Why Harold Ford Lost

Harold_fordA lot of people are trying to play the race card in trying to figure out why Harold Ford to Bob Corker in Tennessee.   All you have to do is look at the picture to the left to see what was wrong with his campaign.   When Ford went on TV on election day, sporting a camo hat in front of a Confederate flag, it was clear he was trying to be something he wasn't.   Tennessee voters saw through the act, knowing full well that Ford would was more liberal than he was letting on.   Read more about the Corker victory at NEWSMAX.COM.

Decision Day 2006

Georgeallen This is it!   The campaigning is over.  The voting has begun.  The pundits had the Republicans' obituary written just last week, but a last minute surge in the polls is giving many of them second thoughts.   Dick Morris continues to talk about the latest bump, especially in the important race for Senate in Virginia.   The latest Gallup Poll there has George Allen with 49 percent and Jim Webb with 46 percent.   Morris says that if Allen wins, it is unlikely that the Democrats will take control of the Senate.   Polls in several other key states are also tightening for Republicans, proving this election is far from over.

So get out and vote and check back for updates throughout the day!

One Day To Go: Republican Upswing

Bush_1With just one full day of campaigning to go, Republicans are seeing an upswing in the national polls, and a tightening of a couple of the Senate races that seemed lost just a few days ago.   Democrat Rahm Emanuel is quoted in the New York Times as saying the upswing is making him nervous.   Emanuel is also quoted in the Washington Post as saying he "doesn't know what to make of it."  A Pew Research Poll shows the Democratic advantage slipping to 47 percent to 43 percent.   That's down from 51 percent to 44 percent just a couple of weeks ago.

Dick Morris is now predicting Republicans won't face the disaster that has been predicted.  Morris says the polls are all showing a GOP tilt, and that the Saddam verdict will end up helping the party.   Some of the other recent polls seem to suggest that the idiotic comments last week by John Kerry have hurt democrats more than first thought.

The Stakes

2006_10_16t214246_450x285_us_stoneThe Republican Party will begin airing a hard-hitting ad this weekend that warns of more cataclysmic terror attacks against the U.S. homeland.  The ad portrays Osama bin Laden and quotes his threats against America dating to February 1998. "These are the stakes," the ad concludes. "Vote November 7."  The ad shows just how high the stakes really are this year-- WATCH THE AD

It's The Economy, Stupid!

2006_0914_bouchard Democrats and liberals may be licking their chops at the thought of taking back control of Congress-- but not so fast!    Nationally, Democrats must gain six seats to capture control of the Senate.   That won't be easy-- especially since they're now fighting to hold on to a seat in Michigan.   That's where the liberal Debbie Stabenow is facing a tough challenge from Republican Michael Bouchard.   Bouchard will be my guest this weekend on the radio.   With unemployment higher than the national average in Michigan and many residents frustrated with Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm, this race is a good chance for a Republican swing-state victory.   Bouchard is currently the sheriff of Oakland County, just outside Detroit.   He's tough on crime, and understands the how we need to fight the war on terror.  Click here to learn more about about Bouchard, or Click here to watch his latest television commercial.
