Mother Nature, Ticked Off
Over the past few days we've seen:
A) a catastrophic cyclone hit Burma, with a staggering death toll expected to reach over 100,000.
B) a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit central China, with a current death toll of 12,000, which is also expected to climb.
C) a major volcanic eruption in Chile, displacing hundreds of people, and Mount Etna in Sicily seems poised to erupt again.
Are these natural disasters a sign of:
A) Global Warming
B) The End of the World
C) A Total Coincidence?
Right after the cyclone hit, Al Gore said he thought it was a result of global climate change. He's been silent, however, on what may have caused the earthquake and the newly active volcanoes. Could his deafening silence be because their activity is NOT caused by global warming? I don't know if the Almighty is planning the End of the World, but I do know that Gore isn't the Almighty. There IS a lot of shakin' and bakin' going on in the world, but let's not forget our common sense: sometimes they happen one at a time, and sometimes they happen in clusters. The rhythm of the world is under the direction of a higher force, a force much more powerful and profound than man. And we can see our vulnerability to that force in the photos coming from Burma and China.

Whatever, Monica.

It doesn't surprise me that lefties like Al Gore would use the death of over 100,000 people in Burma to further his stupid leftwing political agenda. It shows you the character of Gore that he would use these disasters to promote his snake oil sales. According to Al Gore's logic you either agree with his nutty global warming theory are you might get whacked by a cyclone. It's crazy, it's nutty, but what do you expect from a politician who goes around talking about global warming and lives in a 10,000 square foot home and flies around the world in a private jet. He is a first class moron and hypocrite.

Al Gore is ignoring the natural gases from the volcano, which spews forth the equivalent of hundreds of years of manmade CO2 in a day. He ignores the fact the earth cooled, and did not contribute to the cyclone, and finally, He ignores the generation of methane, a much stronger greenhouse gas, by termites dwarfs the influence of manmade CO2, His campaign is far worse off than Hillary's.
As the Democrats persuade the public with their ads on TV that America has half a century of its own energy sources, they fail to state that coal and oil shale mining really destroy the landscape; and domestic pools of oil are mostly tapped out. As for the continental shelf, who knows.
This leaves the impression that the war can be stopped immediately and there is no real calamity, and that is not actually right.
What about multinationals oil companies appearing in Brazil? Shouldn't there be an "global" anti-trust law, to prevent companies from sprawling all over the earth, monopolizing a global resource?

The problem with liberals: they do not face up to global warming enough. They talk a very superficial game. This would include even a Republican like John McCain, despite his efforts.
Monica, I don't know if you're aware that GAB has a special Warmology Division. It consults with experts, like Dr. Appollodorus Maldonado (an alias he uses for fear of retribution from the powerful Gore clique, which he says can make you or destroy you via funding, grants, Lamestream press, Harvard yuppie harrassment, etc.)
As a climate heretic, Maldy (as we call him) points out that global warming has threatened homo sapiens throughout history.
Eg. The destruction of Pompeii in 79 AD was absolutely produced by global warming. Signs of the maddening heat were everywhere, from the orgies of Rome to the erotic art on the walls of upscale Pompeian living rooms. (Archaeologists know that what Christians would call pornography was relatively unknown in northern Europe until (1)the advent of central heating and (2) the gradual northward creep of this global warming as it crossed the Mediterranean from Sodom and later the Alps and began a culture war among the Teutons, Goths and Celts etc.
Conclusion: A summary is impossible in the time and space available. So let's just briefly quote Dr. Appollodorus:
"If, like Nietzsche, you build your castle on Vesuvius, and the mortgage is sound, what can I do? You know, schnitzel happens. I am but a humble warmologist. Do you think the gods listen to me?"

Keep mocking the issue of global warming.

You conservatives really, truly are the lunatic fringe. You're lucky that some of us liberals will even bother listening to you sometimes.

