you who else is pulling for Obama to win in November---O. B. Laden and Al Qaeda. Since Obama would immediately pull out of Iraq that would give Al Qaeda a victory in Iraq of gigantic proportions. OBL could come out of his caves and relax if Obama wins in November because the war on terror would be over--they win. The fact that Obama accuses McCain of losing his bearings on this only shows that Obama doesn't have a clue in hell about our enemies.

A problem for Monica's being VP : Cold hands, no gloves.

This is what brought down the house of Trinity and brought on the Nation of Islam (pay particular attention of how Barry talks and how this is similar) :

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=30870794

Sour grapes, prime spot went to Itzhak Perlman. Absolutely no affirmative action among musicians!

And there is the problem of gravitas : she would at least need some dark-rimmed glasses, and to lower her voice slightly.

I can only address the memo in snippets here, but I think she would make a fine moderate Republican - one with a good head and heart. Her shuttling to and fro from Washington and doing her show - is like a half a campaign she does every week, including writing her own material.

Is she serious? Wasn't she connected to speech writers for Gerald Ford?

Monica as Johnny Boy's VP:

You want gravitas? Dark-rimmed specs? A more "anchored" voice?

Details. Details. Who doesn't do make-over today?

Background?

Monica is a woman of advanced
political science and degrees and communication skills (a tragically dead art to the Bush Republicans), not to mention a woman with a Nixonian past---in the best sense, with books authored on it.

The great majority of normal Americans would see her as Miss America with a brain. The excitement would be obvious. And the leftniki would react with sneer and trembling.

An award-winning newsman friend has emailed me his enthusiastic support for Monica as VP. In fact he could hardly contain himself.

(I'll contain his message for now, at least until I'm sure he doesn't mind it being posted.)

Ps Somebody better get to McCain before he makes a real bore of a choice. Don Imus is strategically situated for this, a pal of JM. No time to lose.

Obama kept calling Matt Lauer "Tim" when he was on the Today Show...so Matt gives him a break, you must be tired after all this time on the Campaign trail, now switch that if John McCain who has also been on the Campaign Trail, had made a mistake and called Matt - Tim, people would blame it on his AGE. IS THERE A STIGMA THE MEDIA IS TRYING TO PROMOTE ABOUT JOHN MCCAIN'S AGE? You bet, they will try anything to promote controversy to get ratings. It looks like Obama doesn't have any problem playing their Game.

I didn't hear that example of Obama with Lauer having what gringoVision calls a "junior moment."

But it gets worse. Obama had another "junior moment" which is now all over the blogosphere. He said he visited "57 states."

Apparently the Lamestream is not covering it, since it's from their sheltered Obambi and not McCain, But their Obambi is on video saying it. We're in New Media era.

Escaping Politically Correct

Obama it's all about the kids really? This is going to leave a MARK.

And how did Obama help Children by insisting on Imus being fired for Satire NHH and he apologized..how again was it helpful not letting him finish his Radiothon for Children's Charities last year?

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/obama-first-to-call-for-imus-firing-for-racism

Obama let him EAT CROW!

They want to make an issue out of McCain's age..?

If he chooses a true conservative as his running mate his age may well become a real asset.

:-)

Oh, and here is something that both Michael Avari and F-Fred should read.

Just anouyher illustration of the brute stone-age mentaility of moslems.

http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/toronto/archive/2007/12/11/girl-16-dies-after-hijab-dispute-with-father.aspx

UG,

So we should show enmity toward Austria too because of the perversion of one man abusing his daughter for 24 years? Or is the stone age mentality an affliction of only one religion?

Peace,

Or perhaps we should pick a fight with China because of the millions of pre-born babies killed in state-sponsored abortion?

Actually, as a I write this, that would a better reason for Bush not to attend the Olympics. But, his administration is resisting giving the same asylum consideration to the male as we give the female, even though China's policy is aimed at the couple according to The Associate Press (8 May 2008).

If McCain wants to establish his foreign policy credentials beyond the prosecution of the war in Iraq, while contemporaneously solidfying the pro-life base, this would be his chance. That and re-affirming a free Taiwan.

regards,

Associated Press ... sorry

... and by taking a stance on this he could establish another distinction with Bush ... distinctions he needs to enumerate in his debates with Obama in the general ...

Mr Avari :

I am glad you mentioned it. State sponsored, and especially forced abortions must be a terror. It should be an issue, but ....

with all the deaths in Burma, and the US forces wavering until they received word from the Chinese(PRC), whether or not to intervene; isn't this just another example of "gross human rights violations"? The US is saying nil, because of trade. According to the Chinese government, 1,000,000 Burmese deaths or whatever is no big deal. People are like grass. This is a continuous process, and intervention is necessary to stop it.

If the Senator want to make inroads with social conservatives I know, how about voicing concerns about trading with a country that does not recognize its human rights violations, and this could include abortions. We should terminate MFN status, deal with the Chinese government and our own economy, and then send in the missionaries as usual. The industry there is a very cold fusion with our expectations. These investments because of the political climate are very risky; and investors have overindulged. The Chaos group has been in charge. The benefits of trade we seek will come, but not by placing the cart before the dragon. Is not the former USSR still operating, and trying to pull itself back together? Czar Nikki, though, is clearly terminated.

Truther,

I'm not an expert on this, but isn't the problem that we are borrowing money from China, so we literally can't afford to anger that government or we could suffer severe economic consequenses? I really think we need to DEMAND that our elected officials examine how we are doing business, especially when dealing with countries with a record of human rights violation.

I'm not an expert on this either, but I was reading that one of the reasons the atrocities are continuing in Darfur is because China imports 80% of its oil from Sudan, so China blocks whatever attempts the UN makes to resolve the situation in Darfur. Does the U.S. even have the economical clout to do anything or are those countries with such a strong record of record of human rights violations calling the shots?

I don't have the energy to research the role of "sovereign wealth funds" in our current economic climate, but from what I've heard these funds allow countries like China to invest in our investment firms and banks. How much control and power are we giving these countries over our banking system and our money supply?

According to Obama's church United Trinity the Networks are run by Right Wing Bigots...huh they all have been gushing over Obama. File this under "Haters" everyone talks about the Racist but NOBODY ever brings up the Haters!

Ree,

"Imus Times" is really turning into Media Matters. Now, I see certain posters policing other WABC radio show hosts concerning their participation in the radiothon.

I would like to point out that on Apirl 18, 2008 Rush held his 18th annual "Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Cure-A-Thon" and kicked it off with his own donation. Did Don Imus or any of his fans promote Rush's radiothon? (Just asking.)

Oh, and we now call a certain radio talk show host "NotSoStuckOnStupid" for having the cajones to bring Reverend Wright to our attention. As Reverend Wright suggested to Hannity in the link below, I am taking a closer look at "black liberation theology" and James Cone. Here is what I found:

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/the-white-hatred-in-black-liberation-theology

To be fair, I googled "black liberation theology" and I found this"

AWESOME SHOW today Monica! Your tan looks great. I don't know what to think about Hillary; thanks to you and Pat for clarifying what is going on with her campaign. Thanks for the update on Medvedev too.

About that flag, here is a picture of one of Obama's buddy stomping on the flag in 2001.

Go ahead Juan, choose Charlie Crist for a Vice President. I heard Rush say yesterday, that even though he can get Republicans to vote for Hillary, he might not be able to get them to vote for Juan in November.

From what I'm hearing on C-Span and talk radio, it seems like there might be a large percentage of voters who will be staying home in November. Or there might be another candidate out there.

Hey Juan, BIG ECONOMIC ISSUE emerging. Heard that illegal immigration is costing Los Angeles County taxpayers about $1 billion a year, and that does not include the cost of education.

http://mayorsam2.blogspot.com/2008/01/cost-of-welfare-for-illegal-aliens.html

Thruther - I fully agree with you. You hit the nail right on the head.

M/M - I agree that we are borrowing money from China and from other countries with which we run a current accounts deficit--the money portion of the trade deficit). (Not sure about Darfur, though--there is more there than we understand.) With all those dollars in the coffers of these countries, they must:
a. buy US Treasury notes;
b. buy US property or equity in companies;
c. lend to US companies; or
d. exchange the excess dollars for Euros or other currencies.

(a) is used to finance the US deficit, debt, and the war. (b) and (c) are more and more accumulated into sovereign wealth funds--the equivalent of a foreign government owned venture capital or private equity fund that acts as a source of capital for US and other businesses. I agree that we should not permit foreign governments to own American companies, but that they should be required to pass the investment through a private concern in the form of debt. Remember when China National Oil Company wanted to but Unocal? Finally, (d) puts downward pressure on the dollar--not bad for exporters temporarily, but a future source of inflation, because we buy imports like oil with lower valued dollars. This and the war risk, plus the higher demand from the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) are why oil prices are higher today.

The upshot is that Washington is a mess, this is all beyond Bush or Congress, the Democrats are talking about more socialized programs like government mandated health insurance, which makes matters worse, and McCain wants to give us $35 back this summer from the gas tax. But readers of Monica's blog already knew all that!

Cheers ... because the only thing we can do in times like these is drink,

M/M

I have no complaints with 77WABC or their on air talent...I just wish that RFD TV would put a camera on Bernie and Lou.

M/M

Dick Gregory came on Imus In The Morning and he was discussing the Universities his sons went to, Harvard and Morehouse he said, the one that got his education at Morehouse made more money. I don't know what to take away from that but Dick Gregory also talked about where he got his Degree because he wasn't going to have his ?education? validated by a racist Institution..he mentioned Illinois, I don't remember which school. I really don't know how to interpet his statements. Really it confuses me how would I know which Universities are Racist Institutions?