K-Fred.. and why should we care if liEberals listen to us?!
Fact is.. liEberals love to twist the facts to serve their own interests..
"Global Warming" is an ersatz religion for atheists.
Like you, Fred.

Just because we see pictures of cute polar bears with big eyes falling into the water does not mean that the REASON they are falling into the water is *US*.
We need to see more REASON behind your reasons.

You could start by watching "An Inconvenient Truth" and opening your mind. But that's too much to expect of a conservative like you; you keep your minds closed. "A man hears what he wants to hear and he disregards the rest."
That's what makes you a member of the lunatic fringe, and from what I see, you always will be.

As for your comment about atheism, in the words of the great director Luis Bunuel: "Thank god I'm an atheist." Classic.

Fred you are So dumb.
You want me to watch the algore movie..??!! The one that's been discredited by real scientists..?
You really think I am going to listen to that pompous bloviator who lives in a 10,000 sq ft. house and flies around in a jet promoting his "global warming" movie?
If algore thought things were that serious he would LEAD BY EXAMPLE and promote his ideas by WALKING or by RIDING a BIKE!
This guy simply can't get over the fact that he lost the election.
Yes, "global warming" is a hoax. Before that it was Y2K. Then before that it was the Global Ice Age which was widely discussed and prophecied in the 70s and 80s.
Looking even further back we were busy with real calamities like the two World Wars.
Which get s us to the start of the 20th Century which was widely believed to ring in the END OF THE WORLD.
Then before that it was Halley's Comet.
All a bunch of hogwash and snake charmer stuff. Ersatz religion like I said.
But then liberalism is a religion of sorts..
Meet the new boss Fred.

Conservatives are more obsessed than Al Gore than we are. He has explained everything he does to make his life more green, including massive work on his house. The flying on jets has been grossly exaggerated by conservatives like you. And, ok, you found a few scientists who say global warming is a hoax . . . just like you've found some psychologist who says that liberalism is a mental disorder, so you cite him ad nauseam. Yeah, I'm going to buy into what conservatives' experts say . . . maybe after the Rapture.
At least I don't confuse science with religion. I like that Bible museum where they have a model of dinosaur with a saddle on it. That's who you've got on your side, conservatives!!!
I repeat: You are the lunatic fringe.

First, they called it Global warming, then when things were not warming fast enough, they called it Global Climate change. The bottom line is earth's climate is very dynamic, on the subject of whether man is the sole cause, or not, it needs to be science in, politics out. When the fact is nature pumps out far more green house gasses than Man, then the question is, how much is really mankind's fault if any at all. But when you follow the blame trail, they want it to be at America's doorstep. What we should be doing, we should develop technology to adapt to the changes. Changes will happen, they always have, it is just we think on scales of decades, when earth's weather and climate changes are on a time scale that man can't comprehend. Storms hurt more people today because, more people live in areas that historically have been slammed by nature. Earth has gone through much warmer, and much cooler periods. In the United Kingdom, Al Gores movie, in their courts, they now require rebuttal, since Al Gore has been found to have out right lies in his movie. So if you want to take a look at the Anti Al Gore documentary, take a look at http://www.greatglobalwarmingswindle.com You can probably go to You Tube and type in The Great Global Warming Swindle and watch it there, or hit it here at UK's Channel 4 http://www.channel4.com/science/microsites/G/great_global_warming_swindle/index.html I would not take Al Gore's word, not without watching the other side of the debate. The real question, is man really that powerful to effect and overpower nature, I really think we are not there yet. Plus, CO2 is not a pollutant, but they sure push it as such, CO2 is also not the major player of the green house gasses. But if you listen to the talking heads, you think CO2 is. CO2 is makes up only 0.038% So saying we could end up like Venus, well Venus is 96.5% CO2. Humans begin to die when CO2 climes higher than 10%. But in the end, if we all did a little something to reduce our energy consumption, who will it hurt, it will do one thing, it will put more green into your wallet.