Bulletins at Obama’s Church Carry Own Controversy
By: Fred Lucas
In a column in the April 15, 2007 bulletin, the Rev. Reginald Williams, the associate pastor for social justice at Trinity United, said he was not surprised by the racially charged remarks that talk-radio host Don Imus made about the Rutgers University women’s basketball team because “the major networks are run by right-winged conservatives who still see black people as subhuman and portray black people as such.”

Source Newsmax.com

Run by Right-Winged Conservatives? Huh Really which Network are they watching? I turn on the TV and it is an Obama love fest...The common theme right now is Hillary Clinton your done you need to quit. The Media decided for her isn't that special.

The 77WABC talent are all together here BG

Ree,

I didn't listen to the Dick Gregory clip you mentioned, but I did hear the one where he mentioned something about little black boys who can't even dream of living in a nice home. I immediately thought of Reverend Wright's new $1.6 million home in an all white neighborhood. Dick Gregory also mentioned how difficult it is for black people to get cabs and I though of all the co-workers I always offer rides home to in bad weather.

Between Dick Gregory and Reverend Wright, "Imus in the Morning" is becoming "BET in the Morning". Bernie's career seems to be ruined just because he repeated lines from a Spike Lee movie. However, I bet, Sharkton and Reverend Wright are going strong.

I'm sensitive about Sean because he probably has "a hit" on him these days. I think the Reverend Wright story is a legitimate story that the voters should know about before the election. Here is Sean talking about "black liberation theology"

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,354158,00.html

Personally, I'm glad I live in a country where I can be offended by Reverend Wright. The alternative is the "politically correct" world of NBC and MSNBC. I'd rather watch "The Zombie Channel".

M/M

Imus always refers to Hannity and Colmes as his friends, he mentions them all the time, their fair coverage of his Media Hyped Event, when alot of others were not so fair.

When Tony Powells's wife Linda came on last week, she mentioned in her interview Spike Lee's movie Skool Daze and today when Tony and Karith were doing their, I have street creds schtick, Karith brought up I watched Spike Lee's movie Skool Daze...hmm that's twice now. There is speculation, that Bernard will eventually return to the TV Screen. I hope sooner then later he is wired into what made the Show so popular to so many I Fans that would increase their ratings alot. I get the impression sometimes that Bernie is looking out for Karith's on air time, it makes sense he is the Producer. People get confused with their on air personas and they are still under the media monitor cloud. I do wonder if Hillary Clinton loses and Obama wins the nomination, would the Media Monitoring stop? After all if they went after Imus again after Obama's Pastor's rants, how would they square that it already smells bad because Obama apparently has two standards on who can say what.

M/M

I always watch The Factor then Hannity & Colmes sometimes just to watch my husband tell Colmes to shut up :) Too Funny yes we know they can't hear us! The thing at the kernel of the Liberation Theology is this "Seperate" these folks enjoy living in a first world country, they don't want to assimilate. They never mention the country of "Liberia" where the descendents of Slaves reside and Kinky Friedman brought up on Imus in the Morning, the first thing the Freed Slaves that showed up in Liberia did, they started enslaving the indigenous population...so Liberia acutal descendents of American Slaves that probably are closer to the American descendents of Slaves in our Country, Liberia is in Africa. United Trinity is African Centeric Church but they don't mention Liberia? This is tunnel vision. They also won't acknowledge the number of white people who died in the civil war those men left widows and orphans and they were the bread winners in those days so many people's lives were affected. I wonder how many Civil War veteran's orphans ended up adopted out and used as farm laborers? Tunnel Vision.

This is Linda Powell's Blog discussing her interview on Imus in the Morning.

http://lindanievespowell.blogspot.com/2008/05/my-interview-on-imus-in-morning.html

Ree,

I don't know what is going on with that radiothon, but I don't have the time to argue with the people on the Imus sites. Since "Imus Times" feels they need to police the other radio hosts at WABC and Bruce feels he can tell them how to spend their money, I sent the link and Bruce's message to Sean and I will let him deal with it.

I admit I am protective of Sean, but what happened to Don Imus was very scary and Sean is a threat to the DNC. I was an NBC and "Today" show fan at the time and I was frightened when Don Imus was fired and smeared for repeating a rap lyric. More importantly, I was scared for myself because I could just see the corporate memos on the wall: we've lost so many great jokes due to "political correctness" and we were about to lose some more.

Sean was discussing Morley Safer's description of Sean as a "conservative junkyard dog" during yesterday's interview with Alex Baldwin on "60 Minutes". Sean said it didn't bother him, but his wife was excited because she feels that the left's hatred demonstrates how effective he is.

I heard Kinky discuss Liberia and I thought he made a great point too. I didn't hear the Skool Daze references. Bernie does look out for Karith, and I've seen him look out for other women too. Bo was outstanding today; that segment was really funny. We need to see more of the talented and very sexy El Bernard del Bronx.
